Your experience with this keyboard will be dictated by what you are used to, either if you are used to low profile or more tactile keys. For me, they are softer than I expected to the point where I question if I have hit a key.
I am sure I would get used to it over time, but I am finding myself holding my hands up significantly to make sure my finger can get a good push down, and longer-term, I am sure this is not good for my hands.
I am not a fan of the legend, but again, I am sure I would get used to it. The inclusion of both Windows and Mac keys is good for me between the work PC and work Mac.
Plastic backing, expected at this price point but adds to the really cheap feel.
The mouse is certainly a centre piece. It is very light (your preference again), and the side forward and backward buttons are good to see at this price point. Unfortunately, the buttons near the scroll wheel only adjust the DPI and cannot be customised.
I think for the price, 42.99 at the time of review, explore some other options unless you need both Windows / Mac keys and a mouse that wows on any desk. I can’t see your kids complaining about anything I have!
Gaming with this keyboard and mouse combo has been a delight. The tactile feedback from the red switches is satisfying, making both typing and gaming more engaging. The keyboard and mouse are both wired which may not suit everyone.
They light up so can be used easily in the dark or darkened room.
The mouse is a nice size to hold and is very responsive. It also has an easily adjustable DPI range of 800, 1200, 1600, 2400, 4000, and 7200 so you can play precisely and accurately.
The keyboard feels comfortable to use. I was easy to set up despite less than great instructions.
The keys are removable for cleaning which I have never seen before.
The lighting effects can be changed or switched off using the FN key and other key combinations.
They are efficient and quality so value for money.
A robust keyboard and mouse set from Newmen.
The keyboard has an FN key which in combination with other keys create various shortcuts like multi-window display or application switching but this is available for Windows.
Both keyboard and mouse have a very cool lighting effect which can be controlled. For the keyboard it’s the FN button again which works the magic in combination with other keys to switch between the different lighting effects, the brightness and speed of the lights or simply to turn them off completely.
The mouse also has a button to control the lights which can be found on its underside, plus on the top there are two DPI adjusting buttons, which ranges between 800 to 1200.
I am quite impressed with the keyboard which has a professional feel do it, with ergonomic keys which are removable for good maintenance.
The keyboard is mechanical, meaning that under each key there is a separate mechanism which transmits the signal when the key is pressed, making it very accurate and responsive. It is height adjustable as well having two different sizes pull-out legs underneath.
The mouse on the other hand, although impressive in design and lighting effects, it didn’t impress me much in terms of functionality, having a below average polling rate, which especially for a gaming mouse is a bit disappointing.
The mouse and the keyboard are both wired, so they connect to the laptop via USB cables which is desired for a better response.
A good overall set which I enjoy using.
