I’m not going to say it is a bad mouse mat, because it isn’t as it does feel premium. However, it would have been nice for Razer to include more lighting zones on the mat and maybe a hard surface – especially at the price they have it at.
It’s paired with a Razer Basilisk V3 and has helped with productivity and gaming. *Edit – I have now purchased the Razer Firefly V2 and can say even though it is 1/3 of the size, it games decently and has a decent sized mouse area.
While there are plenty of similar mats available. It’s worth the money (especially if you can pick it up in a sale) and adds to the chroma experience.
I’ve got the pink version because only the cable and the small box on the unit are in that colour – while the mat itself is gray.
As a mouse mat is fine, nothing to complain about. Light is good, and a nice mood. Yes, there are some inconsistencies in uniformity but it’s due to physical design. It’s fine for what it is.
The prices, however – normal prices for these are silly high, and suddenly this pink one was half price, because I assume nobody was buying them. Get it out offer if you can otherwise it’s a 10 mat ( a good one) with a fancy light.
You can tell its made by razor by the great quality and feel. The lights are striking the entire perimeter. The MSI software to control the colours is annoying, bugs you all time to accept terms and conditions even though I’ve accepted a million times.
My only negative is that the bottom doesn’t grip desk all that great so it tends to slide around the desk on heavy gaming sessions. Nothing a spot of double sided tape wouldnt fix though
There’s an old expression ” you pay for what you get” and that’s true of razor products.
I brought this to complete my set up on my gaming pc, it arrived in the branded box as shown, on removing your meet with a well made product something I have come to expect from the brand, the mat arrives rolled up in the box and once removed will need some time to settle down mine did within about 12 hours, as can be seen on photo it sits perfectly on my desk without any issues or bumps, the surface is well made and complements my razor mouse perfectly allowing for maximum slide and movement while gaming. The stitching is perfect around the edge and the over all texture of the mat is spot on.
Once plugged into my pc the razor chroma software picked it and I then set it to sync with all my other razor RGB products. The RGB lights can be controlled with terms of brightness settings and even effects. The lighting is constant around the Matt without any issues.
Over all I’m super happy with my product in and have no issues recommending this produc
Arrived well packed, rolled it out and it was in pretty good shape. There was a minor bump in the edge after unrolling, so I left a heavy book on it overnight and it’s been dead-flat ever since.
The lighting is nice but it’s not flippable so the USB will always go on the left hand side if it matters to you.
Razer Synapse can be a bit of a pain, so if you already have Razer kit this makes a lot more sense, if this would be your first just save yourself the hassle (and money) and get another brand. I got this on sale for 25ish and I had a lot of Razer kit already so it works really well.
Overall I’m really happy, it’s high quality and looks great, if you can get it for a good price then treat yoself. Would literally never pay full price.
Texture and quality of this mat is very good for the price. It lies 100% flat, with no wrinkles or folds, and the texture feels nice when using mouse.
Edge lighting is good – there’s a few bright spots here and there, but generally it’s pretty good. The wire runs from the top-left, and can’t be moved, so make sure that works for your desk layout.
Only (mild) negative – Unless you are exceptionally tidy, don’t; get the silver one, get the black. It’s a dirt magnet, and it gets pretty filthy, pretty quickly, and with the LED lighting, you can’t really shove it in the wash 😀 Get the black one – it’s still dirty, but you can’t see it…..
All in all – great, and pretty cheap for a Razer product…
The rest of my setup is corsair peripherals, but razer are the only company developing a software-controlled, RGB, extended mousepad, so I went for it.
The mat itself is of good quality, I’ve had no issues with buckling, air pockets or scratches in 2 months of usage and it feels good under my corsair mouse. The lighting is nice and strong and half the time I barely notice the stitching that secures the light strip.
I use Razer’s synapse software to program a few colour profiles to load when different games are in use to fit the theme – e.g. red for No Man’s Sky, orange for Overwatch, blue for Final Fantasy 14, etc. It’s simple for the mousepad and can’t imagine it would have other issues for other razer peripherals. Also allows for razer-developed profiles for specific games that respond to the game state (e.g. preparing spells in Divinity Original Sin 2, the pad lights up in a colour associated with the ability type), but I turn those off in lieu of my own settings. Sometimes synapse glitches and ‘hangs’ on a colour after exiting the app (usually with alt-F4) but it is a rare occurrence. It also transitions via a gentle ‘fade’ rather than the instantaneous ‘snap’ of corsair’s products via icue, but it’s not a big issue.
It’s still, ultimately, a high quality, software controlled, RGB trimmed extended mousepad, and it works excellent as the only item of its kind.
This was one of the first razer products I had ever bought, (alongside the Razer Huntsman in Pink), and overall it works as a normal mouse mat the main difference being the leds surrounding the edge of the mat.
The mat itself is a light grey colour, which matches the pink of the Quartz set very nicely. However, once you spill anything it is impossible to clean so watch out (i accidentally got moisturisor on it and it left a bit of a mark). The leds are nice, however the colour is not consistent through out the whole mat, I first thought it was a problem with my one; however after some digging online it turns out that other people also have this problem of the leds closer to the ‘brick’ on the top right being brighter than those on the far left. Although, this isn’t as noticable in the dark as it is in the day time surprisingly.
I would reccomend this for anyone who likes RGB like me, but if youre just looking for a regular mousemat something cheaper may be better for you!
