PROS
-good beginner and intermediate camera (a pro might be willing to get this, if they were going into a risky area, as it wouldn’t be a huge financial loss if it were broken)
-can shoot 60fps (so can slow down to 1/2 speed slow motion in post)
-good set of accessories (carry handle very handy, includes 2 batteries, and I like the case)
-quality is above a 90’s miniDV video camera (certainly it has higher resolution)
-SD card included
-mic gives decent sound (far from a presumer and certainly a pro setup, but it’s ok for a beginner camera)
-can use a phone app to control the camera (great for remote work), or use the buttons and touch-screen, or even start/stop recording with a little remote
-very direct fill light (on the swing-out screen)
CONS
-not great quality buttons
-plasticky
-no HDMI cable included (you’ll need one to plug into your TV)
-zoom is digital only
-not the best video or audio quality (but ok for a camera at this price point)
NOTES
-I haven’t seen a form factor camera like this for 20 years. It’s still pretty comfortable in the hand (without the carry handle)
-that is the most exposed “lens hood” I’ve ever seen. It is minimally effective
