I’ve had one of these for years – so long that you can barely read the brand name on it. It’s survived all sorts of accidents and spillages and still works fine. It doesn’t budge when using a mouse, it’s slim enough that I can slip it under my keyboard when I need more space – no complaints!
This is written from an IT professionals point of view, not a gamers, obviously mice use for gamers is slightly more demanding (although this would probably work brilliantly for gamers I haven’t used it for gaming). The backing of the mat keeps it constantly in place on a desk surface. The mouse response has been faultless on the mat for as long as I’ve had it which is a good few months now, its used at least 5 or 6 days a week all day long and actually looks pretty much as good as when I first got it. Definitely a five star review from me.
Using this with a Logitech G502 hero – too much drag resistance, however when used with a Mionix Naos Pro there was noticeably less drag. So your mileage with this mat will vary depending on what mouse pads are on your mouse.
This is true for All mats, not just this one, there will always be more or less resistance across a surface depending on how polished your mouse pads are.
The mat itself is well-made with a decently stitched border, their logo being visible but not intrusive. This will work well in a home or a business environment.
Ok so it may not have flashy graphics or bright colours but not everyone wants that – I didn’t! This is a really well made mouse mat with a nice texture to it, so I reckon it’ll last well and seems to work well too. You can’t really go wrong with Tecknet, who always seem to make nice, affordable kit that just “works”. The size is perfect too – I don’t like the huge mouse mats – I just wanted an old school size, room for the mouse to travel on and not heaps more, so this is ideal for me. 5/5
This mouse pad is seriously fantastic.
The anti-slip works super well on my gloss desk – no sliding about, the fabric surface is great, allows the mouse to glide around very smoothly and the seams feel like they’re high durability and dont roll up or stick up awkwardly. The dimensions are great for a small work area — not too large, not too small
Big plus is that it’s waterproof?! Spill your coffee? No biggie, just wipe it off, and it’s good as new.
Overall, the quality is top-notch, sturdy, and doesn’t seem to be throwing in the towel anytime soon. The price is sweet, the thickness is just right, and the rubber backing keeps it in place. No funky smells, just a solid, no-nonsense mouse pad that gets the job done
After using for several weeks I can confirm the mouse mat to work exactly as one would hope, with great results for both gaming and work/browsing too.
Great price, thickness is thin, but not by too much, quality of finish is also decent.
The rubber backing prevents any movement of the mat and the mouse glides far more happily than on the one it replaced.
No notable smell beyond what you might expect from a rubber based product, certainly no strong odours and none that would be considered pungent or unpleasant.
The mouse pad itself is actually really nice to look at. The rubber weave on which the mouse rests is an attractive deep black colour, and the colour is entirely even – something that has been a problem with previous products I’ve tried. The stitching on the side is mostly even and is a wonderful innovation, as it means the edges don’t get worn like on a standard mat. I also like the solid white logo displaying ‘TeckNet’ as well – it’s not fussy and it doesn’t need to be, providing a nice colour contrast.
In terms of using the mouse pad itself, my Perixx mouse glides wonderfully over the material and enables accurate gaming and work use. I love how the stitching also provides a tangible physical barrier where the edges of the mat are, meaning it’s easy to detect without looking. The size is also brilliant, though possibly a bit large if you are on a smaller desk – it will happily fit adjacent to a laptop with no problems, though. Thankfully, it also remains completely still even during heavy use, at least on my wooden desk.
One minor gripe is that after opening the mat itself, there was a rather strong smell (no doubt related to how the rubber has been treated) which is quite heady! This is easily fixed, however, by leaving the product by an open window for around 30 minutes. It smells totally fine now, and I can’t wait to use it more.
Edit as of 20/06/20: I still use this mouse mat daily—and after 2 years of heavy use—there are virtually no signs of any wear. The mat still functions perfectly and looks good. I now use a Logitech MX Master mouse, and the surface has no problem keeping up with the responsiveness of this high-end product.
