Bought two of these for a holiday, and they both work perfectly. The only worry I have is when I tried to charge a disposable vape, the battery was noticeably warm. This could have been differences in the energy delivery between Spain and my native UK, but in any case, I’d avoid if possible.
Excellent adapter. Notice I didn’t say converter. It is not. So check your voltages before using it. It’s excellent for phone charging and computers. It will not work for high heat things, like curling irons or blow dryers.
I bought this for travelling to US. I used it to charge my phone, i pad and watch overnight through USB-C cables. It’s versatile and you have to carry less weight while travelling.
Used on holiday. Very versatile didn’t think initially the weight of the box would hold on the American style pin but has. Plus offers way of charging many items through this one plug. Seems a strong piece of kit, worth getting although a bit pricey but contains a lot of variation and could use be put to use at home with the various usb style shapes. Size of like old 3 adaptors so would need the space near socke
Tested in a hotel in Athens, and used to charge a small laptop, a small camera, and a couple of smartphones – at the same time.
Fairly light, small, and convenient to put in your luggage – we keep it in the cardboard box it came in for extra protection.
A clever little plug, with three sets of plug prongs/pins than you slide one set of out.
Handy with multiple USB connections, both in USB-C, and the more normal USB-A.
Plus, of course, it is a pass-through plug, so you can just plug ONE normal plug into it.
The only thing this device does NOT do is convert voltage,
We live in the UK, so our stuff is 220-240 volts. So is Greece.
BUT if you got to some places (USA and some others) they use 120 volt power.
IF you plug in a suitable multi-voltage device, it will be fine
(my Philips toothbrush & razor are fine, and so is my laptop – if I use the supplied chargers that they came with).
There is a higher output power model of this, and some lower power ones, too.
Basically, the higher output ones cost a good bit more.
We went for this (middle power) one because it is only for holiday use, and the higher power model was a good bit more expensive. Yet we knew we would want to charge multiple devices (and you never know how many plug sockets you will get in a random foreign hotel).
Anyway, it worked very well, and we are VERY pleased we got this model.
Just right for our needs!
I would certainly consider buying stuff from that brand again, too.
This is a great gadget. We travel a lot thus encountering lots of different styles of power outlets such as EU, AUS, USA etc so this gadget I can use in any country. So that’s great. I have an older iPad with a lighting connector with a usb cable (old style) and I have just bought a newer iPhone 15 that uses USBC to charge. So this neat gadget I can use in any country, charge my wife’s hearing aids, my Apple Watch, my new phone, my older iPad. And it is compact and physically robust. I can heartily recommend this gadget.
Bought this for our US holiday, and it was great – and also works right across Europe & Scandinavia, (NB this DOES NOT change voltage – so check any devices you are using this with can work at 110V if you are going to USA – this plug just accepts the AC input, and then converts to DC USB voltage, or a socket on the back of the plug at the same voltage as the plug at the front.
One word of caution specific to USA – the sockets in the USA are always a bit rickety, and because it is a bit heavier, this plug adapter falls out of the socket quite easily, meaning 2 things;
1 – you need to sort-of support it when plugging in to an upright wall socket – whereas a couple of cheaper USB adapters I bought are much lighter and don’t have that problem
2 – there is no easy way of knowing if this plug is getting power if you are using as a charger, without checking with the charged device – and sometimes it starts charging, then the rickety US sockets budge, and the charging stops – a nice light on it when getting current might be nice, (as the 2 much cheaper adapters we bought as back up, have).
Overall I DO recommend this device – it is well made, and super-versatile – I was really impressed with it. It is light, and does not have any protruding “prongs” when you are packing your luggage – I wish we’d had this last year when we did a tour right across Europe – because it is so versatile. Hope this is useful, and I do recommend this.
