A fun activity that is ideal to take along with you when you want to keep them busy but not lose any small bits as it is all enclosed. Encourages good hand eye coordination and motor skills and is great for little ones to learn too.
This alphabet magnetic maze comes presented in a colourful cardboard box with pictures of the contents on it.
This product is well made from a wooden base with a Perspex cover over the top of the maze to keep all the moving parts safe underneath it.
The board has a dinosaur theme and all around the board there are notches with all the letters of the alphabet in lower case, there are tokens with the letter of the alphabet on that fit into the notches, there is a magnetic pen/stylus to move around the tokens, the only thing that could be a bit of a problem is that the tokens have capital letters on which may confuse the younger children of the age range that this learning toy is aimed at.
Other than that this is a good quality early learning toy aimed at children age 12 months+.
This is a good toy for teaching the alphabet and simple spelling. The lower case letters each have a slot into which the upper case discs have to be placed using the magnetic rod. The only downside is the letter upper case ‘I’ which can be mistaken for ‘L’ unless care is taken. The discs have six different dinosaur images which makes it all very colourful and light-hearted.
A set of cards is included with three letter words such as cow, bus, hat and box. There are three slots at the bottom of the board where the correct letters are to be placed. One could add an element of competition by seeing how quickly the words can be formed.
The VICBAY Montessori Magnetic Color and Number Maze has been a big hit with my toddler. It’s a simple but engaging wooden toy that really helps with their fine motor skills. My child enjoys using the magnetic pen to move the little coloured beads around, and I appreciate that it also helps them learn shapes and numbers.
The toy feels sturdy and safe, with smooth edges and non-toxic paint, which is reassuring. It’s great for keeping my little one focused and entertained for a while. At just over 12, it’s reasonably priced too, especially with the extra discount. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for something educational and fun for a young child.

I’m not as impressed with this as I thought I would be. The wooden board is nice, it has a Perspex cover with the tokens all securely underneath. They are moved by using a magnetic stylus. Where I think it falls down is that I think the letters should be the other way round, with the board having the capital letters and the tokens should be lower case. This is because the flash cards with three-letter words are (correctly) spelt with lower case letters, but then you have to ‘copy’ them using upper case letters, which is wrong as children aren’t taught to spell words in upper case. I think it’s bit of a stretch to expect a three-year old to be able to match upper & lower case letters as well, so I think this is geared more to a 4 going on 5 year old.
Spell with magnets – all 26 contained behind plexiglass so won’t come out. There is a slot to contain the magnet wand and a separate set of spelling cards if you want to use them. Each of the letter magnets has a dinosaur on and a lettered destination slot around the edge of the board and the central island.
Good fun for those just beginning to read and do phonics etc. But limited to the spelling activity won’t keep interest for long. At the end of the hols, this will be going into my magnetic toys collection at school for Reception/Year 1.
The VICBAY Magnetic Alphabet Pairing Game is a fun and educational game for young children. It is well made with a wooden base and perspex top with a pen included that allows a child to drag the pieces around. Kids love dinosaurs so that theme helps to keep up a child’s interest. You can both help them to learn the alphabet as well as spell some basic words like ‘bus and ‘car’ using the included cards. We are just letting our grandson moves the pieces around and get used to handling before introducing some of the letters as a next step. A good toy that can help co-ordination as well as the alphabet and some basic words.
