I quite like the 288L Wooden Beehive Composter, OK it doesn’t look that much like a Beehive its more a mini shead looking thing but it seems to be well made out of decent quality materials and comes flat packed with everything you need (except tools) to build it.
You do get instructions but they are not very clear at all but its fairly self explanatory how to put it together and once done looks really good, you could actually use it as a garden storage box for tools or outdoor cushions etc too!.
For 89.97 at the time of reviewing its not a bad price when you compare it to other wooden Beehive composters too.
This beehive. composter arrives flat packed. Unfortunately the instructions. are just pictures and not very clear. I could only work out the left and. right side seeing where the screw holes were positioned. It also looks like the roof sections screw onto the wooden braces but actually you have to screw through the roof itself.
The wood holes needed. drilling out to be able to fully insert the screws. Having said all of that and the fact it took two of us a couple of hours to actually construct this, the end product is great.
The lid lifts easily for placing ocmpost but it could actually be used as a store cupboard for smaller garden tool.
It looks great in my garden but could do with better instructions and properly drilled holes.
A nice looking beehive style treated wooden storage or composter.
I’m using this for wood storage for my outdoor firepit , as well as some tools, carving equipment and briquettes for bbq, it’s very handy as a storage for my hobby equipment and saves a lot of space in my shed.
The beehive storage is easy to put together, it’s similar to a shed but on a much smaller scale so it can even be done by one person but much easier with two.
It’s actually quite lightweight and can be lifted and placed where needed, the small hinged hatched opening at the bottom helps with retrieving items from the bottom, but the large opening of the roof is a good design, it’s a very good design and a sturdy structure once set up.
Enough room for bags of logs and kindling , plus Axe, saw , carving bag , briquettes and room to spare.
This can be used for a multitude of different things, compost , equipment, wood storage , toys, tools, the wood smells really nice too , it’s been treated against mold and rot so hopefully should last a long time, looks cool too.
