Brentfords Towel Poncho Adult Hooded Large Bath Swim Surf

I was pleasantly surprised with this poncho, especially considering the low cost of it.

While it doesn’t feel like the highest quality, I can’t find any faults for the price. The material is soft, very absorbent, and lightweight. It is very loose fitting, allowing for plenty of movement and would be adequate for changing underneath if you were at a beach or a poolside. I am around 5’10” tall, and clothing varies between small and medium. This came to just below my knees, which was better than expected.

As mentioned, this is quite thin and very lightweight, and may not provide very much insulation if you were hoping for it to keep you warm, but it serves the purpose of getting you dry and keeping you covered up, potentially keeping a light breeze off you – allowing you to get warmed up quicker than waiting to dry.

After seeing reviews stating that seams had come away during washing, I washed this soon after receiving it as I’d rather be aware of any faults early on, when they can then be dealt with easily. I washed and tumble dried this on a Synthetics cycle which spins slightly slower, at 40 degrees, along with other items being washed and dried at the same time – and it came out fine, with no tears, or broken seams.

With regards to reviews stating that this is not very absorbent – this is a microfibre product and needs to be washed accordingly. Wash microfibre towels without any fabric softener, as this clogs the fibres and will cause it to almost repel liquid rather than absorb it. Until the towel has had it’s first wash, it also won’t be as absorbent as it has the potential to be.
