I have an electric ‘Porta Cable’ style Dual Action buffer / polisher that I have used in the past. Whilst it works fine, you always are having to hold the mains cable, which has inevitably draped across the floor and collected grit, out of the way of your worksurface to avoid more marring from the cable.

This little wonder is, to me, a great device. I like the fact that it has 2 batteries so you can work and charge the other for non-stop polishing, and in use if light. It is also comfortable and easy to hold. It has 6 different speeds so you can easily select the right one for the job in hand. One thing to bear in mind is that it takes a 6 inch backing plate that the pads attach you and is best suited to larger flat areas to polish. For more intricate curves and corners I would suggest a smaller pad and backing plate. That aside this machine works very well in use and is a joy to use frankly. For a cordless, reasonably priced DA polisher / buffer this is a good value piece of kit. However, please give us a plastic case to keep it all in, not the box it came in!
