DGYBDFC 4K60Hz Displayport to Dual HDMI Adapter for PC
DGYBDFC 4K60Hz Displayport to Dual HDMI Adapter for PC Laptop Graphics Card DP 1.4 to 2 HDMI 2.0 Monitors Extension Display Displayport to HDMI Splitter 1 In 2 Out Hub MST Extend Mode for Windows Only
I have a variety of Mac/PC/Linux OS and hardware, and was keen to try the DP output. I needed extra cables to connect this that were not included. Hoping that DP will give the higher quality images suggested.
I have a little HDMI monitor that I use when testing kit. Nowdays a lot of kit is DVI, this little USB powered adaptor works well as an adaptor, breathing extra mileage in to my portable screen 🙂 …Very happy!
Please read the official description to understand where you can use Dual-Display mode, and where you can only use Mirror-Display mode …They are open about this in the advert, and in the manual – so still 5*
This is undoubtedly a very well made and well spec’ed DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. However, i think this is way overpriced, seeing that you can get a very similar adapter to this that is a USB-C to HDMI adapter. My advice on this would be that if you have a machine (Windows or MAC) that has a spare USB-C port that supports DP ALT Mode then buy the other adapter. If you have no spare USB port and have to use this DisplayPort to HDMI adapter then this is still a great option even though it is overpriced
I would urge you to look around to make sure you get the best price for these adapters. You will find that other manufacturers have the exactly the same product but have just rebranded it for their own company, and it can be considerably cheaper.
For Windows this supports mirror mode so that the display is mirrored to both the monitors connected to this adapter and also to the laptops display, and it supports Extend mode in SST (Single Stream Transport) format AND in MST (Multi Stream Transport) format.
If you are going to be using this primarily for the MAC, then this adapter (or a similar one) is definitely the right choice for you. That is because this can support the MAC OS in Mirror mode and in Extend mode – but Extend mode is only supported in the SST format. What this means is that you are able to have dual screens in extend mode if you use the laptop screen as one display and any external monitor connected through this adapter as the second screen. However, if you had two monitors connected to the two ports on this adapter they will only show the SAME picture as the adapter can only support Extend mode in SST format, and not MST format, which is what you would need in order to use all 3 screens in Extend mode.
If you are not that technical and all this is confusing you, then please have a look at what configurations can be supported in one of the advert photos as it shows you in pictures how it will look in each mode.
This is how the different modes are referenced on the diagrams in the advert.
Mirror Mode – AAA (Same picture A on all 3 screens)
Extend Mode – SST – ABB (Picture A on the laptop screen, and picture B mirrored on the two monitors)
Extend Mode – MST – ABC (Picture A on the laptop screen, Picture B on Monitor 1, Picture C on Monitor 2)
Extend Mode MST is only achievable on Windows machines, the best you can get on MAC Os is Extend mode SST, and that is no matter which manufacturers adapter you are using as MAC Os can not support MST (yet) due to the way the operating system is written.
I have this connected to a pair of 3440×1440 ultrawide monitors, and it works without a hitch. Laptop picked up the dual displays and output without the need for any drivers or extra configuration.
Recommended.
Useful device for converting one display port output into two HDMI outputs @ 4K 60Hz.
Great for presentations where you want more than one display or when you want to do video capture.
Can also be used to extend your desktop to two displays giving ultra wide screen performance. Useful for gamers and IT professionals.
Build quality is superb.
Worth shortlisting.
I have just got this DGYBDFC Displayport to dual HDMI adapter. Out of the box, the adapter looks really compact. It comes with the adapter itself, an USB A to C cable (for 5V power supply) and a manual.
The adapter is plug and play so it is pretty easy to setup. For the Mirror mode and Mirror extend mode, the adapter supports most both Windows and MacOS. For the Multi stream transport extend mode (3 separated output), unfortunately the adapter only supports Windows.
The output is HDMI 4K@60Hz so it is really great to display on high quality screens/projectors.
Overall, I would like to recommend this adapter due to its high quality and handiness.
DGYBDFC 4K60Hz Displayport to Dual HDMI Adapter
Interesting alternative to the more normal USB-C hub which provides dual HDMI from a compatible thunderbolt USB-C output. This takes a Display Port input and allows for both duplicate and extended display on the HDMI input.
Device does require USB-C power input. Its well made and very compact.
Note – though the picture shows a Display Port cable, you don’t get one in the package, so knocking of a star for potential confusion – 4 stars.
