EasySMX X05 Wireless PC Controller with Hall Triggers Joysticks, Bluetooth Game Gamepad Controller with RGB Lights, No Drift Deadzone Gaming Controller for PC Android iphone Switch Steam
I’ve used this controller with PC, iOS and Mac and it works perfectly with all three. I haven’t tried it with Android or Switch.
I have managed to get it to work with one of my Macs despite it not being advertised to work. It’s detected by Mac using Bluetooth as an Xbox wireless controller. Once connected it then works in games that support an Xbox controller.
There’s a wireless USB dongle in the box for PC use. I’ve used the WiFi dongle – it works well – but Bluetooth mode also works with PC (the controller is detected as an Xbox controller) and so I don’t use the dongle.
In use, to me, it feels exactly the same as a genuine Xbox controller. The moulded case is very solid, the sticks have great feel and the buttons and d-pad take no practice to use with buttons automatically mapped in games that support the Xbox controller.
The buttons have great feedback and I’ve managed to effortlessly pull off combos for example in Tekken.
If anything I prefer the shoulder buttons on this controller – the large button feels bigger than on the official controller.
Weight wise this may be very slightly lighter than the official Xbox controller but it doesn’t require AA batteries which add to the weight of the official controller.
It feels similar, weight wise, to the Switch Pro controller but it’s bigger which I prefer.
The vibration feedback is good: subtle rumbles and more forceful rumbles with a good range between.
Pairing is very easy using Bluetooth and it’s also easy to re-pair to a new device.
It’s a shame that it doesn’t work with Xbox especially as its Bluetooth broadcast name is Xbox Wireless Controller.
Really like this controller, it works great and not had any issues with it at all. Fabulous value for the price (particularly if you pick it up at the current 40% off offer!)
It doesn’t have the mass to it that the much more expensive premium controllers do but that aside it works great, RGB function is quite fun and all the buttons and sticks work flawlessly with a good feel to them. I’d definitely get another one
I’m a bit of an old skool gamer me and in many cases I’m stuck in my ways sticking to the tried and tested routes. In this case for many years I have been using the recommended Xbox/Microsoft controller for my PC. I’ve been given the opportunity to play with EasySMX X05 wireless controller and I’m staggered by the difference and rapid response of the EasySMX controller. My old ways have changed and EasySMX is by far the best controller for me.
An example… Forza 5 Horizon, Infamously notorious for cars to stop being responsive as you try n turn a corner at high speeds, even if you do try n drift. The developers have many different settings and aids to help with this issue, however I prefer to drive unaided so I’ve simply been putting up with the frustration. However since moving to the EasySMX controller that particular issue has virtually gone.
I’ve found the EasySMX controller to not only be extremely responsive but to also have a much wider control circle which makes a massive difference in games like Forza and Fortnite because you have a much wider turning circle. Kind of the difference between kicking a ball around your back yard to playing of a football pitch, it just gives you so much more freedom.
I love that it comes with its own wireless dongle for devices what do not have wireless capabilities and that its straight forward plug n play. It does come with its own installable softer on disc where you can tweak the controller even further however I’ve not bothered with that as I am already blown away by how good it is. maybe one day I’ll venture into looking at the software but until my review and the 5 stars accompanying it is pure hardware and quality.
This is amazing and well worth the price too.
I ordered this Controller for My Grandson for use with his Ipad and He is so impressed, I have another one on the way for another family member. They play Minecraft and they say the Game has been transformed by the Controller which is totally compatible with the Apple Platform.
Finished well with sensitive and responsive Buttons, Its been a total hit with the youngsters and the price point is very acceptable. 5 Star rating.
This controller isn’t bad at all. It has hall effect analogue sticks which are supposedly immune to stick drift, which even some of the top end controllers like Xbox Elite or PS5 DualSense Elite don’t have, so that is a massive boon. It also has a lot of different connectivity options such as BlueTooth, 2.4Ghz Wifi, USB-C and Nintendo Switch.
It is comfortable to hold, feeling very similar to an Xbox S/X Controller, however the d-pad and face buttons have a bit of a spongy feel to them, and the edges of the triggers are quite pointy which makes them uncomfortable to hold down for an extended period of time. It does work well though, and I think for the price it’s a decent option.
This is a good controller which is compatible with both Switch and PC. I personally think that it feels good in the hand and the control sticks are the better quality Hall effect type, which prevents the unnecessary stick drift you get with cheaper analogue pads. Works both via Bluetooth or using the included cable, charge time and use time is about par for the course compared to similar controllers I have used. RGB lighting is a great feature and can be toggled to various colours and patterns to suit your preference. Overall, this is a perfectly adequate mid priced alternative to more expensive pro level pads. It has some of the features of more expensive pads, without straying too far into the premium (i.e. costly) territory.
This controller arrived well packaged and comes with a charging cable and dongle for connection if needed, as well as two joystick covers with a football design.
My favourite thing about this is that it can be connected via Bluetooth or the dongle and it’s wireless so when my partner and I are playing the 2023 GotY, I’m not worried about cable length as we have a living room setup for gaming.
It’s a very lightweight plastic which can feel a little brittle and I do worry about dropping it and breaking it. I’m being very careful so far. The joystick pads are a bit too small and tall for my liking. I prefer a chunkier pad, more low down but that’s preference and this would probably be fine for a child or teen. The triggers are fine and don’t squeak like my current ones do, so that’s a win! There is a bit of a dead-zone, but not severe enough to notice once you get used to it.
The other buttons and d-pad are pretty standard and nothing spectacular or bad about them – they perform as they should, in essence.
I wouldn’t say this feels premium and if you prefer something a bit more solidly built, this is probably not it for you. Price wise, at at 35.99 (at time of review plus a 40% voucher) it’s great for the range.
The RGB effects are pretty cool and can range between 7 colours and 5 modes. Overall, happy to have this but if you’re a hardcore gamer then try for something else.
This controller comes with printed instructions, a charging cable, USB dongle and football themed replacement caps for the sticks.
Overall this controller feels pretty good in terms of quality, it’s just about the right weight and is comfortable to hold and use for longish periods of time. I didn’t have any issue with any of the controls the buttons and sticks all feel OK, maybe not the best but perfectly serviceable.
Connecting this to my laptop was easy and I didn’t encounter any issues with this at all.
I decided to give it a test by playing Cuphead which is quite a demanding game in terms of accurate timing , at first I did feel like controls were maybe just the slightest bit sluggish, ( it’s kind of hard to tell as I’m not the greatest at this game ) but I quickly got used to it and was soon able to play just as badly as I normally do.
Overall I feel this is a pretty decent controller, maybe not quite as responsive as some of the wired controllers I own but it should be fine for all but the most demanding gamers out there.
For 39.99 at the time of writing it doesn’t offer bad value for money, although it is probably at the higher end of what I’d be willing to pay for a controller that is only little bit above average in terms of quality.
If you are looking for a wireless controller for your PC or Switch you could certainly do worse than getting one of these.
First, I’m going to note I was sent an unsealed, already opened controller that had already been used. I’m going to assume this was an Amazon issue and give the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt, now onto the controller itself.
The TLDR is this is a decent budget controller with a few minor issues, but if you look for sales or just push 10, more better options are available for similar prices.
Let’s start with the technicals.
Joysticks are fairly decent, allowing you to enable raw mode and set the inner dead zones to zero (which is my preference but shows controller issues most). With these settings, you get a little central jitter even with the sticks not being touched, and the re-centring of the sticks is good enough but not great, though neither of these should be big enough issues to cause any drift or movement within games. The main problem with the joysticks is the fairly large outer deadzone, which I would say wastes about 10% at the end of the sticks travel.
Triggers are also fairly decent, but have a medium-sized deadzone at the start of the trigger pull, maybe 5-10% range; not a huge issue but again not great. Outside of that, the triggers work well, being consistent and accurate throughout the length of their travel.
All the other buttons and d-pad are generic membrane buttons that work fine but are nothing of note.
Latency is very reasonable for both the 2.4 GHz dongle at about 15ms ms, and for wired 5ms, unfortunately, the polling rate using wireless is only 250 Hz, which I really would have seen to be at least double, but most people probably won’t notice, and with wired you get a solid 1000 Hz polling rate.
Feel wise; it’s all fine. I wouldn’t say it felt budget, but neither does it feel premium; it fits right in the alright range. The led’s round the sticks do look good though, and I am a fan of the pinky purple buttons.
Overall, this is a perfectly serviceable controller that works well, but other better options are available for similar or just slightly higher prices.
