The HYS Dashboard/Windshield Mounting for Disk Suction Cup Mount is quite flexible, so mounting it on the dashboard of my car, which doesn’t have a perfectly flat surface anywhere useful, meant that the entire disc was stuck down, with the flexibility of my sat-nav & phone bracket suction cups accommodating the irregularities. My previous sat-nav disc was quite thick and rigid, so never ‘sat’ flush over the entire sticky surface.
I have mounted all 3 discs on my dash, centre and each side, which permits phone, tablet and satnav to occupy discreet locations, excellent!
Before fitting ensure the surface is clean & dust free (I used a solvent cleaner safe for most plastics, but a scrub & rinse should be fine)
Amusing side comment – I though the “Instruction manual” was printed on the top protective plastic cover, it isn’t, it is printed on the disc itself, but doesn’t appear to affect the adhesion of the suction cup.
The 3M adhesive pad that stick to the dashboard should remain in place for a long time (going by the 3 years of my last one) as it shouldn’t soften in direct sunlight.
5 stars for flexibility and a branded adhesive pad, and fingers crossed that it lasts as long as th eprevious disc.
Ordered these in the hope it would stop the suction cup on my dashcam from coming off the windscreen, which it tends to do every two weeks or so.
After cleaning the inside of the screen with glass cleaner, I fitted the pad without any problems. Both sides of the pad have a protruding tab which makes it easy to remove the protective films. This was especially handy when it came to the adhesive side. Adhesion to the inside of the windscreen was excellent.
Each pad comes in its own protected pouch which was nice.
Quality of the product looks and feels good. Even though they do have some flexibility, they are not flimsy.
Only time will tell how if this performs. Will update review when I know more.
