I have a skin picking issue where I will pick and pick at my face until it hurts. I was skeptical that this would help but they have been recommended to me in the past so I gave it a go. It really helps when I have the urge to pick to get this out instead and pull some of the beads out. I just pop them into a cup next to me to avoid the mess. It’s really satisfying to pull out the different size beads. There is a lot of beads in there to pick out. I like stretching it out and twisting it. It’s not sticky and doesn’t smell. I will definitely be getting more when this one is all picked out!
If you’re looking for something to give you sensory satisfaction, this is what you need.
You get 3 different shaped toys, each one filled with beads of different sizes and colours. It starts off being really easy to remove the top layer of beads, but eventually it gets really difficult as the inner layers are deeply embedded in the silicone.
This activity provides a high level of sensory stimulation and is really satisfying.
If you know, you know!
These were really quite sticky when taken out of their bags to use, and they have a bit of a smell to them a little like worn tires.
Unlike others these don’t seem to leave a sticky residue on your hands and fingers when you are “picking” things from them.
I am sure they could help someone with dermatillomania to stop picking for a while. So good for that..
as a fidget toy, not so much.
My daughter had asked me to get one of these pads for her so I was delighted when I got the chance to review a Unicorn pad!
It has tiny beads and there is a lot of them- so should last a good while.
My daughter wanted it for undiagnosed ADHD as she feels the need to fidget a lot when on the phone at work.
She would definitely recommend it for people with ADHD or Trichotillomania.
It is currently priced at 7.99
This set you can choose between the unicorn, an ice lolly or a dinosaur.
This is a suitably satisfying picky pad. The silicone is soft enough to pick at easily. All of the beads are small so it will occupy you for a while. What is particularly nice is there is a top easy to get to layer and then a much deeper layer that will take some effort to pick at. I can’t wait to get to that bit as these are really calming in meetings.
