These are very well made shin pads and include ankle protection which is a must these days. The velcro is strong and the front protection material is robust and convincing enough to protect your shins. The only shame is the sizing which doesn’t seem to make sense. My son is 11, average height, size 7 shoe and these are too small for him. Unable to put his ankle through and only 3/4 his shin was actually covered. So I recommend sizing up.
good shinnys – Manchester City design. My daughter found these quite comfortable ( well as comfortable as these things can be) and she liked the extra padding at the ankle and the extra security of the foot strap. SHe has worn them for a couple of games now with no complaints.
These are pretty good value and robust enough to stand up to hockey, football, and rugby. The fit is good and easily adjustable so they should last for a good few years. They definitely work to protect and even a hockey stick to the shin doesn’t do much more than a very small bruise. Good value.
Shin pad and ankle protection. Easy to put on (depends on the child’s size of course).
Colourful to wear outside the sock, which is also more comfortable as the sock provides a bit of padding between the velcro strap and skin.
These shin pads are great for little ones as they fit like socks at the foot end and so protect the ankles as well as the shins.
We gotthe boys to wear normal socks then put these on and then we put on the foorless socks to hold them securely.
They can be worn just over football socks as they have velcro straps and the foot part to keep them secure.
I got these for my 12 year old nephew who needs then for football games in school and he has been really impressed with them so far. They are a decent size, hard – to offer good shin protection when needed – and well moulded to the shape of the shin to help them stay in place and offer the best protection. The nice feature of this particular set is the ankle support design which helps keep the pads in place (along with a back Velcro strap) and gives the ankles a little bit of extra protection and support. The Man City design on the front is well executed too and looks good in all fairness. They are bound to appeal to young Man City supporters / Glory hunters but that downside aside, they are a very well made set of shin pads and I would certainly recommend them. If not the team!
