These are a game changer. They do exactly as stated . Very easy to set up on your iPad and a game changer when you’ve tried them for the first time . I could see these being very helpful for someone with restricted movement of arms .
One of my best buys of late .
I have given it a try and like books/kindle it a personal choice. Some will love it others won’t. When I use it I love it but don’t use it all the time. A long train journey it’s ideal.
I didn’t know I needed this until I got it. It is so easy to use. Makes reading at night so much easier. Great on the subbed when kindle is in position out of the sun.
I brought this to take on holiday with me to make it easier when reading on a sun lounger.
This product is great, doesn’t take up much room and holds its charge!
Wonderful little gadget. Box contains some instructions, transmitter, clip on receiver, USB Type C cable (for charging), a wrist lanyard (for transmitter), some small stickers to attach to receiver pads to improve screen contact (I didn’t need them) and 2 small rubber plugs for charging ports. It simulates a screen tap using a tiny electric charge delivered through pads in contact with screen.
I use it on my kindle oasis held in a stand (kindle still in case) charge them up, pair transmitter with receiver and clip receiver on. You might need to move receiver around a little to get good contact with the screen and depending on font size it might block a tiny bit of text (2 or 3 characters on very bottom right for me). A small price to pay.
When charging there is a small red LED to let you know it’s charging. The receiver also has a green LED that illuminates when your pairing and flashes on each time you send a signal from transmitter. There is no off button for the receiver (in fact there’s just one button to switch it on and pair it with transmitter) it powers off if it doesn’t receive a signal for awhile (not sure how long but it hasn’t switched off before the end of the page). Click the button once and it’ll switch on.
The transmitter has 2 buttons…but they both do the same thing. You can only simulate a tap on one side of screen, you can’t use this to go backwards and forward. I suppose you could buy 2 of these and attach one to each side of screen then one remote would be forward and the other would be back seems a waste of money to me.
In operation it works perfectly. Each button click simulates a screen tap and turns page. When I’m done I just push kindle (on it’s holding arm) to one side and put remote away. The auto power off means I don’t need to switch anything off (in fact you can’t). If you read a kindle in bed and it’s held in a stand or holding arm then you need one of these.
Just had to write a review on this as it’s fab and I don’t know how I lived without it! I use it for the kindle on my phone and it works perfectly. I was a little worried, that as I was using it for my phone, it’d be too bulky and cover the words at the edge, but if you position it right- it doesn’t interfere at all. I mainly purchased it as I have a shoulder injury, so holding my phone up all the time while reading was painful. Even if I propped it, I’d still have to move my arm to turn the pages. But with this, I can prop my phone up, and relax while turning pages with a click of a button. The buttons are also really easy to press and the page turner is very responsive- so long as you have it in the right position. I really love this tool and now couldn’t be without it. It holds its charge for so long too. I read a lot and I’ve only charged it twice in over 2 months. Even then, it didn’t indicate it needed charging- I just thought I aught to as didn’t want to be without it!
I saw this remote page turning device on a post and thought it too good to be true. It was a meme, that I have lost track off. I thought there was no way a little remote could turn the pages of my kindle, yet alone ebook pages on my iPad.
I searched on google reading reviews of how some presentation remote clickers paired with tablets but not kindles, other kindles and not tablets, yada yada I went down the rabbit hole. After about an hour of searching and reading reviews on amazon, I decided on this one, as the reviews were positive for both kindle and ipad screens.
Shockingly enough, right out the box the screen clip and remote work like a charm on both my Kindle Paperwhite and my Ipad Pro. This is by far the laziest thing I have ever bought myself. It is a treat to be bundled up in a blanket, hands covered and warm, and still be able to turn the page on my Kindle Paperwhite. If you have cold hands, like to be bundled up, want to have your e-reading devices propped up, or might need an adaptive tool to help you click the screen this remove page turner is for you!
Out of the box, it has a charge to work. I do not know how long that charge will last, but it was enough to test out how well the device was going to work.
The remote page turner comes in a pretty small box that all the parts fit back into. Which is super nice for storing all the pieces together. In the box you get directions, a user tips handout, a remote, a screen clip, a charging cord, a wrist lanyard, and three dust caps for the charging ports.
It is easy to set up and use right out of the box. On the back of the screen clip is a button call “the activation key.” Once you tap it, the screen clip pairs with the remote and you are ready to rock and roll.
I’ve noticed that it does like to disconnect occasionally, but it doesn’t distract from how much comfier it has made my reading expierence.
I like this product in principle, but in practice it is a bit tiresome…..you’d expect to just clip it on and off you go…sadly that is not the case, the first place you clip it on it does not work and you have to keep moving it around, ever so slightly, until you find that sweet spot where it decides to work. This usually takes four or five attempts…..maybe, with time, I will find the exact spot and attach it first time, but for now, it is trial and error and I NEVER get it right first time..or second or third, for that matter. This rigmarole kind of makes me not want to bother, but I usually do, as it is a handy feature to have….until you accidentally knock the clip and move it out of that precise spot and you have to start over, finding the EXACT location again.
Also, it comes with a lanyard, which would be quite handy to have, but the metal eye to attach it to is recessed into the body of the remote and I cannot get the loop of the lanyard through the eye and out the other side, due to this recessed position. I am sure I could improvise with a bit of wire or something to use as a pull through, but I have yet to summon up the enthusiasm to do so….so it remains a niggle.
And the clip and the remote would not pair first time, I had to attempt that several times before they paired up…maybe that was my error, who knows.
I am sure it will be a boon, particularly as I have the font set quite large on my Kindle (the old mince pies ain’t what they used to be) and need to turn the page frequently. I quite often read whilst I am out fishing and in the colder weather it will be a real luxury to sit in my fishing chair, the kindle balanced on my knee with both hands plunged deep into the hand warming pockets of my jacket and still turn the pages, effortlessly. For that reason alone I’m giving it 4 stars, but the little irritations lose it that last star.
