I recently used this Weed Control Membrane for a landscaping project, and it’s been a fantastic solution. The 1x10m roll provided ample coverage for my flower beds and pathway, and the fabric itself feels strong and durable. Installation was straightforward, and the included 30 garden pegs made securing it in place super easy. So far, it’s held up well, and I’ve noticed significantly fewer weeds popping up in the covered areas, which means less maintenance for me.
Great weed control membrane, seems to be strong and thick enough. Pegs are included therefore it was easy to put membrane and secure it in place. So far I am satisfied with it.
This is a really good deal. 10×1 metres is a lot for the price too. We are using this at the front of our house, where we have chippings. There’s a four metre run that I’m digging up to re-lay and this is perfect for it. It’s thicker than our old membrane so will no doubt last longer. The pegs will help hold it down when I use the rest of it for some flower bed area in the back garden.
The material is thick and yet still flexible, and it’s definitely worth the cost.
I ordered this tarp recently to help with fixing my garden. Right away, I noticed it was quite sturdy and came with 30 pegs to keep it in place. It was very easy to cut to size, which made the job much simpler. However, after cutting it, the threads started to come loose. Fortunately, once I placed the tarp and covered it with bark, the issue was less noticeable. The pegs went through the material without any problems, and based on how my garden has turned out, I’m optimistic about having a weed-free flower bed.
The membrane is a woven plastic type that feels strong and durable. It cuts easily, with a sharp pair of scissors, but does have a tendency to fray a little and for that reason I’d recommend pinning the edges under when laying the membrane down. I like the size of this product which gives enough to cover a large area or several smaller pieces as needed. I also like that it comes supplied with 3 sets of ten retaining pegs which is a good number for the overall size but more might be needed if more smaller pieces are used.
The pegs are square topped which is good for retaining the membrane, rather than the hooped type, and the ends are angle cut which facilitates putting them into the ground. As they are a little sharp I’d advise that you try to ensure the pegs go through holes in the weave to avoid ripping the membrane and creating a future weak spot. The ground I’m using them on is reasonably soft and they have had no problem staying in. However I also have a piece that is on stonier ground and at times I struggled to get them to go in smoothly, just required a bit of positioning to avoid the stones but they may struggle on harder ground.
So far it has let rain through adequately, without much pooling, and has stayed put in some quite strong windy conditions. Only time will tell how effective it is at suppressing weed growth but, given it’s thickness, I’m optimistic especially when topped with a good covering of chippings.
Recommended.
