Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Users5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Dream Vacuum Cleane
It’s just perfect, the battery lasts a long time, 3 levels are amazing. Strong suction power. I love it. I am done with the cleaning in 20 minutes, I don’t have to drag it like a cable vacuum cleaner. A dream!

I love these vacuum cleaners thats why this is my second, my first gave up after years of successful cleaning. They are lightweight so easy to carry upstairs, suction picks up everything, glides along wooden, tiles and carpet with ease. Gentle on the hands. No cables to worry about and charges easily. I would recommend this cleaner because I love it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIn comparision Vax are useless vacuums.
The Bosch has powerful suction. I wasted 100 plus for a Vax that stores the detritus at the top of the suction tube. That limits the suction power at the head. The Bosch Athlet has larger tubes for the suction, and it works well as having a larger dust storage container.

Good machine for all round cleaning.
A little heavy to begin with, but soon got used to it. Used it all around the house.

I highly recommend the Bosch Athlet.
(I used Dyson for many years and was very pleased, but their cordless versions are far too expensive when you consider the low run times, having to have your finger constantly on the trigger, unless you pay even more. They also stopped working far too quickly.)
The run time on the Bosch is brilliant, which is so important, because in my opinion, even in a flat, you do need a longer run time than the Dyson.
Also, the suction on Bosch is excellent, and no more having to constantly hold down trigger, which is very difficult if you have arthritis, or any weakness in the hands.
The price is also excellent. And, although slightly less important, another bonus is that it stands up without you having to lean it on something.
The only thing I miss about the dyson is being able to easily access the on board hose to get the cobwebs high up. However, I would compromise that for the pros of the Bosch.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersA little heavy for my elderly mum
My elderly mother had had an AEG animal which she absolutely loved, but it kept breaking… So we replaced it with this Bosch, but it was that bit heavier and somehow less light in steering and she can’t use it… On the other hand, when either I or my sister visit we can quickly hoover the whole place really quickly. In terms of what it picks up it’s better, and cleaning/emptying probably easier. Holds a charge for a long time and lasts ages.

Good suction. Easy to handle. Easy to empty. Slow charging. Battery life nowhere near the claimed length. I reckon it’s half the length of time. It’s a great vacuum cleaner though.

Very powerful and good for carpets. I found it easy to use, I can hold the baby with one hand and hoover with the other. The only disappointment is that this hoover does not have any attachments, so hoovering the stairs isn’t very comfortable

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis was highly recommended to me
I was recommended by 2 people to buy this lightweight vacuum. It isn’t as light as I expected and it is a bit unsteady (much like me). My biggest disappointment though is that there were no tools with mine.

    Best hoover for elderly
I was asked by a friend to research hoovers for an elderly relative. After hours of research, I discovered that the Bosch Athlet series 8 matches up beautifully with the requirements of elderly/disabled who live independently. I spent several days trying it out in our home and have been really impressed. However, time will tell if the batteries last……. But for now, I can’t fault it. Superb stick hoover for the elderly.

    My 2nd athlet. Grea
My last athlet lasted 7yrs. This new one is more powerful. & the battery life is good. This is my main vacuum cleaner for my 1 bed bungalow. I can vacuum the whole bungalow 3 times on one charge. It’s good on my carpets. Rugs & hard floors. It’s especially good for elderly & people with mobility. The weight of the vacuum is on the floor as opposed to some other Vacs where all the weight is on your hand. Great little vacuum & arrived really quick & well packed

    Very Good Cleaner.
Everything seems to be as advertised. Excellent suction, excellent at picking up bits of whatever, runs for around one hour, clear charging indication, easy to empty and clean brush rotor, the three power modes as advertised, the alert for need to empty and clean works and is clearly displayed, solid durable construction and elegant appearance. No complaints so far. Possibly a pity it doesn’t feature separate rechargeable battery packs but I’ll wait to see how long the installed battery lasts before attenuating.

    Great for hard floors
I can whizz round my hard floors in a jiffy. Quite hard to push on carpets as the suction is strong! It does what I wanted it for though. Very pleased with it.

The new Bosch Athlet Serie 6 BBH6POWGB ProPower is much harder to use on carpets but is very good on wood floors and tile floor . I have the older Bosch and that is very good, the new Athlet serie 6 will help any customer that has a larger floor area to work on as it last longer in power. This product is a 4 to 5 star rate and the price is top end but for a new model is right .

Very easy to use – light and versatile. Flexes easily to go into corners, under things and round awkward areas. So handy just to grab quickly to clear up as messy area. Good suction power and good length of charge. A great choice.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersGood performance but battery life is limited
I have a quite a large 3 storey house so I have more than one of these machines, one of which is now almost 5 years old. The good points are :-

Very simple and easy to clean the filters and roller, which is essential to maintain suction. When suction begins to reduce, simply clean and dry the filter components and remove anything wrapped around the roller and it will return to full suction performance.

Very manoeuvrable and more comfortable to use than stick vacuums which require you to support much of the weight at the top end.

Better suction on full power than stick machines I have tried.

    The cons :-

Removing the floor head and using attachments is only easy if you have strong fingers. I gave up bothering fairly quickly and bought a separate hand held device for edges, stairs etc. For an elderly person like my mother who has arthritis in her fingers it would be impossible to remove the floor head and use the attachments.

Battery life is limited and once the battery charging has degraded (around 2 years or a little more depending on use) there is no cost effective option to replace the batteries with new ones. Watch the YouTube video of how to replace them and you will see that this is a job for an experienced engineer which involves use of a soldering iron, it is not a DIY job for anyone other than a real DIY expert. My older Athlet will now just last long enough for my hard kitchen floor, which takes only a few minutes to vacuum, but it runs out of power very rapidly. Any chance of doing a whole house, even a small one, would be hopeless. On the plus side it re-charges to give that short performance time very quickly.

My advice for buying one of these, which does an excellent job provided you accept its limitations, is to buy one of the older models when available for an offer price, accepting it’s limited life span and that it is effectively a disposable product.
