Gravity fed hot water system
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is usually low. To give a higher pressure and flow rate from a mixer shower a booster pump can be installed.

This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. Unvented System
An unvented system has a hot water cylinder that is connected directly to the mains cold water supply and there is no need for a cold water tank in the home. The water is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater. As everything is under the pressure of mains water, the flow rates from taps and showers are much better and a pump is not needed to get a powerful shower. An unvented cylinder can be installed virtually anywhere e.g. in an airing cupboard or garage.
Combination Boiler
A combi – boiler can be located anywhere within the home. More often wall mounted but some are floor mounted. It heats water ‘on demand’ when a hot tap or mixer shower is turned on. Connected directly to the mains cold water supply at high pressure there is no need for a hot water cylinder, cold water tank or shower pump in the home.

Fitting a new Triton Martinique Electric Showe
The Triton shower unit perfectly replaced an older ‘Jade’ model. Both the water inlet fitting and electrical connections were in exactly the same positions as the older unit. In addition, the back plate fitting holes were also in the same positions, which meant that there was no requirement to drill any new fixing holes. The new unit works well and we are very pleased with its performance.

Simple but effective!
I purchased this to replace a Triton Opal where the stop button had snapped. This is a direct fit replacement for the Opal, using the same water and power entry points. In fact, nearly every part looks identical.
The Martinique’s shower holder and head are cheap white plastic, so I opted to reuse my Opal’s chrome holder and head.
One thing to note is that the water inlet on the Opal is threaded where as the Martinique’s isn’t, so if you are replacing an Opal you’ll need to adapt your pipe to suit, or swap over the water inlet solenoid (which is easy as it’s the same).

Perfect replacement for old Triton Bezique shower. Wiring and pipework connections all in exactly the same position so an easy job to replace old unit.
Had a 10.5kW version of same shower which started to have low pressure light on and going cold, wss installed 6 years. Decided to replace with same ,ake but bought 9.5kW version as was cheaper than 10.5kW. Same size same connections was what I thought, but turnd out 9.5kW has a pressure fitting pipe whereas my old 10.5kW is screwed pipe coupling type. Bit of a head scratcher but then decided to swap the solenoid / inlet fed conndctions over from old to new (hopefully Triton would understand and not void my warranty!). Shower installed and works great, has 5 settings for shower head which is good selection of watet jets.

An excellent quality modern showe
Really happy with this. It’s a great shower at a nice price. Good flow and temperature control, easy to use and a modern/stylish look. The multi pattern head is great, going from a power stream to a wide ‘rain’ type effect with ease.

Great shower at a great place easy to fit and install if you have the fittings already in place just checking what power cable you have in place and fuse for the load.

This is a direct swap for the Triton Opal 10.5kw shower, cabling, water connections, screw fixings all in the same place for easy swap. This was the best price I found and half the price I was quoted by Triton directly.
This was a perfect replacement for my previous Triton Aquatronic 4 shower , I did not have to alter any plumbing or electric wiring .
Good pressure using the five setting shower head along with a pump, good constant hot water temperature.
I would recommend this product.
Remember you will need to a 16mm olive if you are going to replace your old shower and do not forget to call Triton for advice on replacing your old shower for a new Triton . They will tell you which one to choose saving you from making alterations to the water and electric supply to the unit.

If you have a similar shower already in place and you are just changing it for a newer model, its as easy as changing a plug.
This was a real easy shower to fit , it went straight into the position of my old triton, which was a Triton Bezique. on the reviews I read before I bought a couple of people were saying that the chrome finish was easy marked, I’ve had no such problems just wipe it down after you have had your shower. SIMPLES as Oleg would say..

Bought as a direct replacement for an old Triton Opal. Fittings and back-plate were identical. Got a plumber mate to fit it and the job took no more than 20 minutes. Probably could have done it myself in about 30 minutes if I was more confident about plumbing. Shower works perfectly – plenty of piping hot water at a pretty decent rate. It’s never going to be as powerful as a pump-driven power shower but for an electric shower it’s more than adequate. The old one lasted around 12 years before it started to play up – admittedly not used as much in the early years as in it’s latter days. If this one lasts half as long we’ll be more than happy.

Had to adapt the old flex so it could be re used on the new shower.
Am a little puzzled and annoyed why the manufacturers would spoil an otherwise great value for money product by skimping on an important but inexpensive part of the package.

I had bought this shower in June 2014 and waited about a year to install it…..not because I am lazy but because I had to work most weekends and never had a complete day off to do all the work as I had to drill through walls etc to connect into my Distribution Board.
Anyway I go off at a tangent…..After installed it worked for about 3 months, not really that great to be honest but it was a shower and did the job. Over the last 2 weeks it has not been able to heat the water properly and I am mad as anything. Wish I had looked at previous reviews on this…..I have learned my lesson and will not buy a triton shower again. Poor quality and poor product overall. It even seems to stop the water flow to its inability to heat it properly and believe me it is not that great.

I had to edit my comment here as I phoned Triton and they sent out an engineer and fixed the shower…..I had not realised that it had a 2 year warranty….it is working great now and I have no problem with it now……so I would add that they gave me a really good customer service and maybe I should have waited until I gave them a chance to sort it….4 stars as it did not work for that long but hey they made up for it with their fast customer service and I had an engineer out within a couple of days and it works very well now. Fixed on warranty

I bought this shower to replace an old 9.5 kw Martinique which lasted nearly nine years, so I was happy with that. I wanted a unit that would simply fit straight in and because my electrics was sufficient I could also upgrade the unit at the same time. Very happy so far with this purchase and if it lasts as long as the last one then brilliant.

This is a classy looking shower and works efficiently. Only criticism is the stop button is a bit temperamental – have to push it a few times to switch off water. For me it doesn’t have a positive feel about it – it’s a bit wobbly. I have been left wondering whether or not it’s going to switch of at all. Triton might like to address this.
I WAS RIGHT TO BE SUSPICIOUS OF THIS SHOWER…IT’S JUST GIVEN UP THE GHOST AFTER TWO YEARS AND A FEW MONTHS…..THOSE FEW MONTHS MEANS IT’S OUT OF GUARANTEE!! TYPICAL. Does what it says on the box; a direct fit in place of my old Triton 10kW shower, with water connection and mounting holes an exact copy. On the plus side it also seems to perform slightly better in terms of hot water delivery. On the negative side is the chrome front panel that shows every water mark and thus has to be polished; a silly idea.

I bought this shower to replace my Triton T100i which I had for many years, as stated in the reviews that I read on this site it fitted exactly in the same place and covered the existing space left by my old shower.Therefore did not have to disturb my tiles but I did keep my existing extension rail that is fitted to the tiles because the new one was a slightly different size and fitting, just attached the new shower head and hose to my existing one. I am very happy with the shower it works great and looks smart as well.

As other reviews have stated this replaces the old Triton showers perfectly so when ours died my husband could refit this new one without calling out an expensive plumber – just what we needed!

Following a phone call to Triton re our previous Instant Shower, which had developed a fault after many years of service, they explained that this was a direct replacement. It fitted in perfectly without any installation alterations. Fantastic. Now to use. The supplied shower head is really great, giving several water pattern settings. Being Summer time, the incoming water from the Main is a few degrees warmer, making Instant Electric Showers much more efficient, and certainly having more pressure at all temperature settings. That said this new Shower is so much better, and I’m not a bit sorry the old one went cold on us!.
The real comparison test will have to wait ’til the Winter when our old Shower definitely lost it’s “umph” as the incoming water was so much colder and the Temperature setting had to be increased, thus slowing down the water flow.

It’s in my hubby’s bathroom and he is very happy with it although he says the buttons could have been designed better because they are in an odd order and although they work fine, they don’t depress a lot or click, so you’re not sure that you’ve pushed them enough.

I bought this as my old shower had broken down. It has similar fittings to my old one, so my tiled wall still looks immaculate. It looks good in my bathroom and does the job. Happy !

Replaced an older version of the Martinique with this newer model and was not dissappointed.
All the connections were still in the exact same place as the original ….even down to the fixing holes.
Good 5-way variation on the shower head and very easy to understand instructions…..both operational and connection.
Cant go wrong for the money.

Arrived almost before I ordered it so well done all. Fitting went well although a couple of items were missing reference the support ‘bar’ for the shower head. No big problem though as the outgoing shower had the pieces I required. The shower works well and I am very pleased with the result. Price – excellent.

I bought this because my old Triton Jade packed up. The good thing about the Jade was that parts (valve, seals, etc.) are usually available cheaply from ebay, as long as the sealed heater doesn’t go faulty. But this time, the heater did go and so I bought this one, as it was down for a good price.
The good news was as I suspected, this is exactly the same size as the Jade, with the power connection and water inlet pipe being in the same place. So easy to replace the Jade with this Martinique. Looking in side the thing, the heater unit looks exactly the same as the Jades, with all the wiring and switches being replaced with one electronic board with relays (mounted on the PCB).
The relays aren’t sealed/covered. This does give the advantage that in the future, if the contacts become corroded (as I suspect they will, as they really SPARK when they’re activated) it’ll be easy to clean them. It just makes the whole thing more dangerous if water ever leaks from the heater unit!! When in use, it’s pretty much the same as the Jade. I expect this will die sooner than the Jade, as electronics (the PCB is completely open inside, no screening/cover etc.) don’t really mix with heat/moisture/steam etc.)
The only real thing that’s annoying about the Martinique is the chrome panel on it’s front. It looks good, until you use it 🙂 . Every single drop of water that touched it will leave a water mark on it’s surface. So if anyone has a 3D printer and scanner and wants to make a new one in white plastic, then let me know, because I’ll buy it.

This is an ideal replacement for the old Triton Opal,water and electrical connections were exactly the same even the screw holes were the same position except one but you cant have everything.
The rail and head is an updated version and will need alteration.
The shower overall is what you expect from Triton a good unit.

I was replacing a Triton Opal shower and found that by using the Martinique it fitted exactly in the same place without any alterations to the plumbing or electric feed. It is a very efficient shower and a great price from Amazon. I would recommendi it.

Great Showe
Bought this shower when my Triton Opal broke down. The Martinique is like for like with the Opal but with an updated frontage. The shower is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone needing a new shower.
When my old Triton ‘Opal’ shower failed, this ‘Martinique’ was the ideal replacement, as it is in effect identical in structure. No new holes to drill and it fits the existing plumbing. Works just fine too.
