It’s compact in design, the capacity inside is not massive, good enough to seat a standard plate size though, simple menu, the auto defrost works a charm – much better than my aging old microwave, easy to clean, decent price.

Great if your not overly fussy
I loved the look and style of this microwave oven. However there are a few snags (for me) I chose the black finished machine and it looks stunning and is easy and slick to use. But what l hadn’t realise was that unless you place this microwave oven in exactly the right place in your kitchen you cannot see what is going on inside as the door and windows are black and reflective, this makes it work like a mirror. So be warned

I have had several microwaves as I use them for cooking all of the time, when I am not ‘steaming’ my vege. However, this is a good alternative too. Doesn’t create so much water, and then if you want to take your chunky vegetable matter and pop it into the fryer, this can make for a crispy solution, and doesn’t take so long to cook frying either. Just browns and hardens. But, I digress.
This machine I could start and use straight away. Didn’t have to master any book first, although it did come with one, and if there are any nitty-gritty details that one needs to read up on, there’s that. But, it is straight forward to use if you are from the old school of trial and error – not much error, and you don’t have the aforethought to check health and safety every five minutes before you blink. Just…do it.
Clean as a whistle inside, and not white, which I appreciate “oh, so much” as my last 5 microwaves – which lasted about 2 years each before going rusty around the edges and around the turnstile, therefore, giving them them the, ‘old heave ho.’ This one looks like it is a molten greyish/charcoal and would not ‘age’ in such a way like the others. A stronger/nicer finish. Fingers crossed. Just wipe down after every use and…OH…did I say how great it looks? A mirrored front on it. Really looks cool!

Its a good microwave for the amount you pay. We’ve had two in the family. Used with moderate usage. Dont expect it to last forever. It may not look the best – but hey then go buy the expensive ones – does what a microwave should full stop. Nothing more fancy

Good product but pricey
Bought this for our house kitchen, It does what it says on the tin, no fancy stuff. Just a standard microwave that has been reliable to me, writing this review a few months after purchasing. Happy with it, not sure how to clean it as instructions were not clear but apart from the price it’s a good basic microwave. Happy with it.

It’s a nice microwave with a quick start 30 second incremental button. One slight issue is the digital display is not easily read when stood in front of the unit, it seems like the display is recessed?? Otherwise it’s a good microwave. JG Grimsby

Bought this to replace a twice the price Kenwood Microwave/grill. Having never used the grill and only ever heated/defrosted with it, I opted for a more basic model. I’m not dissaponted, the RH is very neat and tidy, it’s quieter than the Kenwood and the functions are easier to use. I like that it has a pull handle rather than a push button door release which is what broke on my other oven (hence new oven). The compartment is small, fits a dinner plate if tilted on an angle which is no different to my old oven. There’s not much height so tight if putting a tall jug or cup in. Not necessarily negatives for us but could be for somebody else! Came with a lot of ‘do not’ instructions, not sure if this is the norm for all new ovens or i just hadnt noticed on old appliances. Given some reviewers on hete said their ovens caught fire, I wanted to be on the ball so read the manual carefully. Apparently dried food on the compartment walls can ignight so mine is getting cleaned after every use! Also, says to dry the inside after use which I’ve never done and is what probably caused rust in my last two ovens. I was surprised however that you can’t heat those microwavable heat pads filled with dry beans!! Again not negatives, probably would be if I’d spent 100+ but as it was a bargain at 55 I’m not complaining and am really happy with it. P.s. food comes out hotter amd can see food cooking better than my old 800w oven so brucey bonus !

It is the exact size as my old one that I was replacing, but, the inside is smaller! Not a massive problem as my plates just about fit.
It’s sleek looking, small, easy to clean and works very well. However, the dials can be a bit fiddly and if you don’t use the defrost function, you will find that you will be needing the manual close by!
Beautiful if basic
This is a very stylish microwave and as we don’t use it much, it suits us perfectly as it looks great in the new kitchen. It’s not the best however so as long as you’re just wanting it for basic reheating etc you’re ok.

I bough this as a replacement for an old microwave that died. Easy to use without needing to look at the instruction book. Does exactly what you expect it to do. If I had one gripe it is the mirrored front door, it can be a swine to keep it smear free, not enough of a problem to mark it less than 5 star in all categories though.

ice good looking microwave and functional
Great microwave and bought to replace my old Grundig stainless steel one which is over 10 years old and lasted well but developed rust on the interior. This is a really nice looking microwave in shiny black with a mirrored door and is the same size, 20 litres as my previous one with pretty much the same controls. My only concern is if will keep its good looks based on much of it is plastic and not robust stainless steel and will update my review accordingly if this is not the case. Although i am currently very happy but i do wish that Russel Hobs wouldn’t blazen their name on the front as well as every other kitchen appliance and kitchen utensils they have their name behind and feel this should not be so much in your face and more obscured.

Compact, simple, quiet, stylish(ish)
Good microwave. Nice and simple controls. I hate having to go through a menu just to blitz beans for 2 minutes. With this you just bang the go button and it starts, keep pressing to add more time at 30sec a press. Great.
One issue. It is a little on the small size inside. You just, and I mean just, get a normal dinner plate in there. So its passable and usable. But the larger bowl I occasionally use no longer fits which is a shame.

Bought for when my 15 year old Russell Hobbs 23l 900watt machine needs retiring due to the paint starting to crack and also rust under the turntable. (Used to microwave rice, which got hot and steamy so don’t do that any more) So only tested the new one before keeping it for when the old one dies. The smaller size and reduced power is fine for me. I measured standby power at 0.5watts with the clock on compared with 1.9watts for the old. I used to turn the old one off at mains when not in use so not sure if still will do. Despite some reviews, it has all the features you would expect like “multi-sequence” cooking e.g defrost first then cook etc. and even delayed start at set clock time. When cooking (with the internal light on) you can see inside just as well as other microwaves. Setting the timer to cook couldn’t be easier or quicker, just turn the dial to whatever duration you like and click start. Opening and closing is perfect on my worktop – no need to put fingerprints anywhere other than the handle. It seems slightly quieter than the older one.

I like the black ‘glass effect’ front look and the matte black exterior. Easy to clean. So simple to use. (Read the manual but didn’t need to – not even to set the time). Please check your plate size: this isn’t a ‘big’ microwave, but it does what I need perfectly.

So far it’s great but very hard to clean spots have appeared on the mirrored door. Takes a lot of effort to remove and I’m not sure where they came from. It would have been 5 stars otherwise… difficulty in cleaning is just annoying.

A great microwave that is perfect for smaller kitchens. It looks small but it does have room for quite a bit. I have a big family but only rely on a microwave to reheat food or make porridge for kids so this is perfect for me. Compact, easy to use and affordable.

It does its job well
It’s a nice microwave. My husband is not big on reading directions. He can usually figure things out quickly on his own. I admit that it took both of us a bit of time to figure out how to set the power level and amount of cooking time. Once you know ‘the formula,’ it’s a snap to operate.
My husband and I each have one dislike. My husband thinks the platform that supports the microwave turntable could be better made. My dislike is around cleaning the mirror like front door of the microwave. No matter how often I clean it, or what products I use, it always looks streaky.
There may be a couple of minor dislikes, but there is a lot to like about this microwave.

Good replacement for aged Microwave
Purchase this item on 3 things, Brand, features, price. I like Russell Hobbs, they have been a round for years. I was particularly looking for a digital timer, i don’t like the dial timers, not accurate and in a microwave seconds can decide on burnt or not. Microwaves are so cheap nowadays they are not worth repairing. This unit is to replace a microwave with i purchased from Tesco 4 years ago for 60 so not much has changed. In fact, the software on the Russell hobbs is exactly the same so i am thinking they may have made the Tesco Variant?
Its great, if a little confusing to use sometimes
Performs well and have had no issues. However, due to the circular nob you use to set the times etc, it can be oddly confusing at first. Once you know how it works there are no issues, but its not intuitive as other microwaves ive had have been. Thats my only main issue with it. Aside from that it has a good volume and can handle our large plates, has all the functions you’d expect (defrost and weight settings etc) and looks very sleek. Easy to clean too.
Okay. I’m a simple person with simple needs and this microwave goes a little above and beyond. Don’t get me wrong, it does the trick and does it well, but keep in mind when it arrives that you should, under no circumstances, throw away the instructions. Study and protect those sacred texts with your life, and keep them close at hand for when you inevitably need them because that day will come sooner than you think.
Also I never thought I’d miss the wee button that opens the door? Odd aside but just something that surprised me about myself.

So far so good very cheap and works well not a big heavy clunk of a thing and takes a full sized dinner plate.

I don’t like that the waves are so small I cannae see them. I know it’s a micro wave but there’s micro then there’s MICRO. I like that it’s black and the doors shiny. I don’t like that it has no panoramic sunroof or heads up display. I like that it cooks stuff I put in. I don’t like that it explodes paint tins and makes a mess. It’s not very portable either, no battery or wheels and the cables only a metre long so I can’t really take it to the shops. It’s easy to use and it’s a rectangular shape. The display is easy to see but the light insides a bit dull. It’s hard to watch and see my porridge boiling over. Other than that I like it fine.

I got this 20 litre version to replace a 23 litre version so it is decidedly smaller but I have no problems with anything fitting inside. In fact I like it better than the larger model because it doesn’t dominate the kitchen like the old one did. The waveguard cover is plastic ( card on the old one ) which makes it easy to clean.
There is a slight disadvantage to this black model because the inside is dark to check if it needs cleaning but this is minor.
Controls are pretty standard and straightforward (though I don’t like the trend to flush fitting buttons which don’t feel as secure as they used to ) and it is a pleasure to use.

It’s a microwave. It’s black, 800watt power, look ok.
My main gripe is the front isn’t the easiest to clean, it’s definitely like a mirror surface, not black like in some of the pictures (that would just be a black reflection in it).
It’s pretty basic but does the job and look OK. I wouldn’t pay more than the 59.99 I paid for it.

Stylish compact design.
Stylish and compact. Looks good on worktop. It has been designed to take up minimum space. Probably not suitable for family use, but fine for single or couple. Slightly less high inside than my previous microwave, but this only affects a larger steamer I use for jam making. Have to put the lid on with handle inside. A normal sized plate will fit. Microwave is ingeniously designed to allow this.
Only quibble is I find I have to allow slightly longer cooking times, especially on defrost, than my previous oven, even though both are/was 800w

I know it’s sounds ridiculous but I really wanted an oven with a grey interior as a pose to the tacky white cheap looking ones. Absolutely love this and have learnt a little trick – leave the door open for 5 minutes after use, to let it dry out, before closing the door and you’ll never get rust! Your welcome.

This micro wave is not too big and looks stylish with its mirror finish door, although while in use you can see whats cooking. I found the controls slightly confusing to begin with, but quickly got the hang of them. Very nice microwave for the price, very happy.

My only difficulty was to understand in what row to press the buttons to make it work, if you are like myself that like super easy please patiently read the manual. Except of this an excellent microwave, does the job, it’s not making noice, it got a sound when the timer is off and auto stop and it got nice design. Easy to clean too.

I wanted a cheap microwave and this was one 9f the cheapest amazon sell. But I think it’s amazing. The size is perfect. It’s so easy to use and really easy to clean.

First thing I microwaved was popcorn, usually 3 mins is enough, this one only needed 2 minutes before my kitchen smelt like burnt popcorn…doh. Once the smell had gone after. Few uses, smells better. There are settings to cook on a lower power, but obviously I didn’t do that the first time.

Took a bit to get used to it, but now I have its great & fast. Powerful compared to my previous microwave. It’s quite small though. Both width & height. Do check before you buy. I also find it difficult to keep the mirror type finish spotless & smudge free. I think I read some tips on other reviews, must try them out!
Looks great and a quality item. Learnt early on that to wipe all the inevitable marks and finger prints off it – just use a damp cloth and buff with a tea towel. Cleaning products leave smears
This is our second Russell Hobbs we have ordered for office use, so used frequently. Our previous was only replaced after some rust set in under the glas plate area after a few years. The microwave was still working however without issues. Delivered speedily and easy to use.
This is a great microwave, heats up food perfect, looks great and has clear instructions. I would certainly recommend.
Love this microwave, amazing quality easy to use and easy to clean. Looks amazing with the mirrored finish and gets a full sized plate in there, quite deceiving at how roomy it is inside.
Very pleased with our purchase. It’s a small microwave which for us was perfect. Fits in a normal size dinner plate but not a really big one. You can see through the door when it’s cooking as a light comes on inside but when not cooking the door is mirrored which looks nice.

Quite an affordable price, does a great job, but fairly complicated at the start. Not the easiest microwave to use however.
So pleased we bought this – really easy to use and looks so sleek. For all those trying to work out whether a microwave steriliser for baby bottles will fit inside – the 25.5cm turntable will fit a 27cm width microwave steriliser kit! I couldn’t find this information anywhere online.
Stunning to look at and makes a cheeky mirror in the kitchen when clean. Heats up food as you would expect however the inside of the microwave is relatively small. If, like me you have squared plates then you will struggle to fit them in this microwave.
Just check your sized plates + make sure they are not squared and you’ll be fine good product. Posted some information on the box for anyone interested.
