I’m happy with the price of this and the quantity. This will last ages. The blocks fit perfectly into the wire cage with plenty room for the birds to perch and poke away for their food. It doesn’t crumble either, just retains its shape while being eaten away.

The birds really love these blocks – too much so it seems as they can get devoured within 48 hours. Seem a bit more sticky than other blocks but certainly very popular with all garden birds.

A variety of birds go crazy for this stuff and will ignore the other food until it is gone. A block in a hanging cage will only last a day or 2. It would be nice if it was cheaper but I would not want to sacrifice quality for price.

When the blue tits were nesting they were back and forwards to their nest box, 10 chicks hatched and we saw them leaving the nest, also seen them since, back at the Peckish block, other birds love them as well.

These ‘Peckish Suet Cakes’ are described on the box as “all seasons” but appear identical to the “winter warmer” suet cakes I received previously with my Peckish cage feeder. I obtained the pack as an economic alternative to fat balls — 10 individually packaged slabs size 4 x 3 x 1 inch. I am impressed at the composition — ingredients listed with product information — and I confirm the suet cakes are greedily devoured by smaller wild birds like tits, sparrows, tree-creeper, robin etc. via a cage, and by larger birds like blackbird, thrush etc. when crumbled onto a bird-table.

Disappears quickly, usually within a couple of days. Birds often dispute who gets to eat it. It feels slimy to touch but that doesn’t bother me. The birds like it and it’s good value.

This stuff isn’t going to last long.. the little birds in our garden eat a new block of this in one day. It’s like Alfred Hitchcock when this stuff goes out and the starlings and sparrows and tits turn up. Amusing to watch the chubby pigeons sit on the ground and watch them eat. Almost frighteningly attractive to birds (and the pigeons hoover up any dropped bits so they’re alright too).

The birds love it, it does not soften as quickly as some others at three times the price, which in this weather is a good thing. Will/Has become my regular supply.
Been using these for some time now and I have to confirm, the birds love it. The blue tits, great tits, long tailed tits, robins, and magpies all consume these with gusto. Not only that since using this block we have daily visits from a gang of starlings, something we have not had before. Even the parakeets will have a go, but their favourite is peanuts, the same goes for the nut hatches. The woodpeckers like both. The Dunnocks vacuum up the bits that fall on the ground, providing they get there before the crows and the wood pigeons.The greenfinches and the chaffinches tend to stick to seeds and the blackbirds prefer berries or worms.You would not think this is South London.

The birds absolutely love it, but once the Jackdaws see it the little birds don’t get a look in.
If someone ever comes up with a Jackdaw-proof feeder I’d love to hear about it! They empty mine within an hour of putting it up which could get expensive.
