I was surprised at the quality of sound for such a small device!
It’s much smaller than expected but its sound does NOT dissappoint, great sound at a great price at a great size, bluetooth connectivity is easy the first time and automatic after that, the casing is made of solid metal giving it a premium feel and the bottom has rubber to avoid it sliding. You can really feel the low notes. Only gripe is the annoying blue led at the front when connected, but otherwise its grea
Great little speaker. Good battery life. The only thing I would recommend when using the SD card would be a shuffle mode when playing the songs if anker could incorporate into the next version. This is my second one. I had the first one for 3 years and I either lost it on a construction site or was nicked
I bought one of these about 7 years ago, and it’s been my only bluetooth speaker ever since. It’s travelled around the world with me, been thrown in backpacks and handbags, dropped, spilled on, covered in sand, left in a drawer for ages and charged over and over again. It’s still just as good as the day I got it, with barely a mark on it. It’s also maintained its battery life really, really well.
The sound quality probably won’t impress people who are picky about that sort of thing, however I’ve found that the surface you put the speaker on can really affect that so try it on something more solid if you want a better sound.
If you want something that’s reliable, fairly loud and that won’t break in a year like a lot of tech these days, this guy is great. The metal casing means it will still look good after years of use, even in the lighter colours (mine is gold), and it’s so tiny! Great to throw in a bag at the last minute. The music’s not going to be booming, but it’s loud enough to put on at a party and still be able to hear it over people’s chatter, even outside.
I’d highly recommend. I love technology that doesn’t break :’)
Purchased this well over 5yrs ago and it’s still going strong. Good quality. Loud and long lasting battery powe
A great little speaker. I purchased the soundcore mini as a travel unit and it has ‘great for price and footprint’ sound. The sound is clear and crisp and ample for my hotel room or office. The speaker is small enough to easily fit in a suitcase or travel bag without minimal added weight. I expect it to travel frequently.
Four stars only because the model that I received apparently needs a software update out of the box to ensure that the sounds starts at the correct volume. (It has a tendency to reset to very loud when activated.) Hopefully the software upgrade (which requires a computer and thus awaits my return home) will be easy enough to merit a rating bump.
Very impressed for a small size; used the micro sd card and bluetooth functions which both worked very well.
I am quite happy with my purchase. The sound quality is better with AUX cable. (I noticed slight latency with Bluetooth, and blur in sound.)
My partner was really chuffed with this speaker that I put in his Xmas stocking. We thought we had to disconnect it each time you wanted to change device which seemed impractical but all you need to do is hold the button down to reset it and then pair it on the new device. Fantastic sound quality for such a small device. No wonder it has so many great reviews.
I work from home and use my phone to listen to the radio or music , however I find I easily get distracted and start scrolling on the phone! This speaker allows me to leave my phone on another room so I’m not so easily distracted and I can hear the music perfectly- even with the door shut.
I use this with my iPad as the built in speaker is poor if i’m not right next to the device. The soundcore has plenty of volume and i tend to use it at about half volume. Good battery life. Has a tendancy to come on quite loud at first but volume is easily controlled from the speaker or iPad. I have not really used the radio or SD card features so cannot comment on those. Automatically turns off if not used for a while whivh extends the battery life. Bluetooth connectivity is good.
TL;DR: Great sound quality, seamless connection, amazing battery, low price. Anker wins again.
My office overlooks a showroom and sometimes the music they blast out can be……undesirable for a working environment. Sometimes it’s just undesirable any under circumstances. Not to mention it can get LOUD.
So I got this little fella in the hopes it would drown out the unwanted noises with some I find more agreeable. After a bit of trial and error getting it to connect to my phone (phone’s problem, not the speaker) it’s been bulletproof ever since.
The sound quality is great and drowns out all the noise from the showroom effortlessly. The battery life is amazing (still haven’t had charge it since I got it) and it’s also nice being able to lock it away in my drawer on the weekend just in case.
Once again Anker has absolutely smashed it.
A few years ago I bought an Anker bluetooth speaker for my bike, it was a fab little speaker, good quality and powerful sound, great battery and very compact. Sadly this speaker has a tin sound to it, has connection problems too. The battery is ok though. I wouldn’t buy this again though.
I used a UE Megaboom before this and was expecting to be disappointed. I was not. It does a great job for its size. The aluminium outer is sturdy and gives a premium feel. It is a tiny speaker and works wonders. I keep it connected to my television in my boat and it pumps out the sounds.. Not exactly a party speaker. but its so portable…
I got this to take camping with me for those lonely nights under canvas but I’ve used it for much more than that. First off the sound quality is astonishing for its size, it goes plenty loud and has a surprisingly decent bass response for it’s size. The fact that it can play off an SD card and also has FM radio is excellent also.
The battery life is absolutely excellent and so far hasn’t ever let me down.
The one con is that the controls are a little fiddly for navigating but that’s a very minor inconvenience.
Given its diminutive stature yet superb sound, at this price, it is incredible value. Can very much recommend.
Really good value for 20. Great sound quality and, like all the Anker products I’ve bought, nicely designed and packaged. Easy to connect and loudness is impressive for the size. Decent amount of bass.
Only criticism is it times out too quickly when you pause whatever you’re playing. It will disconnect from your device’s bluetooth and reconnect when you hit play again. If you leave it too long then you have to switch it off and on again to reconnect. I get it is to save the battery but it would be nice to either be able to adjust the wait time or disable it entirely. It’s a bit of a pain when I’m working if I have to stop and take a call or something.
Apart from that, I really like it.
Great sound and fm radio works great! Battery life is great too
There are NO dislikes vfm and a perfect sound, thankyou
I find this really good value. Needed just a reasonably priced speaker for the office and this ticks all the boxes. Good sound for a small speaker.
This new wireless speaker is amazing quality! I have had one before and loved it, so when I needed another one for a different space, I ordered this new one……and the quality has improved incredibly…….clear, easy, good connectivity and very pretty to boot!
Honestly ignore any negative comments and buy this product. For the price i can’t believe how good this product actually is. Cheap, compact, robust, decent sound quality and good battery life. One of the best things i’ve bought on Amazon for a while.
I have 2 Anker speakers and they are both excellent. Battery life is great. I only use it a short time per day and it lasts me several weeks. Obviously longer daily usage will affect this. Easy to set up and use and sounds great.
I bought this speaker to connect to our projector when we had outdoors cinema during COVID lockdowns. It was brilliant – connected no problem and amplified the sound. It went missing in the summer and I looked everywhere for it. In the end I ordered a new one. This week – 4 MONTHS LATER I found it outside in the garden in a watery grave inside an empty plant pot. I brought it inside and left it. I turned it on today .. IT IS WORKING!!!! I didn’t even charge it!!! Although a little worm crawled out when I played country music!
Had this a while now. Great little speaker and good sound for the price.
No surprise another great product from Anker! This little speaker is honestly great! Really loud and good sounding
It’s very good quality for price . I just love it .
The sound quality is really good with longer battery life. Happy with the purchase.
Bought to take on holiday, great battery life & good sound , cheap as well
Bought for my office. Didn’t think I’d use it much, but have it on almost constantly in the background. So much better than tinny phone speakers.
This does just the job of allowing streamed music to be played in the student kitchen whilst preparing food.
I bought this as the speaker for mobile phone Sat Nav in an older car and, for that purpose, it works perfectly. But this device is small and plastic and the sound quality is small and plastic.
Prompt delivery. Product as spec. Bluetooth connectivity simple. Sound very impressive. Can’t ask for more. Good product for a small price
Could be made +6db louder for those with partial hearing
Great speaker! Would definitely recommend anyone thinking of buying one.
Excellent product .lost my first one on holiday .this is a replacement . Great sound .recommend
Came fully charged, paired without issue. Works every time with my Echo Show 5. It would be nice if it remembered the volume setting but otherwise faultless.
I was recommended this speaker by my daughter who recently purchased one. Very reasonable price, and great sound. Easy to connect by Bluetooth. Very light, well
built.
I really like this speaker. It’s got everything you could want for the price.
I have a 24″ Cello Travel tv – great picture but terrible sound. The addition of the Anker Soundcore mini made a tremendous improvement. It’s coupled using the USB cable and draws power from the tv, so battery life is not an issue. Overall it’s a great sounding speaker especially at such a reasonable price.
It’s a lovely little speaker that allows me to hear TV shows on my laptop when its raining hard. I love it.
For its size, this speaker is amazing, great sound, rich bass and plenty of volume. Buy it!
We bought this for our Motorhome. Lasts a long time after a full charge. Great sound quality for its size. Good connectivity. Would recommend.
It’s really small and compact I can take it anywhere and also light in weight .The sound quality is good and I use it with my smartphone.
I use this speaker to play backing tracks when I sing in care homes. Loud enough for a large room full of people (30+) but the sound quality doesn’t suffer. It’s small but really powerful!
I bought this speaker to move it around my new flat and basically to connect my iPhone and iPad. It works like a charm and the sound is good.
This speaker is small yet ideal for travel when you want to take your music etc with you. Easy to set up and connect, great sound. Really pleased with it.
It has good sound quality and long battery life too
Great product for the price, would highly recommend this product very good quality
Originally purchased this speaker for my daughter and then ended up buying one for myself as I was so impressed. Delivers a nice amount of volume and bass considering the small size.
I love the fact that the battery lasts for ages plus it’s a brilliant sound too
Sound is good but microphone is not that good it has yo be close to the face
I bought this for my nephew and he was blown away. I recently had to buy him the https://amzn.to/3RzAVKc along with https://amzn.to/3ryomEl as a graduation gift. He said it sounds better then the big brands.
Having previously purchased an Anker bt speaker a few years back I was impressed with the sound & build quality back then, so having the need for another I went for the same brand again & my initial impression is positive, great build quality once again great sound, not had a chance to use it fully as yet but all A++ thus far…
This is a great little speaker although Bluetooth dos t reach the 66ft it lasted for 12 hours and I turned it off very good for camping
The on/off button could be easier to locate, you have to pick up the unit to find it.
I have two of these little beauties; one in my static caravan hooked up to my Cowon personal music player and one at home connected to my TV whose speaker is on the way out. For the money I think the sound quality is very impressive with a surprising amount of bass. The volume is not particularly high so I’m not sure I would recommend for outdoor use. Build quality is very good too.
A great little speaker.
I use this in my classic car, once synced to the iPhone it connects every time I switch it on, the sound and volume packs some punch and easily gets over the engine noise ! Highly recommended.
This speaker might be tiny but it packs a hell of a punch! Fantastic value for money and great sound quality considering!
It’s small, but packs a punch, sounds great and is easy to take anywhere with you. Can’t complain especially for the price.
Sound quality great, small and smart taking up very little room. I bought it to take on holiday and it went into my pocket!
Connectivity is excellent and battery life superb. Don’t be fooled by the low price, this is a great product!
Nice and sleek piece with standard sound and easy operatio
Lasts for a long time, and the sound is good for the price.
I use this in the kitchen and bathroom. Great bass sound and it’s so small. Really good value for money too. Might buy another.
loved this in the garden, next to me with good quality of sound.
Great little speaker for the money. Pretty robust too. Dropped under my car and rolled out other side. Not a scratch. Holds BT well.
This is a great little speaker and has a great sound, very happy with my purchase
Super easy to connect, great sound. I use it in a busy kitchen and all staff can hear well.
For its size it packs a punch! Well worth it, we use it every day.
Compact with a surprisingly good volume and sound quality for something so small. Exactly what I was looking for to use in the garden.
I’m very pleased with this speaker. It’s easy to transport around the house and the bluetooth connection is simple. The sound is great. In fact, it seems to get even better at higher volumes. For such a versatile product, the price is a snip.
A gift to my teenage daughter so impressed with the sound and quality I purchased a second as a gift. Highly recommend easy to set up and use.
Sound is decent and volume good for such a small and relatively low cost speaker. The best thing about it is how easily it connects via Bluetooth – far better than our expensive Sonos One. Also unlike the Sonos, it has an input jack allowing wired connections, which is great.
The speaker was small & I wondered if it would do what I wanted it to do when I bought it.
Never in doubt, small, powerful, long lasting & great sound quality.
I would totally recommend to anyone reading this.
I have put lullaby mp3s on an SD card and this plays them on a loop for hours on end, no Bluetooth connection or streaming required. For this reason I think it’s a great speaker.
The sound is very directional due to the design so I’d recommend one of the larger Anker speakers for actually listening to music yourself. This would be ok for podcasts etc though.
Friend recommended it to sub other expensive brand- I luv it
Easy to set up , quality sound and practical when traveling- as i luv listening music and Netflix movie
Its small, portable and sounds great..good for travelling light and allows you to still enjoy sound quality when watching the internet from your devices whilst away.
Easy Bluetooth connection clear sound quality and controls. It also has fm radio but could not sort local stations.
Works fine but lacks bass compared to competition, also could do with being a little loude
This maybe small, but it goes plenty loud enough, and the sound quality is good, okay you might not get the bass extension of something bigger but it’s clear.
Linking via Bluetooth was painless and the controls on the front are good.
I haven’t used all connectivity options yet, but having an aux socket as well as microsd card slot is useful.
For the money (I paid <20), it's good value.
Great for carrying around the home but not sure the bass sound is quite as wholesome and deep as my similar sized Betron. Good value though
I got this just for when I’m sat outside or the rare occasion I get away on holiday and I’m so glad I did. The sound from such a small speaker is amazing to the point I have to turn it down a bit so the neighbours don’t complain. Can’t fault the Bluetooth connection either, it’s not given me any issues at all. Battery life on it seems good as well.
For the cost of this little pearl just buy it. It’s amazing. Bluetooth connectivity is automatic in all of 3 seconds. Not charged it for a few weeks and use it daily in my gym. Distance is fab and works a country mile from phone. Perfectly loud enough! Wouldn’t be suitable “in da club” but perfect for home and garden!
Considering it’s size it has a quite impressive sound. It’s well made and has a solid feel to it. The best working time I have managed to get from a full charge has been 8 hours. That’s not a big problem as it lasts for a working day. All in all I would recommend this bluetooth speaker.
The quality from the speaker is decent considering its size and it’s easy to fit in your bag and take with you. I will say though that when you are recording a video or anything it chips out for like 3 secs before it reconnects. The battery life is decent but if you listen to music at a high volume for a while it dies quickly.
Has this speaker for a little over a year, absolutely fantastic for what little I paid for it.
Only reason to not rate it five stars was as I was using it today it randomly
lost sound. As you hold it to your ear you can hear it playing super quiet inside but no settings/buttons etc return volume
so I am assuming a connection has come loose. can’t complain too much for the low
cost.
This speaker is pretty loud for its size it is pretty impressive. The overall sound is okay but the louder you get the less clear it becomes. I like bass so for me this was a little disappointing but for its size I didnt expect much to begin with. As for battery life it was pretty good and stayed on for hours. I ended returning it in the end and got the anker soundcore boost as the bass is more than enough.
Nice little speaker for its size. Connects straight away and as of yet not lost connection. Obviously not going to be the best of sounds but very good for its size and price .
It will take aux and has a slot for a micro SD card
Bought these a while back, never an issue connecting and with a great sound considering the size of them, but one thing lets it down.
That is when you have it on the original Bluetooth system you are connected to,that then turns off.
This is a great little with a lot of power! I bought one then bought another two for my lads. Whilst the sound isn’t 100% pure for all the audiophiles out there, as a compact stand alone BT speaker it’s fantastic. The battery life is amazing, it came charged and I still haven’t had to charge it yet and I’ve used it for the last several days. Well recommended
I bought this to take in my bag on holiday and have been quite happy with it so far. I opted for it as some reviews said it has room filling sound. I can assure you, that is not the case, however, don’t let that put you off. The sound quality from this little speaker is remarkably good for its size and price point and while sat on a solid surface does a reasonable job at propelling the sound out from it.
Bluetooth pairing is easy, battery life is good and is reported back to the mobile device you have connected from, so you easily know when it needs recharged.
The built in SD card reader and FM radio are unlikely to be used by me, but they are a handy feature to have.
No problem in recommending this speaker to others.
I only received the speaker a few days ago, so its a story so far. It connected to my Kindle Fire no problem, but my Samsung phone wasn’t so simple. I could not get it to connect. I contacted the customer support who asked me to clear all the Bluetooth pairings which I did and it connected. I have since found if I leave the speaker switched on, then try and use it it does not automatically reconnect, you have to switch it on/off. Again I have contacted them to check if this is normal. When it’s Working OK it’s a great little speaker, just what I wanted, great sound.
I got this mainly because the built-in speaker in the M1 Macmini is very weak.
With the Anker Soundcore Mini, I feel the sound quality is about a 5x improvement over the Macmini speakers. The volume, power and clarity of sound is immediately noticeable.
I like are that it has 3.5mm input so I can use it wired. So I also have an Anker cable that use to connect to the Macmini. Perfect.
I only use Bluetooth rarely, what with the soup of EMF in the environment, why add more when it isn’t necessary? Therefore, I’m pleased that Anker is giving us options.
This speaker appears very well built and because I’ve purchased several other Anker products, I kind of expect this, so the speaker has not let me down.
I also like the soft metallic pink rose colour…too many electronics are either black or in very bright colours, so glad that we have a choice of gentler colours.
Lastly, I was reading an Amazon review and the person mentioned how he improved the sound coming out of another brand/category of device by using a MAC app called “eqMAC”. In fact, he said he was going to return this other device because the speaker sound was not impressive. …But after installing the app, he was able to access the Equaliser of this player, adjust the sound, and then he decided to KEEP the player after all.
I don’t use these Anker speakers much to listen to music. But, while I was reading this review, I was listening to The Manhattan Transfer, and was thinking they sounded flat. So I downloaded eqMAC, and just even tweaking the BASE alone was a huge improvement.
I then adjusted the Mid level sounds…and wow, it’s like if these speakers were 5x better than the Macmini mini speakers…NOW they are 10x better than the Macmini speakers after being able to adjust BASE/MID levels.
So there’s a tip for you if you are using the Anker Soundcore Mini to listen to music or films and want to improve the sound quality even further.
I am never one to write reviews, in fact this is my first, but this speaker has changed me.
Do not get me wrong, it does not have the best sound quality by any means, nor is it that loud, especially in an outside setting. That being said, the loudness is just about perfect for a chill out with some mates, and the sound quality is acceptable. When inside it is not too bad, but as mentioned outside, it is not the best.
I managed to purchase this on Prime Day, heavily discounted, which was an added bonus. The amount of times I dropped it, in the first couple years of ownership, and it still worked, surprised me – dropping it on all surfaces seemed to have no effect: grass, carpet and concrete all had no effect. Surprisingly, the single bit of cosmetic damage it has picked up in its life time was the smallest of dents in the top of speaker, caused by a cologne bottle in a rucksack – which I found rather amusing.
Although, all of this is irrelevant. What really made me write this review is what happened a few weeks ago. I had taken the speaker kayaking with some friends, which was easy with the Soundcore Mini being so small. I had stuffed it down the side of me in the kayak, and as I was only on a fun little paddle with some friends I had opted not to attach the kayak’s spray skirt. Forgetting that I had not attached it, I did a sharp turn, causing the Soundcore Mini to fall out of the kayak and into the lake. Initially I had not realised that the speaker had fallen in – all I heard was a splash. I frantically looked around the kayak to see what was missing, hoping it wasn’t my phone, or worse, my lunch.
It was not until a friend pointed out they could see my speaker sinking to the bottom of the lake, that I realised that my companion, of now five years, was drowning. That endless bubbles rising to the surface further fuelled my panic. I thought ‘I am going in after it’, but that is easier said than done. Trying to jump out of a river runner kayak, which is rather overkill for a lake, is incredibly difficult without capsizing. I eventually got in the water, and watched as the last few bubbles rose to the surface. I dove down, and by some miracle I actually found the speaker on the lake floor. In total, the speaker would have been fully submerged in water for two minutes.
I returned to land and connected to my speaker. To my surprise it actually turned on. Even more surprisingly, I could connect to it. I played a song. The sound was incredibly muffled. I decided the best thing to do was to play heavily bass boosted music on maximum volume, and place the speaker upside down so the water could escape. After doing this for about two days on and off, the speaker sorted itself out, and the sound quality and volume was back to how it was before going for a swim.
May I also point out that the speaker is not advertised as being waterproof.
Never have I been more amazed in my life.
If you want a pretty cheap, INDESTRUCTIBLE speaker, that you can just throw in your bag and take wherever, no matter the conditions, weather, location, etc. then this is the one. A compromise on sound quality and volume is needed, but when you are out and someone asks if anyone has a speaker, you can be the plug and, this is definitely better than not having one at all.
One improvement I think could be made, although it is easier said than done from a production perspective, is to add a loop or hole that you could pass a carabiner through, so the speaker could be attached to the side of a rucksack or a belt. Also, you could attach it to the kayak seat… just in case. But to be fair, I just put it in the bottle holder on the side of my rucksack and that works perfectly fine.
Side note: if bored it makes a good substitute for a ball to play catch with.
i used the speaker to play music and audio books via my talking book machine, i have but to problems with it , 1 the instructions are just to flimsy, not enough details or help for controls etc, while i am over the moon with the audio quality and the amazeing amout of stuff on the speaker it is let down by the difficulty of operateing the radio , to me it does not matter as i bought the speaker to get away from radio, but it would be nice if it was easier to use. so in a summing up, more information in the way of describeing how to use controls and make the radio better . i would quite happily give this speaker 10 out of 10 despite the radio and lack of clearer instructions, to me its a little miracle that something so small and compact produces such quality.
I bought this for a specific reason. Like many I work from home on a laptop and spend many hours on a wired headset. I wanted to get rid of as many cables/peripherals as possible, so was after a speaker/phone, that I could use with MS Teams for calls. Like all Anker products the speaker is superbly built and easy to use. The rubber ring on the bottom is a great addition to stop it sliding about. Connecting to the laptop (windows 10) was easy enough and adding to Team was straightforward. Incoming calls and audio came through loud and clear but despite trying a few locations for the speaker, I was told I sounded like I was in the toilet (I definitely wasn’t). So back to the headset. Keeping the speaker for other uses but just be aware that if your primary reason for buying is the same as mine, this may not be best option.
Worked easily with phone it just automatically synced up to bluetooth. I was advised to buy connector cable as needed it for use with laptop but it didn’t work, just cut out all sound so that was a waste of money. It wouldn’t automatically sync with laptop, needed to actually turn off bluetooth on laptop and then let it connect and once that happened it was fine. Think it would be helpful if this was pointed out in sales blurb.
I bought this for my wife because her music played through her phone’s speaker was getting on my nerves – sounded like mice singing in a biscuit tin. The sound of the Anker is remarkable for the size of the thing and for the price. Turns out that some of her music isn’t actually that bad!
So, why pay more? And you can also buy a great little fitted case. Battery life is very good – my wife has been playing it for days and apparently hasn’t had to recharge it yet. (You have to charge it fully before first using it).
Obviously I can’t vouch for it’s long-term reliability, but honestly for that price I’m not that bothered. (I paid a fortune for a Minirig for my daughter and that died after a few months).
Highly recommended.
Just got this last weekend basically to replace the one I was using that was my daughters. Great bit of kit for a portable speaker. Bluetooth, Auxiliary cable, and slot for a micro sd card plus a FM radio. Liked my daughters that much I had to get one. Only complaint is my daughters had her a few years and was 16 and she got a little carry bag with it but other than that its perfect for my needs. I had to download the instructions as well in pdf as the writing on the enclosed is tiny but no hardship, just a tip.
Read earlier reviews praising this particular unit and given the fact that this was my first foray into wireless speakers, I was wary. My main requirement was for the speaker to connect to my Sandisk mp3 player via an aux output. The lead was NOT included but I had a spare so good to go
First thing to note the instructions are in minute writing – I had to get a magnifying glass to read them. Relatively easy to follow and connected/paired devices to it without a hitch
Second thing to note is that the volume levels on the speaker are non-functional when connecting from an aux source eg the sound can only be controlled from the source eg mp3 player
Third thing to note you need to charge the unit before use
Overall worth ever penny – I was not at all disappointed
