I was having some issues with keys that weren't responding well. After reaching out to their customer support I received EXCELLENT service. With prompt responses, they helped me trouble shoot the issue, and when that wasn't effective they quickly opted to send me a replacement keyboard. I was very impressed.

Really wanted to keep this. The keyboard is super heavy and sturdy. The RGB is nice and the red switches performed well. When I plugged in mac and pc it would send a repeated signal that would send the mac and windows sounds that indicate an error. I would get it again because it's the nicest and best price TKL keyboard. Redragon sells solid keyboards. I have their 551 mechanical keyboard for work.

This keyboard is nice and heavy very good button push I recommend the bundle as what I got it is worth every penny. The different light strobes and effects are better than any keyboard I have seen. Also comes with replacement buttons

Durability is questionable, great customer care
I have had this keyboard for around 6 months now, as far as programmable keys and colour options go, it’s pretty good, but I have so far already needed to replace 4 switches on this keyboard, and there are another 4 – 5 that need replacing now. This is all after normal use, keys simply refuse to register consistently.

I can give credit where it is due: RGB colours have a good range of choice for effects, input lag from the Bluetooth dongle is nonexistent, the ability to reprogram macro keys, and the ability to hot-swap are huge pluses. However, the default set of switches has not lasted me 6 months without having to replace some of them.

EDIT: The customer care team have been extremely helpful with the issues I have experienced regarding my own keyboard. The solution was prompt, and correspondence was very polite and professional. Overall, this has made my experience with this model of keyboard, and Redragon quite positive and I will likely purchase from Redragon again.

If you're looking for a gaming keyboard to compare this to as far as looking feel the closest I can think is the Corsair K65, even down to the textured spacebar. But there are a lot of differences. Macro keys are great, programming isn't too difficult and the fact that it costs less than half the price, are the big stands out. It's well-made and heavy even to have so much plastic, but it's not cheap plastic. Outemu switches aren't CherryMX, but optical is impressive. Switches are also hot swappable, which is pretty much a necessity in a gaming keyboard. Customer support is good, as usual, and while the software is in its infancy for a new model keyboard, I'm sure it will come along like other Redragon products. And we do have quite a few. The wireless adapter even works with some of their other more modern items like mice so you can have a spare. It's too new to comment on battery life at this point, but you can use it with the cable or without. NKRO is here, along with lots of options for lighting. I wish I could be a bit brighter or more color variation. They do need more "off" settings for underglow etc.

Heavy product, well made easy to use. Wish I would’ve paid more attention because I didn’t notice the keyboard didn’t have the number pad but that’s ok. Beautiful product, lights up bright or dim depending on your preference.

Sehr gute mechanische / drahtlose / beleuchtete Tastatu

    2) Layout:

I love my keyboard. The brightness and colors are adjustable. The keyboard is very sturdy. I was disappointed that my T key stopped functioning. I contacted RedDragon's Customer Service. After they helped me troubleshoot, they found my keyboard was having a problem. They sent me a keyboard within a week. My new keyboard is working flawlessly. I will be back to purchase more items!

    Decent board with mushy switches
Linear switches are my favorite. Of the ones I’ve tried, Gateron reds are tops, and Cherry reds are pretty good. The Outemu reds in this board are…subpar. They’re mushy and typing/gaming with them is just…meh. I also don’t like the row of G macro keys on the left. I keep accidentally hitting G5 instead of control.

Those are the bad parts. The keyboard is otherwise pretty good – no noticeable input lag in wireless mode, nice RGBs, low cost. But man, I wish this thing had Gateron reds.

I’ve read this board will only take Outemu replacements, but I’m gonna try and see if I can swap some gaterons into it.

Edit: A few updates after having this board for about 6 months. The board does only hotswap with other Outemu switches, so you’re limited to Outemu and Gazzew branded switches. You can also pinch the pins on Gaterons, for example, to try to make them fit, which some people have been successful with. I bought a handful of Gazzew Bobagum linear silent switches to replace the switches I use the most while gaming and they work just fine.

That said, the Outemu reds don’t bother me as much as they once did, but they’re still pretty mushy and the pinging is extra obvious when paired with the Bobagums.

Now, the main reason I’m writing this edit. My board stopped charging a few weeks ago. I tried several things to no avail and contacted Redragon customer support, expecting almost nothing considering this is a “budget” wireless board. They got back to me quickly and replaced my board with no hassle whatsoever. I was legitimately shocked; so much so that I’m raising my rating by 1 star (from 3 to 4). Still docking 1 star for the mushy, pingy Outemu reds though.

wired or wireless and extra switches included
great keyboard for the price ($58.85). the keycaps are plain slick hard plastic which is expected for the price.

i did replace some keycaps with Foamy Lizards 18 set of grey for ($34.00), yeah over half the cost of the keyboard.

software is straight forward, simple to use as apposed to my K70 software which I absolutely hate.

i definitely recommend this keyboard and as well the M686 Vampire Elite wireless/wired mouse.

This keyboard is just amazing! It does everything you need it to do. I also imoproved my tyoing skiills and imtyiping with it right now (ah! just kidding). Anyway, I basically like everything about it. The only thing that left me a little disappointed is the keyboard's app. What I don't like about the app is that you need to connect the keyboard via USB cable, otherwise the app wont even open, and you cant check the percentage of remaining charge. Hopefully Redragon will update the software including this feature (as they did with many other of their products).

The fact that you can program the keyboard without any software also blows my mind, and it remembers your macro keys and light preferences between devices. Super happy with my keyboard

I could go on at length about this great keyboard and all its features. Super sturdy construction. Battery life is amazing even with active lighting display on at all times during use. Keys feel great. Media and macro features more than enough for me and likely satisfy most gamers. My only complaint is the angles involved in the hard plastic housing result in many sharp/pointy edges/corners that make it a bit difficult to move or pick up at times without scratching one's fingers and the small plastic power switch on the bottom is also a bit unforgiving on the fingertip and could have been placed on the side instead of the bottom. Small complaints for such a great device that's priced to move! Lastly, I had some issues with my previous keyboard from RD (different model) and customer service was spectacular, going above and beyond to help me find solutions every step of the way. WTG Skye!!

Setting solid color and setting G1 to copy and G2 to paste
The English part of the manual is not written by an English first language person, there are conjugation errors, but it is mostly understandable. Don’t need to download the software, this was good for me because I’m using the Vishnu on a work computer and our security team has kittens if we download unapproved software. Cycled through all 18 color schemes, didn’t like the constant motion in the color schemes, just wanted a solid color, like my beloved Perixx, but I wanted a shorter keyboard, without a number pad. So, on the Vishnu, basically it’s “FN ->” to set a solid color, but you need to find a benign color scheme first because “FN ->” doesn’t work if you first pick a scheme in the “FN End” range, I think I selected something in the “FN PgDn” range and then “FN ->” suddenly started working, but don’t hold me to that, anyway if you play around with it, “FN ->” will work eventually and it cycles through solid colors that don’t strobe or blink or do anything but be a solid color. I like purple. Sigh, that was a challenge. Then, on one of the Vishnu review videos, somebody suggested setting a G button to “copy” and another G button to “paste”, so I set out to do that. As another reviewer here said, the “record” button is actually the FN button. So, I started up Word, typed some garbage, held down FN and hit G1. G1 blinked. With my mouse, I clicked on “copy”, then ended the record, with FN/G1 combo. This did nothing. G1 did not copy. Yes, most of you know my mistake. I needed to record the keyboard equivalent of a copy mouse click, which was CTRL/C. So then FN/G1, CTRL/C, FN/G1. G1 lit up green and henceforth did a copy. FN/G2, CTRL/V, FN/G2, G2 lit up green and henceforth did paste. There was a bit of lag on the paste, maybe because I did the recording in the middle of the night so I couldn’t see the keys very well, the recording mode turned off the backlighting of the keys I needed to press, so I fumbled around under lamp lighting, wasting some seconds. I’m going to rerecord in daytime, when I can see the keys. Sigh, another challenge.

I picked this keyboard mainly because it has dedicated macro keys - but they're *not* hardware programmable, it requires your keyboard to be plugged in for the macros to work. Also in turn, some logins prevent the macros from working as well. I was hoping for functionality like the old Gateway Anykey keyboard. Otherwise a nice build. Hot swap-able with Outemu. Magnetically attached wrist rest works amazingly well. Volume roller a nice touch. Battery life seems sufficient unplugged, haven't had a problem with it going dead.
I picked this keyboard mainly because it has dedicated macro keys – but they’re *not* hardware programmable, it requires your keyboard to be plugged in for the macros to work. Wireless TCL keyboard
Really nice keyboard! The key board is solid and almost no flex. The battery lasts a while and I have the cord under my desk so charging is quick. I only use it in wireless mode and only got lag issues when the battery is low (entire key board starts flashing).

    My only cons are three:

    1. The macro buttons on the left and be accesentally pressed with my hand as I have big hands and the macros by default and the F keys 1 through 10 so having F5 by control causes things to refresh.

    2. The software doesn’t work over wireless so I have to plug it into the computer and update the RGB and macros. Luckily you only have to do this once as the stuff is saved once you unplug, so not a huge deal.

    3. The few other macro keys don’t light up, which is not a deal breaker but weird.

The 3 cons, to me, are minor and I’m very pleased with the keyboard.

Quality stuff! I own other Red Dragon full-size keyboards and bought this smaller keyboard to use with an Intel NUC PC and it did not disappoint! I first tried a cheaper Rii keyboard with integrated mousepad and it was a piece of junk. Upgraded to the Red Dragon and you get the quality you're paying for! Highly recommend their products!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our Userssolid built, easy to use so fa
Only one month in with this keyboard, but positive first impressions:
    – Its definitely heavy, expected with a built in rechargeable battery.
    – key feel is pretty good. I’ve been using a logitech K120 previously.
    – Its very colourful but I’ve been using it with the lights low bright “breathing effect” to get better battery life, (lasted well over a week with regular daily use).
    – I was able to program the macro keys directly on the keyboard, no software required.

    Some Cons:
    – I’m using it in linux so software to setup the colours, macros doesn’t appear to be available.
    – The key markings are dark and hard to read unless you have the lights on. The font is a bit strange as well.
    – The edge of the spacebar seems a bit to sharp, it could be rounded on the bottom edge more.
    – on / off switch on bottom, very small, hoping it lasts.

    A solid, rare configuration keyboard
TKL + Macro keys is a unicorn in the keyboard world, so kudos to the mfrs for making this. First off, I’m using this wired, so don’t expect feedback on wireless functions here.

When I first got the keyboard, the M key was not working. I pulled the switch and replaced it with one of the sample switches they provided, so it was very fortunate for them that they sent 2 extra switches or I would be asking for a refund.

The software to configure the macro keys is good, no issues with it. Simple layout and works as you’d expect.

The brightness of the backlight is not super bright. Bright enough for me because I don’t really care about backlight. I really just bought this for TKL+Macro.

Spinny wheel works fine. I like it. The palm wrest is just solid plastic. Magnetic attachment is neat, but since it’s just plastic, my palms get wet and sweaty. Don’t know if I’ll keep using it.

Lastly, an option for other switch types would be nice. I really don’t like red, so now I have to find some blues to replace these.

    Switches are a bit ligh
When I first got this keyboard I noticed that the Outemu keyswitches were touchy and could be triggered just by having my fingers resting on the keyboard in a manner that didn’t bother any of the other mechanical keyboards I have.

After a couple months of ownership I can state that the activation force of the keyswitch isn’t a big deal in overall use. However the way the keys regularly bottom out during typing and will sometimes activate if I don’t lift my fingers enough while reaching for different keys makes typing with any real speed a real issue for me. On top of that I had never realized how much I’d come to rely on the numpad for repetitive numeric entry (such as when going to make an online purchase) until I was using a keyboard that lacked one.

For the lack of “full size” options and the choice of a very, very light activation force keyswitch with no factory options for heavier, I’ve marked this down by 1 star on the overall rating and 1 star for the “quality of material” feature rating.

Overall a nice keyboard, but one that is likely to cost a bit more overall to upgrade the switches and make sure it will survive.

    Brilliant Keyboard.
After my HyperX Alloy FPS broke on me, i was in a really tricky position as i needed a new keyboard quickly as i work from home and gaming is my main pass time when not at work, so i needed something that would be suitable for both.
I had been wanting to go Wireless for a while also, but couldn’t justify spending a huge amount of money for a decent branded gaming wireless keyboard, so it led me here, to this Redragon.
I had heard good things in the past about this brand being one of the best cheap brands, so i thought i would give it a shot.
I was NOT disappointed. This keyboard is absolutely fantastic, it feels just as good to game on as it does type, there is virtually no input lag over wireless which makes it perfect for gaming, especially with the Red switches.
Not only is this keyboard amazing through the feel and the looks of the layout/rgb features, but it also has hot swap switches, this is a HUGE selling point that is greatly missed from the marketing, if you get bored of the reds, then you can literally just buy some more switch and swap them in!
Altogether this keyboard gets a solid 10/10 for me personally. I have not had a single issue with this keyboard since i started using it, just a bit of dust that caused a switch to stop working, but once i cleaned it up, it was as good as new!

This keyboard is awesome. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but it exceeded expectations. It stays connected wirelessly with no noticeable lag, and also works great wired. The lighting is at a perfect level of brightness, and that is also adjustable. Actually, literally everything is adjustable/customizable. Each individual key can be even customized to whatever color and you can save six different profiles for the keyboard. The keyboard does not come with a disc to install the software to customize the board, but just Google "reddragon Vishnu keyboard software" and the company's website has it available for free.

    Fantastic!
A great keyboard! The clicking is satisfactory, but not too loud to disturb family. The colors are great, and the macro buttons are nice. They’re not “fully” customizable, you have to download the software, but you can accomplish almost anything, especially if you add in AHK or something. This one met all my specs perfectly: One row height enter key, full size backspace key, dedicated media controls. The volume wheel wasn’t on my list, but after having it I can comfortably say I’ll never get another keyboard without it. It’s SO convenient.
As for the negatives, I only have two small issues. The macro buttons on the left side kind of throw me off: I learned after having this keyboard that I align my left hand with the bottom left ctrl key when not looking, and they macro keys on the left cause me to have to realign my left hand occasionally. You get used to it after a while, but it’s something I didn’t think of before. Lastly, I was hoping that the usb dongle would be compatible with a Red Dragon mouse as well (just to save a USB port) but this is NOT the case. For anyone else curious. I have the Sniper Pro (M801).

EDIT: Almost 1 year later. I still love the keyboard. I’ve had a few.. glitches? Some of the keys periodically would seem to stick or not send the keystroke, but would right itself eventually. That’s likely the switches, which I could change. The two bigger problems were volume related. I LOVE the volume slider wheel, and it worked perfectly when plugged in. When wireless, which I didn’t use much, a few times the volume would jump like, 30 (out of 100 on Windows). So it would get super loud or just mute. There was no indication or anything, and it only happened when using the keyboard in wireless, so that was just kind of an oddity. The more frustrating thing is the dedicated media buttons. The Play/Pause button, maybe 5% of the time, would actually skip forward (or backward) instead of pause. I’m a big media user, so this was very frustrating. I contacted support, who understandably took me through the typical troubleshooting, before sending me another one, which was amazing of them.

So overall, despite the issues, I’m keeping it as 5 stars. It’s the only keyboard that satisfies all of my needs: Media buttons and volume slider, tenkeyless, wireless capabilities, and extra macro buttons.

I don’t like redragon mouse because the one I bought had a sensor issue. But I really like their keyboard. This is 3rd one I purchased from them. I also tried out more well-known expensive brands but I couldn’t find big differences other than price.
I’ve been using this new keyboard for 2 weeks now and overall I really like it. The typing sound is great and I was surprised that stabilizers were lubed like high-end keyboards. But some switches were defected so I had to replace them with the extra switches that came along. If your shift bar, enter key, back space bar or caps key has a mushy feeling and doesn’t react fast enough it’s because of the bad switch so just change it. Also, I changed the keycaps to make it prettier.

Pretty good keyboard. I’d say the wireless works fairly well, but do sometimes have periods where it lags which are random. Plugging in resolves the issue.

    Little on the light side.

I do like the wrist rest and moving forward would only by a mechanical keyboard with one. Helps with the higher key caps of mechanical keyboards.

Customer service promptly dealt with an issue where the keyboard was damaged in shipping.

Its a great keyboard and had no problems with it for the first year but the only thing that seems to be wrong is if you don't press the space bar directly in the middle, like on far right side for instance, there is a chance it becomes off its track and acts as a see-saw where the key is no longer being pressed down all the way therefore not registering. It was barely noticeable at first but as the keyboard becomes worn, it happens more and more frequently.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersLet's breakdown simple facts on this keyboard
Fact 1: G1-G5 macro keys do not work wireless. They only function while wired into the computer. A interesting situation considering that G6 – G10 worked wireless. I can’t understand the logic Redragon used to limited G1-G5 to only worked wired. Stupidity is a good word to describe Redragon’s decision to limit the keyboard’s macro keys. Why Redragon? Why???? Why?????

Fact 2: F2, F3, & F6-F8 secondary functions are redundant. These keys have dedicated buttons–previous, play/pause, next–and volume knob else where on the keyboard. You can’t reprogram them to other functions. Meh.

Fact 3: G1-G5 & G6-G10 have different colors when programmed. G1-G5 light up green while G6-G10 light up red when programmed. Meh.

Fact 4: Key caps decent for the price. I recommend switching them out for something else because their a bit ugly.

Fact 5: This keyboard’s software can be easily found on Redragon’s site. The side lights can be turned off. A huge plus for those of you who are using this keyboard wireless.

Fact 6: The included palm rest does the job. It’s not the greatest but it’s a palm rest. The magnets are strong. Okay.

Fact 7: The volume knob is fast. I don’t see lag when using it wired or wireless. Nice job Redragon.

Fact 8: Yes, it uses USB-C but the plastic housing surrounding the connector is slimmer than most cables. I have an abundance of Anker & Samsung usb-c cables & none of fit inside the keyboard’s port. You might want to find some slim cables.

Overall, this keyboard is great for the price. I wish the G1-G5 keys worked wireless because it feels like a waste of space with them not working while wireless. I do suggest you change the key caps because it looks prettier with white key caps. If you really want to make this keyboard better, then you spend money on changing the the body of it. At that point, you’ll just better off spending money on other keyboard. I’m going to keep it.

    Excellent keyboard
Just to set this straight first, I am not a PC gamer. I’m playing on Xbox and I wanted a keyboard that I could use for playing any games on Xbox using KB&M support. This one caught my eye because of its versatility with being able to sport a wired or wireless connection since I was still on the fence about how I wanted my setup to be at the time. All of the other features this keyboard offers is what kept my attention hooked. The only complaint I have which is more of a complaint for me and has nothing to do with the product’s quality is that I can’t really use any of the special features of this keyboard since I don’t have a windows computer to access the software with, which happens to be a .exe file. But other than that, highly recommend this one.

    – keys feel clicky and easy to type with
    – wrist rest is a great addition
    – comes with macros, which I’ll be using later
    – cool rgb customiztion
    – I’ve heard great things about the level of customization the software offers for this KB too

The spring’s echo that other review’s are talking about is there but it’s not that bad. There was someone in a review saying that he couldn’t find a way to turn off the side RGB lights but it actually can be turned off using the software from REDRAGON’s official website. Just go to their website click downloads, select keyboards and right the keyboards name then download the software. The software is great. It gives you full control of the keyboard’s lighting effects, macros, and pretty much everything.

Much greater than what I expected. Would definitely recomend it.
I really like this keyboard. It’s great form gaming and typing. It just takes some practice to get used to it while typing.

Good mechanical keyboard but with space for improvements
    A good mechanical Keyboard

    Good things:
    – Customizable RGB
    – Rechargable
    – Mechanical
    – Can be used wired and wireless

    Things that can be improved:

    – The software for the keyboard is difficult to find
    – The software doesn’t have the battery level

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersI got my Vishnu keyboard today. Awesome light show. Wanted to mess around with macros. The instruction manual says push "REC" key and and Macros key"G", type in the desired macros and then push "REC" again to save. Funny thing. There is no damn "REC" key. Spent 30 minutes looking for it. Finally, I just messing around with key combinations. Figured out how to record macros. It's the "FN" key. Hold "FN", push the desired macros "G" key, it will flash. Type in the desired macros and then hold "FN" and push the desired "G" key again to save. I've looked online at other Redragon macros keyboards and they DO have a REC key for recording Macros.

The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because of the distance of the wireless. Playing a game, i noticed a lag when the keyboard is wireless. That being said, the cable that comes with it is super long so I have just been keeping it plugged in instead. Absolutely great keyboard with amazing response times. Would definitely recommend. And if your keyboard is close to your tower (I am much further away then I should be) you shouldn't have any trouble whatsoever with the wireless.

This keyboard is great! WIreless connectivity is responsive enough for gaming without any issues, lighting is great, USB-C connector for charging is excellent. AND the media and volume keys work OOTB in linux without any additional software. VERY happy about that. The switches are outemu reds, they feel like reds, they are very responsive, not clicky like blues (as expected with reds), What a great keyboard!

Great sturdy mechanical keyboard at a reasonable price.
Nice Mechanical wireless keyboard, switches are linear red. Slight ping noise when typing and the rgb lighting has a lot of great options.

When the brightness is maxed there is a slight buzzing sound from the keyboard, must be electrical noise or a cooling fan.

Great keyboard all in all. Comes with a braided charging cable.

FYI my manual said press alt + esc to get to FPS mode, but after messing around I found that it is actually alt + ~ to switch over to FPS mode.

Very comfortable and amazing to use for gaming :)
I purchased this keyboard after initially buying the Redragon Surara K582, but returned that product due to it feeling uncomfortable and hard for me to get used to. Seeing as this came with a wrist rest, I wanted to try out how this felt, and it feels amazing. This keyboard comes with a wrist rest and can be used wireless/with a USB-C cable, but I have not tested the wireless functionality as I like using keyboards with a cable. I purchased this keyboard with the Outemu Red switches, which have a slight ping noise when you bottom out/mash your keys; however, when typing lightly you cannot hear the ping noise as much. This problem might be solved by lubing your switches with some kind of dielectric grease, just remember that your warranty will be invalid once you make any kind of modded changes to your keyboard. I personally do not mind the noise, but just keep this in mind when you’re buying cheaper mechanical keyboards in the market.

    Pros:
-Comes with RGB and additional software to customize your keyboard
-Software is easy to use, just download it off the Redragon website
-Comes with extra Outemu blue, brown, red, and black switches (2 of each)
-Keyboard has additional lights on the sides (these can be turned off)
-Can be used wireless or with a USB-C cable
-Wrist rest can be easily attached/detached and is comfortable to use despite being a hard type of plastic

    Cons:
-None so far, but I will update my review if I find any problems 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally enjoyed the layout, switches, and dedicated volume knob. However when the back lit keys are on there is a audible whining noise that was louder than my PC. got replacement thinking it was just "this" keyboard, but the noise was still there. I ended up returning it, if they can fix the rgb noise, i would happily buy again.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBeen using this keyboard for a couple weeks and I'd give it a 4/5. While the build quality is very good with a solid feeling keyboard, when you press firmly on a key it echoes through the shell like a tuning fork sound. You get used to it but still. Also the volume knob only seems to work while the keyboard is plugged in and not wirelessly. The battery life seems good but I do have the r.g.b. lights turned off. The extra "G" keys are ok to have but I can't seem to get them to behave like regular keyboard keys in terms of speed and frequency. Would I buy it again, yes but only because there is no other keyboard with good battery life and decent build quality. I don't use the wrist rest cause it tapers down and is sort of useless. I do like the USB C type connector for the charge cable.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis keyboard is a lot more quality than I originally thought it would be. I love the cherry red switches. The nice quiet typing that gives a nice feedback. Wireless connectivity is spot on and I notice no latency issues when playing online competitive games. There’s also a lot of different patterns you can put on the keys for the RGB lighting. Very happy with this purchase.

    A very good gaming keyboard!
I have wanted to review gaming hardware from Redragon especially their RGB mechanical gaming keyboards.

And I am reviewing there Redragon K596 Vishnu 2.4G Wireless/Wired RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. This keyboard utilizes OUTEMU red linear switches and is good enough to last for 10 hour playtime via wireless. It comes with a magnetic wristrest as well.

For those confused about the term blue switch, brown switch or red switch, blue switch are loud keyboards, brown switch is not as loud and red switch are quiet.

Granted, if you want the quietest gaming keyboards, look towards gaming keyboards which offer cherry red switches (I don’t like the feel of cherry red switches, but it’s great for those who definitely want quiet key strikes).

The keyboard is charged via a USB-C cable.

The keyboard is plug and play and features RGB backlighting with one single plug. Some keyboard makers have one dedicated for the keyboard and a second dedicated to lighting, this is just a single.

NOTE: You can download the software from the Redragon website to change to colors and various effects. As well as set the delay, speed, etc. And to update the firmware.

I like how the lighting is on the keyboard and underneath on the sides of the keyboard.

I would run an update on the software, which would upgraded the firmware to 1.01. You may get an error at first that says the software app could not install on the hardware but seconds later, you will see that the update of the firmware is successful.

As for the keyboard itself, it has a 2400mAh battery good for 10 hours. The keyboard has a 10 key-less design with added macro keys and dedicated media keys. On the upper right, you can mute volume. There is a button to activate volume or LED control, you can forward or go back a track and a pause button and also volume control (or LED brightness control).

The keyboard offers 40cN force which allow for easy strokes and 2mm actuation point for responsiveness. The macro-keys are easily programmable.

It comes with a magnetic detachable wrist-rest which is not that great, so I take it off.

You also get about eight extra optical switches.

As for keys, similar to other gaming keyboards, Redragon does use a stylized typeface for their keyboards. Some people may not like this.

But overall, the Redragon K596 Vishnu is a good gaming keyboard. It’s not super quiet, as one can hear my finger clicks compared to my brown switch keyboards. But I do like the extra things added on this keyboard, such as the programmable macro keys and the media controls, which are a plus!

    Definitely recommended!

    Good quality with Minor Issues!
This is my initial review for the Redragon K587 , and I’ll continue updating it as I use it.

    Like:
    + Strong build quality
    + Dedicated media controls
    + Optical blue switches
    + Intuitive design
    + RGB backlights keys
    + 18 RGB modes
    + RGB side lights
    + Easy to use
    + Compact design
+ Detachable Wrist-Rest connected by magnets
    + Macros
    + Ergonomic design
    + Type C USB

    Dislike:
    – Expensive
    – Ugly font
    – Blue switches are very loud and clicky
    – Some keys double clicks like the N and the backspace
    – No USB A outputs for charging other devices like Razer

    Conclusion:
This is a solid, compact design TKL mechanical gaming keyboard but I found some minor annoyances, but could be just a defective unit that i received. I would still recommend it though, but not for pro gamers, a wrong move could cost us a lot in competitive matches.

I would say this is a good budget and space saving keyboard. The first thing I will note about this keyboard is that the keyboard is very quiet being a red switch. You hardly hear the pressing. The responsiveness of the keys are also very nice whether it be wired or wireless. Another thing about the key set up is that there are openings on the bottom and edges making it easier to clean. You can easily just spray air into the sides and collect it at the other end. Although you can easily pull the keys off, with this feature you do not have to do that unless there is tough dirt under the keys. The keys themselves feel pretty nice. The symbols and letters are printer on and not laser edged on. That being said if you use the keyboard a lot it may start to fade the print overtime. so you I do not really see any lag time whether you are using wired or wireless which is nice. The battery life is nice. I would not say it last 10 hours as advertised. With all the LED lights on and depending on how close or far you are to the dongle, your keyboard could last nine to eight hours of solid keyboard game time. It does have a sleep mode so you do not have to switch the keyboard on or off. One press will turn the keyboard back on and even wake up your computer. There is a nice wrist grip. What is nice about this is that you do not have to hook it to the keyboard. I have bad luck where the hooks on the keyboard actually break. This one uses magnets so you do not have to worry hinges breaking. The grip however is not a smooth solid surface. It is more of a rough surface to prevent you from slipping but it does trap dirty and stuff between the creases unfortunately. There is no number pad on the side but for most games I have seen those are not really needed. Also without the number pad it is easier to fit the keyboard on a smaller table. It gives you a bit more room on your desk for sure without having the number pad. There is a volume wheel and media keys on the top. The media key I cannot figure out how to stay lit. It shuts off after not being used overtime. Although I do not use it as often I feel some would want to have this available when watching movies on their computer. The connection distance I would say is about fifteen or so feet before you run into lag issues. You can run this keyboard on wired alone. The wire is connected directly into the keyboard and you can use the keyboard while it is being charged. There are several (18) programmed light settings that you can use. Unfortunately you cannot customize you own but I found a few to my liking just scrolling through the defaults. The LED lights are not too bright where they would be distracting, but strong enough that I can see the keys pretty clearly. The gaming experience is nice for a wireless keyboard. I do not have any issues with commands and button response. Overall I think this keyboard is a great addition for a budgets gaming keyboard. It provides good response time while also providing decent battery life during gaming. The only issues I found was that the media keys do not stay lit unless you press them so if you are in the dark you could have a hard time finding them.

I've never used any gear from Red Dragon, and I've never used a mechanical keyboard that's wireless. These two concerns proved unwarranted. For starters, this is a very well made keyboard. Keypresses yield a rewarding and productive click, and you can configure the backlighting however you see fit. Wireless use is a nice plus, and it's responsive. I ended up using wired 99% of the time, but it's nice to have a wireless option when needed.

Very cool wireless keyboard . Cool lighting and good feel for gaming and long typing. Longer keystrokes good button placement, roller for volume control. Magnetic wrist rest makes using this keyboard more comfortable.

My first purchase was the Redragon K85 one handed gaming keyboard. I liked the quality, look, and definitely the price. Just after a couple days of using it I purchased the K596 Vishnu wireless/wired keyboard. Guys if your looking for keyboards Redragon is tops at this point. The quality is so much better than Razer, Corsair, and even Logitech. You will not be disappointed on your purchase or even giving it a second thought.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersGreat Keyboard
    **First review, Dec 30, 2019**

So I got the K596 Vishnu after hours of research, and I’m immediately more than impressed. I paired it with some HyperX Double Shot caps. This keyboard has everything I’ve been looking for – TKL, macro buttons, red switches, super customizable lighting, side lighting, and media control… all at a great price.

The good- It’s heavy with a great looking base and won’t be moving around during a heavy gaming sesh. I really love the fact that you can customize the LEDs to many different colors and effects down to the color of each key, all aside from the top macros and media buttons (as far as I know). There’s even white and the option to turn them off. The red switch version I chose is way more responsive and smoother than the brown keys I’m coming from and are now my favorite type of switch. The media controls work great. I can pause videos or streams with the media pause/play button. There’s some subtle LED lighting on the sides of the keyboard which are also customizable to solid colors or rainbow with optional effects as well. You can go wireless with this keyboard if you want. The legs for the keyboard actually make a noticeable difference that I greatly appreciate. Finally, the craftsmanship behind this keyboard feels great. I can already tell this thing was built to last. That’s what I love about Redragon. The first mechanical keyboard I bought was a red LED Redragon keyboard that I got for $20, and it lasted me two years until I just decided I wanted something with more colors. I’m really happy with my purchase and can’t stress enough how great it is (:

The only personal negatives about this keyboard for me is with having the forced red LED lights for the media and macro buttons up top. My color theme is usually red with something else, so it’s not too much of a bother for me.

The only thing left I want to mention is I’d love to see a pricier Redragon TKL “Esports” series just like this with discord and game integration *nudge* *nudge*

**Updated Review as of July 1, 2020**

I still love this keyboard but I’m going to be removing a star for two reasons. The first one being, after about ONE month of use, I noticed a few of my keys weren’t activating when I pressed it. Now, 6 months later, I’ve had to replace at least 15 switches. Replacing them fixes the problem.
I would have gladly paid an extra $20-40 bucks for better switches. Someone buying a keyboard like this is clearly going to be using it a lot and needs good switches.
Regardless, this keyboard and the price, even with replacing better switches, was well-worth it to me because it has everything I was personally looking for.
The second reason I knocked off a star is because suddenly the LEDs for the macros to the right are stuck green. I can’t change them via software or the keyboard itself. I believe it’s a software issue and informed Redragon about it but haven’t heard a response about it yet.
This keyboard has kept me mostly happy for 6 months, but I can’t say I’d buy it again unless they made a version with reliable switches.
