Once you use these you’ll never use a hammer and nail again. Great product, makes hanging pictures a doddle. Use 2 strips on small lighter frames. And at least 4 strips on heavier frames. No need to damage the wall and the strips can be removed easily.

Used this to hang a big foamex print on the whole. Works well. Can easily take down and put up again.

Fantastic product. Not cheap but worth every penny. If you want to reposition pictures, posters etc. Command strips are easily removed without marking painted walls. I have used these to jazz up my kitchen with lightweight metal advertising signs and they have been very easy to use and effective.would recommend this product.

I did hope these would be better. They are fine for very light frames but even though I followed the instructions very carefully the pads do not always stick! I have ended up putting a nail in the wall for the larger frames, just to be on the safe side and only used the pads for the very small frames.

I’ve used Command strips for a while, starting with the double sided sticky ones. Learned the lesson the hard way on those that you need to keep the tabs sticking out, otherwise you can’t remove them and they rip the paint off the wall.

These go some way to solving that issue with the single side sticky and single side velcro solution. Hanging picture is made very simple by sticking pairs of these around the frame, removing the backing from the sticky side and pushing directly onto the wall. If you need to move, or take down the picture, the velcro gives way before the glue, and you can then use the tab to remove the pad from the wall.

There was a slight discolouration of paint behind a tab I moved recently, but not enough to worry about.

Packaging – came undamaged, and on time

Quality – excellent I use two of them per small frame and 4 for larger ones and they work a treat. No issues when taking them off the wall or frames they leave no damage or residue.

Price – very god value for the price, you get both small and large strips and more than enough for hang a number of frames with.

Got these as in a rental property and didn’t want to put holes in the wall, easy to put up and they last well, I have only had a couple fail but that was after about a year, more picture frames to go up so getting these again, I have even used them for hooks for headphones to mount on the wall. Not as good as hammering something into the wall but if that’s not an option then these are next best thing.

I liked the different sizes in the same pack. Didn’t have to buy different packs. They have worked well with both heavier framed pictures and simple canvases. There is no mark on my painted walls and they are easy to remove and reposition. You need to press for the full 30 seconds to ensure good adhesion. Will buy again.

I’ve been using those to attach whatever I want to the wall without damaging it. The velcro makes it easy to remove and attach again.
I attached the automatic perfume sprayer to the bathroom wall and got it out of my face (literally). It works, even with all the humidity, it stays there, and the velcro makes it easy to take out to change the cylinder inside of it.
Some baby stuff as well, super useful, as it allows my son to detach it from the wall without destroying it and allows me to attach it again easily.

I have used these hanging strips for some time now and they do the job well. They do exactly what is claimed and are easy to use and easy to remove (leaving no marks on the wall). Nothing has fallen down yet! I don’t know where the pipes and cables run in our house and these get around the problem of drilling the wall.

I ordered these because I wanted to hang pictures on my wall. The product comes in two sizes. I used the larger size to hang a fairly large canvas painting on my wall and it has been over a week now and the painting is still on the wall with no problems.

I used the smaller size to hang a smaller painting and had no issues.

The product is easy and straight forward to use, does what is says it will do and is fairly priced.

The product has good adhesion and is therefore adhesive enough to keep things on the wall.

I have attached the pictures I hung on the wall using the product. I recommend this product as a damage free way to hang things on the wall. I wish I had learnt about these sooner as I would have hung up more things long ago.

    Will definitely be ordering more

Used for hanging framed posters, far cleaner than having to put hooks in the wall, I have a number of frames up for a couple of months now and no issues with these strips durability, still holding and look like they will never come down until I decide to pull them myself.

Golden Review Award: 74 From Our UsersI’m a professional picture framer, making bespoke conservation level frames for limited edition and original artworks. As you can imagine, I also collect a fair bit of art. However I do live in a rented flat at the moment, so I’m limited as to what fixings I can use to hang artwork, Command Picture Hanging Strips have proven themselves time and time again to be perfect for my situation.

In total I have about 40 frames hung with Command Picture Hanging Strips, some have been up for about 5 or 6 years and some just a few weeks. I’ve never had any problems sticking anything up, they’re very straightforward to use, and I’ve never had a single frame fall in all those years. Even some that were stuck on paint that looked a little flaky!

The largest frame that I’ve used these on is 3ft x 4ft (90cm x 120cm) which has now been in place for about 4 years without issue.

As you can probably tell from the photos too, we regularly add pieces to our collection and have to reshuffle our salon-hang style walls. The command strips peel off really easily with no residue and never taking any paint with them, then it’s just a case of re-sticking what you want where you want. No drilling holes or filling in old ones with plaster than trying to match the paint accurately after it’s subtly faded. In fact even when I do buy place in the near future, I’ll be sticking to using these to hang artwork rather than filling my walls full of holes.

I'm a professional picture framer living in a rented flat, these work perfectly.

Absolutely amazing. I had my doubts about how good these things could actually be, so I just bought a sample pack to try them out. I was totally impressed and immediately bought more. My wife is an artist and with these tabs she can display her paintings in all kinds of setting without drilling holes or leaving marks on walls. They reall are amazing.

    Such a useful product!
It’s over a week that I used these on some canvas paintings do decorate the walls and it they are still on. On the small ones I used only one medium tape on the top and on the bigger ones two tapes in total, one on the right and one on the left side. Definitely worth using for rooms that you don’t want to damage the walls.
    Definitely recommend!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersSince moving into a new home we’ve been busy putting up pictures and mirrors all over the place. I didn’t want to go the hassle of trying to find studs in walls and all that rubbish so we opted for some command strips.

These are just a godsend, we’ve bought probably 8 packs of different sizes so far including the nail head version and they’ve all worked perfectly. Nothing has fallen down, we’ve had no wastage they’ve just been great.

The majority of these have been on painted surfaces I might add rather than paper. I’m sure they would work on paper but you’re relying upon the strength of the paper really rather than the command strip!

We followed the instructions on the packet but actually gave it 24 hours before hanging anything just to be on the safe side and as I say they’ve been great. We’ve hung pictures of various sizes, prints of various sizes, a bathroom mirror, and a large clock although we used the nail head version for this.

These things definitely do what they’re supposed to do – stick the velcro strips together and stick them to the the back of the picture, peel off the “wall” side backing and stick them to the wall. That’s the good bit. However, you then have to remove the picture for an hour so the adhesive cures on the wall. That’s ok too, but I guarantee you will never line up the velcro strips on the back of the picture with the ones now attached to the wall perfectly. No matter how exact you originally stuck the picture to the wall, you just won’t get it 100% again!

However, in reality, your picture probably wasn’t perfectly level anyway so no harm done!

Bottom line is, these are an easy way of sticking pictures to your wall without using screws and nails. Just a bit of a faff that you have to remove the picture after initially sticking it up.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI quite honestly don’t know how these work. And when I don’t understand something, it scares me. I’ve asked the priest to come over and take a look for me, but he’s “too busy for such things” at the moment. Understandable, I suppose. If anyone on Amazon can help explain how these manage to keep up my pictures could you let me know? I might then be able to pass the hung picture without having to say a little Hail Mary to myself. I must say that these were not my first choice of mounting option – but i had no other choice due to utilities located in the wall where i needed to mount something. So far so good – they are holding strong and i am quite impressed. As with most sticky strips there is a slight gap between the item and wall caused by the thickness of the strip, but nothing too bad.

For someone who has never used these, its like a ‘velcro version 2.0’ – there is a sticky bit for both the item and the wall, and they interlock when pressure is applied like velcro (and can be seperated if you need to too), but the 2 main differences are the command adhesive – which has a release tab that (supposedly- i’ve not tried it) keeps your surface damage free when taking them off for good, and there isnt a ‘hook’ and a ‘loop’ side – both are quite rigid ‘strands” that do not catch on things like fabrics etc when not mated with another piece.

Im not going to go round and replace all nails and screws with these – they are quite expensive in comparison – but they are a suitable alternative to nails and screws in my experience so far if thats what you are looking fo

Needed these for a research project. I found that they do hold insanely well, provided you do the proper prep first.

When I didn’t clean and prep a point then they would fail. Points I prepped and cleaned before mounting and allowing to sit for the recommended 24 hours are still holding almost a year on with a heavy object mounted on each.

Painted surfaces work better than plastic, but also it’s all down to cleaning first before mounting and that first 24 hours to bind somehow works wonders.

I first used these almost four years ago to easily put up a variety of picture frames (both large and small) in my flat. In that time, not one has fallen off or even come loose.

These make it very quick and easy to put up pictures without any need for putting up picture hooks or drilling holes.

I have only every removed a couple of pairs of these strips and found you do need to be really careful and follow the removal instructions exactly. I was a bit too quick taking some off and they took the paint off the wall! With others, I was slow and careful and they came off fine and didn’t take the paint off.

We used these for the first time to hang up our own collage of photos. The frames we bought were quite lightweight so there was no concerns about the strips holding up the frames. However, I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, that may they might not be up to the task. But we found this product very easy to use. We only had to remove one strip from the wall after placing it in the wrong place, but it came off without any fuss and no damage to the walls (but to be fair this was only on the wall for a few minutes at most). Would recommend for ease of use but think they are a bit expensive for the amount you get in the pack

Can’t recommend these things enough. Living in rented accommodation in London so drilling holes in walls is never really a wise decision. These things are the perfect solution. As long as the mounting surface is clean, these will hang anything you need. They can also be removed without stripping paint off the wall. Which means if you hang something then decide to move it, you would never know it had been there.

I’ve bought about 3 or 4 packs now and will no doubt be buying more once I run out. Absolutely fantastic.

I’ve used the small and medium strips on smaller picture frames to start. The strips are holding up! I have used them on IKEA Ribba frames where there is not enough frame at the back for the strip and they too, are holding. I have not removed the pictures yet so can’t say whether they mark the walls.

I was afraid of making mistakes when using nails and leaving ugly holes when removing pictures. These strips are brilliant. They seem to hold the weight and I haven’t had any issues since hanging several pictures. The only snag is if the corners of the pictures are not smooth and the the strip doesn’t attach. But I noticed this within minutes and I had to remove some corner wood triangle that prevented adhesion. I haven’t had the need to remove the strips ye

Really easy to use and fix to the wall /frame. I was a little dubious as I usually use hooks but needed to fix on a solid stone wall which I knew would be a nightmare to fix into. I had none of the issues peeling etc but I did have a tab on mine which you just lift up and simplicity itself. The click together is really solid, it is not like Velcro the two sections actually click together. Really recommend these.

They seem to work well. Easy to apply and because the pads are only on the frame there’s no need for any lining up (aside from hanging your picture straight, of course). The downside is they are extremely expensive. They’re just paper, glue and velcro, not cutting age tech.

  37. Anonymous says:

Very good and simple to use on the first time you use them. However once removed the adhesive becomes weak and unusable. Additional adhesive would need to be applied to sure of a good strong fix.

Got these to hang up a very small, lightweight IKEA corner shelf to display a couple of figures on it. Has been up a few weeks now and no sign that it might fall. As a textile artist specialising in patchwork these strips have revolutionised the way I can do my work. I make small pieces which can be used as wallhangings – stuck to walls and doors by these strips Removed and washed in the washing machine when they need washing, ironed then put back up again if I want or thrown over a table and another piece stuck on the wall on the same Command strips. I do find the name of the product odd but the functionality is absolutely ace.

I used the product on a tapestry to hang in my bedroom. Tapestry is made of light cheese cloth (Urban Outfitters Tarot Card to give you an idea) and is hanging at present. I hung it on painted wall which was cleaned with rubbing alcohol as instructed. It is attached at present and will update if anything changes. I was able to remove the product after sticking it on for 30 sec as I needed to readjust the level of the tapestry. I did not reuse as I had spare strips and did not want the tapestry to fall off as I was not using it on a frame. (as was intended). Product came undamaged and easy to remove from packaging. I will also update when I use it to hang frames.

Work pretty well, struggled to get them to work on a larger frame that didn’t have a very solid backing. Definitely check that the back of your frame would touch the wall before assuming you can use these, I found that some frames that typically required hooks offset the backing slightly and that can make it tricky to use the command strips. Otherwise they work well and time will tell how they come off the wall.

I recently got these to hang up some canvas prints – I was worried that it would not adhere properly to it but so far so good. (The canvas is stretched over a wood frame, and the command strips had no problem adhering to it)

It was very easy to apply the strips and put the prints up and after a few days up, it’s still holding strong. I used 4 of the medium strips as the size was quite large and wanted to make sure they stay up.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo far so good!
The paintings in the photo are my own work, and it’s so great to finally get them on the wall and displayed.

I just did what you are advised to do – fasten each pair together, press, peel one side, press the sticky side to the inside edge of the canvas and give it few minutes to ‘stick’. Then peel off the remaining side and place where needed on the wall.
I stuck it very gently until I checked all was level etc, then pressed more firmly and left well alone!

Size and weight wise, the canvases are mostly A4 and A3, and although not very heavy, they are good quality so a bit heavier than similar available in high street stores.

I haven’t tried removing any yet so have taken a star off, just in case. However I don’t see there being a big problem, and if any paint comes off it’s quick and easy to cover with a dab more paint.

    Hanging paintings, no problem!

Five months after regular use (extending mirror the arm to its full length, constant adjustments of the mirror, steam from the shower, etc), it still remains affixed to the wall.

I did try to peel off the wall to test but frame would not budge- this is a positive for me of course as i dont intend to take it down any time soon and it also shows how secure it is so we dont hear a sudden crash in the night and mistake it for an intruder! :-p

Great idea in principle. I have installed a bunch of framed artwork in my study and for some frames it was easy but one in ten gave trouble. Its critical to have good surface area to adhere to – the surface type is important too- paper backing on the rear of frames can be loose if older and may give way. Narrow framed pics have less to fix to and clip frames are a no -no. Wall surface needs to be smooth and paperless (My wall is a plain papered one but has a vinyl surface coating . Most of the time this seems to be ok .
Give each ‘half’ a chance to adhere to the wall or frame, then line them up carefully and press the two halves together firmly and you will her a velcro ‘click’ which should show things are ok
Having said all this , when they hold they are very good, quick and simple. but you will often need 4 per frame which seems over the top and can make it expensive.
In principle they are a great idea as long as you use enough to ensure the load is even.
My recommendation is try it but be cautious as you apply.
+++++ Update Jan 2020 +++++ Occaisionally the odd one ‘loosens’ at the velcro joint, so once a month just go round and carefully push them together against the wall for 10 seconds and they’ll be ok.

  52. Anonymous says:

A great selection of picture hanging strips. They are easy to apply, simply by applying one to the wall and one to the picture and pushing firmly together. Personally i get the two strips and squeeze them together as if they were joined in situ. I then peel one strip backing off and fix them to the picture. Once they are ready, i peel the other backings off and offer the picture up to the wall and push into place where i want it. This way you can be sure that the two strips line up.

You can remove the strips easily by pulling the tab. It works most of the time but where i have had dodgy paintwork it sometimes pulls that away too, but that is no fault of the strip.

I find them extremely reliable and rarely fail. A quick, easy and non obtrusive way of putting pictures up…. ideal for rented accommodation with landlords that don’t like nails in the wall!!

I have also gone above and beyond the recommended sizes and weight limits for the strips….. still no issues

Great buy, and will hang plenty of pictures or other type of hanging item

The only thing I didn’t like is the wording and the fact you need two for each corner and middle if the canvas is particularly large, not knowing how they worked or what they were like I thought when the pack said four pairs it was enough for two pictures but it’s for just one so had to order more.

I used these for a small mirror to start with in the bedroom – this took hardly a few minutes to add the strips and hang in place. Excellent and strong strips as described however they work best if you do not remove them and stick them elsewhere as they will lose their strength.

These are really tough heavy duty velcro with strong adhesive to fix to the wall and picture frame. They simply clip together and form a very form mounting. They are supposed to remove from walls easily and leave no marks but I haven’t tried that yet. I’ve now purchased another set so would recommend you try them if you need this kind of solution.

These tabs work well for fixing items to the wall with no damage. Just make sure you follow the instructions and you fix tabs both to the object and the wall place the object on the wall push for 30 seconds then seperate the Velcro allowing the tabs to ‘cure’ to the wall. Don’t be tempted to leave the item up on the wall straight away as the fixing will most likely fail. I would also use a couple extra tabs above the specifies weight as better to be safe than sorry. I have used these to secure a large height chart to the wall and they are brilliant would buy again.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThanks to the muppets who designed and built my house, putting a picture hook into any of the walls requires masonry nails. I kid you not – the interior walls are not rendered with plaster but concrete. The mind boggles. So when a friend recommended these strips to me, I was more than happy to give them a go. They’re like super specialist velcro but with little ‘T’ shaped filaments instead of hooks and loops. Each strip is the same – the filaments just mesh together and stick. When attached to the wall and the picture , they resist pulling downwards, but lift free when tugged outwards. The gum that holds the strips to the wall and picture is extremely soft and rubbery but sticks like anything. But if needs be, you can stretch it with the handy tab and remove it without ripping chunks out of the plaster. Genius.

I live in a rented flat so I can’t put neils in the wall to hung pictures or other staff. Luckly I discovered this amazing product which is quite easy to install (2 adesive straps: 1 for the object to hing and 1 for the wall) and doesn’t leave any marks on the wall in case you want to remove it. It is quite durable (few of them I have installed for more then 1 year now and they didn’t move an inch) and can old quite a bit of weight (in my room they old a quite heavy darts target made of solid wood, and in case you can use 2 or 3 of them to stay safer).

I haven’t used this type of hanging strip before so wasn’t sure what to expect. They’re certainly very easy to use; clean, fast and effective. I’ve only used them so far on relatively light pictures and other wall hangings, but they seem to work very well. I may be brave enough to try a larger size to hang a heavier wood framed picture.

These are ideal for minimising damage. No holes to drill, no danger of hitting hidden cable or pipe and no trace left if the picture is taken down. All in all I’m very pleased.

had 2 pics on the wall now for a few weeks and they are still there. Was a bit sceptical at first but they really work. Not sure I would hang anything heavy but for me the light pics it works. Will be great when I take pics down to put xmas decs up just put Velcro on the xmas decs and attach to the wall. Great quick easy and you can put things where you can’t drill because of pipes/electrics etc.

Purchased from warehouse so was always a good price, even at normal price they’re very well priced.

Does exactly what it’s meant to, used on a couple of medium frames so far, very easy to install, easy to take off and very quick to use.

Will definitely be buying more, in all shapes and sizes, it’s amazing how many uses you can find for them. We attached 2 pairs to every baby grow our toddler wears, if we need to pop out the room momentarily, we no longer have to concern ourselves with the havoc he could potentially get up to in the short space of 10 seconds, with multiple designated wall attachments corresponding to each item of clothing we can now simply attach him to the wall and peel him off when we return.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI absolutely love these Command strips. I’ve used them so far for a small, and two large pictures I have up on the walls and was easy to use and stick up. No problems and no issues with pictures falling down. I’ve even taken off one of the large picture frames and relocated to a new wall (using same strips) and it’s still holding up! A great alternative to drilling in a nails, and easy to do (as I’m not very good with DIY).

Given that I have a lot of posters, pictures and I’m renting, I need a way to hang them uk and not damage walls, and I have never damaged a wall in those 5 years

3M must be making a small fortune off of me since I need so many, but they’re absolutely worth the money and I swear up and down by the these things

Nice sticking strips, but I might be thick but it’s not too clear that you actually have to push the two velcro sides together once they are applied to the wall and the picture – and it’s not the old hook and loop system, both sides are essentially the same. Once you got that idea it’s a great product.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI was a bit sceptical about these. Was worried they would not hold on my Matt painted walls and pictures would come crashing down. Been up three days now and looks as if my pictures are going nowhere. Easy to apply, no more banging in nails, just apply to frame remove the backing and press firmly onto the wall. Could not be easier and I am definitely going to buy some more now I have tried them.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI hang all sorts with these. A year later and they still hold up. Stick to the weight notices and don’t try and cheap out by using one or two less when hanging something, the support must be even and that’s basic physics and not a fault of the product.

These are so much better than blutack. Items don’t fall off, and they don’t leave residue on your wallpaper. I had very dodgy wallpaper in a flat, I was careful removing these and they didn’t tear the paper at all.

Worth noting that if you have some you’re not going to use, leave them in a sealed container to keep the glue good, as I left mine on a windowsill and they lost their stickiness.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersBrilliant product that I’ve purchased a few times from Amazon and elsewhere.

The adhesive strips held a large canvas on my wall for a year with absolutely no issues. Peeling them off after a year was fast and simple. No marks were left on my wall – not even any discolouration!

The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is because of a difficulty I found in putting up the product. If you don’t succeed in putting a picture frame on straight the first time the adhesive loses grip quite quickly.

Just make sure you get it up straight first time, don’t let it touch the wall and then take it off again.

I’m not taking anything away from the product, it’s easily the best on the market in my experience. Fantastic. I’ll definitely end up buying them again in the future.

I bought some of these to attach a carbon monoxide detector above the door in my bathroom. It fell off a few hours later, so my experiment had failed. The good news is that it didn’t mark the paint at all.

However I have used these in the past with a picture frame which has been on the wall for about 3 years now and hasn’t budged. So they do work under the right conditions.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI used adhesive spray for attaching acoustic tiles to the walls of my studio in my previous home; when the time came to move and I had to remove the tiles, they caused considerable damage to the plaster.

So, I searched online for a solution and someone in a forum mentioned these little beauties. With nothing to lose and at very little financial cost, I thought I would give them a try.

Bottom line: I wish I had bought them years ago! They stick the tiles to the wall securely with minimum fuss and very likely minimal damage when they’re removed. For anyone else looking for a similar solution, look no further!

When we moved into our new house I made a pledge to only put pictures up with these strips and completely do away with the old picture hooks and nails. We have them holding up everything from small A5 frames to a huge 12ft world map print (with many, many strips it has be said) and they are without fault. For smaller frames and lighter use I’ve been cutting the strips in half to double the amount in the pack. This works well but be wanted that you;ll lose the easy-peal ability if you want to remove them later. You still won’t leave a mark on the wall, but it’ll just take a bit of picking to get them off.

I am always surprised by the weight they can carry and have used the large for hanging up items like whiteboards and paintings.
Recommend you follow the instructions carefully when removing the strips after use as pulling away from the wall (as opposed to directly down) can remove the paint or cause the strip to break.

These are just fantastic, I use them for EVERYTHING! To give you an idea of how strong these are, I use these for my solid wood tape blinds. yes I stick 4 together into each of the velcro bits, (4 in total stuck together) then peel of the back of one set, stick those two to the back of the blind bracket, then peel off the other side and stick to the inside of the window recess onto the wall – do this for both sides, so you will use 8 in total, 4 on each side – make sure that you press firmly against the bracket so it really is stuck on the wall part – no need to wait an hour, just slot your blind into the bracket and it’s sorted! I will upload a photo shortly, these are just fantastic! 🙂

BEST THING TO USE TO AVOID AWFUL HOLES IN THE WALL, AND THEY'RE STRONG TOO!!

Some of the backing you have to peel off require tweazers! Which made them time consuming to use. Also on a brand new painted wall and a brand new print, it would not hang one of the paintings which was disappointing. That said it did hold many others and a heavy mirror. If you have a wax type paper on the reverse of your paintings then these may not work. Otherwise they should Do the trick.

I’ve managed to use it for some small pictures, but the width of the strips is too wide for a medium-sized picture frame I wanted to use it for. They are really strong and the adhesive seems to last a long time – I had a 3/4 length wood frame mirror hanging with just two of the strips (placed 2/3 up the frame as per instructions) for two years with no problem. You have to be careful when removing them as if you go too fast you can take the paint off, but if you are careful they do come away with no damage at all. Doesn’t even discolour the paint.

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersSuch an ingenious alternative to drilling into walls.

We actually use these for a range of different items, but just recently to secure Fire/Smoke alarms to ceilings (2 medium size strips on each surface). Have had one alarm in place for over 2 years and just installed another. Never had a problem with it falling down and simple to remove for testing or redecorating. Just make sure you hear that full range of ‘clicking’ sound when you press the strips together, otherwise they may not be totally secure.

Whilst you don’t get a totally ‘flush’ finish when using these (because of their thickness) we find that these ‘Picture Hanging’ strips to be far more reliable than the double sided sticky strip variety that Command also make.

Small strips are 15mm wide x 35mm long (not including ‘tabs’)
Medium strips are 19mm wide x 50mm long (not including ‘tabs’)
Highly recommended – especially for lightweight items.

One tip : Like me, you may come across that irresistible temptation to repeatedly press together and pull apart the strips. It’s a similar satisfaction to that of popping bubble wrap! …….However, beware in doing so. I have a strong suspicion that this will actually weaken the integrity of the tiny plastic ‘hooks’ that these strips have.

Such an ingenious alternative to drilling into walls.

To repeat my review from other command items. I’ve yet to be disappointed with the range of command items I have used, whether using one for the first time or reusing one after removing as directed and applying with a fresh adhesive strip. However, unless one knows it is a perfectly clean and preferably new surface, it does pay to give the surface a wipe down with something like isapropyl alcohol first. For while I have never had a problem either on old or new surfaces with any of the command range, friends have had issues in places like kitchens if they haven’t wiped down the area first.

One word of advice: read the instruction before on how to remove them. You have to pull the part sticking on the wall sideways as indicated by the arrow. If you pull too hard on the velcro, then you can cause the wall paint to come off, so be a bit careful when taking things off…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI loved the idea of these, being able to hang stuff without having to put holes in the walls, and well having had a couple of pictures fall off the walls, when doors have been slammed etc. I thought I would give these a go.

It works on a ‘Velcro’ type design and the details suggested it could hold 2/3lbs in weight, so putting the picture on the scales and it not even registering 1lb I thought ‘BRILLIANT’, then I read further, they shouldn’t be used above beds or with valuable pictures, so even from their description they aren’t very confident of their ability. I carried on reading the instructions (very unlike me) and it suggested using 4 pairs of strips for 1 picture, which I think would mean I would get 3 pictures up with this pack…damn the nail idea is proving a lot cheaper now.

Anyway, I ignored the suggestion and carried on with just 2 pairs of strips and the first one went up so easy, I had to re-read the instruction to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. I got cocky and got another 2 pictures up in seconds.. (well minutes as you have to wait a minute to rehang the picture but you get the idea), but alas the 4th picture didn’t go to plan with 2 of the strips coming off the wall when you peel the picture back.

All in all, I think they are a great idea, the way forward instead of spending how long drawing lines all over your walls, making sure the nail(s) are all straight and then the things fail anyway and leave a hole in the wall when you decide to decorate. Maybe when they come down in place a bit it will change the way we hang stuff!!! It’s the Future…but it’s not perfect yet.

I can’t speak for heavy items, but these strips do an excellent job of hanging up light canvas pictures. The strips I received came in three different sizes (I was expecting only two), and I found that the smaller and lighter the picture, the smaller – and the less – strips were needed. They are simple and straightforward to use; they only require pushing together, peeling one side, sticking the peeled side to the item, and then peeling the other side before attaching the item to the wall. I would have rated them higher, but either Amazon’s description of how many of each size there are was incorrect, or I was sent the wrong item by mistake: the description said there were 8 medium and 4 small, but I was given some large in place of one of the sizes (I forget which now, as it has been a few weeks since I used them), which are thicker so would have looked odd if I had used them on the same picture as the medium/small strips. Overall, though, I was very pleased, and I’ll buy more the next time I want to hang up something light.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe use these hanging strips for canvases we have around the house – they’re pretty easy to use and seem to do the job quite well. There were some that came off too easily when we took everything off the walls to repaint the house though, so it’s affected my confidence in them as I wouldn’t be impressed if the house decorations just started dropping off the walls!

Each strip needs to be paired with another the same size via a velcro-like fixing method. This then ensures there are two strips back to back with the 3M adhesive on. Following that, just make sure the two surfaces you’re sticking them to are clean, then just stick it on, apply pressure for a minute and let go.

When you need to remove them you just separate the velcro-like arrangement and there’ll be a strip left on the wall, just pull down on the tab (not away, definitely DOWN!) and it’ll come off the wall without a mark.

These are decent if you have plasterboard walls and don’t want to be drilling about. They’re also really useful for multiple-panel canvases – for instance where you have one picture separated into two or more separate canvases. It makes keeping them level easier as you just match them up then apply pressure, rather than sticking a screw in the wall first.

These command strips are fantastic. We have used them all around the house, even though we own our home it saves having the drill holes everywhere. We have a lot of photos and art on our walls. Even better if you rent your home and don’t want to drill holes.
I’ve not had one fall down yet but I’ve always been aware of the weight recommendations on the back.
Really good for canvases that you can’t add hooks to and we found them handy for our little girl’s toy mirror, she can take it off of the wall and put it back on (almost) by herself at 18 mo.

I wasn’t sure about this product before purchase. How much can a bit of velcro and sticky tape actually hold? I needed a solution to holding pictures on my wall in a rented house as the walls are new and I don’t want to mess up the plaster, even though he doesn’t mind. I’m glad I chose to buy them as I’ll be using them in whatever house we buy of our own. A great solution to not having holes in the wall. The only drawback is they’re not reusable but you can swap pictures around with others that have command strips on them. Easy to remove. Really pleased. One of my favourite purchases…ever. The first 3 pictures hung without any problem at all and I instantly loved the product, however the 4th heavier, but not too heavy to go against product guidelines, didn’t stick to the wall at all, I did feel that those particular ones were not as sticky as the first 3 I used. The only other difference I could think of was the first three were hung on normal matt painted walls ,were as the last one I attempted to do was fixed on to a wall painted with washable paint , maybe a factor or may simply be because the strips weren’t sticky enough.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI purchased two of these packs back on 27 Feb 2012, yes it’s been that long and now I have decided to leave a review. A lot of people will think these are just a gimmick and probably be scared to hang anything using these strips. All I’m going to say is think again and give them a try. I did and have no regrets.

Two and a half years on 12 of the 13 items I used the strips on are still hanging up on the walls and in that time have not fallen off the wall, fact. The one that did was not a picture frame but a 35cm x 60cm hanging Egyptian mat. The strips we placed on the wall were still in place but the ones we stuck onto the mat came off. The fabric sticks to strips for a while but the problem is the sticky surface on the back of the strip pulls at the fabric. The mat can defy gravity for so long before the weight of it will make it pull away from the strip and what your left with is a mat on the floor and the strips still on the wall stuck together with bobble on the back…if that makes any sense 🙂

The rest of the picture frames hanging up range from a 88cm x 57cm glass oak framed picture to a small 20cmx15cm. We used 6 large strips for the big picture frame and one medium sized for the smallest. All are still going strong. We were too chicken to hang up a mirror but seeing how the others have held up after this much time we might just order some more of these strips and give it a shot.

Our wall is a brick wall which has been plastered and then painted over. We stuck the strips directly onto the painted wall. We haven’t tried on wallpaper so cannot say how these strips work on wallpaper. All I’m going to say is make sure you measure out correctly exactly where you want your frames to hang first including where the strips are going to be on the wall and on the back of the frame. Mis-alignment will just waste time and if you keep removing the strips and sticking them back on then you might end up with a few wasted strips.

When we received these I stuck every single strip on a wall space, all strips were close together. Then throughout the day I kept sticking the other half of the strips to my wife’s back and bottom. Bless her she didn’t have a clue. During the evening I made up some excuse and got her close to the wall where the strips were stuck on. I leaned her against the wall and pressed her back against it and walked away. She remained stuck to the wall for a couple of minutes before she pulled herself away. It was hilarious, I’ve never received so many death threats in the two minutes she was stuck there than in my whole life. So you see these have more uses. Who say’s us oldies can’t have a laugh at 65?

Since I discovered Command Picture Hanging strips, I haven’t looked back. These hold pictures in place with no problem, whatsoever – just check the weight recommendations for the size of Command strip you are using. These are particularly great if you are in rented accommodation and don’t want to be banging nails into someone else’s wall. And when you want to take your picture down, the strips are easily removable and shouldn’t leave marks on the wall. They work by sticking a strip directly onto the wall and another strip directly onto your picture and then the two strips ‘velcro’ together. When you have removed the picture from the wall, the strip that was on the wall is really only fit for the bin, but you can reuse the strip still stuck to the back of the picture. Would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI`m plenty capable of using nails, hooks, drills and screws to support the many pictures I`ve got. But I would have been a lot happier if I hadn`t had to deface a newly decorated wall immediately, and had had some sort of good alternative. Which this certainly is. Once you have convinced yourself that they are a viable weight-bearing option, you shouldn`t have any problems. They are simple to use, and have very specific guidelines as to where to position the strips in relation to the weight of the frame. They do work too, in that nothing has fallen off yet, and I can see how easily you can remove them without upsetting your decor. I remain to be convinced that there will be absolutely no residue at all though…but I`m not taking everything off again just to make a point.
