    A Gourmet Kettle?!!? Who Knew!
My partner is a Nutritionist and so is always reading about new and interesting ways to eat and drink healthily. This results in an incredibly varied dinner most evenings, and in the last year or so teas!

I have High Blood pressure and have had so for years, and she suffers from High Cholesterol, we both don’t particularly like taking medication, and certainly, dont want to get to a point whereby we need more and SO…. we have been looking to Herbal Teas to help BOTH.

And so… what may you ask is the relevance of all this to the AEG Gourmet Kettle???? Well with Herbal Teas you can just boil a standard kettle and brew your tea as you would with a PG Tips tea bag… but if you do some research, there is actually a LOT of evidence that shows you get more benefits from your Tea if it is brewed at the perfect temperature, and this varies depending on the brew you are making.

This is NOT a cheap Kettle, and for a normal every day it is overkill for sure! But if you are drinking Herbal, or Gourmet teas, and want the PERFECT brew for both taste and nutrient extract, then you will not find a more premium kettle to do it 🙂

    Good looking kettle
Love the looks of this kettle and the price is the best I’ve seen it (60 at time of writing review).
As I’m a coffee drinker, the fact that I can set the temperature is great – wish I’d of ordered one sooner!
I found it easy to handle and quick to heat up. The water level indicator window is easy to read and the operating buttons simple to use.
I drink hot water and lemon a lot during the day and no longer have to top up with cold water – perfect drinking temperature! Temperature can be set from 40-100 degrees and there’s a keep warm button.
    Highly recommend!

    Worth every star.
I’ve rated this as a 5* kettle and it comes highly recommended. I am just away for a few days and I had to buy a new kettle. I got a cheap one from Asda. It was 15. It does the same job for the most part. Although this kettle from AEG is just something else. It’s incredibly good. It is jam packed with features including a keep hot facility which can keep your water at a desired temperature for a length of time up to 40 minutes. With precision like this. You can use this for more than just making tea. It can be used for tempering chocolate, cheese making, baby food, even making bread. Anything that requires water at a specific temperature.
It boils at a fairly standard rate. I have a one cup kettle in my bedroom and that boils in a much shorter time. But I’d choose this over it, due to the features it boasts.
The keep warm function is good for those who need a regular supply of water at a constant temperature. It’s really accurate.
To be brutally honest. I’ve only really used this product to make cups of tea and coffee. They taste great out of this beautiful thing.
We are so very happy to have this kettle. It wows on looks, it’s energy efficient, it has an amazing feature to keep water hot over time, but best of all Is the lights on the bottom which tell you what state your water is in. Basically its a countdown for how long it takes to boil. This is excellent. Reminds me of Kit Car from nightrider. Very cool. Happy to review this item as it is a real useful thing. Top marks. 5 stars *****

    Time for a cuppa ☕️
Bit slow at pouring as spout it tight.
Boils fast and keep warm function is great for having first cuppa of the day then taking my travel mug for on the way to work.
Definitely premium kettle so reflects price.
Dock is so easy to slip kettle onto dock.
Really happy with the colour as it matches my kitchen units.
Setting temperature for tea is actually accurate as I’ve tested with my food thermometer.

    I recommend this product.

    Sleek desig
The kettle does have a sleek design and nice finish. Kettle holds 1.7litres so when full is rather heavy. Temperature control is straight forward to use, there is an estimate temperature chart in the box but I prefer my coffee hot so always boil at 100, the keep warm button is alright but I haven’t used it that much as I found it constantly reboiling every 2 minutes. Makes a great cuppa
Hefty price tag for a kettle tho

It’s a lot lighter than I thought it would be. I’m not impressed with the kettle considering the price. But it does what it says. It boils water fine.

    Variable heat settings
The kettle comes packaged carefully in a printed cardboard box. It contains instructions that are little more than pictures with pages of written safety advice in different languages.
The kettle is a dark grey shade with a gentle sparkle effect. It is fairly basic in looks – not exactly designed to be aesthetically pleasing.
The base that the kettle sits on has controls and a lit display to indicate the temperature reached. Varying levels of temperature can be programmed from 40-100. There is a start/stop, temperature up, temperature down and temperature maintain button. All fairly obvious. The temperature maintain button is unusual. The kettle will keep re-heating itself automatically to maintain the set temperature.
Certain temperatures are better for different kinds of uses such as 40 for baking, 80 for green tea and 100 for herbal infusions so having a kettle that can be programmed to switch off at these temperatures is a great idea.
The kettle was fairly quick to boil though it is quite noisy.

    Great temperature control
It is pricey, but robust. Expect it to last minimum 5 years as it is AEG. Temperature control and a keep warm are excellent. Filtering could be better to stop limescale from the bottom of the kettle going in the drink. Hard water here, so need to clean often using white vinegar.

A well featured electric kettle at a premium price from a popular brand
This very well featured kettle by Electrolux’s upmarket AEG brand is part of their Gourmet 7 range that also includes a matching toaster. The AEG Gourmet 7 Digital Temperature Control Kettle is all about selecting and maintaining the correct water temperature you require for your drink — possibly more control than most people actually need. This is a well made and good looking kettle — as you would expect from this brand — and even if you don’t always need to use the various temperature control functions you can still get a regular kettle of boiling water by simply pressing the start button. This kettle holds a maximum of 1.7 litres and has a powerful 2400 Watt element for rapid heating — although not as fast as our simple old 3KW kettle! This AEG Gourmet 7 kettle sits comfortably on it’s 360 degree base and can be docked and undocked from any direction — it has a safety cut-out if there is not enough water, and a scale filter to particularly help those living in hard water areas. At around eighty pounds currently from Amazon this is a top of the range kettle from a premium brand that is ideal for those liking a wide variety of drinks prepared at different temperatures — others might be happier with a more basic model. We have used this kettle for a few weeks and grown to really like it, and like our other AEG products it beeps when it wants your attention! Certainly not a kettle for everyone but if you like the features offered it won’t disappoint, and offers decent value for functions and quality at the price — five stars.

    Excellent kettle
This is best kettle we have ever had. It looks great, simple and smart on my kitchen worktop. Dark grey makes water marks invisible. I like the kettle top, that is easy to open and pour water. At the same time it is easy to clean it. Keep heat function is awesome. I love that you can set the temperature and it stays warm for quite a long time. So many different temperature options, the temperature is shown as it heats up gradually so it starts from 40c and gets up to the desired temperature you wish . I also like the keep warm feature which not more boiling hot water that burn my childs mouth. The kettle is heats up quickly and so quiet. I am extremely impressed with this kettle and is my new favourite appliance.

    Wow!
Seeing a kettle at this price makes me wonder why it is so special, I now know!

This is one of the most clever and feature rich kettles I have used. Not only does it look great but it is packed with things that help with different tasks, saving energy and looks great.

With this kettle, you have the option to choose how hot you want the water. This is great for things like baby formula and different teas and coffees. It really is very specific to different uses.

It also keeps the water heated for up to 40 minutes, which means you can get it to the right temp in the morning, go about getting ready and keep the heat, so you don’t have to heat again. Or for a household with multiple people who want tea or coffee at slightly different times. This is great for using less energy and the water being ready exactly when you need it.

The matt finish is also very nice too. It looks very fancy on the side and with the thicker base with lights etc, it wont be out of place in a modern kitchen.

For me this is a fantastic kettle, the only thing missing for a real 2022 piece of kit, is smart capabilities. However that is bleeding edge tech, so for a normal kettle, this cant be beat in my opinion.

I really love this kettle, the best feature is obviously the temperature control and it’s a game changer.
This technology has been around for a long time but it’s the first time i’ve got my hands on one.

Turing the kettle off before it’s finished is now not necessary, something which should’ve changed years ago.

This kettle allows me to use the temperature i like my drinks at, some coffee blends taste so much better when they’re not burned by boiling liquid.

The kettle looks really nice in my opinion, it’s design says modern/smart with a matt finish.
It is a little bigger than my last kettle but it’s not a problem for me.
Overall, I’m super impressed with this kettle. it’s what i’ve always wanted.
    Would recommend.

    Substance over style.
I have to be honest. I don’t think this kettle is attractive at all. I’m disappointed by the way it looks but it’s a really great kettle in terms of function. I’ve never seen a kettle with adjustable temperatures before. It’s really handy for making hot drinks with as I know that using boiling water can scald coffee beans and make the drink taste more bitter, so having the option to get your water heated to a more appropriate temperature is really great.

    Nice modern kettle.

We use the kettle alot and this one is a good replacement.

It is modern and you can see through it which is quite stylish.

The kettle is 2400W which is quite powerful for a fast boil kettle.

Another thing good about this kettle is there are LED lights which makes it look good when boiling.

Can control how hot you want the water to be too which is an amazing feature as I have never used one like this before.

It’s 1.7litres which is a good size for us.

    Nice elegant design and colou

    Over-priced at eighty nine pounds
Full marks for packing this cardboard compressed rather than with styrofoam, which I am allergic to.

And although this is over-priced, in my view, it is a really nice kettle. It sits in a secure cradle which is where all the magic happens and makes it look super posh. Plus the lovely charcoal grey colour will suit almost any kitchen.

And the magic is more than a gimmick, incidentally, as any mother who’s messed around waiting for baby formula to cool down while their baby is crying knows. The temperature control covers every type of drink you’re likely to need and then some and it will even keep the water hot if need be.

I really like its big round lid that opens when you push a button, making it easy to fill and you can fill pretty much to the max with no spitting water out the spout, so everything has been thought of.

Nonetheless, I would walk on by if I saw this in a shop for eighty nine pounds. Call it seventy and I’m sorely tempted. Call it sixty five and we’re doing a deal.

    Time saver.
I have never owned a kettle that costs as much as this one, so I was curious to see just how much better it would be. For nearly 90, I can’t quite justify the price, but I must say that this kettle has some very nice features, and it works great. Instead of your traditional flick switch it is instead turned on via a stop/start button. There are also two arrow buttons which enable you to alter the temperature at which it boils. You can choose 95 degrees for a cup of coffee, or a lower temperature to be able to brew some tea. It is just as noisy as every other kettle I have owned, but it boils quickly and the keep warm feature means it doesn’t have to be boiled again if someone else wants a drink. It keeps the water warm for around 40 minutes, and the white lights give you a clear reading of how hot the water is. It is very convenient feature which makes life much easier. The fact that you don’t have to keep boiling it means that it also saves energy and that is a big bonus these days. Overall, I think it is a great kettle and although it is on the pricier side, I must say that I love it. The design is modern and the quality is top of the line, and the drinks taste great thanks to the spout filter. I can’t recommend it enough. 5*

    Kettle that can keep warm
Modern and stylish design, can quickly boil water. The sound decibel at work is a low decibel value, which is within the acceptable range. Overall it’s pretty good, feels and looks good.
40-60-80-85-90-95-100, 7 temperature adjustable. The constant temperature is maintained for 40 minutes, and when the water temperature drops to 2 degrees, the kettle will automatically heat up.
I like that the temperature can be set and it stays warm for a long time. It’s also quiet, so the overall design is great.

    Stunning kettle
This is my favourite kettle ever! It’s very pretty, lightweight and not as loud as my previous all around metal kettle.
I’ve filled the kettle in nearly to full and checked the time until water boils, roughly it was 3mins 35secs. The base is much bigger than other common kettle base that’s because of the control panel it has. We can switch the kettle on, select the temperature (from 40 to 95) or leave it to boil till 100C. There is reheat button on the right hand side with option to choose the temperature of the water. Its very handy and practical. Sometimes I wanted just to heat up the water without bringing it to boil but kept myself busy with something and forgot about the water.. so it boiled..then I had to add cold water to get the temperature I wanted originally. With this kettle I can do other things at the same time and kettle switches off when the temperature reaches the set level. Kettle makes beep noise when it finishes the job.
I really found this kettle amazing and very good looking (black-grey glittery colour).
The lid opens by touching the round spot on top of the lid. It opens up widely which I really like. My old kettle opens up half way and sometimes it wasn’t comfortable to fill it with water.
Kettle is lightweight, it has plastic body on the outside and inside metal. There is no other switches buttons on the kettle itself as they all are on the power base.
I also got the matching toaster which I also love. Them both are lovely match to my kitchen decor.
I absolutely love them. I’m not surprised why this kettle costs 80, its worth it.

    Quality kettle, nice colou
This is a nice kettle. Top flips open to let you fill it up. The base is solid. The temperature, on/off and keep warm function are all on the ‘lip’ on the base. There are lights to show the water temperature in 20 degree levels which is very useful – not just to set the switch off temperature but when the water is in the kettle. The weight balance is good. Does not feel out of balance when using it and pouring water. Overall it is a five star apart from one issue which seems to be the same with every kettle. The water level guide is behind the handle and impossible to read when you C are holding the handle to fill it up. It is at the best of times very difficult to read. In my opinion, they need to put the level guide on the sides and put a little red ball, or similar, in the measure area to make it easy to read.
Top line – a very nice kettle.

Noisy, slightly ugly kettle with very useful temperature control
The look of this kettle has divided opinion in this house. In a way it looks quite elegant, but there’s something about the large (kitchentop-hogging) black base unit that looks rather like the bottom of a 1960’s era Dalek. In black- sorry ‘graphite gray’- it’s a bit oppressive, and it won’t suit all kitchens.

Functionally though, the temperature control is a really key useful feature. The display showing the current temperature of the water lets you decide whether to reboil the kettle when you realise you needed two cups of tea instead of one (which happens surprisingly often in this house), and the ability to boil to a specific level is really handy for situations where you just want a specific level of warm rather than boiling. It’s an energy-saver, though if all you normally do with your kettle is boil water to 100 degrees for normal cups of tea, you won’t really make use of that feature very much.

It’s surprisingly loud, as kettles go. Somehow the base unit acts as a bit of an amplifier for the bassier tones, it’s a kettle that grumbles and groans like a long earthquake, not a very hissy sound yet really quite noisy.

It’s also not all that quick, surprisingly, despite it being fairly power-hungry at 2400W. As with another kettle we used to have (that wore out), getting to 90 degrees is fairly quick, it’s the last little push that seems to take the longest time.

I think this kettle really only makes sense for people who will really make use of the variable temperature targeting and keep warm functions. For more regular household use, it’s overkill and somewhat overpriced. For me it’s somewhere between 3 stars and 4 stars.

    Works perfec
Kettle comes arrive well packaged. The kettle itself is graphite grey, so basically grey but it does have some sparkles to it which is an attractive design, Its very easy to use.

The start stop is as you expect, like you on / off leaver. The up and down button increase and decrease the temp selection and the final button is a keep warm button. Up top on the kettle is a button to press which pops open the lid.

Now the highlight of this kettle and why it commands a premium is the number of temps you can select. 7 options is plenty and allows you to brew teas or warm water without boiling then adding cold water etc to balance things out, One person in house loves warm water with honey, so for them 60 degrees is good. Others, green tea at 80 degrees and others 100 degree for there black coffee, the ability to select temp works wonders here.

Now the stay warm button can be used to select any temp at 95 degrees and under. Makes sense really as at 100 degrees the water is boiling away. so you will need to drop the temp button down one if your at 100 degrees before being able to use stay warm.

A neat thing is if you select 100 degrees for example, the LED’s will light up as the water reach’s that temp. So if you select 100 but then want 80 degrees, simply take the kettle off / stop it once the 80 degree light shows.

Now its not the quickest boiler. Tap water (pretty cold at the moment to be fair) took 3 mins to heat up 1 litre to 100 degrees and turn off. Lower temps obviously were hit quicker as it takes longer for each step towards the end.

Either way, want a kettle with lots of temp options, you cannot go wrong here.

    Genius idea
    This is a great kettle.

I think the idea of being able to heat water to a precise temperature is such a clever idea. I can imagine that in 10 years’ time, every kettle will be able to do this.

When I used to make a hot drink with my previous kettle, I sometimes stood by the kettle and turned it off just before it boiled. I don’t actually like boiling hot water in my drinks. More often than not though, I would be doing something else so the water would boil and then I’d have to add a splash of cold water to my drink so it was immediately drinkable.

But this AEG kettle allows me to get exactly the right temperature for my drink. In fact, we’ve established in our household that different people have different temperatures that they like for their drinks – so when anyone wants to make a drink just for one person, they can get it exactly right.

Being able to heat water to an exact temperature means we should use less electricity. In the winter, being able to choose a temperature that is less than boiling will also mean less condensation on our windows.

The kettle looks smart – it has a matt exterior. Personally, I like things in my kitchen that are not at all garish. The foot print is slightly bigger than a normal kettle, but I’m more than happy to accept that it takes up a little more space for the ability to control water temperature so precisely.

Overall, I really like having this kettle. I’m very pleased with it.

    Fantastic quality
I have had my kettle for over 3 years so was excited to try this new kettle out.
It is all grey and has a black lid & base.
There is temperature control buttons on the base.
    40 60 80 85 90 95 100
I noticed with gravy and coffee, 95 is the best so it’s nice and hot!
The button to turn on the kettle is unlike a regular kettle, there is a start stop button on the base.
There is a anti limescale filter also inside the kettle. So perfect for where I live, as although I already filter my water I do end up with limescale accumulating in the kettle.
Overall I am very impressed with this kettle, looks stylish & feels great quality. Its also quite light too hold.
I do really like this kettle and it is worth a higher price tag but it’s still a little pricey so I would actually give this 4.5 stars.
