Love this thing, it reminds me to go open the window and get fresh air. Called them for suggestions of an air purifier to pair it with, and they gave me options and were super helpful.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersSince having this for four months I can say I really do think it was a worthwhile investment.

I live in a smaller 700 sq detached house with a crawlspace so I want to make sure my air quality is good.

I turned my radon fan off to test how the device measures and this device responds, going from green to red, so I know my radon system is working.

I installed a whole house fan a couple of summers ago and I’m also impressed with how fast I can clear out the CO2 levels with opening the living room window and turning on the WHF.

Also using this with a humidifier let’s me fine tune the humidity within my smaller house and make sure it’s not overly humid, causing mold and mildew growth.

Great for any space where you want to accurately monitor what you’re breathing in, thinking about buying another for the bedroom.

The main reason I purchased this was for the radon tester but have have also found the other readings very useful and interesting. Only had this device for three weeks but so far I am very happy with it.

UI is easy enough to use. Multiple contractors I talked to who specialize in radon mitigation systems claim these are very accurate compared to their professional tools when that have compared. Temp and humidity seems reasonably close to my calibrated hygrometer.

I mostly liked everything about this monitor. I noticed our CO2 levels go up but when I open the windows and doors the CO2 levels go back to good. The VOCs come and go and mostly stay low. The Radon level is good so far but it’s only been 5 days. They say you should wait 4 weeks to really make sure. The monitor gives you the current level as well as the average levels.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGood detector- i chose this over others because it monitors radon in addition to co2, volatile organic compounds, temp and humidity. They were easy to set up and the app has a nice user interface. I have used this to modulate opening windows, air purifier etc. one qualm which is not trivial is that the syncing mechanism could use some improvement; as standalones, they sync with bluetooth to your cell phone but only when in range, and it can take a few minutes depending on connection. I ended up purchasing the hub, because it made the sync seamless, but cost an extra 99$ and requires an Ethernet cable. I agree with others that the sync process without it was a bit frustrating. Now i am happy with the app and devices, but it took some more setup than i planned.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had passed a home Radon test years ago with a mail in test. Many neighbors have recently added radon abatement to their homes. I thought I should recheck my levels. I bought the upgraded Waved Plus unit for Radon and VOCs, since I spend lots of time in my basement workshop and also use a lot of chemicals. Super interesting to see the swings in radon levels and how one week it can be low and the next we are flirting with red levels.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI purchased this unit mainly for the radon level. It was showing around 50 pCi/L we had somebody come in and install a radon unit now it is averaging around 1.6 pCi/L it really proved itself to me after I had a unit installed and the numbers changed so drastically. It’s not like I told the wave plus that anything had changed in the house but it detected the change.

I purchased this so I could see whether radon was an issue at my house. Works as intended and has given me the peace of mind I was looking for. No need to send a sample to a third party, data is now just a click away. Pretty great.

There is no substitute for quality hardware when testing air quality.
It’s not just about good software.
You must have the very best sensor.
This tester is the most accurate of anything available now to consumers other than buying ultra expensive lab equipment.

This is easy to use and gives lots of information. Bought it to monitor radon in our basement but it also measures several other things. While it seems accurate (temperature registers very close to nearby thermometer) there’s really no way to really know unless you compare it to several random lab tests ($$$$). It tracks data, forms graphs and sends it to your phone. Really easy to use and, if accurate, really good product.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe have a couple lab readings over a couple years that were not consistent (2.3, 4.1) so I wanted something that would give me more data. This is exactly that. The fact that it doesn’t connect to my home network is fine with me…I just go to the device from time to time and it uploads the data that it’s been keeping.
I am able to now read the data and determine what is realistic for my basement. I’ve found that the pressure and the radon seem to be in somewhat of a sync. When pressure is low, radon is high. That reconciles with what I read online – the lower pressure in the house “sucks in” the radon through the foundation cracks.
The device serves the purpose that I desired from it. No issues, no frustrations, no other expectations. I’m so happy I got it so I can feel more informed when “mitigators” discuss my needs.

When you buy these things you are always suspicious on how well the sensors would work on a consumer device. Well, I am quite convinced that here the sensors do work and are fairly sensitive. The temperature and CO2 readings are in line with other monitors I have had in the past. I was most interested in the VOC sensor. What did it detect (if anything)? I accidentally put an alcohol infused wipe next to the Wave and it’s VOC reading almost immediately shot up. A few days later (already on purpose) I put a benzalkonium chloride infused wipe next to the device and again the VOC sensor detected it almost immediately. The color light is quite useful as a quick indication on when you need to air the room. Unfortunately with modern well-insulated windows air quality quickly becomes poor and you need to air often. Overall I would recommend this device, even if it is fairly expensive for a consumer device. It is the most comprehensive air quality monitor that I know of today.

I purchased 2 of these units plus the hub to place in our long, narrow apartment. We have a family of 4. After purchasing the first unit, I was shocked at the level of CO2 in our apartment. As with many apartments we have radiator heat and no mechanical ventilation of outside air.

Now, after using these units through the winter, we’ve discovered that we can not EVER close the windows entirely without experiencing a rise to the red zone of CO2. It’s clearly working well since both units at opposite ends agree but at different exact readings, and levels go down once we open windows, and sometimes we need to use a fan to ventilate further. We’ve also noticed an improvement in our quality of sleep, though we do need to use a good feather duvet as the rooms are a bit colder.

Modern insulation should not be used in any residence that does not have a mechanical air exchange system. While it does conserve energy, also the buildings cannot breathe or ventilate themselves. Opening a window for 10 minutes is useless because the CO2 soon rises to dangerous levels again. Ours have spiked at 1200ppm if we don’t leave windows open several CM.

Setup is very easy and the app and instructions show you exactly what to do. Once past your calibration period the air things seems pretty accurate and matches a couple of other devices I have in the same room.

Reason I bought it was to monitor the humidity and temperature for a guitar/music room and does the job great. The app is very well made and displays the live readouts and also the readouts over your selected period of time, very handy to know what the high and lows were through a day etc.

Product is a little pricey for what it is but if you’re into your air quality and willing to spend over the cheap alternatives that aren’t so accurate then this is a great buy. The swipe over the ring on top of the device is great for a quick insight to your rooms air quality and know it’s at good levels. Battery has lasted for ages only dropping 15% after 6 months.

Overall would recommend to anyone looking for a premium products that works well with app connectivity.

So, I got concerned with Radon and wanted something that would continually test the air in my basement. After looking some, I found this and it looked pretty reasonable for the price.

As far as I know, it is accurate in all the measurements (I have nothing else to compare it to, so I am trusting it).

The only issue I really have is the rating system. It will notify you (or, if you look at the dashboard) that something is high, which is good, but, it gives you a color rating that really doesn’t have definition behind it. For instance, the temp in my basement shows 76F and dark orange ish, but, when it hits 64F, it goes green. The total air quality does something similar where it will be a light orange, but it really doesn’t give you any definition as to why. So, just kind of an annoyance more than anything.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat product! Been using it for about 2 weeks now and have completed the calibration one week cycle. It has been detecting a drop in Radon levels in my basement filling a radon sealing application I applied to the basement slab just as I expected which is comforting to know the mitigation is working. Really interesting to see the high levels of VOC and CO2 when I have windows closed and A/C on, compared to very low CO2 and VOC’s with windows fully open. This sensor is instantly reacting to the air quality changes and very helpful to have that information so I know when to open a window or if there is something that needs to be addressed in the home to improve air quality that you’d never know about without this affordable air quality sensor. Highly recommend.

The App is very well laid out, however I would like to see an option to add benchmark notes at certain times/days to remark something about changes in the home that help explain air quality differences. I.e. all windows open, VS. Windows closed with A/C, without A/C, etc

It goes on sale occasionally (Prime Days) so look out for a good price about 30% less than $300

I wanted to optimize air quality in basement because my daughter wanted to sleep there in her new room. I first made a radon test with longterm accustar kit and my results were near the acceptable limit. I bough this to make test by myself to understand were radon can enter the home and i found that scealing my sunpump basin cover had helped to reduce the level significally. The radon can enter the house by the rain drain and the aqueduct drain because they meet in this basin. Outdoor weather also affect the level. It is a very good laboratory to understand air quality. I also understood how co2 get high when we leave the room door closed ( dont have new air recycling in each room). Thank you for this product!

    AA batteries. Motion activated.
Would be nice for it to light up red and stay lit when high levels detected instead of you having to manually trigger it yourself.

Home was tested by a professional for radon and the levels were high enough to require abatement. Bought the Airthings prior to the system installation and radon levels were about what the professional test demonstrated. Just like the professional test graft, the reading from the Airthings fluctuated. It took about a week for the Airthings to establish an average result.

I was skeptical of the device given some of the poor reviews. I now feel the reviewers complaining about the device’s accuracy don’t understand that radon levels can fluctuate radically. During my initial few weeks checking the device, it rained heavily. The reading almost doubled. The levels also fluctuated from room to room. It makes sense given that radon is a gas and floats around the house. I would bet that levels within a room can differ with in a few feet.

The professional test average was 11.4. An accompanied graft showed wide fluctuations during the three day test. It did not rain during the test. After several weeks the Airthings average was 13.5. It rained several times during the two weeks before the mitigation system was installed. During the rainy period, the radon level reported by the Airthings shot up over 20.

The day the mitigation system was installed the highest reading on the Airthings app was 19.9. The level started to fall. It is day four and the Airthings app is reading 1.2 and has not stabilized yet. Yea!

I am so glad I bought this device. I would have had to pay someone almost $200 to come back out to check the levels after the mitigation system was installed to confirm it worked…and without the Airthings, how would I know if the system had a failure in the future?

As a side note, we had a lot of barrier plastic rolls being transported through the house during this process. The VOC meter on the Airthings skyrocketed for a short time. I assume it was the plastic.

All the other readings the device takes seem accurate, but less important for my use. I wish it also had a carbon monoxide sensor. That’s my only issue with thing. The app is very functional.

Bought this unit to test overall air quality and realized we had a radon problem. Wasn’t even looking for that, so I am grateful it was included. Here’s the problem though… while it IS somewhat in the ballpark for the radon level, we discovered it erred on the low side after testing it alongside 3 other detectors – 2 similar type monitors of a different brand and 1 traditional charcoal test that we sent to a lab. Local radon mitigation companies trust the charcoal tests, they don’t trust these monitors and told us to make sure we did the charcoal test too. Glad we did.

Here’s the thing… radon is a fluctuating number. After copious amounts of radon research along with my test results, I learned quite a bit. This monitor tells you that you must let it “calibrate” for 7 days to get a reading that is somewhat accurate and that 30 days is best. You really end up evaluating an average when understanding where your radon level is, but it doesn’t feel good to see high spikes that get averaged out with lower ones. I like seeing where the top numbers land and how often. The app and information given is really nice and well delivered.

In the first 7 days, our numbers for all metrics would wildly fluctuate. This particular monitor is not measuring with a high number of data points. I learned that quick and accurate radon testing requires a lot of data points. There are other monitors out there that do this much better because they have more data points (we tested alongside RadonEye that matched our charcoal test sent to a lab). The Airthings average level was lower by over 1 full point (the monitor was right beside the charcoal test). In radon terms, that too much difference (1 point is significant) to be considered an accurate monitor for me. But it WAS consistent after that first 7 days with its own measurements, going up and down consistently (higher at night, higher when it rains – all things you learn about radon when researching that proved true for us). But those averages were still lower than the other tests that also had consistency and, most importantly, matched each other. Airthings was the odd man out with the lower reading. And it takes this monitor a while to adjust to change (about 24 hours at least) while the other monitors give you accurate readings much more quickly (within a couple of hours) if you move it to a different room.

Radon aside, I feel like the other metrics of VOCs, CO2, etc are probably pretty good. I didn’t test those against another machine so I can’t say for sure. But they did respond to change like fresh air coming in to the room, etc. Those metrics change more in real time which is nice to see.

Overall, I love the look of the monitor, it’s easy to place with not needing to be plugged in, the app is very easy to use and delivers the information beautifully. It only lacks in accuracy for radon in my experience. If that got better, I would choose this monitor over the others hands down. They are the same price for only radon testing and they need to be plugged in.

I will be returning this one because I want radon accuracy but if I wanted the other metrics, I’d get this one without hesitation.

I bought this one for a trial and put in at home. The monitor works very well. Since the display is using electronic ink, I think the batteries can last very long.
The app is very very nice, giving me all the information and logs I want, and warnings come frequently when the parameters exceed the threshold.
It is difficult to identify if the readings are accurate, but anyway, it is just a monitor to let me know the severity of the air conditions.

While I can’t say for sure how accurate it is, since I have nothing to compare it to, it it easy to use and I feel I can trust it. It gave us elevated Radon readings in 2 different locations in our house. It hit as high as 9.9 in the basement, where readings are normally taken, so I had a radon Reduction System installed. That reading is now .4, so I feel good to go!

Primarily purchased for Radon and particulate as I live in Minnesota where Radon is a challenge and have allergies to see if there is a correlation to having breathing challenges with indoor air quality. Measurements appear to be accurate and report well on a smartphone. Very easy to connect to internet and use. It takes a week to calibrate, not sure what it is really doing during that time but it does provide preliminary information during that week period.

This airthings meter, much like the wave which I had before, does a great job picking up changes in the air quality and it helped me identify a gas leak. But this hooks up to the internet which is WAY better. It seems more sensitive than Amazon’s meter and has a way better app and graphed data. While it may not be totally accurate it is sensitive so if there is some bad air it will show it. I’ve also learned that the outdoor air at times has some bad spikes, so looking into that.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe sensors seem to be accurate enough, for showing trends over time; however a warning that unless you buy the hub as well, the graph views will only update once each hour. Although you can refresh to see the current values. This makes it hard to tell whether the value of eg. CO2 or VOCs is going up or down, if you close a door and open a window or similar to try and resolve a high reading.

The temperature and humidity read close to my ThermoPro PT50 monitor.

The VOC values can be dramatically affected by cooking, which is expected but makes it not especially useful for monitoring potentially more dangerous VOCs. In my case, the VOCs hovered around 70 units when not much was going on but doing cooking would put it between 1200 and 2000 and once when the guys upstairs were cooking it went up to 6000 (through the furnace vents)

Considering my main purpose in getting the device was to identify the source of something I was allergically reacting to and suspected was a VOC, the time delay in the graph and the broadness of the VOC definition made it not especially useful for purpose.

However the radon reading was useful in confirming that there was no danger there, and the CO2 value I didn’t think would be useful, but it showed that closing myself in a small room could have the CO2 levels double over an hour…

Would be better if it had a screen on it, used wifi, and had a more frequent update interval. (Apparently the ‘Airthings view plus’ does these things, as well as adding a PM2.5 sensor, but costs more, and there may be similarly priced devices that do more.)

Overall it is definitely better than not having anything, in terms of showing when to ventilate a room/area, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a VOC monitor except for long term monitoring.

We bought an 80 year old house. The purchase radon inspection was good but the device was placed in the garage which obviously isn’t air tight and after discovering the septic tank and we’ll pump needed replacement, the seller replaced them including digging holes in the front and back yards.
After we moved in, I bought an older Airthings wave with us. Our previous house in College Park, MS was rarely over 2 radon and maxed at 4. But this house which was under 2 for the formal inspection sometimes jumped up to 20! We consulted with a radon specialist and we will put a radon mitigation system in the basement. The specialist said digging up the soil can create new routes for radon to escape the soil and or enter the house. He also said the most common entry point is near the sewer pipes and we have 3 different radon sensors. The highest numbers are always near the place where the main pipe leaves the house and goes to the septic system here in Mt Airy.
We also learned from internet study that Pennsylvania has a much higher risk of radon and I assume that being closer to Pennsylvania although we are still in Maryland increased the radon in our home.
I want to talk about accuracy because we doubted initially the information coming in due to the shockingly high numbers. So we did a series of tests. First my husband put it outside on a windy night. When we woke up the next morning to a super high reading we assumed the device didn’t work but we were busy so we didn’t bring it in. After 24 hours the reading dropped to less than 0.3 which is normal outside in the USA.
Also talking about the device accuracy with the radon specialist, he suggested we put all of them in one place and compare to other information like our nest temperature sensors. So we did. Wave Plus is the most accurate with regard to temperature and humidity. It has a 24-hour or so delay. Knowing it has a delay is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars for accuracy. The device information should stress that the readout isn’t real time. Most of the sensors in my house are real time. So this distinction is important.
Finally wave plus is the only device that provides VOC and CO2 information. Interestingly if 2 people sleep in a room that’s closed up, CO2 jumps up pretty quickly. We have started cracking the windows every afternoon even in the cold winter due to the buildup of CO2. Also opening packages of new items often increases VOC. I’m not sure what to do about that. We have been using windows to vent but maybe it’s better to open Amazon and other online shopping outside on the front porch.
Lastly we got the vent ms cleaned and my allergies and my 5yos allergies improved immensely. I’m allergic to mold and dust. I assume she is as well but she hasn’t been tested yet. The Airthings series has a reading for mold but I haven’t noticed anything other than 0%. Most likely the allergies were related to the dust and previous owners pet hair buildup in the ductwork.
I’m super surprised and happy with this IOT sensor. It’s bringing me a wealth of information that I never knew about the air quality in our house.

We have learned a lot about home air quality

Because I work with chemicals a lot, this item has proven to be quite effective in alerting me to problems within the home.. The dashboard is very useful with its extended graphing capabilities.
I only wish that it tracked the carbon monoxide levels in the home.

After having a canister test mailed to us for radon levels we were told we needed a mitigation system. Wanting to be sure levels were high and someone wasn’t trying to take advantage of us I did some research and ended up purchasing this monitor. Needless to say levels still read high and after a conversation with a friend that owns a radon testing and home inspection company I was still hesitant to believe the readings. Can this be as effective at reading levels as the business grade 1200.00 dollar units? Short answer is no. However, when compared over a 3 1/2 day side by side test the results were impressive. The average returned from the Sun nuclear unit was 5.1 and my new Airthings returned an average of 4.8. We are now getting bids for remediation and feel this device gives us a really good reading of the air quality in our home. I highly recommend this unit.

Live in an older home with what seems like poor ventilation. I was curious how well our air quality was in our bedroom and wanted to track CO2 in particular which is the primary reason I purchased this. Noticed a huge difference in data and quality of sleep when the door was opened vs. closed.

App is easy to use. I believe the temperature and humidity to be accurate as it is corroborated by other devices in my home. Noticing trends in the CO2 and pressure I would believe these to be accurate as well. VOCs and Radon are interesting to see, no clue how accurate these are. Might take mitigation steps if these show concerning numbers.

Only gripe is that I would love the charts to have accurate timekeeping(actual hours of the day).

We had a professional test radon with a commercial Airthings radon detection unit. The values did not compare. In fact this unit was providing slightly higher values. This really doesn’t matter to me. Why? Well, the value in this unit is to notify the user that levels are elevated. It’s nice to have an instrument that reminds me that levels are elevated. All that I need to do is open a window to vent and provide fresh ai

I bought the bundle and have three sensors. We had our house tested by a professional Radon company and their reading were the same as Airthings. We were over 4.0 on radon and had a mitigation company install a system. The Airthings immediately showed a reduction of radon after our system was installed. If it were not the my purchase of the Airthings, I would not have known that our radon was high. I highly recommend.

This little thing has proven to me that my air quality needs to be improved for better sleep and well being.

It has got me to stop using my ecig inside (VOC) and also got me to ventilate more often as my CO2 levels were off the charts at night time.

When I started ventilating more at night, my sleep improved significantly.

I sleep with my apple watch and before I started ventilating, my O2 saturation was getting down to 94%… after I started ventilating and making sure C02 was expelled enough to be in the “green”, my O2 saturation never went below 97%.

Very awesome tool to have for actual results.

It has now sparked my interest in in door house plants. So I can use them to scrub C02 for O2 on days where opening the window is a nightmare (very hot and humid).

Main thing i wish they would improve is the historical data interaction. If there was a way to export all data so I could use my own tools (Power BI) to make my own visuals and charts, I would be over the moon. That is something that should be possible by the software devs.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersVery accurate and precise. 5 min after I walk in the living room I see the CO2 climbing up. When the dish washer is on, I can see the VOC also going up.

I have compared the readings from other devices and they make a lot of sense.
I have no data to compare about radon.

We use this for Radon detection. It helped us to identify a problem, and showed us that the remediation worked, but not for all areas of the house.

Big thing is, while reading the manual I saw that remote access was not an option, but did not see anywhere that a hub is available to allow you to access the sensor data remotely. Just happened to stumble across the hub. This is great for a vacation home to allow you to keep tabs on things :-).

I initially purchased this to track the radon levels in the house but find that our CO2 levels are high and radon is fine. It seems to be a good tool to help track indoor air quality. If they were not so expensive I would put one downstairs as well.

I was concerned about Radon and CO2 in my walkout basement and purchased Airthings 2930 Wave Plus on a trusted friend’s recommendation. It was so simple to set up and has far more features than any other product with similar features/purpose. The reporting is excellent and accurate. Web based and easy to access from my iPhone as well as online with detailed historical data across several measurements, Radon, CO2, Humidity, Pressure, and temp are the major ones I review with Radon and CO2 at the top. As a result of using Airthings I found I have slightly dangerous Radon levels ( higher in winter months) and will move to have it mitigate as soon as possible. The longer you use it the better your data and resulting decision making. For the money its the best and may save you health issues down the road.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had two simultaneous charcoal lab tests done by a professional Radon mitigation company. One said 4.8 PCi/L the other said 5.1 PCi/L. During the same time period, Airthings showed 5.8 PCi/L. We got the Airthings a month prior and used the results for evidence to get the landlord to conduct tests. They were quick to dismiss the findings. They were wrong and anyway you size it up, if airthings is showing over 5 PCi/L you likely have a radon problem! This is an amazing tool since it can give you an idea about your radon around the clock!

Knowing your home’s air quality is very important and this little doodad makes it simple. My spouse and I both have serious health issue and need to monitor things like VOC, RADON & CO2. This device makes it easy and you can move it from area to area.

Our home’s radon levels are still good but have increased in the 12 years since we built it. Something I haven’t considered and worth keeping an eye on. Lung cancer is no joke.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersGreat product, easy to use, but really needs to have Bluetooth more usable ie it does some initial connection work with Bluetooth but then does not upload data to your phone with it. You need wifi for that. The issue is that for most people in offices, you will not be allowed to connect any device to your office wifi and thus the app is useless.

What is sad and stupid is the machine actually has Bluetooth. It just has not been enabled to allow the transfer that type of data to your phone. Crazy.

    AirThings, please update this!

    Pros:
-Integrates with Home Assistant via a ESPhome on an ESP32 based gateway
    -Self calibrating
-Precise Radon results (accuracy may vary according to tests online)
    -Very responsive company
-Open source Python scripts online produced by the company
-Does not need an external power source

    General notes:
-Spotted that my study’s CO2 levels would rise dangerously by mid-day and when taking naps with the room closed. I feel much better now that I work with my room door open. Initially, I only cracked the door ajar but the data showed that CO2 levels were still too high.
-VOC and CO2 detector are much higher quality packages vs cheaply available sensors. Can be use
-Stores data for a considerable time if a phone/hub does not download the data from the device. I’m concerned if long-term the flash burns out due to a lack of wear leveling.

    Cons
-Initial calibration produces a wide variation of results
-Bluetooth needs a gateway (ESPhome on an ESP32 in my case) in order to get data into Home Assistant in an automated manner
-Could use a speaker for alarms vs using your phone for alarms

The installation is very simple, integrates with Smart Phone and Alexia or Google automation.

Nice phone app and web data, has 48hr, Weekly, Monthly summary modes for data. This is my 1st experience with a Radon and CO2 monitor, did not think much about CO2 since I do not have gas appliances, but it does track the stuffiness or poor ventilation that can show a rise/fall in levels. The solution is as simple as opening a couple windows for 5-10 minutes.

Radon is a cumulative measure so will know better a month or several down the road, but it’s great to find a single unit that tracks all these together Temp/Humidity/CO2/Radon/Voc/Baro in real time and over intervals with a graph. Also at a price that is less than multiples of other sensors.

Still working on Alexa skills but I see where it could turn on a air purifier, open a powered vent, or cycle the HVAC to circulate the air with the right other controls like EcoBEE or Winix smart devices.

Overall very pleased with the device so far.
