    Great air quality monito
Setup is very easy and the app and instructions show you exactly what to do. Once past your calibration period the air things seems pretty accurate and matches a couple of other devices I have in the same room.

Reason I bought it was to monitor the humidity and temperature for a guitar/music room and does the job great. The app is very well made and displays the live readouts and also the readouts over your selected period of time, very handy to know what the high and lows were through a day etc.

Product is a little pricey for what it is but if you’re into your air quality and willing to spend over the cheap alternatives that aren’t so accurate then this is a great buy. The swipe over the ring on top of the device is great for a quick insight to your rooms air quality and know it’s at good levels. Battery has lasted for ages only dropping 15% after 6 months.

Overall would recommend to anyone looking for a premium products that works well with app connectivity.

    Works as advertised
So, I got concerned with Radon and wanted something that would continually test the air in my basement. After looking some, I found this and it looked pretty reasonable for the price.

As far as I know, it is accurate in all the measurements (I have nothing else to compare it to, so I am trusting it).

The only issue I really have is the rating system. It will notify you (or, if you look at the dashboard) that something is high, which is good, but, it gives you a color rating that really doesn’t have definition behind it. For instance, the temp in my basement shows 76F and dark orange ish, but, when it hits 64F, it goes green. The total air quality does something similar where it will be a light orange, but it really doesn’t give you any definition as to why. So, just kind of an annoyance more than anything.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersImpressive and easy to use
Great product! Been using it for about 2 weeks now and have completed the calibration one week cycle. It has been detecting a drop in Radon levels in my basement filling a radon sealing application I applied to the basement slab just as I expected which is comforting to know the mitigation is working. Really interesting to see the high levels of VOC and CO2 when I have windows closed and A/C on, compared to very low CO2 and VOC’s with windows fully open. This sensor is instantly reacting to the air quality changes and very helpful to have that information so I know when to open a window or if there is something that needs to be addressed in the home to improve air quality that you’d never know about without this affordable air quality sensor. Highly recommend.

The App is very well laid out, however I would like to see an option to add benchmark notes at certain times/days to remark something about changes in the home that help explain air quality differences. I.e. all windows open, VS. Windows closed with A/C, without A/C, etc

It goes on sale occasionally (Prime Days) so look out for a good price about 30% less than $300

Very happy with these. Allow real time info and historical. Allows you to only need to take action when there is an issue and ahead of time.

Helped in reducing headaches caused by air quality due to CO2. With help from this device readings I added more ventilation and I’m happy.

    Thank you!

I wanted to optimize air quality in basement because my daughter wanted to sleep there in her new room. I first made a radon test with longterm accustar kit and my results were near the acceptable limit. I bough this to make test by myself to understand were radon can enter the home and i found that scealing my sunpump basin cover had helped to reduce the level significally. The radon can enter the house by the rain drain and the aqueduct drain because they meet in this basin. Outdoor weather also affect the level. It is a very good laboratory to understand air quality. I also understood how co2 get high when we leave the room door closed ( dont have new air recycling in each room). Thank you for this product!

Easy to set up, seems to be very accurate, and helping us better manage our home. We bought initially as a radon detector, but it's taught us so much about managing CO2 from the water heater and other sources of air trouble.

    Seems to work. Bit pricey
Seems to work, took about a week to calibrate. Can’t tell longevity.
    AA batteries. Motion activated.
Would be nice for it to light up red and stay lit when high levels detected instead of you having to manually trigger it yourself.

    Extremely effective for radon.
Home was tested by a professional for radon and the levels were high enough to require abatement. Bought the Airthings prior to the system installation and radon levels were about what the professional test demonstrated. Just like the professional test graft, the reading from the Airthings fluctuated. It took about a week for the Airthings to establish an average result.

I was skeptical of the device given some of the poor reviews. I now feel the reviewers complaining about the device’s accuracy don’t understand that radon levels can fluctuate radically. During my initial few weeks checking the device, it rained heavily. The reading almost doubled. The levels also fluctuated from room to room. It makes sense given that radon is a gas and floats around the house. I would bet that levels within a room can differ with in a few feet.

The professional test average was 11.4. An accompanied graft showed wide fluctuations during the three day test. It did not rain during the test. After several weeks the Airthings average was 13.5. It rained several times during the two weeks before the mitigation system was installed. During the rainy period, the radon level reported by the Airthings shot up over 20.

The day the mitigation system was installed the highest reading on the Airthings app was 19.9. The level started to fall. It is day four and the Airthings app is reading 1.2 and has not stabilized yet. Yea!

I am so glad I bought this device. I would have had to pay someone almost $200 to come back out to check the levels after the mitigation system was installed to confirm it worked…and without the Airthings, how would I know if the system had a failure in the future?

As a side note, we had a lot of barrier plastic rolls being transported through the house during this process. The VOC meter on the Airthings skyrocketed for a short time. I assume it was the plastic.

All the other readings the device takes seem accurate, but less important for my use. I wish it also had a carbon monoxide sensor. That’s my only issue with thing. The app is very functional.

Not perfectly accurate for radon but has some great qualities
Bought this unit to test overall air quality and realized we had a radon problem. Wasn’t even looking for that, so I am grateful it was included. Here’s the problem though… while it IS somewhat in the ballpark for the radon level, we discovered it erred on the low side after testing it alongside 3 other detectors – 2 similar type monitors of a different brand and 1 traditional charcoal test that we sent to a lab. Local radon mitigation companies trust the charcoal tests, they don’t trust these monitors and told us to make sure we did the charcoal test too. Glad we did.

Here’s the thing… radon is a fluctuating number. After copious amounts of radon research along with my test results, I learned quite a bit. This monitor tells you that you must let it “calibrate” for 7 days to get a reading that is somewhat accurate and that 30 days is best. You really end up evaluating an average when understanding where your radon level is, but it doesn’t feel good to see high spikes that get averaged out with lower ones. I like seeing where the top numbers land and how often. The app and information given is really nice and well delivered.

In the first 7 days, our numbers for all metrics would wildly fluctuate. This particular monitor is not measuring with a high number of data points. I learned that quick and accurate radon testing requires a lot of data points. There are other monitors out there that do this much better because they have more data points (we tested alongside RadonEye that matched our charcoal test sent to a lab). The Airthings average level was lower by over 1 full point (the monitor was right beside the charcoal test). In radon terms, that too much difference (1 point is significant) to be considered an accurate monitor for me. But it WAS consistent after that first 7 days with its own measurements, going up and down consistently (higher at night, higher when it rains – all things you learn about radon when researching that proved true for us). But those averages were still lower than the other tests that also had consistency and, most importantly, matched each other. Airthings was the odd man out with the lower reading. And it takes this monitor a while to adjust to change (about 24 hours at least) while the other monitors give you accurate readings much more quickly (within a couple of hours) if you move it to a different room.

Radon aside, I feel like the other metrics of VOCs, CO2, etc are probably pretty good. I didn’t test those against another machine so I can’t say for sure. But they did respond to change like fresh air coming in to the room, etc. Those metrics change more in real time which is nice to see.

Overall, I love the look of the monitor, it’s easy to place with not needing to be plugged in, the app is very easy to use and delivers the information beautifully. It only lacks in accuracy for radon in my experience. If that got better, I would choose this monitor over the others hands down. They are the same price for only radon testing and they need to be plugged in.

I will be returning this one because I want radon accuracy but if I wanted the other metrics, I’d get this one without hesitation.

Nice app, and warnings of the indoor environment, although I have no idea if it is accurate or not.
I bought this one for a trial and put in at home. The monitor works very well. Since the display is using electronic ink, I think the batteries can last very long.
The app is very very nice, giving me all the information and logs I want, and warnings come frequently when the parameters exceed the threshold.
It is difficult to identify if the readings are accurate, but anyway, it is just a monitor to let me know the severity of the air conditions.

While I can't say for sure how accurate it is, since I have nothing to compare it to, it it easy to use and I feel I can trust it. It gave us elevated Radon readings in 2 different locations in our house. It hit as high as 9.9 in the basement, where readings are normally taken, so I had a radon Reduction System installed. That reading is now .4, so I feel good to go!

Primarily purchased for Radon and particulate as I live in Minnesota where Radon is a challenge and have allergies to see if there is a correlation to having breathing challenges with indoor air quality. Measurements appear to be accurate and report well on a smartphone. Very easy to connect to internet and use. It takes a week to calibrate, not sure what it is really doing during that time but it does provide preliminary information during that week period.

This airthings meter, much like the wave which I had before, does a great job picking up changes in the air quality and it helped me identify a gas leak. But this hooks up to the internet which is WAY better. It seems more sensitive than Amazon's meter and has a way better app and graphed data. While it may not be totally accurate it is sensitive so if there is some bad air it will show it. I've also learned that the outdoor air at times has some bad spikes, so looking into that.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWorks well but data retrieval and interface could be bette
The sensors seem to be accurate enough, for showing trends over time; however a warning that unless you buy the hub as well, the graph views will only update once each hour. Although you can refresh to see the current values. This makes it hard to tell whether the value of eg. CO2 or VOCs is going up or down, if you close a door and open a window or similar to try and resolve a high reading.

The temperature and humidity read close to my ThermoPro PT50 monitor.

The VOC values can be dramatically affected by cooking, which is expected but makes it not especially useful for monitoring potentially more dangerous VOCs. In my case, the VOCs hovered around 70 units when not much was going on but doing cooking would put it between 1200 and 2000 and once when the guys upstairs were cooking it went up to 6000 (through the furnace vents)

Considering my main purpose in getting the device was to identify the source of something I was allergically reacting to and suspected was a VOC, the time delay in the graph and the broadness of the VOC definition made it not especially useful for purpose.

However the radon reading was useful in confirming that there was no danger there, and the CO2 value I didn’t think would be useful, but it showed that closing myself in a small room could have the CO2 levels double over an hour…

Would be better if it had a screen on it, used wifi, and had a more frequent update interval. (Apparently the ‘Airthings view plus’ does these things, as well as adding a PM2.5 sensor, but costs more, and there may be similarly priced devices that do more.)

Overall it is definitely better than not having anything, in terms of showing when to ventilate a room/area, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a VOC monitor except for long term monitoring.

This is a device that will help you identify your air quality in different ways. You and your children's health are very important and it's good to know what's lurking in the air of your home! This device will find out levels of Radon, Particle matters, Co2, VoC and more! The app will then also give you detailed information on these and how to mitigate these problems. Now I know why my children's breathing was off thanks to this device!

We have learned a lot about home air quality
We bought an 80 year old house. The purchase radon inspection was good but the device was placed in the garage which obviously isn’t air tight and after discovering the septic tank and we’ll pump needed replacement, the seller replaced them including digging holes in the front and back yards.
After we moved in, I bought an older Airthings wave with us. Our previous house in College Park, MS was rarely over 2 radon and maxed at 4. But this house which was under 2 for the formal inspection sometimes jumped up to 20! We consulted with a radon specialist and we will put a radon mitigation system in the basement. The specialist said digging up the soil can create new routes for radon to escape the soil and or enter the house. He also said the most common entry point is near the sewer pipes and we have 3 different radon sensors. The highest numbers are always near the place where the main pipe leaves the house and goes to the septic system here in Mt Airy.
We also learned from internet study that Pennsylvania has a much higher risk of radon and I assume that being closer to Pennsylvania although we are still in Maryland increased the radon in our home.
I want to talk about accuracy because we doubted initially the information coming in due to the shockingly high numbers. So we did a series of tests. First my husband put it outside on a windy night. When we woke up the next morning to a super high reading we assumed the device didn’t work but we were busy so we didn’t bring it in. After 24 hours the reading dropped to less than 0.3 which is normal outside in the USA.
Also talking about the device accuracy with the radon specialist, he suggested we put all of them in one place and compare to other information like our nest temperature sensors. So we did. Wave Plus is the most accurate with regard to temperature and humidity. It has a 24-hour or so delay. Knowing it has a delay is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars for accuracy. The device information should stress that the readout isn’t real time. Most of the sensors in my house are real time. So this distinction is important.
Finally wave plus is the only device that provides VOC and CO2 information. Interestingly if 2 people sleep in a room that’s closed up, CO2 jumps up pretty quickly. We have started cracking the windows every afternoon even in the cold winter due to the buildup of CO2. Also opening packages of new items often increases VOC. I’m not sure what to do about that. We have been using windows to vent but maybe it’s better to open Amazon and other online shopping outside on the front porch.
Lastly we got the vent ms cleaned and my allergies and my 5yos allergies improved immensely. I’m allergic to mold and dust. I assume she is as well but she hasn’t been tested yet. The Airthings series has a reading for mold but I haven’t noticed anything other than 0%. Most likely the allergies were related to the dust and previous owners pet hair buildup in the ductwork.
I’m super surprised and happy with this IOT sensor. It’s bringing me a wealth of information that I never knew about the air quality in our house.

After having a canister test mailed to us for radon levels we were told we needed a mitigation system. Wanting to be sure levels were high and someone wasn’t trying to take advantage of us I did some research and ended up purchasing this monitor. Needless to say levels still read high and after a conversation with a friend that owns a radon testing and home inspection company I was still hesitant to believe the readings. Can this be as effective at reading levels as the business grade 1200.00 dollar units? Short answer is no. However, when compared over a 3 1/2 day side by side test the results were impressive. The average returned from the Sun nuclear unit was 5.1 and my new Airthings returned an average of 4.8. We are now getting bids for remediation and feel this device gives us a really good reading of the air quality in our home. I highly recommend this unit.

    Fantastic air quality measurement device
Live in an older home with what seems like poor ventilation. I was curious how well our air quality was in our bedroom and wanted to track CO2 in particular which is the primary reason I purchased this. Noticed a huge difference in data and quality of sleep when the door was opened vs. closed.

App is easy to use. I believe the temperature and humidity to be accurate as it is corroborated by other devices in my home. Noticing trends in the CO2 and pressure I would believe these to be accurate as well. VOCs and Radon are interesting to see, no clue how accurate these are. Might take mitigation steps if these show concerning numbers.

Only gripe is that I would love the charts to have accurate timekeeping(actual hours of the day).

We had a professional test radon with a commercial Airthings radon detection unit. The values did not compare. In fact this unit was providing slightly higher values. This really doesn’t matter to me. Why? Well, the value in this unit is to notify the user that levels are elevated. It’s nice to have an instrument that reminds me that levels are elevated. I bought the bundle and have three sensors. We had our house tested by a professional Radon company and their reading were the same as Airthings. We were over 4.0 on radon and had a mitigation company install a system. The Airthings immediately showed a reduction of radon after our system was installed. If it were not the my purchase of the Airthings, I would not have known that our radon was high. I highly recommend.

Great for spot checking air quality. Needs better historical data features though
This little thing has proven to me that my air quality needs to be improved for better sleep and well being.

It has got me to stop using my ecig inside (VOC) and also got me to ventilate more often as my CO2 levels were off the charts at night time.

When I started ventilating more at night, my sleep improved significantly.

I sleep with my apple watch and before I started ventilating, my O2 saturation was getting down to 94%… after I started ventilating and making sure C02 was expelled enough to be in the “green”, my O2 saturation never went below 97%.

Very awesome tool to have for actual results.

It has now sparked my interest in in door house plants. So I can use them to scrub C02 for O2 on days where opening the window is a nightmare (very hot and humid).

Main thing i wish they would improve is the historical data interaction. If there was a way to export all data so I could use my own tools (Power BI) to make my own visuals and charts, I would be over the moon. That is something that should be possible by the software devs.

Very accurate and precise. 5 min after I walk in the living room I see the CO2 climbing up. When the dish washer is on, I can see the VOC also going up.

I have compared the readings from other devices and they make a lot of sense.
I have no data to compare about radon.

Remote Access is available (with hub)!
We use this for Radon detection. It helped us to identify a problem, and showed us that the remediation worked, but not for all areas of the house.

Big thing is, while reading the manual I saw that remote access was not an option, but did not see anywhere that a hub is available to allow you to access the sensor data remotely. Just happened to stumble across the hub. This is great for a vacation home to allow you to keep tabs on things :-).

I was concerned about Radon and CO2 in my walkout basement and purchased Airthings 2930 Wave Plus on a trusted friend's recommendation. It was so simple to set up and has far more features than any other product with similar features/purpose. The reporting is excellent and accurate. Web based and easy to access from my iPhone as well as online with detailed historical data across several measurements, Radon, CO2, Humidity, Pressure, and temp are the major ones I review with Radon and CO2 at the top. As a result of using Airthings I found I have slightly dangerous Radon levels ( higher in winter months) and will move to have it mitigate as soon as possible. The longer you use it the better your data and resulting decision making. For the money its the best and may save you health issues down the road.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had two simultaneous charcoal lab tests done by a professional Radon mitigation company. One said 4.8 PCi/L the other said 5.1 PCi/L. During the same time period, Airthings showed 5.8 PCi/L. We got the Airthings a month prior and used the results for evidence to get the landlord to conduct tests. They were quick to dismiss the findings. They were wrong and anyway you size it up, if airthings is showing over 5 PCi/L you likely have a radon problem! This is an amazing tool since it can give you an idea about your radon around the clock!

    A must for every home!
Knowing your home’s air quality is very important and this little doodad makes it simple. My spouse and I both have serious health issue and need to monitor things like VOC, RADON & CO2. This device makes it easy and you can move it from area to area.

Our home’s radon levels are still good but have increased in the 12 years since we built it. Something I haven’t considered and worth keeping an eye on. Lung cancer is no joke.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersGreat product, easy to use, but really needs to have Bluetooth more usable
Great product, easy to use, but really needs to have Bluetooth more usable ie it does some initial connection work with Bluetooth but then does not upload data to your phone with it. You need wifi for that. The issue is that for most people in offices, you will not be allowed to connect any device to your office wifi and thus the app is useless.

What is sad and stupid is the machine actually has Bluetooth. It just has not been enabled to allow the transfer that type of data to your phone. Crazy.

    AirThings, please update this!

Alerted me to high CO2 levels in my study while working with the door closed
    Pros:
-Integrates with Home Assistant via a ESPhome on an ESP32 based gateway
    -Self calibrating
-Precise Radon results (accuracy may vary according to tests online)
    -Very responsive company
-Open source Python scripts online produced by the company
-Does not need an external power source

    General notes:
-Spotted that my study’s CO2 levels would rise dangerously by mid-day and when taking naps with the room closed. I feel much better now that I work with my room door open. Initially, I only cracked the door ajar but the data showed that CO2 levels were still too high.
-VOC and CO2 detector are much higher quality packages vs cheaply available sensors. Can be use
-Stores data for a considerable time if a phone/hub does not download the data from the device. I’m concerned if long-term the flash burns out due to a lack of wear leveling.

    Cons
-Initial calibration produces a wide variation of results
-Bluetooth needs a gateway (ESPhome on an ESP32 in my case) in order to get data into Home Assistant in an automated manner
-Could use a speaker for alarms vs using your phone for alarms

Multiple Sensing Modes for Home Care
The installation is very simple, integrates with Smart Phone and Alexia or Google automation.

Nice phone app and web data, has 48hr, Weekly, Monthly summary modes for data. This is my 1st experience with a Radon and CO2 monitor, did not think much about CO2 since I do not have gas appliances, but it does track the stuffiness or poor ventilation that can show a rise/fall in levels. The solution is as simple as opening a couple windows for 5-10 minutes.

Radon is a cumulative measure so will know better a month or several down the road, but it’s great to find a single unit that tracks all these together Temp/Humidity/CO2/Radon/Voc/Baro in real time and over intervals with a graph. Also at a price that is less than multiples of other sensors.

Still working on Alexa skills but I see where it could turn on a air purifier, open a powered vent, or cycle the HVAC to circulate the air with the right other controls like EcoBEE or Winix smart devices.

Overall very pleased with the device so far.

We bought a new place and saw a Radon pump in the basement. Got concerned that the place has radon and it will be an issue. Bought the Airthings monitor. Set it in the corner of our basement. To our surprise, our current house has radon in the basement. And not pump to take it outside… Not so good, since I used to exercise in the basement.
App easy to use and navigate. Monitors multiple air parameters.
Monitor give you instant overall reading just by waving your hand over it.
    Very happy with it.

Good with some room for improveme
Overall I like the product which has provided a whole new level of awareness of the air quality in my home.

My favourite feature is the IFTTT integration. I’ve programmed Airthings to turn on my bathroom exhaust fan when the indoor CO2 reaches 900 ppm and to turn it off when it reaches 800 ppm. This works very well with my Lutron Casseta light switch. I’ve also tested this setup with a Philips hue smart plug and an inline fan and humidifier. Awesome smart home set up which allows you to automate your home to maintain ideal air quality.

However, there is room for improvement. I have 2 HEPA filters in my house to clean the air which has carbon filters in them. I find the carbon filters affect the TVOCS readings on the Airthings. Carbon filters are supposed to remove VOCs not added them. Not sure why the sensors react this way. I find a noticeable difference when I turn off the air filters than when I turn them back on.

Also, the price is ridiculous, especially when you start buying multiple units and the wifi hub. I would prefer to have a desk monitor to read the indoor air levels at a glance than always having to check my phone or computer manually.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo, I bought this primarily to understand the Radon levels in my house. It does a good job of this, from what I can tell. The install and setup is super easy, by the way. What I discovered is that Co2 and VoCs are the main negative in my house. It is also a bit unnerving to go down, wave my hand in front and see a "red" indicator. Am I going to start dying a slow and painful death, now?!? Do I open my windows all day long? How do I stop this trend? Unfortunately, with hot temps in the summer and windows closed most of the time, it's not uncommon to see the "red" indicator. So, what do you do then? What's the best solution besides leaving the windows open? The challenge is understand: 1) does it matter; and 2) what do I do to fix it?

I bought this as an add-on to my started kit. (Meaning I already have a Wave and a Mini and the network hub.) It connected up, and updated to the current firmware, with ease. It was easy to add to the hub. It shows up on the web page as expected. It provides all the readings it promises, which should be what all the other (cheaper) units provide but don't. The readings on this unit seem approximate to the readings from other units.

So I used this in my living room to start and after a week I got a CO2 alert in the middle of the night. I noticed that it would go into the fair "yellow' every night but last night it sent an alert to my phone with C02 in the "red" zone at 1034ppm. We close the house up at night with the air conditioner on so that must be why. As soon as I open up the windows in the morning the levels go back down. VOC'S and Radon level are so far in the "green" zone so I'm relieved about that but I still need to check the rooms upstairs and also the basement. It gives me some piece of mind that it sends me alerts for warnings and a few times a day I wave my hand over the device as I pass by so see which color zone it's in.

I like it as it’s very easy to use, to configure and move around in the house.

Only down side is system update couldn’t finish, I’ve to email and chat online with the tech support, end up I have to replace batteries and it worked like a charm afterwards. (it happened only one time for me)

I’ve give it 5 stars for products and support.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis device brings the hidden things around you into visibility. One thing that upset me is the inaccuracy in Radon reading. It is accurate on CO2, VOC, Temp, Humidity, etc., It will show a high reading of Radon. I know this because I use their other device (the not a smart one) on the side to compare. This one always scares us with a high reading.

I like that I have the ability to monitor at anytime. It provides a monthly report to see how the quality of the air fluctuates. In my case, I found Radon that had been increasing in my basement area. Because of this, I have contacted Radon Mitigation to fix it.

I live in the middle of Ohio where radon levels are high. I was worried that our newly built house was going to have high levels so I got an AirThings Wave to check that. Safe level is less than 4.0. Three days after activating the Wave read 52! I immediately set up a mitigation system to be installed. 3 days after that was installed our reading on the Wave is less than 0.3. Constant monitoring of humidity and CO2 are now what I’m looking at. Super easy to set up. The app is awesome. If you’re worried about radon, get one of these and get the info you need to make smart decisions.

Gerät zur Raumluftmessung für mich OK
Gert misst CO2, Radeon, Tvoc, Temperatur, Feuchtigkeit, Druck mBar.
Internet ber WLAN) Zugriff. Mal schauen wie dieses sich schlgt.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product is great. I read about the 3-day radon tests being really unreliable and that only long-term testing would give you an accurate reading so I bit the bullet and bought this fairly expensive monitoring system. I'm really impressed by how sensitive the reader seems to be. I was a bit freaked out that my VO2 was so high and emailed the company which was very very quick to respond and offer all kinds of suggestions. They also offered follow-ups and additional emails to see how I was getting on with the product. So in short the product is quite pricey but you get what you pay for it in terms of customer service.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersExcellent, Very useful... but...
After years of wondering about Radon in our house and reading up about it, I decided to get a monitor/sensor instead of buying single use test kits that had to be sent out and analyzed. Based of reviews I chose this one and we are very pleased. I also bought the hub. The app installs easily and works simply and well. The unit got us a ‘lot’ smarter about Radon and how it fluctuates quite a bit with weather and heating season ventilation. I ordered a second sensor/monitor as well to pinpoint where to focus on in our basement and confirm that the sump pit is the main entry point/culprit in our house. I like the fact that the unit(s) are transportable and could be used in another house as well. We use the app and the dashboard and both are great. In addition to Radon, it also monitors CO2, VOCs, … after 6-12 months I will be putting in a mitigation system and the sensor will provide my report card…
I would buy again (and have) and would highly recommend,
    Thanks
    2023-01-09 update… I knocked off one star…
Our DYI mitigation system is installed and working better than expected; so now the Airthings are for monitoring. I asked the support chat 2 questions in the last 3 weeks:
I wanted an outdoor baseline RADON level to juxtapose my readings to and asked advice about how to use outdoors… I got a canned response indicating that the products are not designed in any way for outdoors… no suggestions were mentioned either… so not too good; I was assuming that they could be installed in unheated crawl spaces… I would have installed in a shed 8 feet away so covered from any precipitation,,,,
    2nd question:
The colour coding of the thresholds is based on American recommended numbers (150 bq); we live in Canada and the level is 200…. the EU/WHO has 100… I asked if I could change the thresholds for my implementation…. nope American thresholds only. We would have chosen the EU/WHO numbers if we could have. After a few weeks I have realised that there is not much flexibility in monitoring only for notifications. I am not a fan of getting global Yellow for VOC or CO2 numbers when our focus is RADON. As a retired data analyst / coder I know that a user set layer of thresholds is not a big deal and has zero risk to the core code base… anyway 4 stars now.

    Good product with fixable problems
It’s really good to know what is in the air you are breathing. You can keep your environment safer with this knowledge.

The device is easy to setup. The phone app is very simple and gives you the ability to see your air quality at a glance.

This little sensor alerted us to high levels of radon gas at our cabin. We were able to get remediation done and the sensor shows that the remediation works and our cabin had very little radon when we run the exhaust fan in the crawl space. (Which we bought on Amazon!)

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersYes!! Get this!!! I am a nurse and we recently moved into a new house and for the past 6 months I’ve been dealing with the air from the vents smelling off-dirty/dusty smell. I got this mostly for radon detection but also the air quality. Almost instantly it was reading high co2 levels and voc levels in rooms we sleep in. I read that’s a ventilation issue. Sure enough had HVaC guy come out and my air intake filters (not furnace filter-we change that regularly) was caked in filth! Dust dirt and even bugs! Because this is air coming from outside the house to freshly cycle thru! And the hvac fan was on reduced flow —not normal. So basically no fresh air was cycling in my house! Within two hours smell was gone! Air felt light again!!!! So happy I purchased this!!! Oh and my radon levels were normal. 🙌🏻

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have 4 other sensors to compare this to.. This has been the most accurate and having a graphed history gives the readings a story, You can see exact dates and times for every reading by simply moving mouse pointer on top of the graph within the airthings desktop dashboard, it's so useful!. The View Plus comes out in June which can also read everything the Wave Plus does as well as PM2.5..View Plus has a display screen and can also act as a wifi hub to connect the wave plus to. If you only need 1 stand alone sensor, make sure to look into the View Plus before you grab this.. PM.2.5, a wifi connection which is more reliable then bluetooth, as well as the option to keep the View Plus plugged instead of using the batteries, the extra cost of $100 almost a no brainer.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Users Love this Device to keep an eye of my Indoor Air quality Levels. Before I purchased this device I felt I couldn't breathe right in my room at night, found out with this device my room and house air quality was poor above the 1000 ppm Levels, I decided to open up my windows and my air quality has improved to about 700 ppm normal levels I slept better during the night. The device is easy to set-up just following instructions and just to let you know the first software update took a while so be patient and make sure you have a good internet speed. My only con is the price is kind of high it should have cost around$150.00 and I would have bought 4 units. Please add WiFi to future design.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Userseye-opener, crappy indoor air, wish we knew ten years ago
We got radon, and too much CO2. Family of six, stuck working and going to school in this one house, over this past covid year, 24/7. The CO2 levels hadn’t even occurred to us and if the CO2 sensor it wasn’t included we still wouldn’t know. We got the Airthing to test for radon because we wanted a baseline reading before we excavate and re-level our cement foundation, because disturbing the foundation can release radon —Damn— It’s already way above recommended limits. Now we know what we’re breathing we’ve been opening the doors and airing out the house everyday, first thing in the morning, even when it’s -15c.

We’ll be installing a radon vent system when we do the foundation, and a whole-house fresh air heat exchanger, and we’ll continue to monitor over the next year (and beyond too I guess).

    Works Great!
Easy to setup and use (on iPhone) and very helpful in improving my air quality.

I learnt that the indoor air quality (IAQ) for my home office was low enough to potentially affect my ability to think well and be productive due to high CO2 levels. Made changes to room ventilation, got CO2 down to levels closer to atmospheric amounts, and now I breathe much better and feel more focused. I did the same with my bedroom and my sleep quality has improved.

The device notifies you when your IAQ is inadequate throughout the day so that you can take action. Would highly recommend it and have done so with my friends and family.

    Works as advertised
The Radon fan in the attic had stopped working. We got the Airthings device and it detected levels > 4 in the basement. We got the fan replaced and the levels dropped dramatically and we got it tested. The levels that the test revealed were quite close to the ones being calibrated by the device

    Very well thought out system
I had a stand alone co2 and voc meter before this purchase.

It worked, but I found I did not action any changes (e.g. air our the house) as it was hard to read it or see if it was getting worse or better over time.

This system is amazing. it’s so easy to setup and I especially like the 3 color led indicator on the wall unit as well as that there is a hub.

The hub means there is long battery life in the sensors and there is no setting of WiFi passwords.

After getting one sensor I got two more. will probably get more in time.

It’s one of the more expensive solutions on the market but we’ll engineered.

My only suggestion would be to make a cheaper version without the Radon sensor but with Co2 and VOC and temp and humidity. Not all rooms need raydon measurements (my house doesn’t need them at all)

This device makes monitoring the air quality in your home an easy task. There is an app that allows you to see the current readings as well as historical readings. If I could improve it in one way, I would make it easier to integrate into a smart home without the need for yet another device specific hub. In some cases you may be able to integrate the device with your smart home hub using usb and they even have a GitHub repository with some sample code that works with RaspberryPi.
