What’s not to like? It does what a GoPro does for a fraction of the price – great picture and video quality and when I lose it (which is likely) it will cost less to replace

I’m using the V50X camera on my mountain bike as a safety camera in video loop mode. It works well and produces sharper pictures than my old camera, and the touch screen is a nice bonus. However when cars pass at speed it is still sometimes difficult to make out registration numbers even with EIS turned on. Overall I’m happy with the purchase as it’s a good improvement and should give nice pictures when I go on a trip out in the country.
Mainly purchased for underwater use, the video footage is good quality the photo images are good but not as clear as the video footage. Would recommend this product. Will now be testing it while cycling.
Bought this to take away on Ski trip, rather than a more expensive brand as it was recommended to me, absolutely great quality and easy to use, was delivered on time and comes with a spare battery. I bought an accessory pack so I could fit to helmet etc, defiantly worth the money
We wanted to use it for snorkeling and diving. It worked perfectly with very good quality and resolution or the images and video. It was exactly what we were expecting for a good price!

Used this on a snowboard holiday. The camera was excellent. Battery lasted even though the temperature was minus 18. This is a great product and easy to use.
This is a great product that looks professional so will appeal to both a buisness and recreational user. Quality build and product.
One minor nigle, you have to switch off mobile data to use phone app. Appart from that, the app makes it easy to download and share from your phone.
I’m happy with the stabilization very impressed with the quality and movement.
Great action camera if you don’t want to spend a fortune for a GoPro. The colours are brighter and warmer by default which can be issue for some but for me, taking videos on not very bright days helps without the need to use colour correction.
This is the best product with this price range. If you are new at action cameras, I suggest to start with this camera. I would like to see underwater performance soon.
Seems v good – bought for a skydive present, but not used for that yet. Seems very good image quality in the small trial I have done. Huge number of attachments for different requirements. Seems an excellent choice for people not wanting to go for higher costs of go pro etc

Bought this after trying to decide between 3 different Akaso models. There seemed to be a lot of cross over of features and i wanted stabilisation and 1080p 120 frames. It works great even though on my mount it’s upside down. You can flip the image but then you lose the stabilisation feature.
The battery life is great. 1 battery lasts me easily 1.5 hrs and i have the screen set to auto off after 30 sec. We even use it in the car with some of the other mount options as a dash cam.

Excellent camera. Image stablization is very good. Sound quality seems ok did not have any issues as others have mentioned, was using internal mic. Early days but product seems to be good. I ended up adding a 128gb sd card and it worked no issues, used samsung sdxc evo select. Also scandisk extreme or ultra plus will work.
Very happy with my purchase of this camera. Video quality was great, battery life was good and camera easy to use.
I mainly use it for MTB. Haven’t really had any issues with image stabilization or pic quality. And considering the price and the amount of accessories that came with it I cannot complain.
Quick delivery, product easy to use and works as indicated. It’s not recommended only for pictures though, I feel you’d be better off using your phone.

The Akaso V50X is good for taking ongoing movies of dinghy sailing (strapped to a fixed platform). The battery life is fine – lasting for a complete 1.5 hour+ session. The footage is great for reviewing what you did well & what wasn’t as good. Great value.
This is my second Akaso action camera. The first, a V50 Pro, still works beautifully but I needed a second one and bought another Akaso straight away. Great price, great picture and sound and very durable. I take mine out cycling in all weathers and they’re tough little things. There are also tons of accessories so I can fit one almost anywhere. The size is great also. Really nice and compact with a terriffic touch screen on the reverse. You could spend a lot more on an action camera but why would you when these little beauties do the job so well? I’m mounting my new one on a magic arm in the garden to get some close shots of the birds as they come and go. Slow-mo videos of birds in flight. Amazing. I literally use these cameras daily. My original V50 Pro still runs on it’s batteries like new. On a long cycle ride I pack a couple of spares and I’m all set. Highly recommended.
This purchase was made with view to being able to take pictures and videos while snorkling and cycling while on holiday.
I am not the most technical person, but found the camera easy to use.
Numerous accessories ensured that I was able to use the camera while engaging in a number of activities during the day and night.
I am happy with this purchase and will undoubtedly be using the camera both while at home or abroad!

I use it mounted to the front of my ebike with the waterproof case.
Day time quality is fantastic.
Night time quality suffers alot but can still see enough for safety/accident recording etc

This product was purchased for a tropical archipelago adventure in the Indian Ocean which will involve much snorkelling and kayaking. It was important to keep costs to a minimum as I have no need for regular adventure camera beyond this trip and this new item was comparable in price to a used GoPro. However, it isn’t really possible to be certain of a used device how it was treated or indeed whether it would begin to fail at 7 or 8 metres deep in the sea. Repeating the trip because of a camera failure was not an option.

For the price this is a great camera. Image quality is good and it has some really useful functions. Only minor issue is that the clamp for attaching to a tube ( like bike handle bars) only allows orientation of the camera in one way. Therefore when on handlebars it points sideways. In my opinion not enough to reduce the 5star rating but worth knowing

Great product, lots of accessories with the camera. Very impressed with the videos and photos I’ve taken so far. The bike handlebar mount is the only thing I’d change, I had to buy a different mount to suit modern road bars and seatpost the one provided was too small. Very happy with my purchase.
This camera was fab on holiday & allowed us to capture lots of videos whilst snorkeling at the resort, including my hubby swimming with a turtle – any wobble in the footage is his swimming & lack of tech skills…. he nearly didn’t capture it at all!!!
Simple navigation between the video & picture settings. The App isn’t anything amazing and could do with improvement but as far as downloading our content, which is all we needed if for, it was simple & worked well.
I had assumed the accessory clip would be compatible with the GoPro accessories but it’s a different connector, which is a shame, but luckily we had one we could switch over easily enough – I had read so many reviews ahead of buying this camera that I think my brain was scrambled, so my bad!
We got lots of accessories with the camera, so that was a bonus.
The only negative we experienced was that the screen goes to sleep after 30secs or so of filming and so you just have to tap the record button again to wake up the screen – there may even be a setting but I’ve not actually looked yet and so don’t let this put you off. It’s probably a battery saving mode. On that note, we took one battery out each day & simply charged it overnight. It was nice having the option of a 2nd battery & if we had gone on a proper snorkeling trip then we would have taken both with us but for our snorkeling on the beach each day, the battery lasted.
The picture & video quality looks great on my iPhone but we’ve not viewed it on a larger screen yet – we might not even do that as we tend to have shared albums on our phones.
Overall, this is a great alternative to the more expensive options, especially for holiday usage & we’re really pleased with our purchase!

Great little camera for taking on holiday for some snorkelling shots.
The only thing I didn’t like was I couldn’t change it from video to still photo when in the waterproof casing. Otherwise easy to use and transfer images to iPhone.
The camera is brilliant for the money and I’m very happy with it.
I use it for when we are out cycling which is a mixture of road riding and some off road riding.
Image stabilisation is on par with my Daughter’s GoPro8 and the quality of the 4k is also as good.
The mounts are excellent I have one mount on the handlebar and I also have a chest mount that was bought separate but used the Akaso mounts that came in the box.
I do cycle in the dark also and the camera does work well at night.
There are street lights where I am cycling and have uploaded night footage onto the PC.
Being able to choose between different resolutions is very handy for battery life, I normally use 2k at 60fps and that’s fine for what I need.
Battery life is pretty good not had a problem there.
Being able to use mounts from other action cameras is also very handy.
I did watch some reviews before purchasing this camera and for the money it’s a great and handy little camera.
I am yet to test out the driving mode but I’m getting a dashcam mount for the Akaso.
Having driving mode was one of the reasons for buying this model.

I have not used this camcorder underwater and I don’t think that I will but other than that it dose, for me every thing that’s on the box,well made and just the right price…C.G.
Image stabilisation is very good for the price, poor in low light, comes with 2 batteries that charge via micro usb, batteries last at least 30 mins, can charge and use, have to get a waterproof cast separate but it worked. Great customer service when my product was faulty had a new one arrive within a couple of days.
The camera came in good time and was well packed. Unpacking and setting up the camera is very easy. The attachment kit supplied seems to cover most eventualities. I bought the camera to use mostly for my motorcycling but now having seen and tried the camera I think I will be using it a lot more for other uses as well. I’m very pleased that I chose the AKASO V50 X rather than paying far more for no apparent benefit.
I was looking to get a wearable camera that I could record some of the walks I have with my dog, I tried a simple body cam that had no image stabilisation and it was awful. I looked at what was out there and saw the usueal GoPro offerings for serious amounts of money, then found this camera. Is it amazing? No! Is it amazing for the money? Yes! The image stabilisation is OK in reasonable light, but struggles and starts to shake in low light or very contrasty light.
In short, it doesn’t compare well with the more expensive cameras, but given this is about a third the price of a GoPro Hero, and I’m not doing intense action shooting I can live with the slightly lower performance image stabilisation.
I was also impressed with the accessories that came with the camera, with the GoPro options, you have to buy most of it separately.
Last comment is about battery life, I’d like more, but wouldn’t we all? It lasts about 1.5 hours of continuous use with wifi on connected to a phone. Ideally for the length of walks I take, it needs to last twice that, thankfully it comes with two batteries, which is handy.
The camera’s working well so far as did the waterproof case, the quality of the underwater videos impressed me and I’m looking forward to using this while skiing too!
Very competitive product, there are so many of similar products, but AKASO is the real GOPRO alternative. If you think GOPRO is so over priced, AKASO will give you balanced price and quality.
Remember to tighten the screw on the remote control, just in case water getting in.
Overall, AKASO is a very good alternative to the over priced GOPRO.
Great little camera for the price with numerous attachments included. The body etc feels sturdy and well made.
Things that could improve it would be different noises when starting and stopping video recording when you’ve got it stuck on your head or anywhere you can’t observe the camera itself.
This is my first action cam so I can’t compare it that well. But I’m happy with it.
I purchased this for a holiday not expecting too much but I was surprised. It’s a fantastic little camera and down everything I needed it to. I read the reviews before hand as well and agree with them, for a budget camera (compared to the big brand named ones) it is perfect. The app worked fine as well for editing. Can’t complai
