It seems to be as advertised. I did think the motor may have been more powerful, but maybe that is all that is allowed

I wanted a lightweight leaf blower to use instead of a very heavy Stihl petrol machine that’s noisy and impractical. This is a joy to use in comparison and fortunately I’ve got several 18v Bosch batteries (old but good) with a couple of chargers from a drill and hedge trimmer.
The run time off these isn’t long so you need a few battery changes to do any worthwhile leaf blowing! I found it had plenty of power but don’t expect it to compete with a petrol machine.
Be aware that these older batteries won’t charge on the newer chargers though!

We bought this blower for our Mum for her birthday and she’s delighted with it. Overall, it’s really very light and as she suffers from joint problems, she’s able to use it for the time she wants. I was a bit skeptical when we got it out the box, but once the battery (which had been charged prior to it being sent) was fitted, we gave it a little test run in the garden and it worked very well on blowing the leaves into the corner of the garden where they could be easily collected. Not sure how long the battery will last, but it lasted long enough for the front and back garden.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this unit as Bosch is a good brand and I already had a battery for it. However although it is ok for pushing dust and small light leaves away it is not good for larger leaves like fiddle leaf fig leaves. Over all is not as strong as I thought it would be considering their hedger with the same battery is very powerful and works really well. So dont expect miracles from this unit, it is good for blowing dust out of garage or shed but not clearing a driveway of fiddle-leaf fig leaves.

Excellent for removing leaves from corners and awkward spaces where a brush can’t easily reach. But takes practice to corral them into a neat pile! Not so good for wet leaves that have been trampled down – you’ll probably need to loosen them with a wire rake first. The spec is silly saying it has an air speed of 210 km/h – the amount of air matters just as much. A useful product if you already have the battery with your cordless drill for example, but rather harder to justify if you have to get a battery and charger specially for the blower. I think it would struggle to cope with anything heavier than leaves – such as hedge trimmings.

     Japan 🇯🇵

Used this product to clean the garage and the stairs on a 3-story apartment in Japan. It is not terrifically powerful but the air is very well focussed so that it works very well for pushing dust, small gravel, light leaves and paper in a controlled way. It is very light and easy to use and effective for this purpose. I like it, it is perfect for what I needed it for.
For large decks, pine needles and heavy fall leaves you would want a heavier blower with a bigger aperture but this is ideal for cleanup around a small area or of concrete steps and landings.
This blower uses the smaller 1.5 Amp Bosch battery that I use in my cordless drill. I also have the larger 6 Amp Bosch battery for a Bosch cordless angle grinder, which is much more powerful but does not fit in this blower. If you buy this without the battery, make sure the Bosch battery and charger you have is for the 1.5 Amp battery.

Update after a years use: Perfect in every way, but, there seems to be an inherent problem with the on-off trigger. Often fails to switch on, after a few seconds and a ‘tap’ on the handle, the switch reactivates. Somewhat frustrating and surely Bosch should be aware? Other than that could not do without this blower. Battery life adequate but recommend you buy two batteries.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersM mother has an ongoing war with leaves. Personally I think it is a bit made going out on a daily basis to rake them up when there will just be more tomorrow until the trees finsih shedding them. Alas, my logic doesn’t help. In the face of her advancing years and insistence on going out daily to rake the leaves despite it hruting her back I bought her this little leaf blower. It is light weight and can be easily stored in an outdoor garden box. My mother is now able to gather all the leaves quickly into a pile with a brisk walk around the yard. The 17mins run time is plenty for her middle sized yard and because she has a bosch hedge trimmer too already she can charge and swap the cross compatible batteries for more run time if necessary.

Ich kann die schlechten Rezensionen nicht nachvollziehen. Einen Stern? Was soll das?
Man informiert sich doch vorher was man braucht und was man dafr ausgeben mchte.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhilst nowhere near as powerful as my corded blower, the Bosch ALB18 Cordless Leaf Blower is certainly fit for my needs.

It is very lightweight, my wife is more than happy to use it and the battery lasts for a good 15 minutes or so. I do have a number of Bosch Cordless 18V tools and 3 batteries, so I can swap around and get nearly an hours worth of use.

Ideal for the lighter jobs such as tidying up after mowing, or the smaller lighter bits of hedge trimming.

It will blow dry leaves around on hard surfaces OK but wet leaves on the lawn need a little more ooomph.

Reasonably well made and for my light usage, I would expect it to last for years.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersBefore I purchased this product I reviewed the comments ( as I normally do) and I would agree with some of the comments that if you’re looking for a leaf blower where you have wet leaves and say a big garden then you would probably need a much stronger product and this may not be the one for you. Having previously used an electric one which broke I wanted a cordless version and came across this blower where I already have a Bosch kit that use the same 1.8 batteries, so purchased the one with batteries not included. I have to say this blower is absolutely perfect for me it comfortable blows the dry leaves and debris where I want it and use it for my patio and front drive also the garden furniture. I would recommend this if your looking for a lightweight to handle and efficient product — Good Value.

This is very compact. The power is good enough – not overly strong, but definitely strong enough for leaves and debris. I was actually looking for a cordless blower vac, but they are relatively expensive and I already had a corded one. The issue with the blower vac is the size and heaviness. They are great in mulching, but dragging them around the garden is a pain – literally. With this compact cordless Bosch blower, you can blow the leaves and debris into one area very quickly and easily, then use a blower vac to mulch it up and dispose. Very happy with the purchase!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersUnfortunately it only briefly spun the motor after a full charge. Amazon as good as they always are got it changed for me. The new one is better but still does it. I looked on the reviews here and found I was not the only one. Are all these really broken or is there something missing? The mistake I might have made was snatching the battery off the charger as soon as I saw the continuous light indicating it was full. I think there is a possibility that the battery should be left a little longer to possibly cool down before use. But there is nothing in the Bosch manual about this so I don’t know for sure yet.

As for it’s operation, its not as powerful as a petrol blower, but is still good. It much lighter than a petrol blower and there is no petrol to mess about with either. Its still powerful enough I think. I see plenty of criticism about these not working well in the wet. I think it really is common sense to go out on a dry day and you will get a much better job.

I am pleased with mine apart from the niggling starting fault which could be an undocumented operator error. If it is, then Bosch really need to include in in their rather basic manual.

I bought mine after most leaves had fallen and had been gathered up so when mine arrived there wasn’t really much use for it. However I found the odd task for it and it was during these tasks that I occasionally found that mine wouldn’t start when operating the blower switch.
It’s now February, and I used it yesterday for blowing away some light Winter debris from around the house etc and again there was at least one occasion when the blower would not start. I rocked the switch up and down several times, removed and replaced the battery and managed to get it working again and thereafter no further trouble.
I don’t know what to do with my blower though realise it comes with at least a 2 years warranty.
In all other respects it’s adequate although some technique will need to be mastered to eventually gather the leaves in my Garden come this Autumn.

Powerful enough for dry leaves but only about 95% effectiveness in damp conditions and not very effective for fallen moss.
Good for small to medium sized gardens

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersJust bought this already had the strimmer I was nearly put off by some of the other reviews glad I wasn’t, anyway one of the comments regarding starting up, at first I thought it was faulty but it starts fine but if you try to start it again before it stops then I think there is a safety feature built in probably to stop you from burning the motor out. If you keep the start button depressed it stays on if you then stop it you have to wait until the motor stops only takes seconds it then starts every time no problem

Good service from MZon after initially losing item. A little hesitant on starting but works well once running. Might consider returning due to this problem.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersVery compact garden blower. I just bought the bare tool as I have a Bosch Drill that uses the same battery and charger as the blower so saved some money there. Works a treat for my needs. The nozzle can be taken off for storage and the battery slides on and off easy enough (my own battery as this is a bare tool). I have not timed how long it lasts on a single charge but I have always managed to complete my garden on one charge so is great for my needs but it states 10 minutes run time in the amazon description. It has a Syneon Chip which appears to be the latest technology. This is a blower and there is no vacuum setting in case anyone thinks there is. I’m very happy with my Bosch blower and all other Bosch tools I have purchased recently. Great gadget for the garden.

It’s brilliant for its size & weight. Charges quickly too. Not as powerful as a petrol blower but easy to use in & around tricky areas of the garden or on hard surfaces.

Supplied without battery and charger. Excellent as it uses the same Li-On pack as the hedge trimmer which I already own. Lightweight and easy for the wife to use as long as you don’t expect it to move piles of wet leaves.
Bosch battery powered stuff is excellent. I have had a Li-On powered lawnmower, used regularly on a 200sq.M lawn for nearly eight years and the mower will wear out before the batteries do.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDoes what it says on the tin, ie it blows air. Bought the version without a battery because I already had 2. X 1.5ah batteries that came with a Bosch drill. On a full charge you get about 15mins of a moderately fast air stream that shifts dry leaves off hard surfaces with ease. Not so good on grass but I normally ‘hoover’ these up with the lawn mower. Only gripe is the price – 55 seems a lot of money for what is in effect just an electric motor and fan in a plastic shell (no doubt the technical experts would argue that there are all sorts of fancy circuits inside but compared to other electronic appliances this seems a tad expensive)

I am absolutely delighted with the performance of this appliance. It is light and powerful enough for the job.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt is very light. Perfect for small jobs but probably couldn’t clear an entire yard of heavy leaves in the fall. Good for blowing out small leaves and stuff from corners, under the hedge, between rocks, and doing sidewalks.

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersI have experience with both the 18 volt and 24 volt Li-Ion batteries as I already own a cordless Bosch lawnmower, strimmer, drill and hedgecutter. They are all really good tools and this Bosch leaf blower is a great addition to my gardening equipment.

I was surprised at how small it was (think hand-held vacuum cleaner) and that the 18 volt battery is used to power the blower – this is the same size battery for use in the Bosch strimmer and drill. Would it be powerful enough? Yes. Good grief, yes, safety glasses are definitely required as this blower creates a mini tornado! I could hardly believe how powerful it was and it put a smile on my face as I blasted a huge a pile of leaves from my lawn into a neat pile. It’s a bit like herding sheep but, with a little practice, the slightly angled trunk blows the leaves straight forward. It’s so much fun and easy to use so I went looking for other jobs.

The next session involved cleaning leaves from the pavement and among a fiddly picket fence. This usually takes a good twenty minutes of sweeping with a brush and picking leaves out by hand from the fence. The Bosch ALB did the job in minutes, and more thoroughly. Even the awkward wet leaves on the pavement got whisked up into a pile ready to be bagged.

Sorry to wax so lyrical but I’ve really bonded with this little machine and keep looking for any excuse to use it. Blowing cobwebs and dust from between the panels in a radiator, check. Cleaning the car by opening all the doors and blowing everything out, check. Drying the car after it’s been washed, check. The list could grow!

UPDATE DEC 2015 – Still one of my favourite tools and the battery is going strong.
