This midi controller is ideal for composing on the go. I have got a Digital piano with 88 keys where I play all the long and more involved stuff, and a small Komplete Kontrol A25 Midi controller for the short parts, which I use when I'm composing at home. This Alesis Qmini Portable 32 keys is by no means a replacement for my current setup, but an alternative for when I'm away from home and I need to get something on the DAW before I forget. I particularly like the MODE wheel (which is really a button) and the volume knob. I'm happy with the purchase.

Works excellently, great beginner MIDI keyboard
A lot of people that are buying this are clearly not aware that this is not a regular keyboard.
It’s not meant for playing piano, it is meant for use with sound programs and rather complex software. I did not buy it for myself, but rather for my husband, who is very impressed with the quality and functionality of this MIDI keyboard. He has had a blast playing around with the different settings and sounds. It was easy for him to install and set up the software without any of the issues that others have mentioned.

Conectado a un pc y un software de grabacin, gran tacto teclas de piano, en un controlador y por tanto necesita un software o mdulo de sonido. Pesa poco pero es muy aparatoso por sun 88 teclas.

Ideal para tener movilidad
Para utilizar con un PC porttil es ideal. Tampoco le pidas demasiado, porque para componer a dos manos una sonata no es lo ideal, pero para montar acordes de una mano o interpretar pequeas frases que se han de secuenciar, te servir perfectamente. La modulacin se hace un poco rara hasta que te acostumbras.

Buen teclado en relación al precio
Buen teclado, econmico, de buena calidad, no tiene acabados de primera pero es de esperarse por el precio que tiene. Responde muy bien la sensibilidad de las teclas.
Arrivata NUOVISSIMA (vedi foto). Questa tastiera midi l’ho presa dal warehouse, per chi non sapesse cos’, la divisione di amazon degli oggetti “usati” o rimandati indietro e/o rigenerati. Alcuni di essi potrebbero avere qualche segno di usura o rovinatura. Dato queste premesse, i prodotti costano qualcosina in meno.
Io sono stato fortunato ed arrivato un prodotto nuovo di zecca, anche la scatola ed imballaggio erano perfetti e sigillati. La tastiera non presentava alcun segno di imperfezione e funziona perfettamente. Come dal nome, la tastiera/controller midi ha a disposizione 4 ottave ovvero 49 tasti. Il prodotto di buona costruzione, leggera e con il controllo della velocity sui tasti, pitch e modulazione. Io la utilizzo su Mac con logic pro x e garage band. Sono molto soddisfatto dell’ acquisto, riesco a produrre bene la mia musica. Il rapporto qualit prezzo pi che ottimo anche se si acquista nuova. La consiglio.
NOTA BENE: Per quanto possa sembrare anche per principianti, farla funzionare non cosi scontato, ci vuole una discreta conoscenza di una DAW, ovvero un software di registrazioni che supporti strumenti virtuali midi. Ovviamente all’intero della confezione, tramite un codice, possibile scaricare una DAW per farla funzionare. Senza il programma (MPC, logic, garage band, cubase, riper ecc) la tastiera muta, quindi nn basta solo collegarla.

It’s true plug-and-play, no set up involved. The keys will produce volume /velocity depending on how much pressure you apply. So, sometimes I need to go back in and raise the velocity if I’ve played too softly. Lightweight, small, doesn’t take up a ton of space, easy to change octaves, works perfectly for my needs.

Die Software dazu ist eher nicht mein Ding, aber mit BitWig und Cakewalk hat es auf Anhieb funktioniert. Schade dass ich auf diesn Artikel nicht frher aufmerksam geworden bin. Fr mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

Zielsetzung gut überdenke
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem kostenlosen DAW von AKAI ist dieses kleine Midi-Keyboard eine hervorragende Quelle fr Inspiration und eine gute Mglichkeit fr bungen. Es ist klein und spielt sich sehr gut. Wenn man allerdings ein Keyboard mit normalen Klaviertasten hat und das QMini als bungskeyboard nutzen will, lernt man mit 2 unterschiedlichen Tastengren. Fr mich war das ein Problem. Deshalb mein Tipp: berlegt euch, was mit dem Keyboard gemacht werden soll. Als “Solo-Keyboard” ist das Produkt sehr zu empfehlen.
Brilliant lightweight keyboard
Keyboard is lightweight and very easy to use with both the iPhone and iPad. Only downside for me is the lack of a headphone output and when I paired my AirPods there seemed to be a latency issue which was off putting. Overall though I think this is great value for money.
Ich liebe diesen Keyboard
Nur musste ich es leider zurckschicken, weil der Anschluss mit einem IPad Pro nur dann funktionierte, wenn das IPad den Keyboard als Input erkannte. Manchmal klappte es, manchmal nicht. Es ist mir bis heute ein Rtsel, in welcher Reihenfolge alles angeschlossen werden muss. Ich habe alles probiert.
Jetzt habe ich mir einen von Akai geholt, wo der Anschluss mit IPad innerhalb von Sekunden geht, aber ich vermisse echt diesen Keyboard von Alesis (der am PC und lteren Gerten, die keinen lightning kabel brauchen, brigens einwandfrei luft). Die Tasten vom Alesis fhlen sich viel angenehmer an, die Finger klemmen nicht zwischen den Tasten und das Gert sieht hochwertiger aus.

Lo compr y lo devolv porque las teclas son duras y muy pequeas. Sensibilidad muy poca en el tacto de las teclas. Quizs para memorizar posiciones y ejercicios como principiante puede valer, pero dista mucho de lo que es un teclado o piano de baja calidad, ya no voy a comprarlo con nada de calidad. Es cmodo porque cabe en la mochila y no pesa nada, casi ni te enteras de que lo llevas encima. No necesita pilas ni cargador porque todo se hace por USB. Es muy prctico, pero no busques calidad. Si eres principiante y adems slo quieres usarlo de controlador de eventos sonoros en tu PC quizs est bien al precio que est.

Tastiera mini portatile. E’ una tastiera da viaggio, piccola. Come spiego nel video secondo me utile per creare piccole melodie, campionamenti, pattern di batterie, linee di basso, sicuramente non adeguata per imparare a suonare il piano. Grazie. Spero che la mia esperienza possa esserti utile.

Midi works well on usb and on the 5 pin Midi. Reasonable feel on the keys and the velocity works well. It also has an expression input that many keyboards do not have.

Le look est OK mais ca fait vraiment pacotille/fragile. J’ai vu des claviers jouet pour enfant plus robustes que a. Surtout que 50 – de nos jours ou on a un petit smartphone pour peine plus – a parat dcal. On aurait donc apprci que le fabricant mette 2 de plastique en plus et augmente le prix d’autant pour arriver quelque chose de moins joujou. Cest d’autant plus dommage qu’ part cette sensation de fragilit a marche tout a fait bien ! Maintenant, pour dbuter, ou justement s’amuser, a fait le job. Favorisez l’achat d’un produit Amazon warehouse. Vous conomiserez 10 facile, ferez du bien la plante, et ne serez pas dus pour autant. Le miens paye 35 est juste nickel propre.

Great Product for the Price
Likes: Easy to use, inexpensive, seems solidly built, nice little free software bundle.
Dislikes: Not entirely flat. Seems the base is ever so slightly curved. There are
Six pads on the bottom so removing the centre two stopped it from rocking whilst in use.
Used it solidly since purchase and although it was bought as a bit of fun, I’m now learning how to use it for inclusion in mixes and backing tracks.
A very simple product. Good 88 key controller with decent action. At this price point you are most likely going to get lightweight action at best, not fully weighted, but the lightweight action also works well for percussion parts, organ, etc. Portable, feels solid not cheap.

La tastiera con dinamica piccola e compatta che mi mancava 😉 Ottima per Logic Pro e MainStage, ma c’ anche del software incluso molto valido, anche per Windows.
Si collega via Usb (cavo incluso) e si suona… veramente leggera e funzionale!!! Soddisfattissimo!!!
Now that I’ve got it working, the keyboard is everything I hoped it would be. It’s great for small spaces, and is so portable and easy to setup anywhere. I have a 2013 MacBook Air and I work with Reason 10.
It feels good to play – the keys are small but not so small that I constantly press wrong notes. I was worried about that because I’ve never had mini keys before. But it’s fine.
I did have to knock off a star because I actually had to purchase an external USB hub to get my computer to recognize it! My MacBook simply would not recognize the device when it was plugged directly into the onboard USB ports. So that was an extra $20 I had to spend but fortunately with the USB hub it worked without any further issues.
Be warned: the tech support from Alesis for me was non-existent. I reached out to them for help but they didn’t respond. I hope this is not typical of this company. I’ve never purchased an Alesis product before.

I have an iPhone SE (1st gen) and Windows 10 PC. It works with those devices for sure. When it comes to Android devices, it’s gonna be a hit or miss. I can only speak for the devices that I do actually have. If you took a chance on an Android that works, please share your experience.
Moto Z Play, Android 8.0 – does NOT work. It doesn’t even power up the keyboard. Tried with an OTG with power input and still doesn’t work.
Walmart ONN 10″ tablet, Android 9 Go – device recognized, but practically unusable. The tablet/apps recognize the device. BUT! The latency is pretty bad. Also, some keys get “stuck”. I’m guessing the processor/hardware is just too slow.
ATT Radiant Core U304AA, Android 9 – device recognized, but practically unusable. Got this phone from ATT as a free upgrade because of their network updates. Again, this seems more like incapable hardware, not incapable OS. Latency is unnoticeable, but the sound eventually starts crackling like the CPU is overloading.
Moto E5 Play, Android 8 – surprisingly WORKS perfectly. This was just an ATT prepaid phone off the shelf. It is able to power up the device, the OS and apps recognize it, latency is unnoticeable. It seems that the hardware is very capable to provide very stable performance. Only caveat is to set the display to stay on for as long as possible. Even with battery optimization turned off, my MIDI app seems to go to sleep with the screen is off and when it’s in background.
So, it is a bit unpredictable. Why the Moto Z Play, which is a much better phone than the Moto E5 Play, doesn’t work…I don’t know. It would be difficult to lay out minimum requirements in that context. So, I can understand why Alesis just doesn’t want to even mention it.

The keys are really good at this price point. No setup required, plug and play. Comes with a lot of free stuff (plugins, DAW, learning lessons and whatnot).
Big fingers be warned! Excellent midi keyboard, though!
Great value keyboard, but the black keys are wider than most keyboards, leaving a thinner gap on the G and A keys. For most people this won’t be an issue, but if you have particularly big or stocky hands you will not be able to play chords like Eb which typically require playing deeper between the black keys, because you’ll end up pressing down those black keys by friction of squeezing into the gap. I don’t have this issue with any of my other keyboards.
If you have more average hands, though, this is a very excellent keyboard for the price. I had tried the previous model of this which had clicky keys–no good for detailed dynamics–but this one has fixed this issue with very smooth, quiet and responsive keys. I’m sad to have to be returning it but I had to leave my recommendation all the same because for most people this will be a really great purchase.

Mi hijo esta comenzando a tocar piano y a producir msica, todo funciona correctamente y funciona para lo bsico en FL Studio. Eso si, la mayora de comandos del teclado estn enfocados en MPC Beats, sin embargo esto no afecta realmente mucho.

Useful For On The Go
It’s a pretty good cheap alternative to some of the bigger brand options. Good for on the go writing and brainstorming. Beyond that, one might it limited. But very good usb keyboard for sure.

Lightweight, portable and perfectly simple.
It’s smaller than you think it is, which if you’re struggling for space or portability, this thing is excellent. It’s also not very complicated so it’s brilliant for beginners. The keys respond well to touch and it feels sturdy enough
I have tried MANY keyboards over the last month (10 total), with a view to have a well-performing mini-usb controller keyboard for a 17hr flight, it will be controlling FL Studio Mobile on my Galaxy Note 8, will need to go in a carry-on, be light and quiet.
Keyboard 9 & 10 came today- number 9 is reviewed elsewhere, but at number 9 having ALL been utter embarrassing failures, I was considering not even wasting my time on it. Holy Moly was I wrong…
Pros:
1. keyboard is totally playable, low hit, low fatigue, registers well (even gentle piano) and is SUPER quiet, like each key is individually felted. No squeak, no scratch, and no clang. Beautiful experience.
2. Knobs are high quality and register fine parameters
3. Buttons are easy to use and well placed.
4. SUPER light
5. all casing surfaces are matt and textured, and surprisingly rugged, this will fend off greasy-fingered late night playing.
6. Set up on Win 10 was 2.3 seconds- plug and play (with Saurus) took 9 seconds.
7. The modulation button (which I gag at even the mention of usually) is actually reminicent of the old Juno white buttons, I actually liked it- who knew?
8. Has a Kensington lock port.
Cons:
1. Pitch bend is unusable, no control, no precision, sometimes no logic behind it. For something performing this bad NOT having it would have been less of a downvote.
2. The usual and expected USB-B connector is replaced here with a mini-usb for no reason that I can see, there is PLENTY of real estate, we all know how strong and durable these are don’t we? (said no one) I never had a B end go on ANY device EVER. But I’ve had about 40 Mini-USB’s fail.
To summarise, a fantastic feeling and performing keyboard, well made, low fatigue and at a fantastic size and weight.
9.5/10 (for the dumb cable and wasted pitch bend opportunity.)

Fantastic controller for a pianist.
Fantastic controller for a pianist that needs the whole breadth of the keyboard to do his work, and also to feel more comfortable when writing music digitally. It is also very portable – while long it is also quite thin and light making it easy to fit in the back of a car. I had a much smaller controller from alesis before, and while loving the key sensitivity and the feel of their controllers, felt increasing frustration when writing music as I was unable to express myself pianistically. This is the perfect solution. 5 stars.
Great feel, keys were what I was worried about… but when I received it I was relieved to be happy that the keybed felt so good. Overall great keyboard, besides the button mapping (not considering the wheel, pitchbend or volume slider) I just couldn’t figure out how to use it, and I use custom-programmed TouchPads in my studio for things that include those functions anyways, the keyboard I used before I didn’t use these buttons, but I still wanted that keyboard button functionality for once, just because. The User Manual is very much not a helpful one when it comes to mapping, it does not describe which command refers to which button and so forth. The listing above the keybed does clearly state the wheel and fader commands but not the transport, record -and-so-forth buttons. Really had to play around with it just to understand the sliders. I know THOSE work atleast. The octave buttons work great as well. I cannot find videos anywhere by Alesis or in general about how to map these buttons however so I gave up on the record and transport buttons.
Composition feels great, it is plastic but DEFINITELY not cheap plastic. It feels great really.
The keyboard comes with a plastic adhesive that sticks to all the keys at once, just peel it off ofcourse, but I did find it left a very squeaky feel to the keys for like 6 hours of playing before they began to feel normal but whatever it feels great now. Just a packaging precaution is all that it was.
I like that there is Pro Tools First included, and additional software. That’s super cool I guess.
Look, if you want a good keybed, well functioning and nice feeling faders (wheel, pitchbend, volume) and nothing else really matters, I would recommend. Had to subtract a star for programming. It is just plug and play magic, and I’m happy. There are not a lot of informative reviews, not only is Alesis a smaller company, but this is a newer product, hence the little discussion and reviews. So I tried my best to give you the gist of it.
I considered this and the identical m-audio model and upon reading the reviews there was a lot of concern brought to the fact that the m-audio seems to be very finicky to get working power wise, like it demands more than the 5v than usb gives or something?
No such issue with this keyboard, I even have it running through a non-powered usb hub that also has my mouse and its perfect. Size is perfect, see the comparison above next to my (already small) apple magic keyboard 2. Lovely keyboard, keys feel nice, plugged and play’d with garageband immediately. Possibly the best 60 bucks i ever spent music-wise?
Not changing the review until Alessis gets their act together, just a note to anyone looking to purchase this item for their PC, you have to download drivers for the keyboard to work which are only made available on their website after signing up and creating an account. That’s fine but unfortunately their website won’t allow you to make an account it redirects to a forbidden page Support won’t reach back to me through email and calling them just ends up with you being on hold without ever speaking to anyone. Great service lol so in the meantime I got a keyboard that’s useless.

After being able to access the website and install their drivers I’ve been really impressed by the quality of this product for such a cheap price it does the job perfectly for anyone starting out with music or even if you’re experienced the benefit of having a lightweight midi keyboard to take while travelling is also a plus!

Bad Box, Good Keys...
So apart from the box of the keyboard arriving in questionable quality (thanks!) – The keyboard itself is great, feel good to play and the bonus programs are a nice touch. Definitely recommend if you are a beginner in the world of creating music and using DAW’s.
Bought the Qmini as a gamble (40 for 32 keys – the best value on Amazon at the moment by a mile).
USB connection worked straight away with no additional software/drivers. Using with Ableton Live and Addictive Keys.
All keys are touch-sensitive – impressive response in the DAW.
As pictured, it’s about the same size as a standard QWERTY keyboard. The black and white piano keys are probably 3/4 scale to a standard musical keyboard, but still very usable, even with big hands.
Only used for a weekend so far but does the job for adding additional MIDI instruments and small parts. May be a touch on the small side if you use MIDI all the time in everything you do.
Note: I’m no MIDI expert. Also have an AKAI LPD8 pad controller; but that’s quite rubbish by comparison (similar price point)
Leider funktionierte bei der ersten angelieferten Tastatur 88Q MK2 der DIN-Midi-Ausgang nicht. Der Umtausch durch Amazon erfolgt ohne Probleme und sofort. Die zweite Tastatur funktionierte einwandfrei und ohne Probleme. Danke an Amazon fr die problemlose Abwicklung.
Leider ist auf dieser Tastatur kein Splitpunkt einstellbar. Aber sonst ist die Mglichkeit an Einstellungen recht umfangreich und durch die gute Beschriftung (ber der Tastatur) auch einfach zu programmieren. Die Tastatur selbst mute ich in der Mitte durch eine Unterlage etwas absttzen da sie sonst beim bespielen nachfedert. Die Tasten selbst haben eine glatte Oberflche. Fr die fehlende Splitmglichkeit ziehe ich einen Punkt. Insgesamt aber ist diese Tastatur sehr preiswert und kann deshalb weiter empfohlen werden.
Excellent MIDI controller , just plug and play , the keys are semi weighted so they dont feel like a piano , but they feel really good, textures materials everything feels really nice
