I ordered this because I didn’t want to buy a smaller roof box for five times the price. This particular one is huge, fits a family of fives suitcases in and still had some room.
As you expect, you’ll get some wind noise with a roof bag, but the extra Velcro on the straps prevents them flapping around nicely.
It takes time to fit it and tighten it, but I’d rather do that than spend an extra 4-500 on a roof box or two.
I fitted mine to a roof basket which was fixed to my car. I purchased roof bars, basket and bag for less than the price of a roof box! But this bag can be fitted directly onto the roof.

If you are contemplating buying this roof bag……DO IT!!! I was hesitant at first about the sturdiness of it on the roof of my car, but this is an absolute game changer. I only have a fiesta but the amount of stuff you can fit into the bag is incredible and a must need for camping. This bag has been such a great purchase and I am really impressed with the material of the fabric and how easy it clips into the inner car door.

    A must have for camping

This is an excellent piece of kit. It holds loads of bags and was really secure on the car roof on really long car journeys. It’s easy to attach even without a roof rack.

Bought this product as I don’t have roof rails on my current car. Waterproof and holds loads with ease! Well worth the money and great purchase. The instructions are not clear on how to strap it onto the roof and how to ensure its secure. No idea what we did, but we got it to work. That aside, its a great buy.

This roof bag is huge, held luggage for 4 adults including boot bags for 2 weeks easily.
Very sturdy and well designed, waterproof too. We have returned from a 1400 mile round trip to Scotland facing high winds , rain and impressive speed on the motorways and it did not move an inch. Its quiet and easy to install onto roof bars. It’s a game changer – don’t hesitate. Mpg also barely changed. Managed 51.9mpg as an average on journey with 4 adults and a dog in our astra estate and bag fully loaded on top. Very impressed.

I didn’t want to invest in roof bars/roof box for my 2010 fiesta so gave this bag a try. It did 400mile round trip to Cornwall & didn’t come off although none slip mat did start flapping on the M5 so just removed, didn’t seem to make any difference tbh: bag stayed put. It withstood a prolonged overnight thunderstorm on the roof & didn’t leak at all. The instructions are rubbish but you need to peel down the rubber seal on the body of the car where door closes, this took two hands & some hard pulling on the fiesta – seal wasn’t glued so no lasting damage. Then push seal back over the strap metal end. The bag straps need adjusting to tighten. Overall very happy that it took body boards, wetsuits, beach gear freeing up space in the cabin and doesn’t need shed storage like a roof box, will just fold up & go under the bed until next trip.

Did the job, no need for roof rack

I was really worried about using this on a 4 hour drive there and back on motorways but we didn’t even know it was on there. No noise at all! As long as you tie the straps on tight and tuck them in properly. I was really impressed, really sturdy loads of room! Would definitely recommend. It didn’t rain so I can’t comment on that but it feels thick and the covers go over the zips. Easy to install.

After a poor experience with a different product. I spent a little more on this roof bag. Great quality product made from study materials. Takes a bit of time to get the straps setup right. But once it’s on the car it remained very secure. Also didn’t affect the fuel consumption as much as I thought it might. Packs down really well into its own carry case too so great if you are short on storage space.

This bag was a cheaper way to get extra storage while travelling. That’s not to say it compromised on quality. Travelled 637 miles and it didn’t budge. Very happy with it. It went on a vw polo

I used to have a rigid roof box which was a pain to store when not in use. This folds down into a small bag which is brilliant!
I couldn’t use the hooks that are meant to fit inside the door frame because I have sliding side doors however I fitted this to the car roof rails and used this on a 5 hour motorway drive and it didn’t move at all.
My advice when fitting is take your time, systematically go from each of the 4 fixing points, tighten them then go around again and adjust them tighter.
It appears that it will be weather tight with taped seams and a storm flap over the zip but as it didn’t rain on my journey I can’t really comment fully on the water resistance.
I wasn’t sure about this when I bought it but overall I’m impressed. It’s a very viable option to a fixed roof box and so much neater to store.

Made a trip to Cornwall about 600 miles round trip on a dry weekend. Seems a sturdy bag and impressed by the storage space. As it is a bag I feel it’s worth the extra time making sure the bag is filled and fitted well with a tight fit for all the hooks that need fastening. Another thing to consider is to travel more or less directly to your destination and then remove the bag completely after unloading. On your journey back you will be repeating the process of fitting and packing the roof bag on top of your car. Another thing I noticed is the rubber mat tends to slide a bit underneath the roof bag, I have a feeling it might fly away one day. Other than that the roof bag itself seems very secure and unlikely to move on your journey doing decent speed on the motorway. I would definitely recommend this roof bag to avoid the steep cost of fitting roof bars with a roof box.

We have just endured 2 days of torrential rain, high winds in Scotland while touring we mainly used the bag for our paddle boards, wet suits and dry robes on top of our campervan and after reading other reviews we honestly was expecting them all to be wet but 100% dry so we are extremely delighted with our purchase cannot recommend enough. Off to Europe next with a few extras as loads of extra room to.

USED CAR ROOF BAG TWICE NOW FOR SKEGGY BREAK – VERY GOOD – AT FIRST THOUGHT STRAPS’ BUCKLES WERE TERRIBLE TO ADJUST, BUT ON 2ND TRIP REALISED HOW EASILY THEY ACTUALLY WORK AND ALSO ONCE THEY’VE BEEN WORKED A BIT AND ARE LESS STIFF IT’S REAL EASY (can’t quite recalll just how it’s done except to tell you that you loosen one part say the buckle first before loosening the other buckle), SO DON’T GET FRUSTRATED AND TAKE YOUR TIME WITH SYSTEM AND YOU MIGHT NOT SWEAR SO MUCH AS I DID 1ST ATTEMPT – AGAIN A BIT OF A HARD TIME PULLING DOWN AND AWAY RUBBER DOOR SEAL BUT ONCE DONE THIS IS EASIER – DIDN’T RAIN EXCEPT SLIGHT DRIZZLE BUT RECKON IT’LL STAND UP TO RAIN WELL – EASY TO USE LOCK (made dumb mistake first attempt but simply unlocks using same initial code till you input your own number code nobody can know and away you go) – AND VERY LARGE WITH TONS OF ROOM – WELL WORTH IT AND MUCH CHEAPER THAN A BOX COSTING 450+ T0 510 – CAN’T ARGUE AT PRICE OF 98 (?) – PS: 2ND TRIP WAS WITH DOUBLE AMOUNT COMPARED WITH 1ST TRIP AND ALSO VERY WINDY WITH ZERO PROBLEM

STRAPS WORK WELL AFTER A 2ND USE JUST TAKES A KNACK TO WORK THEM MORE EASILY

Was a little sceptical, but after taking time to load and secure properly, my confidence in the bag is 100%. Anti slip mat supplied the perfect fit. Straps a little fiddly, but only on first use. Packs away into supplied bag, meaning I don’t have to store a bulky roof box and bars. Fitted to LR FREELANDER 2 a treat.

A really good roof bag, securely fits to the car roof without the need for roof rails or rack.
I was a little cautious of using this on our first trip (4hr motorway drive), as I wasn’t sure how sturdy it would be or if it would damage the roof, but it lived up to the description. The bag didn’t move at all when in use, held a lot of camping equipment and contents remained completely dry inside after driving through heavy rain.
Straps fit securely under the door seals, with the little hooks provided, no movement whatsoever.
I would highly recommend to anyone considering a roof bag or box without the need to buy a rack or rails.

Good quality bag, more versatile than a roof box. Definitely waterproof. I have used it in torrential rain and everything inside remained bone dry.

I made two 500mile round trips with this bag, both through heavy rain at times. It kept all my things dry, it fit an awful lot in (more than you could fit in even a big rigid roof box, and it didn’t move at all on the top of the car. I was worried about having only four hooks to attach to the insides of the door, but the whole thing was very sturdy once set up. No rain came into the car around the hooks either. Very good product and well worth the money.

First thing you should know is it’s huge!! Got so much camping gear in it I was shocked. Not amazingly waterproof I may add as it rained hard on my travel down. But then I half expected that and didn’t put anything that couldn’t get wet inside it. (Suitcases went in the boot)

Most impressive thing was thou, once on it didn’t move. I had an 8 hour round trip including motorways, with it attached and for the 1st hour I didn’t exceed 60mph. Very shortly thou I gained confidence and resumed normal driving.

This is a big bag and it needs filling really for shape. Its quite fiddly with all the straps but for a good reason as this reassured me that i wasn’t going to have a problem. I had no issues good quality holds more than you think. Didn’t slip or move. Would recommend if you have plenty of gear to take camping.

My son absolutely loves it, as long as you use it the way it should be, fantastic holds so much, having a large dog and small, leaves enough room in car for the doggy members of the family.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI purchased this product for camping in order to transport my kit on the roof of my vehicle as i had very little boot space available. this product came extremely well presented in a bag keeping everything tidy. The size of the bag was great and could fit everything that would have previously taken up the entire back end of my mid sized car. the quality of the bag was great after researching lots of ways to transport my kit including trailers roof racks etc. i decided to get this product and i am glad that i did. I would recommend this to any camper, new or seasoned (i have camped all my life so i have seen lots of methods of transport and for any camper this would be a great addition to free up sometimes much needed space).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe have used this bag twice for camping and it has been great for storage. We took it to the lakes and it rained like I’ve never seen before and only slightly let water in near the 2 closed zips! Use the included lock or it could open up if used on the motorway!
