Some remarkable boots not easily scuffed. They will, of course, but that’s beside the point – I don’t *want* them to be. Some excellent grip on the tread; the soles have a great pattern on them with fast rubber. The laces are really nice. All in all I look forward to wearing these boots for a long time.
Comfortable and lightweight but not waterproof. My feet were soaked when I wore them to hike in Dartmoor. The floor was wet in parts but certainly not wet enough to penetrate the boots or do I thought. I kept them because they are comfortable, but I only use them in dry conditions
As you’d expect with this brand quality boot, they have had plenty of testing in all weather type’s passing all with flying colours. Like hiking in a slippe
My second pair of these and straight from the box they are so comfortable. I have size 9 1/2 and they fit as they should.
Two months of use – approx 250 miles of walking: fully waterproof, no noticeable wear on the sole, lightweight, supportive, comfortable, look great! I couldn’t recommend these boots more highly! Well worth the money!
Ordered these boots primarily for dog walking during the cold wet spell of weather we are going through just now. The boots were described as true to size but on trying them on I felt that they were more of a narrow fit. I have continued to try to wear the boots in and can suffer a short walk at this stage , hoping that there is going to be more give the more I wear them.
Positives regarding the boots are that they are warm, very waterproof and extremely lightweight but still sturdy.
I bought these to replace my old comfy but worn out boots. I chose as they had good reviews, they are a good fit, I am a size 10 and they don’t pinch or appear to small or large. I tried them last night for a quick couple of miles and they feel really good, they are warm and don’t slip in the wet. Only gripe is the laces are so long!! But that’s a first world problem. Very impressed!
I love these boots . fit perfect for my wide feet / Comfy , waterproof , just magic , never had a boot feel this comfy i love them so much i bought a second pair within a month of the first now i am looking at grabbing a 3rd pair as i am scared they might stop selling them so i will grab them while i can . I have walked 100s of miles in them already no sign of wear of tear and still completely waterproof . I could not believe the first time i put them on that it was as if i had been wearing them for years . I thought it would be a fluke when i grabbed a second pair but nope still as perfect as the first pair . Do yourself a favour if you need a pair of tough, rugged, waterproof comfy boots look no further these are excellent . And they look pretty nice as well bonus .
Great boots, comfy, easy to put on and remove. Kept my feet warm in snow and ice, on the school run. not the best grip in ice to point out. Easy to clean too, recommend!
Not had these boots for long but after several wears can say they are extremely comfortable with a soft inner sole having a firm outer sole which smooths out rough tracks, have only walked in wet grass so cannot comment on how they would hold up to any water depth but certainly they dealt with the grass well, overall would recommend.
Takes a few days breaking in. But they are comfortable then. Waterproof and warm in the cold weathe
Tried several pairs before these (different makes) but these lived up to their name but good value too
Very pleased with product quality – the boots are well made, very comfortable and lightweight.
Started breaking these in, but truth is, they don’t need it. They are really comfortable.
Not tried them yet in the wet, but if they perform as their build standard inplies, I’m sure they’ll be great.
Bought these after returning a pair of another brand.
Some how, I think I’ll be staying with Berghaus!
Update – I have been walking the dog in these since I have had them. Waterproof. Warm. Comfy. I like a lot!
I bought these as a replacement for a pair I’ve had for years. If they last as long as my old pair I’ll be happy. But first impressions I’d the feel not as good quality. These are a newer model. Wore them for a 4 mile walk around the woods today and the comfortable. Time will tell if they are worth the money
A great boot with all of the things I was looking for but sadly too narrow for my stubby feet.
Great lightweight walking boot. I use them everyday and they last about 18 months before they need replacing. Very comfortable and reasonably priced
Very comfortable from the first time you put them on, long lasting and stay waterproof longer than any other boots I’ve tried.
Bought these to replace old version. The new ones feel like a cheaper copy of the originals. I almost returned them because (as other reviews have warned) they are significantly narrower than the previous design, but I’m willing to give them a go since there are not many alternatives available either.
The photo does not show how much narrower the new boots really are, but I don’t think I’ve ever owned such narrow boots. Also, the padding around the ankle feels thinner and the insoles cover less area than the old design.
If Berghaus are reading this, please make the 3.0 version wider and increase the thickness of the padding (or just go back to the original design).
I’ve only worn them a couple of times but so far very comfortable and no blisters.
Real test yet to come when the weather changes. Currently height of summer, ground is rock hard not much rain so we await the monsoon season to see how the boots deal with what comes with the change of weather.
Boots are slightly small but should wear in. Not a wide fit. Waterproof?..so far, so good.
Fantastic if I must say so myself they fit perfectly and are very comfortable, I read all the reviews before I purchased my shoes and most off these comments make no sense I’m very happy with my purchase
Got these boots for walking my dogs, I’m size UK 11 and boots fit great, nice and comfortable so I’m more than happy
I haven’t tested the waterproof aspect of the boot yet.
They are very comfortable for my wide feet.
Walking long distances on rough ground is effortless wearing these. Good grip, sole is quite broad across the base and gives a firm foundation. Cushioning inside is lovely, absorbs alot of stress when walking on uneven ground. Really pleased with them. May get another pair for the future.
Very comfortable straight out of the box. Whilst they are not a safety shoe, I am wearing these for work in the wood shop. I find toe capped shoes do not suit my foot shape and become uncomfortable quickly.
I usually take a 9-9.5 in shoes and boots in a 10 as they always come up smaller. These were a 10 and fitted perfectly. Which worked out well as the pricing system is bizarre, size 9’s were much more expensive than the 10’s. I could not have bought them at that price. This seems to be a strange practice on shoe pricing, which is a shame.
Lovely boots though.
This was my first try before you buy deal and has worked well, the boots arrived on time and I was able to try them out in the comfort of my home. I had ordered a 9.5 size boot instead of my usual size 9 because some of the previous reviewers had said they were on the small side. That was very good advice because mine fits me perfectly and I have had 3 long walks in them without any problems.
I’ve had Merylls in the past and despite claiming to be waterproof they don’t last long, even with proper care and continual re-waterproofing. Theses ones however are, much as I hate the expression, next level boots. Solid, comfy but most importantly, really, really waterproof.
Brilliant walking boots, used up the mountaine and on the beach. Best boots I’ve purchased
Still wearing these boots today! Really good boots, I do alot of walking/hiking. My feet don’t scream after a walk anymore!
So far so good, comfortable, size fits as expected. Haven’t experienced any issues yet but still brand new really. Only using them for dog walking in the countryside at the moment.
Try numerous brands over the years, but these take the biscuit they are snug and comfortable from day one and last the distance my last pair lasted well over 2 years of walking every day, they do fell a little narrow on the foot so half a size bigger works for wide feet.
Brilliant and well worth the money. Have walked over 100 miles since purchased and no sign of wear and very comfortable. Have walked in deep puddles and my feet have stayed warm and dry.
Really great boots, keep the wet and the cold out.
Just bought these boots and early impressions are good- light weight, comfortable and appear to waterproof!
Only wore these a few times but really comfy, I have only give 4 stars for water resistance because I haven’t tried them in these conditions yet.
Usually go for Merrell footwear but these are perfect so far!
Brilliant hiking boots, used for Scafell Pike in November -1degrees and my feet were warm and very comfortable the whole day! Not great for driving in though, suggest a change of shoes for that!
These are lightweight and great for walks, hiking and work. Comfortable and a great purchase.
Good boot, but will need an insole for more comfort over long walks
So far so good, been walking a few times in these now, very comfortable and water resista
Comfy. Decent Price. Looks modern. Happy feet, glad i got them.
Great walking boot from Berghaus. Have only worn a handful of times and haven’t yet had the chance to put them through their paces properly, but the few occasions I have worn them I have found them very comfortable and lightweight. They fit true to size and don’t rub or anything. I cannot comment yet on the water resistance of the boots as have only been through small puddles and rain but seem fine up to now. I would recommend the boots to walkers of all abilities.

I don’t normally wear boots they seem comfortable but are very stiff still only wore them 3 times
Love these boots, shame they don’t do a shoe.. really comfortable, not 100% waterproof but good enough, tough, hard wearing.
I was expecting to need some blister pads for my heels until they wore in a bit but didn’t need them in the end as they were comfortable straight out of the box with no rubbing at all… The brand probably isn’t as well known for their footwear but the boots are really good quality and in line with what you would expect from a well respected outdoor clothing brand.
The fit is very good and my feet are dry
Great value for money for its water resistance and light weight properties
Boots extremely comfortable. Very good fit and as described. Highly satisfied with the quality. A pleasure to wear.
Great boots and definitely waterproof with wax before wear as advised , super lightweight. I went half a size up and they fit perfectly
Good value bit tight for size but wearing them i
After two short walks in these boots I walked the Wychavon Way over two days. 17 miles the first day and 26 miles the second. The boots were really comfortable and waterproof, no blisters and no rubbing.
Lightweight and very comfortable. Not so happy with the laces. They are too long and you cannot wrap them around the ankles as the back of the boots lower than the front. This means a lot of lace flapping about.
They look and feel great. I’ve always bought Bergy because I can trust the name to do what it says it will. The days of brown leather walking boots that split in creases are as out of date as the 1970s spam and margarine blandwiches we used to take with us
hese where bought for doing the hikes on the Duke of Edinburgh award, feet stayed dry no blisters, and light enough not to fatigue the legs
Exactly as described, great product would highly recommend to anyone for a long expedition!
Great boots. Lightweight, sturdy and comfortable at a great price.
When my boots arrived from Amazon, I thought I had received the wrong parcel but to my surprize the box contained my new boots. These boots are exceptionally light, I had sore feet from ill-fitting shoes, using these boots I no longer have sore feet. A worthwhile investment if you walk regularly.
Excellent boots, but a few snags. They’re very comfy and sufficiently cushioned, with excellent ankle support. Downside is the laces are either too long or have stretched and the top two hooks are too shallow meaning that lacing can be a frustrating exercise as they keep popping out!
Satisfied with my purchase and now up to 200 miles in them. Easy to clean to and apart from absolute torrential downpour, have been totally waterproof.
This is my third pair and they can be worn straight out of the box , never had a problem with them needing to be worn in .
These boots are excellent, comfortable well made no problem walking 10 miles in a few hours
Moving from leather upper boots to these Berghaus alternatives has been a relief. They fit well, the laces have good keeps, the Vibram sole does what they claim and they are comfortable over several hours wearing.
Great traditional style walking bootwatertight!!! I realy thought about getting some of the more modern mixed material type but when you get out in the bogs you look at these and think yup they were the right choice!!
Although I have walking shoes by Berghaus I have returned to Berghaus boots after trying 2 other well known names. The first of these were misshapen and got returned, the second started to leak and stitching started to come undone just out of warranty.
Others have said that the sizes are a little tight but my size 8s fit well. After only 2 short walks they felt like slippers, a situation I have become to expect from Berghaus shoes and boots having had 8 pairs over the years.
My one gripe is the tongue which is a little narrow just above the gussets. This means that there is a gap between the cuff of the boot and the tongue a little above the gussets when the laces are pulled up. This seems to be improving as the up and down lacing I use seems to be stretching the material to close the gap. My first walk through wet grass will show whether this is an issue.
I bought the boots for a walking holiday to come and for weekly longer treks. They are an excellent design and a good fit.
Excellent boots. My last pair of Berghaus boots lasted for 8 years, they are now my gardening boots! Be careful when choosing the correct size. I am usually a 9.5 but I take an 11 in these boots.
First impressions very good. Very comfortable stylish and lightweight. Done few miles to get used to feel great. Expect to be waterproof.
So excellent up to now, what you expect from Berghaus.
Walked few weeks now and they are a joy to wear so comfortable and sturdy. I use them for day to day wear fully recommend.
The product is yet a year old and the have again ripped along the seam with the sole !! What is it with these Berghaus boots as all of the pairs I have owned have ripped/ failed in exactly the same place, why. However this pair is barely a year old !! Boots of this type should last a minimum of two years if not longer.
These boots are great. Really lightweight but strong enough for quite tough walking. I had a pair before which lasted more than 10 years of constant use so I bought another pair. They are really comfortable to wear and not that expensive compared to other high quality walking boots.
I have just past 1 year with these boots. Worn every weekday outside and in they have done well. But now the material on the right boot right side next to my toe has split open a bit of a shame 1 more year would have been mork like it. I have worn many types of boots in the past for more than double the cost and usually just require a re-sole after 3 years. So as they say you pay for what you get. During the time with them you could not fault them. Just need to endure a bit more.

Excellent buy. It’s difficult buying boots online but these were described well and lived up to expectations
Hardcore Walker’s may find these a bit lightweight but as an every day boot these are excellent.
i have only walked 14 miles so far but the boots are comfortable and light.
Great boots, feel so comfy, especially if you have narrow feet. Waterproof and the quality you expect from a brand like Berghaus. Trek on!
Really nice boots for most walking situations, warm in the recent snow and waterproof, no wet socks. Comfy too on rocky ground. For the price these are a quality product from a maker you can trust. I’ve worn them almost every day for a couple of months and apart from a few scuffs they are still great. I would say they may be too warm in summer but we’ll see.

Great boots for long distance walking and managed to buy them at a good price as always from Amazo
Having returned 4 pairs of walking boots for quality issues over the past 2 years, I have chosen these Berghaus really carefully. I walk on average 4 miles every day over mixed/ varied terrain and I have to say that the boots are performing brilliantly. They are lightweight and were comfortable from the word go, taking no bedding in. Water resistance is the best that I have experienced, as water just rolls off them. I dog walk through really muddy fields and the boots pretty much wipe clean. They also have great grip and flexibility.
Difficult to give a serious review as I’ve only just bought them and have been out walking in them twice covering a total of 16 miles. They look very good and they are lightweight. However I don’t find them quite as comfortable as my other Berghous boots but perhaps they need a bit more wearing them in. Typically of Berghous boots, they are on the narrow side. That’s fine for me but those who are considering buying a pair and have wider feet should definitely try on before you buy. So far as being Waterproof is concerned I’ve only walked through a few puddles in the time I’ve had them. My other pair are a couple of years old and remain waterproof and I expect them, and my new pair to remain waterproof for some time to come. Overall good boots which I expected to give me great service for a good few years.
The only problem is the laces that automatically untie without warning
These are a reasonable price for a decent boot.
Normally known for clothing berghaus boots tend to be overlooked but there is no reason why they should be as i have found these to be comfortable, warm with good grip.
The boots come to just under my ankle bone and the cushioned collar makes them soft and comfortable and stops any rubbing.
The boots have been warm in the recent snow and rain and they kept out the wet, but i would recommend adding a waterproofing wax or spray to keep them in good condition as the manufacturers coating will no doubt wear down in time.
They fit true to size and don’t need thick socks as they are warm and they haven’t rubbed my heels.
These are easily the best walking boots ive ever worn. I do a LOT of walking every day. I did the 3 peaks challenge a few years ago and i wish i had these boots then. I’ve worn these boots 5 days week for around 8 to 10 hours a day carring some serious weight while I do and they are still in great shape. Nothing has come loose, none of the stiching has come apart and they are still 100% water proof. Best of all my feet never sweat in them which has always been a problem before. I can’t recommend these highly enough.

Worn straight out the box for a 10k wet & muddy hike and cannot fault them so far. Pleasantly surprised. Comfortable, feet stayed dry in 3+inch puddles and generally a good looking shoe too. I got a slight blister high on my heel but i would generally expect this from a new shoe that hasn’t been broken in yet.
Work outside every day walking between 15 n 20km 5days a week, without a doubt the best yet, could be a we bit better insulated, toes get cold
Decent all round boot which was sized correctly. Not tested on the waterproof bit. Thought they were a good price and they are comfy and with wear more so.
Everything I would expect from Berghaus.Boots are well made and fit well..a little stiff on the first few uses, but soon break in.Quality Footwear for a decent price.Couplet these Boots with a pair of Sealskinz Socks and your feet will never be wet again.
Good boots but dont think they would be great using them every day for hiking
