It does what it promised which is excelle
It is really hard for me to lift in and out of the pond as I am elderley. I use a thick cord tied onto the handle to lower it into the pond and that enables me to be able to pull it up and out for cleaning. Its excellent for keeping the pond clear and my twelve fish are happy again!

Replacement for our old In-pond pump and filter. Original went well and easy to clean etc so hopefully this will be same. Water already far clearer, had to replace original when couldn’t get the UV light housing out to replace bulb although no problems on last change.

From past experience this product is very good however as is often the case with most pond filters just as the guarantee runs out the product dies – I had no hesitation though in replacing my broken Blagdon with a new one but unfortunately I had to return it as my fish died after horrendous weather conditions
Impressive performance
Very easy to set up, but would have been nice to have 2 UK main plugs come with it.
My pond was so green that algae was killing my fish, but within 48 hrs, this started to change. Now a couple of weeks later, the water is clear to the bottom and my fish are so much happier. Great unit, reccomend
Smaller version of my last one
A good effective pump (plug needs to be added) but unlike my last one, the light stays on all of the time rather than having the option of having it come on at night. Also there is no handle to take it out of the pond which is very tricky. The plastic on one of the fountain sections has already split and cannot be used and they all detach periodically as they do not fit very well. Unfortunately I cannot use the spare parts from my broken Blagdon 5 in 1 as they are different sizes.

I am very impressed with this, my pond was very, very clouded and muggy, it was easy to install and within a few days the improvement was noticeable and now the water is completely clear, I would definitely recommend.

My small pond was green and I have 5 fish living in it. My solar panel pump was not up for the job so bought this mains pump. Within a few days the quality of the water was much cleaner. Great looking fountain v powerful. Def recommended

I have owned this a month now and the filter is quite good. I wouldn’t say it has made my water crystall clear but it’s an improvement on my last pump and every pond is different. The only issue I have had is that the LED sensor is a bit hit and miss which leads to the light intermittently flashing at night.
You will need two plugs as the pump and UV run on different leads.

Awesome. For my small pond. After about a week water is now crystal clear. Easy to pull out once a week and quickly clean the top and sponges. Place back and it’s back to normal. I wasn’t expecting this to be so good. Pond was green and hard to see anything before. Now can see the bottom perfectly.

This is the second time I’ve brought this pump I’ve two ponds and it works very well I do run them through a secondary filter but you don’t need to, when you think it filters runs through an ultra violet to help control blanket weed and can be a fountain as well as I do run to second filter, they are well worth the money

Finally, a filter/pump which does exactly what it says it will…..and within a week of installing it! I could not believe the transformation of my pond from pea green soup to clear water. Replacement pump
Bought as an emergency replacement for the previous blagdon pump that’s stopped working. After lockdown has finished I’m going to return it to the shop to see why it’s stopped working! Despite the technical hitch, I still feel it’s a great product.

I love this filter. Made my pond crystal in just a few days. It’s only been installed perhaps three weeks, and I can see every stone clearly at the bottom of my 6′ x 6′, 2 1/2′ deep pond. It was simple to put together, and appears to be easily cleaned, compared to my fish tank filters. The light illuminates my full pond and there’s not much electricity used either which is always a bonus. As powerful as I need it to be. Only your imagination will limit in what you can achieve with the outlet flow, or just have it on fountain mode. Not my thing, I like waterfalls and so do my fish.
I’ll be definitely buying another for my waterfall/river into nature pond.
Does the job
Comes in a big box with loads of attachments. The pump has it’s own power cord and the base unit for the UV has it’s own powercord. Both need to be fitted to a plug and the plugs aren’t supplied, so I took a plug off my old pump and found another to use as well. Unit is quite big and bulky but not too bad to clean, though will have to replace the material inside once in a while, they say monthly. I’ve had it running for a few weeks now and it’s been good, will need to clean it out shortly, so it will be high maintenance, but it’s on the cheap end for an all in one.

The good thing about the Blagdon pump is that as it says it has several functions light, filter, and several different spray features better than buying several different devices.
Assembly is reasonably easy but there are videos on youtube to show you how to assemble the pump if you are not sure, also videos of how to clean the filter.
As expected I found the pump on Amazon to be quite a bit cheaper than my local garden centre.
So far and its early days the pump is working perfectly.

Light sensor needed to settle dow
Pump and filter worked immediately. Light took time to settle down and first couple of days/nights went on/off intermittently. Slightly concerned after following up reviews on Amazon where people appeared to have a persistent issue with the light but in our case from day/night 3 cycle onwards the light has worked absolutely fine. Very pleased with purchase – recommend.

My pond was really quite green, I forgot to take a before photo, but now after less than a week, only running in daylight hours, it is crystal clear. This all in one pond pump has worked a treat in my pond which was very murky like green pea soup! It was easy to assemble and wire into my waterproof electric box. Two wires ( one for the pump and led light, and the other for the UV light). At first the led light did not work even though I positioned the rubber cover over the light sensor so that the light should come alight whether in daylight or night-time. However I positioned the pump into the pond and the pump and waterfall worked ok. Out of the blue the led light came on! So I removed the rubber cover from the sensor and the light went out. After dark the led light came on, so all was working as it should. After a day the pump pressure seemed a bit low so I turned off the power and cleaned out the filters which were clogged up. I did this each day for 4 days and the pond became really clear so that I could easily see all the fish and actually see the bottom of the pond! I will only need to clean the filters about once a month or so from now on.
This is a great pump as it does everything without having to buy separate filters or UV lights.

Excellent Pump
We were into a third summer of a pond badly contaminated with green algae after the previous twenty two years without a problem. We think the algae was introduced with a dodgy bag of aquatic compost. The pump we were using at the time couldn’t clear it and a larger pump also was unable to clear it. We purchased the Blagdon 5 in 1 6000 in a state of desparation. Reviews that we had read led us to believe that we may have to persevere for a month to get appreciable results. We are now at six weeks and our pond is completely clear and we can see the bottom of the pond which is 24 inches deep. We have had to clean the filters twice per week and they are still filling up with brown silt which I suspect is from the bottom of the pond although we try to dredge it frequently. The cleaning is straightforward once the pump is out although it’s rather heavy to remove and by leaving on the switch for the UV light we are able to check on the bulb with each clean as the inspection cover is in the filter case. This is without doubt the best designed pump we have had, is easy to clean and appears robust in construction. Time will tell on its longevity but I have confidence that, with good maintenance we should get years of service out of it.

The Blagdon 6000 was a purchase for my parents pond to make cleaning easier. We found watching the online video’s useful before Installation. Also some DIY electrical knowledge useful. We didn’t find any information about fuse amp size so we played safe with a 3amp initially to see how it goes.
So far highly delighted with the 5 in 1 will review again after our first attempt with cleaning the system!

Absolutely no issues with the working of the pump & filter once I had completed some DIY.
I was not expecting to open a sealed box to find that the UV contact chamber (item 9 in the manual) and the locking nut on the connecting pipe had not been fitted in the filter body (item 14) thereby leaving the quartz sleeve exposed. Presumably, the unit had not been checked prior to sealing the box.

It has cleaned up my murky pond and runs 24/7. It will be interesting to see how long it continues. I clean it once a week though that should reduce as it continues toclean.

Already had one did a great job. The uv bulb died after 2 years .. so needed new bulb filter materials etc .. decided best to buy another and mix and match parts rather than unistalling old and installing new.

I have a 2m x 2 m x 1m deep pond and despite using all sorts of cleaning chemicals the water still remained green and the fish invisible.
After suffering this for 22 years I decided to buy the blagdon 5 in 1 6000 model
Wow this is the best decision I have ever made the water is now crystal clear so much so I can see every tiny bit of shingle on the bottom of my pond and my beautiful fish of course.
I clean the 3 stage filter system every 5-6 days depending on the amount of sunshine we have had, it’s a minor job that takes 20-30 minutes but it’s well worth it as you will see by the amount of “muddy” deposits it collects. I’m 13 months into using the pump and have never regretted buying it, just remember to change the uv lamp every season to keep the pond in tip top condition.

This cleared my pond. I kid you not as a newbie. I was lost at why my beautiful 1.2 by 1 metre pond was ugly and green and stinking. This contraption, was easy to put together, easy to clean and really does let you see the bottom of the pond. I only wish I got it on day one, instead of smaller ones. My stones would be sparkling, like a stream. You live and learn. Take heed fellow nature lovers. This one did the job.

Had a better deal on the next size up. I recommend you size up, this is way over the top fo a 500 ltr (small) pond on paper. In reality its about right, sensible fountain. Good water movement but no rush. Flow can be managed also.
Ponds clear, everything looks happy. The wires are long, as it happens PERFECT length to go through a hole in my garrage wall and not present ip enclosure issue. Its easy to clean and needs sensible cleaning intervals. The night light cant be put on a separate timer circuit which id have preferred. Only way to turn bright night light off os remove bulb!
Together with Blagdon Pond Clear we went from pea soup, unable to see the fish, to clear water, and able to see the bottom of the pond in around a week. Cannot recommend this product enough, very easy to install, the only problem we had was stopping the unit floating. We looked on the site and found that a small number of reviews mentioned this. One reviewer stated that after weighing the unit down with a brick for 3 days cured the problem. True enough after 3 days we removed the brick and the unit stayed submerged. Very happy.

We had a natural pond for all of 2 weeks but it soon looked green and we couldn’t see the fish we purchased. so we decided to remove that pond and replace it with a new one. we purchased this product and are happy to say that the product is fantastic..its easy to clean and the 3 different types of water features looks amazing especially with the light..the bubble feature we like best as on an evening the reflection of the light looks like there is electricity volts running through the water feature its quite mesmerising to watch..the fish we can see very clearly now…we can actually put the water in a glass and its crystal clear..its easy to set up and install, point to consider you need two outdoor plug sockets. which we already had. we have had this product 3 weeks now , so far so good.

Blagdon great for pond pumps, and next day delivery!
This was the same as the one I’ve replaced in the pond which served our fish well over five seasons.
We had it assembled and installed within an hour, and having had loads of different pumps over the decades I consider it the best for my pond and the fish are having a ball!!

bought this to replace the smaller one which was recommended for my size pond. It has been an excellent swap as my pond is clear and hasn’t been like that for a while. I bought this pump a few months ago as our water trough pond got very green and murky. We had to get an electrician in to install the 2 sockets needed and switch we had to buy separately.
The pump cleared the pond completely in a couple of days so we can now see our fish. The pump is easy to clean out using pond/rain water. The light can be set to just come on a night, there is a little flap which can be positioned over the sensor which the instruction book does explain very well.

I bought this to replace a Hozelock Easyclear that had been installed in my pond for the past 7 years. In that time the water has always been a murky green colour and suffered horrendous algae blooms in summer. So after years of trying everything I could think of, I decided to finally change the filter for a different brand and the results are staggering. Within 7 days of installing the new Blagdon 3000 the pond is crystal clear and we can see the fish even when they are at the bottom of our 60cm deep pond. Quite what the difference is between the two manufacturer’s units I do not know, but the Blagdon does have more filter media and the water seems to flow over the UV bulb in a slightly different way. It is a bit bigger and heavier than the Hozelock but it works and that is the important thing.

Perfect for small ponds
The water had turned green in my pond by the time I installed the pump. It was clear within days. The light lights up the bridge over my pond as well as the fountain and looks quite spectacular. It also gives a good flow to my waterfall. The fish also seem very pleased with it!
Having tried a few others without much success in my small pond I finally came across this. The UV lamp keeps the algae under control of course but what really does the business is the large area triple filter system. The final filter at the bottom is a layer of “polywool” and this is what takes out the finer particles. You will need to take the unit out and clean the filters out from time to time but heigh ho, they do the job better than any other make I know. I buy a fresh UV lamp at the start of each season and replace that bottom polwool filter from time to time as it gets too clogged up for further cleaning.

I have a Blagdon half moon pond. The in pond pump is wonderful and does all it says on the label, but hey don’t appear to last too long. I have had two in 3 years, so their shelf life seems to be very short. However both Amazon and Blagdon are wonderful to buy from and the issues rectified quickly.
