Hammer 🔨 Ja was soll ich sagen , hab so einige Lautsprecher fr den innen und auen Bereich aber der w-King d9 is der Hammer Wahnsinn wie laut er geht und sich trotzdem gut an hrt ( klang / Bass ) TOP

Forse mi aspettavo qualcosina di pi come pressione sonora, ma probabilmente sono troppo esigente..
— Una nota molto positiva che, quando si usa la Micro SD per riprdurre musica, la si spegne e poi la si riaccende, riparte dal punto precedentemente interrotto anzich dall’inizio della canzone (cosa molto utile con le tracce lunghe).
Se ci saranno considerazioni positive o negative le aggiunger man mano che user la cassa.

Great sound, great battery life, great Bluetooth, great value! Didn’t think this could sound better than a Bose but I was wrong. Incredibly detailed sound and amazing bass for the size. All my music through Tidal sounds fantastic. For just 72 it can’t be beaten.

Great speaker, very loud and easy to use. I’ve actually been using this as a DJ monitor at bar gigs where they don’t have a speaker near the DJ booth. This thing is loud. The quality is decent too it doesn’t distort at the highest volume but I wouldn’t say it’s audiophile level of quality when you turn it up all the way. That being said it sounds very nice and if it’s volume you’re after you won’t find a better small speaker out there. I did a 5 hour DJ set on it last night at medium high volume and the battery only went down one dot (out of three).

Super Lautstärke Top Lautsprecher, wer noch etwas mehr Bass mag. Einfach in Google nach W-King D9 Suchen und Firmware-Update ausfhren.Nach dem Update ist der Bass noch etwas Tiefer und Strker, aber auch sonst ein Top Lautsprecher auch bei voller Lautstrke keine Verzerrungen htte ich nie gedacht.

Great Speake We have a fantastic Hi-Fi, a pair of Yamaha Monitor Speakers, Harmon Kardon power amp & tweaked (to bring up to date) with Marantz streamer/pre-amp so you can see we are a bit choosy about our sounds. We bought a cheap projector to entertain us in our ‘covid’ gazebos and thought we would upgrade the sound with this W-King speaker – cannot believe the quality of sound from this speaker, think we will run music thro’ it when outside rather than having our hi-fi running with the door open. So impressed with it have just ordered our daughter one for her upcoming ‘big’ birthday.
Great speake Great sounding speaker. Loud and very(almost too much) bassy. Just wish it didn’t take such a hard and long press to turn it on and off. Also wish the handle could be pushed backwards.

Better than my £115 JBL charge 3 my friend showed me one of these at his house and told me about it and I couldn’t believe how good it was compared to the price I paid for my JBL speaker. The W-king speaker is loud and massive compared to my JBL charge 4 which cost almost 40 more which I only bought a few months ago but couldn’t deliver the bass quality I need. It’s speakers are louder and built to handle genres like: techno, dnb, r&b & house all of which I love. Cheers
This new D9 is perfect for an indoor/garden sound system. The D8 is more a portable-based design. I have purchased both the D8 and this newer D9 model.

Bass is ridiculous so much within 5 minutes of playing had the neighbors knocking aha.
So maybe don’t play at max volume.
Bass is really good and produces a deep bass without compromising the mids or highs.
All round really impress as my friend has a 160 jbl and is no where near as good as this.
Wish I bought this soone Brilliant speaker, the NFC allows quick connection and I’ve not had to charge it yet after days of use. The audio quality took me by surprise with rich bass and surprising volume for a speaker of its size.
The portable charger feature is also a nice to have if your ever low on charge on your phone. I’ve had one phone call on it so far with no issues they could hear me just fine.

MY BEST WIRELESS SPEAKER I like using wireless speaker and i have the smallest one but when i saw the W-KING I said that this will be great when we are having barbeque at garden or if we go on a picnic somewhere , the batterry life is so long, you’re not going to worry that it will stop soon. The sound system is excellent for outdoor and i also used it for indoor when im baking while listening to my favorite k-pop band BTS

Great sound on the W King D9 Sound quality is great for the money and definitely loud enough for my dance classes in a big studio and outdoors. Just upset it doesn’t fit into the W king case I bought for the D9 speaker. Not sure I like the fixed handle maybe the strap on D8 model would have been better.

Better than expected!!!! Honestly love this speaker! Been using it for a week now and still haven’t charged it. Took it to the park whilst working out, used in the garden whilst BBQ-ing and just general music blasting at home. It’s honestly a mini boombox.
I ended up recommending it to my mother-in-law who loves blasting BTS out of her Bose speakers. She heard this and soon found out these were a lot better!

Picture is old. The new version has a hard plastic handle I have ordered this speaker and the handle is rigit plastic. The handle does not go down. Don’t order the case as it doesn’t fit.5 star. Only issue is the picture shows a material strap and the one that arrived was hard plastic, which means the carry case doesn’t fit.
Very good speaker for the price, Very Impressed This speaker has been one of my best purchases on Amazon. For the price I’m blown away how loud the speaker can get compared to other competitors, this a speaker where you take it to the park and hold a festival which I nearly done at my local park. Normally when it comes Bluetooth speakers the bass lacks, however this speaker has changed that statement and can feel the vibration of the subs which is excellent. Another thing that surprised me was the battery life, I was able to charge my phone and let the speaker play for hours and still had juice left when I was finished with the speaker. Overall this speaker is actually the one and would strongly recommended it.

Sounds superb for the price Bought this speaker today because my sony GTK XB5 had let me down after not much use, tbf i wasn’t expecting much for the price and when i looked at the size of it i thought m’mmmm its not gonna be the best……so i fired it up connected my phone up to it and could believe how good it sounds its not insanely loud like some say but there again I’m used to listening to a pair of tannoy dc3000s with a 800 watt 18″ subwoofer lol, i cant comment on the battery life as I’ve only had it today but sound wise its really good the bass is tight as your never gonna get something this size that shakes the house, the trebles are clear and all the details of the songs can be heard nicely even at higher volumes, if you close your eyes and listen to this speaker and someone said they had paid 160 you would believe them also its construction seems very well put together, worth the money and more
Sounds as good as Bose Crystal clear sound with great bass and treble. Being used with iPhone 7 via Bluetooth.

Loud. Really loud. Can you get a noise complaint in a park? Time to find out! Summary: I reckon this speaker could comfortably handle a 30 person house party, whenever those are legal again. You can really feel the sound pressure / bass, which I’ve never experienced from a portable speaker! Outperforms the competition 2-3x its price.
(If updating the firmware, which I would recommend: The speaker should be switched off before you start following the instructions. That threw me for a while! It’s very straightforward after that)
Indoor performance: This speaker is seriously loud – I haven’t been able to test it at even close to full volume since we’re still in lockdown, but I can confirm it goes extremely loud, and the bass is pretty physical. The equaliser button really does crank some bass out – the bass is audible throughout the house even if the music itself isn’t. Your neighbours may be less thrilled about this.
Outdoor performance: I have tested it in my garden and the bass performance in the open air is also incredibly impressive, even at lower overall volumes. I’m not sure when I’ll encounter a park empty enough to really crank this to its fullest (I maybe got to 20-30% volume in my garden before thinking about the neighbours).
Battery life: It’s not close 40 hours for me, up to ~12 depending on how much I want to feel the bass in my bones. Given I don’t expect to be using it for more than 8-12 hours at a time, this really isn’t an issue. Charging is pretty quick considering the batery size, and the auto power-off after 10 mins disconnected is useful.
Build Quality: It’s well built / sturdy – though if you’re planning to throw it in a bag, I’d jerry-rig some kind of cover / protection for the bass radiator on the rear. That’s the only real weak point – the rest of the speaker seems rugged.
Note: The equalizer button post-update is essentially one of the best ‘bass boost’ functions I’ve encountered – but it does muddy the sound a little bit. The speaker is still super loud & has excellent clarity when this is switched off – the bass is just less… oppressive. Treat that button as a nighclub experience, and select appropriate music accordingly!

lovely and totally worth i very very happy with this speaker and for the size of it, it produces an amazing amount of sound and quality definitely worth the money and im going to download the firmware update soonand see how much of a difference it makes
Sound is pretty impressive and battery life too I was nicely surprised by the sound. In our apartment with its subwoofer, almost too much for our neighbours. That’s a good complaint about a speaker.
Outdoors really impressive… you can hear the bass. Even outdoors I never go to 100% volume and it is performing well.

You will not be disappointed. As I work outside i needed a bluetooth speaker with a decent battery life and a speaker with a reasonable volume, well this is the best, very loud and more than i could wish for, very satisfied.
Great sound!! A little chunky but my goodness, the sound quality is just great considering the price, even at full volume the sound is still crisp – my only downside I have is I would like the handle to be a soft carry one rather than the hard rigid plastic handle but other than that would highly recommend, will be purchasing another to join with this one.
good speaker for the price amazing sound quality and the bass is amazing but the battery deoesn’t last very long at max volume and I had some technical issues where the speaker acted like I was pressing the indoor outdoor button every 20 mins or so.
Great design and powerful sound I have recently used a couple of Bluetooth speakers which were a bit high end so thought I should try this one out as well just to compare the performance in the lower price bracket.
I thought this looked really good when it comes to design although it lacks a bit of character which you would normally see in a high end speaker. Compared to those, the design looked a bit plain. But it sort of made up for that in the quality of the materials used. The casing and the drivers along with the inbuilt LED lights give it a bit of a modern and high quality feel. It looks well finished and smart.
It looks and feels sturdy and is quite heavy compared to other speakers I have used. It is portable as well as it has built in battery which can easily last a few hours. I realise it is IPX7 waterproof but I havent been able to use that feature till now. It might be useful for picnics in summer once the lockdown is lifted.
The fact that my wife continues to use it over the Echo speakers confirms that once set up and paired to a phone or in her case, her iPad, it is really easy to setup and use. It continues to connect without any issues. I tested it before handing it over and for it’s size and taking into account the cost of it, it produces a nice, crisp sound and the bass is quite loud as well. There is a bit of distortion at high volumes but we never reach that level of volume inside our house.
The variety of options through which you can play music through this is quite mind boggling. Bluetooth is already mentioned but it can accept AUX input, SD card, USB flash drive. You can also use it to charge your phone just like a power bank. It looks like a complete package.

So good she claimed it......one of the best things I have bought for the price. Sounded pretty good but after doing firmware update the bass got lot better….real lot better. It looks really nice and well built. Not just bassy the lows sound pretty good too. Connection seems pretty good and over distance dont loose signal…works if you take your phone upstairs. Must be good as I bough it for when doing work outside and after listening…just to see what its like she claimed it and put her radio away. Great to use as a digital radio through phone which explains the radio going away. Battery life is pretty good but when battery less then half full blue tooth connection not quite as good…….if you walk too far away like 10mtrs connection can drop.

Great! I have recently brought the W-KING 60W Bluetooth Speaker – Portable Wireless Speaker with Built-In Microphone .
This speaker is perfect for listening to music when either doing jobs around the house, working out or DIY work. It gives out a 60-watt max output and is really loud. It has Bluetooth connection so you can connect your phone etc to it and play your chosen music. I am really pleased with this speaker and it certainly does what it is supposed to.
A LOUD portable speaker for sure I was on the lookout for a new speaker to replace my old Sony srs-xb30 and spotted this on Amazon.

It looks great, kind of old skool, with the built in handle which really is required as it’s quite heavy for a portable speaker.
After lockdown and in summer I hope to get it outdoors and really see what the battery life is like at constant high volume but until then it will be mostly played at low to medium volume indoors and so far it has played for maybe around 25 hours total over a month of use and still doesn’t need charging yet.
I read that there is a firmware update available for this speaker which improves bass!? I don’t even know if I will bother doing it as it seems great as it is and I wouldn’t want to mess anything up.

Putting 40 hours battery life is an absolute lie, I charge the speaker as instructions said overnight before use for charge I’ve had 21 hours out of it which is good but only half of what The manufacturer says, I would still recommend this as a good speaker but expect 20 hour battery life and not 40
Let's Get The Party Started ! I was impressed with the quality of this bluetooth speaker, I start with a short description:
This speaker has a bluetooth 5.0 which is really good in terms of transmission, it can reproduce at distances of about 9 meters from my tests.
The output is 60w and has four speakers: with double woofers, double tweeters.
The charging time is about 7 hours starting from 0% and the battery is 12000 mAh. It is possible to charge via USB Type-C.
The weight is about 2.68 kg, I must admit they can be heavy, but it is justified by the power of the sound.
It is IPX6 waterproof certified, which means you can safely take it on a boat.
It also has a TF card reader so you can use it without bluettoth.
One really cool feature is that the speaker will automatically shut down after 10 minutes in pairig mode inf no device are paired, and this saves a lot of battery.
I had the opportunity to try it only at home since we are in lockdown and it is impressive the sound is clear and the bass is very strong. Can’t wait to use it with my friends on our travels.
This speaker for the sale price has no conmpetitor.

This speaker is incredible! Sound performance is packed with stunning clarity! I tried this outside on a windy day, and audio delivery was still great.
Bass is a force to be reckoned with. Given the speaker’s small dimensions, it’s hard to believe such thunderous bass is coming from this small thing. I’ve noticed that, compared to several other more expensive speakers that I’ve tried, the D9 doesn’t compromise sound quality for weighty bass. The tones are always pitch-perfect, and the treble frequencies are perfectly balanced no matter what kind of music or movie I’m listening to. The strong bass frequencies don’t interfere with the integrity of the sound.
Bluetooth connectivity is seamless, and I’ve never had the need to use the audio cable. I absolutely love the NFC connection feature; it takes less than 5 seconds to pair my phone with the speaker. I’m also very impressed with the D9’s battery life. I’ve been using the speaker for more than two weeks of almost daily 1-2 hour use, and I still haven’t needed to recharge it.
The speaker itself is also very durable, and its waterproof design is a great advantage for when using near a pool or on the beach.
The black industrial design gives it a high-performance appearance, and the speaker itself doesn’t take too much space next to my TV or on my desk. It does seem a bit too big for a typical bag on an outing, though it is definitely well worth the space. The only niggle for me is that it’s quite heavy. It’s solid but heavy and so portability might be an issue if walking for a long while or carrying this along with other stuff.
Overall, this is a top-end speaker that makes the best of any type of music or movie whilst being at a budget price. Would not hesitate to recommend!

Excellent, rugged, speake I wanted a tough speaker, to use in my home gym as I’m spending some time in there pretty much every day during our lockdown(s). The one I had been using was good, but didn’t “fill the room”, which is why I wanted something louder. I liked the design of this, as it reminded me of the ghetto blasters of my (distant) youth. The 60W output would also be plenty loud enough to use while I work out. In use, despite the chunky looks, it’s nice and light to carry – with big buttons for the controls, when you need them (I tend to use my phone to play/pause/etc. once connected). It connected instantly, first time, and the sound is very good. Not ‘tinny’ and not too much bass (although I do tend to the bass-heavier side of the fence). I’ve used this pretty much every day for the last few weeks, and I’m really pleased with it. It will also be great to use outside in our garden once better weather arrives in a couple of months.

This product is a real game changer for camping and at home. Great sound. Excellent idea to be able to charge things like your phone, i pad, etc. The sound quality is great. Its much bigger than what i tthought so we linked it to our TV to use as a cinema night. I want to buy a second now as i can see that you can pair two and have surround sound.
Powerful speakers with long battery life. Very impressed with battery life, it’s last over a week listening 4-5 hours a day. Usually with this kind of power speakers doesn’t last so long.

It arrived ready charged and we soon had our favourites blaring out. Simply connect to your device using bluetooth

This is a really nice, chunky design. All black, waterproof body. Nice strong and durable. A thick built in handle.
Large square shaped buttons around 2.5cm each, which is fab if you’re using while working with gloves on etc. These buttons are – power on/off, vol down/last track, play/pause, volume up/next track and equaliser function button. This switches to a bass mode. There is a mic on top too along with LED lights to let you know what’s going on.
The subwoofer and tweeters are at the back. The important ports/inputs are protected via a cap. These are aux input, USB input, memory card slot and type C charging port.
This speaker is roughly 11cm x 32cm x 14cm (19cm with handle). This is rechargeable, this takes around 7-8 hours to fully charge, which sounds like a lot but this can last up to 40 hours and it can charge devices for you, which is another bonus travelling with it too.
There is an aux cable and USB charging cable provided. These are braided cables, which is great as they’re more durable than generic charging cables.
Quick and easy to hook up to, you can use this whilst on charge, so before your first use, you could pair it ready, search for ‘D9’.
This is absolutely loud, I mean it was expected with a 60W speaker but this is great. There is a powerful midrange, it isn’t super bassy but it does definitely have some bass. The tweeters work fantastically, they’re really loud enough that even the quality of say a piano for example, comes through pitch perfect and beautifully loud. This speaker and it’s loudness, would work well in workshops, building sites possibly, parties, camping etc.
I think this is a very good quality speaker for the price. It’s easy to use. It’s made well and designed in a kind of chunky style way, which I like. It seems very durable and quite weighty. The fact that it’s waterproof, upto 40hours lasting and it can be used as a charging device aswell, makes it a brilliant traveling companion. I like the braided cables, it’s just that little bit more care towards the products needs.
I would recommend this. Very good for the price, I could imagine the quality it could provide with two linked up!
Superb sound quality AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE!! When I received this speaker I was amazed by the build quality and the sturdiness of it. It looks amazing and feels like a premium device. When I powered it on and paired it with my phone, I played some music and I was happy with the quality of the sound. It was crisp, clear and it was a clean output however I thought the bass was a little flat but it wasn’t bad. With a little research I found there was a firmware update to fix the sound issues. After I updated the speaker I played the same music and wow it has made a huge difference to the quality of the sound. The bass is very punchy and the sound just fills the room. The firmware update has definitely made the sound quality a lot better in my opinion.
This speaker for the price is excellent, The sound has really impressed me and I wouldn’t think about looking at the other higher priced known brands and why would I if this has really made a mark on me.
Excellent for my home gym I bought this for my my home gym. I checked on the reviews and saw that this was a speaker that had good bass but didn’t sacrifice on the clarity of the audio. I am glad that I bought this – the sound quality is excellent – crystal clear – and the bluetooth nature of it means that I can step into my garage and I am ready to play the music.
It makes a noise to indicate that it has been turned on and is ready, a few seconds later this is followed by a noise which then means that it has connected via bluetooth to your device, in my case, my iPhone. After pairing to my phone the first time, it now remembers the device all the time going fowards, which saves a lot of time.
The battery life on it is actually superb. So much so that I use it as a means to charge my phone whilst I am working out. It has a solid robust construction and seems durable. Very happy with it overall.

The speaker is made of durable material, comfortable and easy to use. Delivery was fast and the product was well packaged. The speaker is large, black, lightweight, with a nice handle for easy portability. The speaker is made of durable material and beautifully designed. It is convenient and easy to use, easy to switch buttons, 40 hours of operation, simple Bluetooth connection. Gives a noticeable amplification of the voice, changes the timbre of the voice, and helps great when recording meditations.
Deep bit with a retro classic look First words from my wife was…oooh i like that, now full disclosure, i was playing one of her favourite songs at the time, however she mentioned how it looked retro but still had a classic look to it, which i have to agree on.
It connects directly though to my phone (Bluetooth name was D9) and streamed Spotify seamlessly, i also tried NFC which although it’s a little more awkward it worked fine. Sounds comes out crisp and clear sand has a really nice base to it. It doesn’t reverberate through the table when playing like some i have had, but still sticks with that feeling that you can feel the sound going through you at high levels.
It’s got a black plastic feel with rubberised buttons on the top to control volume, etc. as well as the usual ports on the back for Aux in, power for charging and USB.

W-KING D9 Bluetooth Speake I have recently brought the latest edition to W-KING Bluetooth speaker range, the D9.
To note, I have also brought two of the previous W-KING models, the D8, which is a 50-watt max output unit. This was so I could pair the speakers. You can pair this latest D9 model with another D9, but cannot pair D8 and D9 units together.
This model, the D9 is now upgraded to 60-watt max output.
Both models are similar in weight, both are of a solid and sturdy build quality, which is reassuring for me. Both in black colour and the front grille design is on both models.
The noticeable changes are firstly the handle, which as my pictures show is now solid plastic, instead of an adjustable fabric carrying strap. The strap would allow user to carry out and about, over their shoulder, now the user will have to hand held. It depends on how the user is going to use the Bluetooth speaker.
The passive radiator/speaker is exposed at the back of the unit, which is a shame, and I would have preferred more protection, as it could get damaged.
There’s an increase in battery life, reported to be now from 8000mAh rechargeable battery on the D8 unit, to now 12,000mAh rechargeable battery on the D9.
The button control display is the same, with the option for sound boost for indoor and outdoor use.
The D9 unit comes already charged, so its plug and play. Easy to Bluetooth and connect. Leads are also included for charging, and if user wants a wired connection instead of Bluetooth. Equally, D9 unit allows MP3 player or smartphone to charge.
The D9 unit is now of a IPX6 waterproof construction, which means it is protected from powerful water jets, but does not mean you can place this unit in a swimming pool or prolonged raining.
I have tested the sound against each other, and in my opinion the D8 still sounds too tinny, with not enough bass. The latest model, the D9 does have an increase in sound and power output, and a noticeable increase in that of bass, but it is by no means as much bass as I personally like, I am a bass beast. I just hope that further W-KING models in the future install better more bass responsive sub woofers.
I could upload a sound video, but I find these of little use as the sound quality is dictated by the laptop speakers or smartphone speakers being used to view the video, and never get a true representation of the sound from a speaker.
Would I recommend this D9 unit, the short answer yes, but would advise, do you homework first, ask yourself, what am I expecting this speaker to do, and how do I plan on using it for, and test it.
For the price, its value is good, against other Bluetooth speakers, such as JBL or Bose, which obviously have a more richer, deeper bass, and overall sound.
Settle back, close your eyes and enjoy the music This is the first time I have come across the W-King brand but if the D9 Outdoor Wireless speaker is anything to go by it could soon be on my favourites list. It comes well packaged in an attractive box (pic 1) and includes the portable speaker itself, a charge lead, a 3.5mm audio lead, multi-lingual instructions and a warranty card (pic 2).
The speaker (pic 3) is charged via a USB C port and accepts inputs from Bluetooth, a TF (SD) card, 3.5mm audio input or USB (pics 4-5). It is switched on by a long press of the power button, which also puts it into Bluetooth pairing mode should that be required. There are 4 other buttons for from left to right equaliser mode (either bass or treble boost), volume – (down)/previous track, play/pause and volume + (up)/next track (pic 6).
I listened to a variety of music over Bluetooth streaming from either my iPad or a stereo streamer. I then tried music files on a TF card, 3.5mm audio input from a mini system and TV and from a USB stick. The speaker sounds good out of the box but there were a couple of sneaky tweaks that I felt even improved things a little more.
You may toggle between the bass and treble boost equalisation modes by pressing the left hand switch. There is no option to turn equalisation off so you have to choose one or the other and while it is worth trying both; I absolutely preferred the bass mode over the treble mode. I then reduced the volume on the speaker (because it was near its maximum) and then increased the volume (gain) from my iPad. This is a useful trick with most Bluetooth speakers. It is basically about getting the volume level you want by balancing the gain (volume) of the source and the volume or amplification being provided by the speaker. Ideally, you do not want the gain from the source or the amplification to be running near their maximum (because this increases the likelihood of either clipping {where the tops and bottoms of the sounds wave form are literally chopped off – hence clipping} or distortion {where the amplification is being asked to do too much}). I ended up with both in the middle of their range at about 50-60% of maximum. This sets up a good level that will showcase the speakers dynamic range without annoying the neighbours too much. I then set the speaker on the firm surface of my glass and metal TV stand, closed my eyes and listened. I could go on about my extensive listening but suffice to say the bass is deep enough and well controlled, the sound is detailed enough, the mid-range and treble are sweet. It is really just about appreciating the music and over all it renders the music in a very enjoyable way.
Any downsides? Well is is reassuringly heavy (partly down to the substantial battery) and you will need to take a little care with the exposed bass unit on the back of the speaker(pics 4-5) but these are really minor things and otherwise no, it is all good!
So this speaker’s sounds about as good as you have the right to expect from a speaker at this price and as such it represents very good value for money. It has good battery life, has flexible inputs and add to that its readiness to enjoy adventures in the open air and you have got yourself a winner. Oh! yes and if you like AI smarts you could link it via Bluetooth to you favourite smart speaker or if you want or need it to, it will also go quite loud enough to scatter the pigeons in Trafalgar square. A great speaker!
Great speaker overall The W-King D9 is a 60w portable Bluetooth speaker that packs some clout despite it’s relatively compact size. The build quality is excellent with chunky well constructed plastic outer shell, metal front speaker grille and sturdy plastic handle. It is relatively compact but has some heft to it, although is easy to carry around using the excellent handle.
I really like the look of the speaker with its boom box design and it just works so well The only caveat is the rear passive radiator being exposed – it looks great as part of the overall design but feels a bit too exposed and probably the weak point of the speaker from a robustness perspective. It’s a minor quibble as it needs a flow of air around it to work effectively and I don’t intend on abusing the speaker with my handling of it.
It is designed as an outdoor speaker (as well as indoors of course) and carries an IPX6 rating making it water proof for a period of time, even in a fairly hard downpour. It cannot be submerged in water like with IPX7 or above, not that I would feel comfortable putting to the test anyway.
Bluetooth connection is quick and seamless with my chosen device. I’m not sure how many devices it can be paired with but there is a reset nodule hidden away at the back if you need to do a factory reset on pairing and the like. In terms of connectivity there is Bluetooth, TF card support, NFC and USB. Charging is via USB-C and being a 12,000mAh battery it can take quite a while to charge from low battery. The battery life is pretty decent though at up to 24 hours (not at full volume).
The large rubberised buttons on the top are comfortable to use and offer power on/off, plus and minus buttons for volume up/down (short press) and track skipping (long press) plus EQ selection. There appears to be two EQ presets – one that provides more treble and another bass boosted mode. I much prefer the bass boosted EQ as the sound is disappointingly flat without it. Bass boost provides a fuller, richer sound but maybe at the slight expense of clarity. Sound carries well from the speaker and bass response can vary depending on placement of the speaker – the bass is fairly punchy but not a booming bass, quite well balanced overall. I’ve tried up to about 70% volume and it gets pretty loud with very little, if any, distortion (certainly not notoceable).
Overall this is a very good speaker as one would expect from W-King. Very good specs for a speaker of this price and size, with a gorgeous design to it (honestly I think it’s great). A couple of minor quibbles but overall very easy to recommend.

Didn’t think this could sound better than a Bose but I was wrong. Incredibly detailed sound and amazing bass for the size. All my music through Tidal sounds fantastic. For just 72 it can’t be beaten.

I’ve actually been using this as a DJ monitor at bar gigs where they don’t have a speaker near the DJ booth. This thing is loud. The quality is decent too it doesn’t distort at the highest volume but I wouldn’t say it’s audiophile level of quality when you turn it up all the way. That being said it sounds very nice and if it’s volume you’re after you won’t find a better small speaker out there. I did a 5 hour DJ set on it last night at medium high volume and the battery only went down one dot (out of three).

Super Lautstärke
Top Lautsprecher, wer noch etwas mehr Bass mag. Einfach in Google nach W-King D9 Suchen und Firmware-Update ausfhren.Nach dem Update ist der Bass noch etwas Tiefer und Strker, aber auch sonst ein Top Lautsprecher auch bei voller Lautstrke keine Verzerrungen htte ich nie gedacht.

We have a fantastic Hi-Fi, a pair of Yamaha Monitor Speakers, Harmon Kardon power amp & tweaked (to bring up to date) with Marantz streamer/pre-amp so you can see we are a bit choosy about our sounds. We bought a cheap projector to entertain us in our ‘covid’ gazebos and thought we would upgrade the sound with this W-King speaker – cannot believe the quality of sound from this speaker, think we will run music thro’ it when outside rather than having our hi-fi running with the door open. So impressed with it have just ordered our daughter one for her upcoming ‘big’ birthday.

Great sounding speaker. Loud and very(almost too much) bassy. Just wish it didn’t take such a hard and long press to turn it on and off. Also wish the handle could be pushed backwards.

An outdoor speaker was the last thing on a long list of things I need for the summer and so far this has been my most exciting purchase, this speaker is amazing. The sound quality is spectacular even at higher volumes. If you are looking for an outdoor speaker would recommend you pick this up.

Better than my £115 JBL charge 3
my friend showed me one of these at his house and told me about it and I couldn’t believe how good it was compared to the price I paid for my JBL speaker. The W-king speaker is loud and massive compared to my JBL charge 4 which cost almost 40 more which I only bought a few months ago but couldn’t deliver the bass quality I need. It’s speakers are louder and built to handle genres like: techno, dnb, r&b & house all of which I love. Cheers

Battery life:
D9 trumps D8 by at least 10% more playtime. It’s a bigger system.
Loudness:
Negligible difference.
Both turned up every night at 3am will get you evicted.

Bass is ridiculous so much within 5 minutes of playing had the neighbors knocking aha.
So maybe don’t play at max volume.
Bass is really good and produces a deep bass without compromising the mids or highs.

Brilliant speaker, the NFC allows quick connection and I’ve not had to charge it yet after days of use. The audio quality took me by surprise with rich bass and surprising volume for a speaker of its size.
The portable charger feature is also a nice to have if your ever low on charge on your phone. I’ve had one phone call on it so far with no issues they could hear me just fine.
Das Ding ist der Hammer. Fr den Preis kriegt man wohl kaum etwas besseres. Der Bass ist mehr als anwesend und der Klang ist einwandfrei. Ich bin am berlegen einen zweiten zu kaufen. Man muss nur aufpassen dass der Lautsprecher nicht runterfllt. Wenn er auf glatten Oberflchen steht und man wie ich, die neue Firmware geupdated hat, bewegt er sich ganz gerne mal in basslastigen Titeln. Das Ding ist der Hammer. Fr den Preis kriegt man wohl kaum etwas besseres. Der Bass ist mehr als anwesend und der Klang ist einwandfrei. Ich bin am berlegen einen zweiten zu kaufen. Man muss nur aufpassen dass der Lautsprecher nicht runterfllt. Wenn er auf glatten Oberflchen steht und man wie ich, die neue Firmware geupdated hat, bewegt er sich ganz gerne mal in basslastigen Titeln. IF I had a complaint it would be the handle as its fixed position makes it a bit more tricky to fit it into a bag. Personally I would have preferred the strap handle from previous versions or a handle that can fold away

MY BEST WIRELESS SPEAKER
I like using wireless speaker and i have the smallest one but when i saw the W-KING I said that this will be great when we are having barbeque at garden or if we go on a picnic somewhere , the batterry life is so long, you’re not going to worry that it will stop soon. The sound system is excellent for outdoor and i also used it for indoor when im baking while listening to my favorite k-pop band BTS

Great sound on the W King D9
Sound quality is great for the money and definitely loud enough for my dance classes in a big studio and outdoors. Just upset it doesn’t fit into the W king case I bought for the D9 speaker. Not sure I like the fixed handle maybe the strap on D8 model would have been better.

Better than expected!!!!
Honestly love this speaker! Been using it for a week now and still haven’t charged it. Took it to the park whilst working out, used in the garden whilst BBQ-ing and just general music blasting at home. It’s honestly a mini boombox.
I ended up recommending it to my mother-in-law who loves blasting BTS out of her Bose speakers. She heard this and soon found out these were a lot better!

I have ordered this speaker and the handle is rigit plastic. The handle does not go down. Don’t order the case as it doesn’t fit.5 star. Only issue is the picture shows a material strap and the one that arrived was hard plastic, which means the carry case doesn’t fit.
Very good speaker for the price, Very Impressed
This speaker has been one of my best purchases on Amazon. For the price I’m blown away how loud the speaker can get compared to other competitors, this a speaker where you take it to the park and hold a festival which I nearly done at my local park. Normally when it comes Bluetooth speakers the bass lacks, however this speaker has changed that statement and can feel the vibration of the subs which is excellent. Another thing that surprised me was the battery life, I was able to charge my phone and let the speaker play for hours and still had juice left when I was finished with the speaker. Overall this speaker is actually the one and would strongly recommended it.

An absolute beast of a speaker. Extremely loud and clear sound, excellent bass due to the built in subwoofer. Wireless connection to my phone and the battery life is fantastic. It’s quite heavy but you’d expect it to be when it’s such good quality. The design means it’s easy to carry with the handle, and the buttons on top make it easy to control. Cannot recommend this speaker enough. Competes with the top brands with ease and for a fraction of the price.

A great improvement on previous models of the W-king speaker, most notably the battery life, which is much improved. Sound quality is excellent with no distortion at higher volume. Sounds superb for the price
Bought this speaker today because my sony GTK XB5 had let me down after not much use, tbf i wasn’t expecting much for the price and when i looked at the size of it i thought m’mmmm its not gonna be the best……so i fired it up connected my phone up to it and could believe how good it sounds its not insanely loud like some say but there again I’m used to listening to a pair of tannoy dc3000s with a 800 watt 18″ subwoofer lol, i cant comment on the battery life as I’ve only had it today but sound wise its really good the bass is tight as your never gonna get something this size that shakes the house, the trebles are clear and all the details of the songs can be heard nicely even at higher volumes, if you close your eyes and listen to this speaker and someone said they had paid 160 you would believe them also its construction seems very well put together, worth the money and more

Summary: I reckon this speaker could comfortably handle a 30 person house party, whenever those are legal again. You can really feel the sound pressure / bass, which I’ve never experienced from a portable speaker! Outperforms the competition 2-3x its price.
(If updating the firmware, which I would recommend: The speaker should be switched off before you start following the instructions. That threw me for a while! It’s very straightforward after that)
Indoor performance: This speaker is seriously loud – I haven’t been able to test it at even close to full volume since we’re still in lockdown, but I can confirm it goes extremely loud, and the bass is pretty physical. The equaliser button really does crank some bass out – the bass is audible throughout the house even if the music itself isn’t. Your neighbours may be less thrilled about this.
Outdoor performance: I have tested it in my garden and the bass performance in the open air is also incredibly impressive, even at lower overall volumes. I’m not sure when I’ll encounter a park empty enough to really crank this to its fullest (I maybe got to 20-30% volume in my garden before thinking about the neighbours).
Battery life: It’s not close 40 hours for me, up to ~12 depending on how much I want to feel the bass in my bones. Given I don’t expect to be using it for more than 8-12 hours at a time, this really isn’t an issue. Charging is pretty quick considering the batery size, and the auto power-off after 10 mins disconnected is useful.
Build Quality: It’s well built / sturdy – though if you’re planning to throw it in a bag, I’d jerry-rig some kind of cover / protection for the bass radiator on the rear. That’s the only real weak point – the rest of the speaker seems rugged.
Note: The equalizer button post-update is essentially one of the best ‘bass boost’ functions I’ve encountered – but it does muddy the sound a little bit. The speaker is still super loud & has excellent clarity when this is switched off – the bass is just less… oppressive. Treat that button as a nighclub experience, and select appropriate music accordingly!

very very happy with this speaker and for the size of it, it produces an amazing amount of sound and quality definitely worth the money and im going to download the firmware update soonand see how much of a difference it makes

I was nicely surprised by the sound. In our apartment with its subwoofer, almost too much for our neighbours. That’s a good complaint about a speaker.
Outdoors really impressive… you can hear the bass. Even outdoors I never go to 100% volume and it is performing well.

As I work outside i needed a bluetooth speaker with a decent battery life and a speaker with a reasonable volume, well this is the best, very loud and more than i could wish for, very satisfied.

A little chunky but my goodness, the sound quality is just great considering the price, even at full volume the sound is still crisp – my only downside I have is I would like the handle to be a soft carry one rather than the hard rigid plastic handle but other than that would highly recommend, will be purchasing another to join with this one.

amazing sound quality and the bass is amazing but the battery deoesn’t last very long at max volume and I had some technical issues where the speaker acted like I was pressing the indoor outdoor button every 20 mins or so.
Great design and powerful sound
I have recently used a couple of Bluetooth speakers which were a bit high end so thought I should try this one out as well just to compare the performance in the lower price bracket.
I thought this looked really good when it comes to design although it lacks a bit of character which you would normally see in a high end speaker. Compared to those, the design looked a bit plain. But it sort of made up for that in the quality of the materials used. The casing and the drivers along with the inbuilt LED lights give it a bit of a modern and high quality feel. It looks well finished and smart.
It looks and feels sturdy and is quite heavy compared to other speakers I have used. It is portable as well as it has built in battery which can easily last a few hours. I realise it is IPX7 waterproof but I havent been able to use that feature till now. It might be useful for picnics in summer once the lockdown is lifted.
The fact that my wife continues to use it over the Echo speakers confirms that once set up and paired to a phone or in her case, her iPad, it is really easy to setup and use. It continues to connect without any issues. I tested it before handing it over and for it’s size and taking into account the cost of it, it produces a nice, crisp sound and the bass is quite loud as well. There is a bit of distortion at high volumes but we never reach that level of volume inside our house.
The variety of options through which you can play music through this is quite mind boggling. Bluetooth is already mentioned but it can accept AUX input, SD card, USB flash drive. You can also use it to charge your phone just like a power bank. It looks like a complete package.

Sounded pretty good but after doing firmware update the bass got lot better….real lot better. It looks really nice and well built. Not just bassy the lows sound pretty good too. Connection seems pretty good and over distance dont loose signal…works if you take your phone upstairs. Must be good as I bough it for when doing work outside and after listening…just to see what its like she claimed it and put her radio away. Great to use as a digital radio through phone which explains the radio going away. Battery life is pretty good but when battery less then half full blue tooth connection not quite as good…….if you walk too far away like 10mtrs connection can drop.

I have recently brought the W-KING 60W Bluetooth Speaker – Portable Wireless Speaker with Built-In Microphone .
This speaker is perfect for listening to music when either doing jobs around the house, working out or DIY work. It gives out a 60-watt max output and is really loud. It has Bluetooth connection so you can connect your phone etc to it and play your chosen music. I am really pleased with this speaker and it certainly does what it is supposed to.

I was on the lookout for a new speaker to replace my old Sony srs-xb30 and spotted this on Amazon.
After reading some of the positive reviews I decided to order one.
Wow, it is MUCH louder than my previous speaker, it’s actually quite amazing the volume that comes from this thing!

It looks great, kind of old skool, with the built in handle which really is required as it’s quite heavy for a portable speaker.
After lockdown and in summer I hope to get it outdoors and really see what the battery life is like at constant high volume but until then it will be mostly played at low to medium volume indoors and so far it has played for maybe around 25 hours total over a month of use and still doesn’t need charging yet.
I read that there is a firmware update available for this speaker which improves bass!? I don’t even know if I will bother doing it as it seems great as it is and I wouldn’t want to mess anything up.

Putting 40 hours battery life is an absolute lie, I charge the speaker as instructions said overnight before use for charge I’ve had 21 hours out of it which is good but only half of what The manufacturer says, I would still recommend this as a good speaker but expect 20 hour battery life and not 40
I was impressed with the quality of this bluetooth speaker, I start with a short description:
This speaker has a bluetooth 5.0 which is really good in terms of transmission, it can reproduce at distances of about 9 meters from my tests.
The output is 60w and has four speakers: with double woofers, double tweeters.
The charging time is about 7 hours starting from 0% and the battery is 12000 mAh. It is possible to charge via USB Type-C.
The weight is about 2.68 kg, I must admit they can be heavy, but it is justified by the power of the sound.
It is IPX6 waterproof certified, which means you can safely take it on a boat.
It also has a TF card reader so you can use it without bluettoth.
One really cool feature is that the speaker will automatically shut down after 10 minutes in pairig mode inf no device are paired, and this saves a lot of battery.
I had the opportunity to try it only at home since we are in lockdown and it is impressive the sound is clear and the bass is very strong. Can’t wait to use it with my friends on our travels.

Sound performance is packed with stunning clarity! I tried this outside on a windy day, and audio delivery was still great.
Bass is a force to be reckoned with. Given the speaker’s small dimensions, it’s hard to believe such thunderous bass is coming from this small thing. I’ve noticed that, compared to several other more expensive speakers that I’ve tried, the D9 doesn’t compromise sound quality for weighty bass. The tones are always pitch-perfect, and the treble frequencies are perfectly balanced no matter what kind of music or movie I’m listening to. The strong bass frequencies don’t interfere with the integrity of the sound.
Bluetooth connectivity is seamless, and I’ve never had the need to use the audio cable. I absolutely love the NFC connection feature; it takes less than 5 seconds to pair my phone with the speaker. I’m also very impressed with the D9’s battery life. I’ve been using the speaker for more than two weeks of almost daily 1-2 hour use, and I still haven’t needed to recharge it.
The speaker itself is also very durable, and its waterproof design is a great advantage for when using near a pool or on the beach.
The black industrial design gives it a high-performance appearance, and the speaker itself doesn’t take too much space next to my TV or on my desk. It does seem a bit too big for a typical bag on an outing, though it is definitely well worth the space. The only niggle for me is that it’s quite heavy. It’s solid but heavy and so portability might be an issue if walking for a long while or carrying this along with other stuff.
Overall, this is a top-end speaker that makes the best of any type of music or movie whilst being at a budget price. Would not hesitate to recommend!

I wanted a tough speaker, to use in my home gym as I’m spending some time in there pretty much every day during our lockdown(s). The one I had been using was good, but didn’t “fill the room”, which is why I wanted something louder. I liked the design of this, as it reminded me of the ghetto blasters of my (distant) youth. The 60W output would also be plenty loud enough to use while I work out. In use, despite the chunky looks, it’s nice and light to carry – with big buttons for the controls, when you need them (I tend to use my phone to play/pause/etc. once connected). It connected instantly, first time, and the sound is very good. Not ‘tinny’ and not too much bass (although I do tend to the bass-heavier side of the fence). I’ve used this pretty much every day for the last few weeks, and I’m really pleased with it. It will also be great to use outside in our garden once better weather arrives in a couple of months.

Its much bigger than what i tthought so we linked it to our TV to use as a cinema night. I want to buy a second now as i can see that you can pair two and have surround sound.
Very impressed with battery life, it’s last over a week listening 4-5 hours a day. Usually with this kind of power speakers doesn’t last so long.
Ideal to take outdoors as well, it’s wether proof, water protection level IPX6.
On back it has NFC, USB and TF card slot which can play directly from it.
Bluetooth connection straight forward, no issue with connection and powerful signal.
Well designed, on top it has handle which makes it easy to carry around.
It also has build in microphone when connected to mobile I can answer the call.
Overall weight just around 2kg, it has 2 subwoofers with 93mm size and 2 tweeters.
Overall great unit, powerful and with very long battery life.

Wow! Great bass
This is an excellent speaker with great bass and the 60W can be really loud! Great for a party (when allowed)
It arrived ready charged and we soon had our favourites blaring out. Simply connect to your device using bluetooth

60W Bluetooth speaker
This is a really nice, chunky design. All black, waterproof body. Nice strong and durable. A thick built in handle.
Large square shaped buttons around 2.5cm each, which is fab if you’re using while working with gloves on etc. These buttons are – power on/off, vol down/last track, play/pause, volume up/next track and equaliser function button. This switches to a bass mode. There is a mic on top too along with LED lights to let you know what’s going on.
The subwoofer and tweeters are at the back. The important ports/inputs are protected via a cap. These are aux input, USB input, memory card slot and type C charging port.
This speaker is roughly 11cm x 32cm x 14cm (19cm with handle). This is rechargeable, this takes around 7-8 hours to fully charge, which sounds like a lot but this can last up to 40 hours and it can charge devices for you, which is another bonus travelling with it too.
There is an aux cable and USB charging cable provided. These are braided cables, which is great as they’re more durable than generic charging cables.
Quick and easy to hook up to, you can use this whilst on charge, so before your first use, you could pair it ready, search for ‘D9’.
This is absolutely loud, I mean it was expected with a 60W speaker but this is great. There is a powerful midrange, it isn’t super bassy but it does definitely have some bass. The tweeters work fantastically, they’re really loud enough that even the quality of say a piano for example, comes through pitch perfect and beautifully loud. This speaker and it’s loudness, would work well in workshops, building sites possibly, parties, camping etc.
I think this is a very good quality speaker for the price. It’s easy to use. It’s made well and designed in a kind of chunky style way, which I like. It seems very durable and quite weighty. The fact that it’s waterproof, upto 40hours lasting and it can be used as a charging device aswell, makes it a brilliant traveling companion. I like the braided cables, it’s just that little bit more care towards the products needs.

When I received this speaker I was amazed by the build quality and the sturdiness of it. It looks amazing and feels like a premium device. When I powered it on and paired it with my phone, I played some music and I was happy with the quality of the sound. It was crisp, clear and it was a clean output however I thought the bass was a little flat but it wasn’t bad. With a little research I found there was a firmware update to fix the sound issues. After I updated the speaker I played the same music and wow it has made a huge difference to the quality of the sound. The bass is very punchy and the sound just fills the room. The firmware update has definitely made the sound quality a lot better in my opinion.
This speaker for the price is excellent, The sound has really impressed me and I wouldn’t think about looking at the other higher priced known brands and why would I if this has really made a mark on me.
I bought this for my my home gym. I checked on the reviews and saw that this was a speaker that had good bass but didn’t sacrifice on the clarity of the audio. I am glad that I bought this – the sound quality is excellent – crystal clear – and the bluetooth nature of it means that I can step into my garage and I am ready to play the music.
It makes a noise to indicate that it has been turned on and is ready, a few seconds later this is followed by a noise which then means that it has connected via bluetooth to your device, in my case, my iPhone. After pairing to my phone the first time, it now remembers the device all the time going fowards, which saves a lot of time.
The battery life on it is actually superb. So much so that I use it as a means to charge my phone whilst I am working out. It has a solid robust construction and seems durable. Very happy with it overall.
First day of use and connected to my phone via Bluetooth. So far I cant complain. Sound quality is far better than I expected too. May edit the review in the future to give an update whether its good points or bad. First impressions are very good though. Does the job for my home gym.

Deep bit with a retro classic look
First words from my wife was…oooh i like that, now full disclosure, i was playing one of her favourite songs at the time, however she mentioned how it looked retro but still had a classic look to it, which i have to agree on.
It connects directly though to my phone (Bluetooth name was D9) and streamed Spotify seamlessly, i also tried NFC which although it’s a little more awkward it worked fine. Sounds comes out crisp and clear sand has a really nice base to it. It doesn’t reverberate through the table when playing like some i have had, but still sticks with that feeling that you can feel the sound going through you at high levels.
It’s got a black plastic feel with rubberised buttons on the top to control volume, etc. as well as the usual ports on the back for Aux in, power for charging and USB.

Another great speaker with really long battery life. Sounds loud and clear at all volumes. Not as much bass at lower levels of the older d8.Sounds great when you pair 2 of them.
I have recently brought the latest edition to W-KING Bluetooth speaker range, the D9.
To note, I have also brought two of the previous W-KING models, the D8, which is a 50-watt max output unit. This was so I could pair the speakers. You can pair this latest D9 model with another D9, but cannot pair D8 and D9 units together.
This model, the D9 is now upgraded to 60-watt max output.
Both models are similar in weight, both are of a solid and sturdy build quality, which is reassuring for me. Both in black colour and the front grille design is on both models.
The noticeable changes are firstly the handle, which as my pictures show is now solid plastic, instead of an adjustable fabric carrying strap. The strap would allow user to carry out and about, over their shoulder, now the user will have to hand held. It depends on how the user is going to use the Bluetooth speaker.
The passive radiator/speaker is exposed at the back of the unit, which is a shame, and I would have preferred more protection, as it could get damaged.
There’s an increase in battery life, reported to be now from 8000mAh rechargeable battery on the D8 unit, to now 12,000mAh rechargeable battery on the D9.
The button control display is the same, with the option for sound boost for indoor and outdoor use.
The D9 unit comes already charged, so its plug and play. Easy to Bluetooth and connect. Leads are also included for charging, and if user wants a wired connection instead of Bluetooth. Equally, D9 unit allows MP3 player or smartphone to charge.
The D9 unit is now of a IPX6 waterproof construction, which means it is protected from powerful water jets, but does not mean you can place this unit in a swimming pool or prolonged raining.
I have tested the sound against each other, and in my opinion the D8 still sounds too tinny, with not enough bass. The latest model, the D9 does have an increase in sound and power output, and a noticeable increase in that of bass, but it is by no means as much bass as I personally like, I am a bass beast. I just hope that further W-KING models in the future install better more bass responsive sub woofers.
I could upload a sound video, but I find these of little use as the sound quality is dictated by the laptop speakers or smartphone speakers being used to view the video, and never get a true representation of the sound from a speaker.
Would I recommend this D9 unit, the short answer yes, but would advise, do you homework first, ask yourself, what am I expecting this speaker to do, and how do I plan on using it for, and test it.
For the price, its value is good, against other Bluetooth speakers, such as JBL or Bose, which obviously have a more richer, deeper bass, and overall sound.
Settle back, close your eyes and enjoy the music
This is the first time I have come across the W-King brand but if the D9 Outdoor Wireless speaker is anything to go by it could soon be on my favourites list. It comes well packaged in an attractive box (pic 1) and includes the portable speaker itself, a charge lead, a 3.5mm audio lead, multi-lingual instructions and a warranty card (pic 2).
The speaker (pic 3) is charged via a USB C port and accepts inputs from Bluetooth, a TF (SD) card, 3.5mm audio input or USB (pics 4-5). It is switched on by a long press of the power button, which also puts it into Bluetooth pairing mode should that be required. There are 4 other buttons for from left to right equaliser mode (either bass or treble boost), volume – (down)/previous track, play/pause and volume + (up)/next track (pic 6).
I listened to a variety of music over Bluetooth streaming from either my iPad or a stereo streamer. I then tried music files on a TF card, 3.5mm audio input from a mini system and TV and from a USB stick. The speaker sounds good out of the box but there were a couple of sneaky tweaks that I felt even improved things a little more.
You may toggle between the bass and treble boost equalisation modes by pressing the left hand switch. There is no option to turn equalisation off so you have to choose one or the other and while it is worth trying both; I absolutely preferred the bass mode over the treble mode. I then reduced the volume on the speaker (because it was near its maximum) and then increased the volume (gain) from my iPad. This is a useful trick with most Bluetooth speakers. It is basically about getting the volume level you want by balancing the gain (volume) of the source and the volume or amplification being provided by the speaker. Ideally, you do not want the gain from the source or the amplification to be running near their maximum (because this increases the likelihood of either clipping {where the tops and bottoms of the sounds wave form are literally chopped off – hence clipping} or distortion {where the amplification is being asked to do too much}). I ended up with both in the middle of their range at about 50-60% of maximum. This sets up a good level that will showcase the speakers dynamic range without annoying the neighbours too much. I then set the speaker on the firm surface of my glass and metal TV stand, closed my eyes and listened. I could go on about my extensive listening but suffice to say the bass is deep enough and well controlled, the sound is detailed enough, the mid-range and treble are sweet. It is really just about appreciating the music and over all it renders the music in a very enjoyable way.
Any downsides? Well is is reassuringly heavy (partly down to the substantial battery) and you will need to take a little care with the exposed bass unit on the back of the speaker(pics 4-5) but these are really minor things and otherwise no, it is all good!
So this speaker’s sounds about as good as you have the right to expect from a speaker at this price and as such it represents very good value for money. It has good battery life, has flexible inputs and add to that its readiness to enjoy adventures in the open air and you have got yourself a winner. Oh! yes and if you like AI smarts you could link it via Bluetooth to you favourite smart speaker or if you want or need it to, it will also go quite loud enough to scatter the pigeons in Trafalgar square. A great speaker!
The W-King D9 is a 60w portable Bluetooth speaker that packs some clout despite it’s relatively compact size. The build quality is excellent with chunky well constructed plastic outer shell, metal front speaker grille and sturdy plastic handle. It is relatively compact but has some heft to it, although is easy to carry around using the excellent handle.
I really like the look of the speaker with its boom box design and it just works so well The only caveat is the rear passive radiator being exposed – it looks great as part of the overall design but feels a bit too exposed and probably the weak point of the speaker from a robustness perspective. It’s a minor quibble as it needs a flow of air around it to work effectively and I don’t intend on abusing the speaker with my handling of it.
It is designed as an outdoor speaker (as well as indoors of course) and carries an IPX6 rating making it water proof for a period of time, even in a fairly hard downpour. It cannot be submerged in water like with IPX7 or above, not that I would feel comfortable putting to the test anyway.
Bluetooth connection is quick and seamless with my chosen device. I’m not sure how many devices it can be paired with but there is a reset nodule hidden away at the back if you need to do a factory reset on pairing and the like. In terms of connectivity there is Bluetooth, TF card support, NFC and USB. Charging is via USB-C and being a 12,000mAh battery it can take quite a while to charge from low battery. The battery life is pretty decent though at up to 24 hours (not at full volume).
The large rubberised buttons on the top are comfortable to use and offer power on/off, plus and minus buttons for volume up/down (short press) and track skipping (long press) plus EQ selection. There appears to be two EQ presets – one that provides more treble and another bass boosted mode. I much prefer the bass boosted EQ as the sound is disappointingly flat without it. Bass boost provides a fuller, richer sound but maybe at the slight expense of clarity. Sound carries well from the speaker and bass response can vary depending on placement of the speaker – the bass is fairly punchy but not a booming bass, quite well balanced overall. I’ve tried up to about 70% volume and it gets pretty loud with very little, if any, distortion (certainly not notoceable).
Overall this is a very good speaker as one would expect from W-King. Very good specs for a speaker of this price and size, with a gorgeous design to it (honestly I think it’s great). A couple of minor quibbles but overall very easy to recommend.
