Bosch delivers again with a good quality planer, I had a number of internal doors to fit and this made the job a lot quicker.
Never used a planer before and was very pleased on how easy it was to plane a few doors. This product paid itself off. Be careful to check there are no metal bits in the surface you want to plane or you’ll ruin the blade!
Bought this to plane down 5 doors following fitting of new floors/carpets. The plane made the job very easy and adjusted all the doors in a couple of hours. If I had done by hand it would have taken a day or more as in some cases needed to remove 6 to 7 millimetres. The plane is heavy but once you get used to the planning action it is easy to use

Very smooth nice and wide cut lots better than my old planner, but that’s what you get with a bosch quality.
Great plainer I had one before .for years …I really like this one ..
I had 4 sticking doors in my house, wasn’t going to pay someone silly money to fix them so went and bought this. Got to say it rips through wood with ease, I do recommend doing 0.5mm a time it just gives a flawless finish, no pressure needed just hold and push away. Also no need to sand after leaves a pretty smooth finish. Fantastic bit of kit, would recommend to anyone.

Few weeks later stopped working under any pressure. Sent back for a refund.
I love this plane. Easy to adjust planing depth, Nice to handle and easy to control switch. Blade guard to protect blade, not to noisy but probably should wear ear defenders. Shame its not in a case but would probably cost more if was.
A simple low cost product. If you have limited use for a plain, it’s ideal, does what it says on the tin. If you need something more heavy duty,,, spend more money
I am impressed with the relative speed which can be achieved with this plane.
If care is taken setting the depth, great accuracy is also achievable.
The bit of plastic on the rear of the plane seems unnecessary. It’s purpose is to elevate the plane to protect the surface when it is placed down but if you ensure the instrument has switched off before you put it down then I found it was fine without it. Happily it is easily removed and can be easily refitted for the inexperienced user. Otherwise, full marks again to Bosch.
I had never used one of these before but it certainly saved me time an energy. Removed a couple of mm from the edge of 18mm plywood in a jiffy. Something that using an ordinary plane would have taken considerably longer. I would advise wearing a mask and the next time I will investigate to see if my vacuum will fit. Unfortunately it does not come with a carrying case but I have purchased a Stanley 16″ toolbag approx 16 which does the job nicely as well as some extra pockets for other things.
Needs a little practice but basically easy to use, and effective.
Previously opened item delivered, box damaged and repaired with white labels, security seals broken, all parts there and working ok
I have used it a few times now and can say that it makes things a lot easier. Just be careful to follow the instructions to the letter and plane off a little at a time.
Good item but box was all beaten up.. was expecting better service
Typical Bosch quality, well made, sturdy to use and makes light work of basic planing, like trimming doors etc.
Great tool does the job well, It would have got 5 star if it came with a dust bag why they do not include one is beyond me
Great little plane. Love it, does the job it is meant to do with no fuss. Make sure you use something to catch all the sawdust though!
I bought the PHO 1500 as a necessary replacement for my previous Bosch planer that was so old I couldn’t get spares for it. Having outlived the old one, I suspect this one will outlive me! Very good tool – I like the quality.

Don’t think twice if this is on a promotion/discounted (under 50), easy to use, even for a first time planer.
Just make sure to practice on a random piece of wood and always work from the outside inwards.
Good piece of kit. Great price. Only downside is no blow moulded case.
Got it in offer so I really cant complain, however a dust bag would be nice..!
This planer is amazing! I feel like an expert now at planing the doors to fit. One thing buy a bag to collect shavings or you will get covered!

Should have bought this earlier was using a hand held planer which took ages. I then bought this with a couple of planes the job was done!
Will come in handy when I get all the carpets replaced.
Needed a planer to redo all the doors after getting new carpets. This tool was super easy to use and saved me loads of time and effort. My tip would be to take off just a little at a time..
I have owned a few cheap Planer like the above and this one has topped them all. Takes the wood away with ease. Just be careful you don’t get Plane happy and take to much off, it eats it away fast. While still nosey as you would expect, it’s actually the quietest one I have used.
Just had new doors fitted and then went and decided to get new carpets in two bedrooms – hence having to buy this. Very pleased I did, saved getting a joiner out to trim the doors. Tested out on scrap wood first and took 1mm at a time off the doors and then 1.5mm as confidence grew – total of about 10mm taken off doors “almost” perfectly (went on a slight angle but cant tell at all once the doors were hung. Definitely needs an extractor fitted otherwise you’ll be picking up wood shavings for years to come !! I had an old vacuum cleaner and so just connected the hose up to it and hey presto – no mess.
Got another couple of doors to do in a few months so will come in handy for that too.
due to arthritis i am unable to use my hand held planer so the bosch electric planer is just what i needed for the planing i am doing on my woodworking project. very happy with my purchase
I had a quote of a guy to fit 6 doors which left me astounded because of how much he quoted. Brought this and saved myself a fortune, it works really well, simple to use straight out the box. The only down side there is no guide for it which is a shame
Perfect for trimming doors down, very easy to use and planes smoothly and evenly.
Been using my trusty hand planes for years. Didn’t realise I needed this, after first use I wondered why I hadn’t bought on earlier.
Works well on wood and also for removing a composite surface on my boat’s deck, that was the main reason for buying it.
I ordered to shave a bit of garden gate which was rubbing against post every time it opened/closed.
The 1st one arrived but had been used which was replaced very swiftly.
As someone who does no DIY & has never used power tools, i managed to use with ease. It left it very smooth with little effort. Just needs coat of varnish now.
Loads of shavings did fly out all over & covered me head to toe as wind blew them towards me, so i would buy bag to collate shavings.
I bought this plane to replace an earlier model of the same thing that I bought more 12 years ago. I was pleased that it lasted so long. Hope this one will do the same.
Really easy to use, used it for fitting doors. I have used more expensive and cheaper ones in the future and this is by far the best.
This planner is amazing it’s so good and quick. And putting vacuum cleaner on it makes it mess free ish. Very very good.

Been missing an electric plane for years it seems used it for trimming doors that were rubbing but then went on to cleaning up old fence boards for shelving and trimming edges of kitchen units in situ for a new fridge to fit in a gap. Powerful and effective.

So easy to use with extreme accuracy in the plane depth. A little noisy, so ear defenders are recomended but planes so easily and leaves a perfect finish.
I used for some internal doors after new flooring was laid. Quick and easy to use. I bought the dust bag as well which made life a bit easier albeit still had to get the hoover out.
Sharp and clean cuts. Very impressed with the quality and would definitely recommend as a budget planne
