Why does the device detect objects all over the wall?
The tool detects spots that are different from the surrounding wall. Therefore, besides objects like cables or pipes, it will also detect bigger air gaps or other differences that might appear in some walls.
What should I do if the device displays different results for the same measurement?
Follow our tips for best results and make sure to do all the measurements the same way. In particular, move the tool slightly when you put it first time on the wall (so that it recognizes the surface) and keep the outer conditions constant.
Do I need to move the tool along the surface several times in order to measure?
Due to the spot measurement you don’t have to move the tool several times. But if you put the tool on the wall and it shows yellow light you should move slightly. Then, the tool will recognize the surface and show the best results.
How can I improve my measurement result?
Apply voltage to the cable being searched for (i.e. turn on the light), remove gloves/metal jewellery, turn off interfering electronic devices, & select the correct detection setting. Hold the tool properly and avoid touching it close to the sensor.
What about the radiation of the radar sensor?
The radar sensor inside the device uses a very small radiated power to detect the objects inside the wall. The maximum power transmitted is lower by a factor of 10.000 compared to a mobile phone.

Habe zuerst ber den Preis nachgedacht, ob sich solch ein Gert lohnen wrde. Kann das Gert hier nur wrmstens empfehlen. Es hat die Stromleitungen unter Putz einwandfrei geortet und uns so vor Schden beim Bohren geschtzt. Die Genauigkeit der Ortung ist sehr gut. Ich habe auch in einer gefliesten Trockenbauwand die Dachlatten damit finden knnen, um einen Spiegelschrank aufzuhngen.

Very accurate at finding Wall studs. Sometimes Electricity warning goes off in a wall that definitely contains no wiring. Getting used to its intricacies now. Yes it’s a lot more than some devices, but what value would you put on the cost of having to have a Plumber/Electrician, then a builder for repairs to your dismantled wall + plastering and re-decorating to get it back to the state it was in just before your drill went through in the wrong place? Looking at it that way I decided 200 odd was a worthwhile investment…
J’ai achet ce produit la suite l’acquisition d’une maison retaper. N’ayant pas ni plans lectriques et ni bton, je voulais tre sur de mes perages et dcoupes bton.
Je voulais disquer 2 murs entiers, donc n’ai pas trop le droit l’erreur.
Ayant dj acquis un autre model plus conomique, le Bosch Professional Dtecteur mural GMS 120 disponible sur Amazon ici: https://amzn.to/3bRc7en (Copiez/collez ce lien dans votre navigateur) dont je ne suis pas du tout content. Les dtections sont trs approximatives et plutt trop sensibles.
Il clignote en permanence mme en prsence uniquement de bois. Je pense que Bosch aurait d le peindre en vert plutt qu’en bleu. Enfin…
Je n’ose imaginer ce que les modlesde marques alternatives vont vous donner!
Donc, voil le nouveau matre bord qui j’ai confi ma scurit et c’est enfin le produit que je recherchais.
Oui, c’est cher, mais a marche presque 100%.
Dans mon cas, tout est en bton arm, donc il y a des faux positifs mais c’est normal.
Il faut bien lire la notice qui explique comment se placer le long du mur pour ne pas faire antenne avec son corps. Les commentaires ngatifsont d sauter cette tape cruciale.
Il m’a aid aussi suivre les rails mtalliques sous des panneaux de pltres.0 % d’erreur.
Il est solide et aucune rayures sur le socle, bien que je l’ai frott sur les murs en bton.
Livr avec 3 piles btons, la forme du rceptacle pile le rend compatible avec les batteries rechargeables Bosch.
Avec des piles, je n’ai jamais eu besoin d’en changer les 3 mois d’utilisation.
Je ne regrette pas mon achat. 100% recommand.
Et mmemieux, je l’ai revendu une fois la cartographie faite sur un site de petite annonce et presque rcupr mon investissement de dpart.
Donc il n’y a aucune raison de reculer devant l’investissement pour sa propre scurit.C’est Bosch et sa valeur la revente est importante.

Erst war ich enttuscht, weil das Gert an einigen Wnden alle paar Zentimeter angeschlagen hat – dachte mir: “Egal, das Ding spinnt – bohre ich einfach trotzdem!” und siehe da, die Wand war wohl aus Stahlbeton und habe direkt auf Armierung gebohrt…
An Nicht-Stahlbetonwnden zeigt es zuverlssig, wann man bohren kann und wann nicht.
Das Einzige, was mich strt, ist die Auflageflche an der Wand. Die ist einfach aus dem gleichen blulichen Plastik gefertigt, wie der Rest des Gehuses und somit fhrt man sehr rau ber die Wand und die Farbe des Plastiks frbt leicht auf die Wand ab! Ich verstehe nicht, warum es bei dem hohem Preis nicht mglich ist, weie Teflonauflageflchen zu verwenden, die die Reibung stark vermindern und keine Vefrbungen auslsen wrden.

Der beste Detektor, den ich bisher hatte. Leider etwas teuer. Aber Gutes darf auch was kosten.
I think overall this is a solid product. Bosch have shown that the technology they use in the higher end products is actually much cheaper to produce in this model, but I feel like this one is ‘artificially’ dumbed down so as not to break their revenue stream on the more expensive models that pro’s will buy day in day out. It seems pretty accurate, and 95% consistent, but does leave a little to the imagination and hoping that you’ve got it right. You have to be gentle – go slow and go over the area multiple times. Its a pain to hold, and thats the most annoying thing about it. The handle is actually just part of the overall one piece case, so you have to kind of grip it without connecting your hand all the way around. Its fine for a short while, but can be tiresome for longer periods.

Como he ledo en otros reviews, da la impresin de que da ms lecturas positivas de lo que realmente debe ser, porque me ha dado positivos en paredes que no deberan tener nada detrs. Es posible que sea por los huecos de los ladrillos.
Eso s, cuando dice que se puede taladrar y he taladrado nunca he tenido ningn problema.
Tambin me parece muy til que puedas moverlo por la pared y te va diciendo el lugar correcto para taladrar. Con los anteriores ms baratos haba que ir tomando posiciones en cada punto. Con este aparato lo puedes mover y te va diciendo en cada momento si hay algo detrs.

I’ve never felt very confident with wall scanners, often feeling a little dubious about results or failing completely to get a consistent reading. I felt the same about this Bosch Pro D-tect 120 at first and was quite underwhelmed. Despite the tool seeming fairly straightforward, a good read of the manual and a good understanding of the display’s icons is a must. The last time I used it I was much more impressed than the first few attempts, maybe because (due to the price and the size) I was expecting a lot more from it at the start. After more time using the tool I appreciate it needed some learning from different use cases and now I feel a lot more confident about what it is telling me. It is probably a bit overboard for an amateur DIYer like myself and I would be hard pressed to justify the expense if I hadn’t received this review version. Even now, it still feels like a lot of money for what you get, but I’m not really the target audience, I feel, as my previous scanner, 100 pounds cheaper, gives results not far different to this one. Given the choice now, I use the D-tect every time, as it is more practical and complete.
What this tool did do was introduce me to the Bosch Pro 12V System cordless range and I’m thankful for that, as I absolutely love the other tools in the range. The battery and charge in this bundle can be reused across the range, meaning you can get the other tools on their own for considerably less than you do if the battery and charger are included. I’ve now got 4 tools from the Bosch Pro range and absolutely love them all, even this scanner.
For the Pros, this is probably a good buy as the extra level of feedback you get from the screen saves time and gives more reassurance in locations where you have no knowledge of the walls you’re working on.
I’ve never felt very confident with wall scanners, often feeling a little dubious about results or failing completely to get a consistent reading. Immer noch ein Glücksspiel
Immer noch ein Glcksspiel. Ich benutze das Gert eigentlich ausschlielich fr Kunststoffrohre die mit Wasser gefllt sind. Ansonsten liefert das kleinere und billigere Modell beinahe bessere Ergebnisse.

Klappt nur wenn die Wand geeignet is
Geht nur wenn die Wand geeignet ist. Bei uns ist der Aufbau ReibePutz, Gipswand, 1cm Luft oder Kleber, Styropor. Im Styropor sind die Kabel oft nur 1 cm tief drin. Die Kabel erkennt unser Gert auch innerhalb der angegebenen 5 cm Abstand (bei Gipswnden) nicht zuverlssig.
Soweit hatte die Rezension 3 Sterne. Nachdem wir umgezogen sind habe ich doch noch einen vierten Stern vergeben. In unserem neuen Haus 80er. funktioniert das Gert sehr gut und zuverlssig.

First job was hanging three 68cm (dia) mirrors on a wall with 2 double sockets and a radiator fed with plastic pipes. The scanner easily traced the routes for both the wires for the sockets and the plastic pipes for the radiator.

An sich funktioniert das Ortungsgert wie beschrieben. Im Vergleich zum gnstigeren Bosch GMS 120 konnte ich jedoch keine Steigerung der Ortungsgenauigkeit feststellen.

Unfortunately I still had no time to test it thoroughly. It seems to work but I can't comment on how well it detects anything beyond the wall. The item looks great and of high quality. The price is great too, as always on Amazon. Will try to update this review if I'll finally use it extensively.

This is a very high quality detector – it looks good, has a good display and seems to work well. The kit i received includes the charger and battery, which is very good.
It’s always worth cross checking detection to make sure it works as expected, but for me it seemed to work very well and very easy to use. Complements all the other Bosch blue tools as well.

Fr mich war es ausschlaggebend, dass dieser 120er die Stromleitungen am zuverlssigsten anzeigt – wegen der Lebensgefahr durch Stromschlag.

You really need to practise using it for a while to understand how it works and get used to it. Try it in your shed, hold a few examples of things behind the door or something similar. This is not a criticism of the tool. Practice does make perfect. I was convinced when i received this product it was too sensitive receiving cable signatures. The electricity detector was sounding off every time i got even somewhere close to a cable.
So a few pointers.
Do not expect to get an accurate reading by putting straight on the wall and doing a simple single pass. It has auto sensitivity which means you need to get a few passes carried out before you get an accurate result.
Look for the second meter to show the centre dot as it passes over known wires.
Get used to when the meter starts sounding/flashing verses the location of known wires and when it just shows a solid dot. Look for the centre-dot to appear as you move across the wall, keep going over the area – at least a few sweeps.
As it approaches something it detects it from a longer distance than the reverse. A few sweeps either side will give you the most accurate reading.
Make sure you hold it properly and avoid holding it by the head. Holding it by the head seems to really confuse the accuracy. And remove any rings and watches you may have on your hand/wrist. This again can cause confusion.
Keep your other hand on the wall. Possibly earthing yourself to the wall would give you a better reading? If you are charged with static it might affect your reading.
This is a professional tool which requires a good amount of preparation to ensure best results.

This Professional Detector is of a very good quality with an exact and fast determination of the structures of the material that is in the wall. It is used very easily and comfortably.

I have a standard Bosch detector and this one is much more accurate, as it should be with the price difference.
It needs a bit of practice to use and get the “swiping” speed correct. It gives a visual display and a bleep loud enough to hear even in a noisy environment.
You do wonder about the thought that went into the design however. It came in an enormous plastic carry/storage box that looks like a multi function box with a variety of sections.
Much is made in the blurb about being also able to use it with AA batteries, this is possibly true but the adapter is not supplied and does not seem to be available from Bosch either.
The rechargeable battery seems to last for ever particularly as this is not a device that would be in continuous use.
I think a better design would be for the battery to be built in and have a phone type charger which would make everything more compact and get rid of the need for the big box which could be replaced with a case/holster which would make it much more usable.
Incidentally spare batteries do not seem to be available from Bosch either.

The unit is supplied in a Bosch L-Boxx case, together with rechargeable battery and charger. As this leaves ample space, the case includes a plastic tray for a Bosch Professional cordless drill. Once you ‘buy into’ the Bosch Professional range, the batteries can be used interchangeably.
The Detector is simple to use with three modes for masonry, plasterboard and concrete with rebar walls. When moved across the surface, the ‘beeping’ and display shows the location of the detected object. Live wire cause the red LED to blink and a ‘live conductor’ indicator comes on.
In use, I found the detector worked a specified and was even able to locate a ceiling rose through floorboards in the floor above. It’s not sold for the purpose, but it can also locate ferrous nails etc. in lumber before running it through a saw.
I’d like to see a couple of improvement –
1) The essential instructions on a laminated card to tuck into a pocket on the L-Boxx lid
2) Low friction pads on the underside to minimise risk of marking when sliding the unit over painted wall surfaces

The box has a thin plastic insert that suggests you may also be able to purchase with a drill and other components, but there is definitely space in the box for other things to be added, although the plastic tray is unlikely to withstand too much heavy use.

Buena relaccion precio calidad
Funciona bastante bien pero en paredes reales da bastantes falsas detecciones y segun la profundidad puede no detectar.
I’ve used other (much cheaper) stud and voltage detectors before, but this one is so much better. The build quality is great and the it is a really easy to use to tool.
I used it to scan some walls before demolition, good job I did too as there were all sorts of hidden cables and nasty surprises in there! Through brick and plaster it worked a treat, finding hidden wires and metal work. It did struggle on foil backed insulation though, I couldn’t find the stud behind 130mm insulated board.
I really liked that it came with the AA adapter as I only have one Bosch Professional 12v battery

Bosch 120 D-Tect is better than other detectors of Bosch or similar products. In case of electrical cables it’s working fine even the cable are not nearby water pipes. Metal water pipes also is correctly detected, in case of plastic water pipes needs pacience and correct moving of detector. As in other detectors important is training and learning how has to be moved the detector and how to have to interpret the indications of the tool. Helpful is the indication of tool in which direction has to be move the tool to center the detection. Detection is going worser when different cable/pipes/metal objects are closed. for homeworkers is a good tool and better than the green line products of Bosch, for profesionals this tool is as good as they are. 100% perfect detection in any situation will not achieved by this tool. It is better than a normal detector, but not perfect. The perfect detector still has not been developed

Comme j’avais les deux sous la main j’ai fait un maximum de tests .
Rsultat : hlas 90 vous avez un jouet et 230 un outil !

Es ist bereits mein drittes Ortungsgert. Das erste war das kleine grne Bosch, welches nur Stromleitungen wirklich zuverlssig angezeigt hatte. Mein zweites war das groe grne Bosch welches schon etwas besser gewesen ist als das kleine aber auch hier war es nur bei Metallleitungen und Stromleitungen zuverlssig. In einer Stahlbetondecke hatte es dauerhaft rot gezeigt. Bei dem D-Tect 120 handelt es sich um mein drittes und bisher bestes Ortungsgert. Es erkennt Stromleitungen, und Metall sehr genau (bis auf ca. 1cm), selbst im Leichtbau und bei Stahlbeton ist es relativ zuverlssig wobei es Holz nicht immer erkennt. Die Fehlanzeigen sind deutlich geringer als bei meinen beiden vorherigen.

La spedizione : non capisco perch amazon si affidi ad sda che per la mia esperienza il peggior corriere che ho usato, infatti in ritardo di un giorno
Il prodotto : per il momento l’ho provato sul muro di casa e ha una precisione Millimetrica!
Note aggiuntive : in una risposta precedente un utente ha scritto che va solo con le pile, falso! Il libretto di istruzioni indica che va anche con le pile Bosch 10 volt e 12 (infatti ho usato una batteria da 10 gi in mio possesso e va alla grande)
Altra nota aggiuntiva: c’ chi nei commenti dice che non funziona, io ho un esperienza contraria, va che una meraviglia, consiglio a chi lo usa di togliersi anelli, orologi, tutte le cose di metallo, un errore di utilizzo di questi apparecchi molto comune, se dopo la causa un altra non saprei, per ora sono soddisfatto e lo ricomprarsi
(Ammetto che ero titubante a sborsare pi di 200 euro per un uso casalingo, ma ora che lo sto provando lo ricomprerei ad occhi chiusi, diffidate dai modelli inferiori nemmeno se sono Bosch, hanno un altra tecnologia, se volete qualcosa che funzioni c’ poco da fare…questo dopo lunghe ricerche il minimo da cui partire)

Buena herramienta pero...
La he usado un par de veces y me ha dado alguna lectura que otra errnea, supongo que tendr que probarla ms para saber realmente si vale lo que cuesta.
un buon prodotto, rileva facilmente fili elettrici, tubi e qualsiasi materiale metallico. Non ho ancora verificato se rileva con altrettanta facilit tubi di plastica (se pieni d’acqua), cosa molto importante negli impianti sanitari.
Hier handelt sich um eine bu Version, das heit ohne Akku und Ladegert. Das Gert kann mit Batterien betrieben werden, die passende Batterien-Box und die Batterien werden mitgeliefert. Also fr normale Nutzung meine Meinung nach, vollkommen ausreichend. Ich habe bisher das Gert bei frisch gelegten Kupferrohren und Stromkabel (nicht unter Spannung) getestet. Beides knnte sehr genau detektiert werden. Die Installation ist ca. 5 cm tief. Momentan bin ich sehr zufrieden.
mi serve per trovare i dubi della riscaldamento nel muro, e devo dire che funziona molto buono. Mi mostra anche dove vede il tubo (destra, sinistra, alto o basso).

Molto utile per non fare danni, peccato non indichi la profondit alla quale si trovano gli oggetti.

Scoraggiato dalle pessime recensioni dei modelli inferiori ho deciso di prendere questo prodotto che risulta effettivamente di qualit professionale.
serve un poco di dimestichezza nell’imparare ad usarlo a dovere ma vi riporto le mie esperienze
– Ha rilevato tutti i cavi/tubi presenti; in particolar modo la funzione cavi elettrici sotto tensione estremamente precisa ( se non sono sotto tensione li rileva come metalli);
– la rilevazione potente su un muro di 15 cm ha rilevato i cavi presenti nella parte opposta della parete.
– se fatto passare in pi direzioni facile capire i falsi allarmi
– va tenuto ben appoggiato alla superficie di lavoro
– la rilevazione del centro dell’oggetto molto precisa
ottimo prodotto utile per evitare danni quando si praticano fori al muro.
rileva anche fili elettrici in maniera precisa.
