This lawnmower cuts the grass well but the part that collects the grass is a bit flimsy, also I am having a hard time with the guarantee online I have put all the details in yet wont accept it.

I had it to replace a smaller Bosch lawnmower that lasted for about 6 years. The grass box is very flimsy and not a good fit. It doesn’t cut the grass short enough on the lower setting and have been advised to purchase and fit a washer to lower the blade. I wished I hadn’t bought it.

Good value and easy to put together and use. Not overly heavy. Easy to manoeuvre while cutting. Little noisy but it a lawn mower so that’s expected. Easy to adjust cutting high. Only complaint is the collection bin feels a bit flimsy.

    o need for a long review….
    very easy to assemble
    very easy to operate
very easy to adjust the cutting height, i set mine to the highest setting and this mower ploughed through with no problem
cut my medium sized garden with ease, i had a little jungle but its looking good now. cant wait to mow the lawn next week 🙂
my only thing was the weight, its not heavy and its not lightweight (middleweight contender)

This is my third Rotak over many years and I still think they are the best value for money lawnmower you can buy. As long as you look after them they work tirelessly cutting efficiently and easily on a medium sized garde

The main body is fiddly to put together, but when completed is fine. I would not advise “breaking it down” for ease of storage however. Although the grass box does its job, and takes a lot of grass before it needs emptying, the engineering of it is atrocious. Very flimsy feel, and in fact I have used duct tape to fix the joints in place. Having said that overall , it does do a good job

I purchased this model having used an elderly neighbour’s identical mower, whilst cutting her grass for her over the past year. It was easy to assemble (15 minutes), cuts as well as a new mower should, and best of all it leaves no residue cuttings on the lawn as it has excellent air flow and pick up capability. Its light and easy to manoeuvre and has a fairly long lead although I do use an extension cable.

2nd purchase of this item. Well impressed, ideal for my small lawn and mower couldn’t b easier to handle. Light and efficient. Grass Box is flimsier than previous model, lets see if ot stands the test of time.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersApproximately 15 Kg. in weight, is light for a lawnmower, which folds down roughly into a square shape, for minimal storage space.
Mainly of a plastic construction, allowing for the less weight, is robust enough for periodic use.
The 10 metre long electric flex, coloured orange for safety and rubber plug, is sufficient for the smaller garden or medium sized one, perhaps requiring an extension lead.
Always use an RCD circuit breaker, widely available.
There is a red lever for easy grass height selection (2cm-7cm.)
The lawnmower requires initial assembly per the instruction booklet (could be improved), yet is fairly straight forward.
The is no explanation/depiction, how to fold the lawnmower with the grass box after use.
After a little trial and error, I found out how to, which is easy/simple to remember (split the grass box into two.)
The plastic grass box two halves are clipped together, one on top of the other, but do this gently, paying heed to alignment.
It hooks onto the mower’s rear end by lifting the spring loaded hinged flap.
Because of the flexibility in the handle assembly design and necessary economical construction used, means that there is quite a bit of twisting, lifting and lowering of the metal handle pieces and moving around of folded flex to it’s resting position.
    Ditto for reassembly.
    It gets easier with practice.
The replaceable cutting blade, has a simple nut assembly beneath and cuts grass right up to the edges, due to the recessed wheel design.
I chose this model because of the four on/off switches built into the handle.
Those on the left work in unison depending upon which one is selected; the same for the right hand side, i.e. they work as pairs.
They are all kept powered on when the handle’s central red button is depressed.
Select any switch thereafter to switch off.
The handle may be held by the hands either horizontally or vertically; ideal for the smaller person, elderly or those with dexterity issues.
The rear roller beneath the lawnmower, whilst effective on longer straight lawns, loses it’s benefit on the smaller lawn that requires more twisting and turning when being mowed.
Consequently the roller reduces manoueuvrability (UK spelling) slightly on a smaller lawn.
This is a very efficient mower giving excellent finished results, including gathering moss to allow the lawn to recover it’s best appearance; ask my neighbour.

5.0 out of 5 stars LIGHT WEIGHT, LIGHT WORK

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWas looking for a reasonably priced electric mower and this Bosch slightly bigger and at least 40 cheaper than mymeigh our paid 4 yrs ago. Only downside was the lack of instructions. The book supplied was poorly illustrated – I still cannot find what is the space saving feature. No comparison with the result from my previous petrol mower with roller but easy enough to use and is satisfactory for one medium sized lawn an light enough to move. Also purchased separate 3 Yr warranty at reasonable price through Amazon.

I bought this mower to replace my trusty Rotak 40 which, after 6 years oif sterling service, had burned out the motor after hitting a hidden piece of metal. It was well priced at Amazon and delivered the day after I ordered it via Prime.
Unfortunately, the assembly instructions were for another, previous model but, having assembled my Rotak 40 before, I managed to assemble this model on my own without any problems. The collector box is a bit flimsy and I suspect, will be problematic unless I treat it gently. The attachment points where the basket attaches to the mower are particularly weak. Furthermore, this model does not collect clippings as well as my previous mower but I can live with that.
Overall, I am slightly disappointed with this mower compared to the Rotak 40 but it’s still way better than my previous Flymo hovers.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI really like this mower and am very happy with the purchase. It folds away neatly which is handy for the garage. It gave a very good cut and left nice stripes in the grass. The collector bin as other have mentioned is very thin and a bit flimsy, so I’m worried the plastic clips might break sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good mower, nice stripes, collector bin a bit flimsy

Delivery issue – on the day the time kept being pushed back and as it was nearing 10pm cut off I checked status again and was perplexed to see ” Delivered/Handed to Customer ” wtf?? both areas of help are automated and no help whatsoever and told to wait until Tuesday (from a Fri..like it’s EVER gonna appear after being obviously sold on)
Went through same channels to report it missing on Tuesday and got it delivered by a sheepish looking guy late in the day Thursday
Actual product feels super lightweight and flimsy with the one back wheel continually popping itself off when tightness tested already but didn’t hinder performance which was superb pity there’s construction elements to it as this was for my mom and her previous flymo was usable straight out the box but too large for her to use.

I’m delighted I bought this. Before I had an electric lawnmower which had no wheels. It’s rolled over the grass and it was a disaster tbh. Took forever to cut my grass. But this is brilliant. Everything you want from electric lawnmower. So fast to cut, very long lead, easy to set up and use, great height when fully extend (which is a big plus for me).

I went for it because it had the most reviews. Always go by reviews btw lol. I’ll update my review in a few weeks/months to let you know how it’s holding up.

10/10. So far, so good !

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s not easy to assemble I suggest using a clamp or molegrips to line up the holes where the handle attaches to the body. I didn’t and stripped a thread though misalignment, the steel screw mates into an alloy nut in a plastic housing. I’ve contacted Bosch spares seem sparse for this machine on their website.

I live in a new builds housing estate so my garden is not massive. This lawnmower does the job just fine. Doesn’t make much noise, easy to assemble. One thing I like is the power cord is pretty long so if you have a small garden you don’t even need an extension cord.

This gives a lovely cut but can bog down a bit in longer grass (my own fault) can be a little hard to push in damp grass and would be nice to have more gathering capacity but I’m to cheap to get the bigger model.

    This is a fantastic mower
    Cuts beautifully all the time
Does not ‘skin head’ the grass, moreover, cuts to look like a Wimbledon tennis court
Love the stripes it creates in the grass also
beautifully made, but then it is German.
Once registered you get (at the time of writing) a three year guarantee
    Absolutely love i

The mower gives a decent cut but there are some issues, the grass box seems to be a bit flimsy and the air vents allow to much grass to pass through, the other issue is where the handle attaches to the mower with quick release handles that leaves too much movement, apart from that it’s not a bad mower for the price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis Bosch Rotak has a compact design and is lightweight and user-friendly. With a powerful motor, adjustable cutting heights, and a generous grass box, this lawnmower offers both convenience and performance.
It has good power which easily cuts wet grass as long as its not really long. Of course you have the cord to deal with and have a limited range compared to cordless alternatives.
Overall, the Bosch Rotak 34R Electric Lawnmower stands as a reliable and effective solution for achieving a well-groomed lawn.
    I would recommend it!

The lawnmower I purchased for my small garden has proven to be a fantastic investment. Its compact size and efficient design make it an ideal choice for maintaining a smaller outdoor space.

This lawnmower is lightweight and easy to maneuver, allowing me to navigate tight corners and tricky spots effortlessly. Its cutting power is impressive, providing a clean and even trim every time. I appreciate the adjustable cutting height, which lets me customize the lawn’s appearance to my liking.

One standout feature is its low noise level. I can mow my lawn without disturbing neighbors or causing too much noise pollution. The ease of starting the mower and its minimal maintenance requirements are added bonuses.

Storage is a breeze due to its compact design. It doesn’t take up much space in my shed, making it convenient to stow away when not in use.

Overall, this lawnmower is a perfect fit for small gardens. Its efficiency, ease of use, and compact size have made lawn maintenance a breeze. If you have a limited outdoor space, I highly recommend considering this lawnmower for a hassle-free and enjoyable gardening experience.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI suppose if I was picky, 10m cord is a bit shorter than needed and the grass box isn’t heavy duty but does the job.

The mower itself is easy to assemble right out of the box and despite it’s size is lightweight to carry. The height adjustment is easy to operate and the handles provide options based on how you prefer to push the thing.

Fairly quiet, much quieter than my flymo and the edge brushes get you right close to your borders.

Smooth cut,, nice stripes and picks up the cuttings impressively with very little left behind.

My grass has reacted well to it’s first cut and has grown back straight and strong after years of hover mower abuse :).

Storage is great with a double folding handle and self stacking grass box. Very happy and a good price with next day delivery.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe assembly instructions are poor so I utilized a YouTube video. Nothing whatsoever included about how to fold down and store. The mower itself is light and works well. Grass collection box comes across as flimsy but appears to do the job, good length lead.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersTo assemble the mower I suggest you go on U tube as the assembly instructions with the mower are poor. No wording or warnings only diagrams. It took me three times the time it should have taken to assemble. Getting up and down with arthritis |I could have done without the problems.

First of all you have to work out how to get the back wheels out of the the together grass box. Then attach the wheels shown on the diagram to the mower. Unless you are superman this is impossible. You have to put the mower on its side using two hands on the wheel and press down with full body weight to achieve this!
I was afraid to use so much force in case I damaged the mower! But the was no alternative!
If you are not careful attaching the handle as I did, screwing the handle in the upright position and not in the downward position then trying to fold down the handle snaps it off.
If you fully tighten the first screw on the remaining handle then the other screw 2 will not catch. I found not fully tightening screw 1 enabled it to catch.
As for the Mower I got it in the sale and is good value for money. On a medium size garden it cuts long grass with not too much effort with five grass box emptying’s. The grass box handle did come off when I twisted the box once. The box is easy to remove and empty.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy last 3 Lawnmowers have all been Bosch. I have bought Bosch because they have lasted longer than other makes I have bought in the past. However this model, which is only an updated version of my previous model, seems so much more flimsy than the previous models. The grass box took me ages to put together and in fact I had to put some tape at the ends to help secure it. So not so impressed as I have been in the past and it will be interesting to see how long this one will last.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI had a Flymo electric mower before and this is just about better in every way. Firstly, the mower feels well made. Secondly, the mower does not require multiple passes over the same area to ensure an even and complete mow. Thirdly, despite the moderate output – it seems quite powerful. Then, the Grass collector is large and can accommodate a fair amount before needing to be emptied. Lastly, it cuts consequentially better around the edges. The only thing that isn’t as good is the length of the Power cord. At 10 metres it is JUST too short to reach the edge of my current lawn without the need for an extension cord. However, this is a small issue considering all the pros. Really good value for money

Although a Bosch product, it is not built with the same quality as other Bosch products. You get what you pay for, and the low price makes up for it.

Be careful to not over tighten the red pressure clamping bolts that attach the handle setup to the body of the mower, others have over tightened and snapped them. As long as you down do that, you will be fine.

Cuts grass well, no problem, but definitely not good for larger gardens.

Ok so putting together straightforward but was s bit fiddly. Mows well but awkward to manoeuvre, I usually go for Flymos which hover and you can throw around more and cut lower. This is ok but grass annoyingly collects on wheels if grass slightly damp. Overall it cost me 129 so can’t complain it does work well but personally I think I prefer hover lawnmowers – also 21st century so next time seriously considering a wireless mowe
