    Nice lightweight piece of ki
It is lightweight but sturdy and sliced through the hedge in no time at all. A real pleasure to use. A very tried and tested brand name that I go for first as they have always been reliable.

I bought two of these, one for parents and one for myself. It’s brilliant, easy to use and cuts through branches really easily

I’m instructed to write what I liked/didn’t like about the hedgecutters and what I used them for. Weirdly, I used them to cut hedges.
I liked that they worked and did the job required. What I didn’t like was the blade guard was awkward to put on when I finished.

I bought this a few months ago but have only just used it. It trimmed brilliantly in no time at all, was easy to hold and has a safety feature to prevent accidents. Would highly recommend this Bosch hedge trimmer.

    26mm cutting gap
This trimmer is suitable for medium size hedges and copes well with branches.
It is quite heavy and one does need to be careful that cord is looked after when operating off step ladders.
But in overall terms its a good buy.

    Great buy.
Good power, lightweight and easy to use. Although it do like the double safety feature it does restrict being able to lean right across my 8′ high and about 2.5′ wide hedge.. just meant sneaking into the neighbour’s side to finish the top.. I recommend highly!

    Powerful & easy to use
I dislike, the cord must have a holder on it attach. I accidentally cut my cable on my first used. I didn’t realised that the cable was covered by bushes & whem I trimmed it, it was cut off. But I fixed the cable myself & it’s fine. So, what I did was I got the cable zip tied in a circle 5″ diameter to make the cable heavier & not to entangled anywhere again.

Good enough for small bushes and hedges. Not built for tree branches, but for keeping the garden trim, it does the job well

Much more powerful than a battery versio
My battery powered trimmer just couldn’t cope with my hedge. It would constantly get jammed and then the battery would die. It didn’t have enough power. Plugged this in and within a couple of minutes the job was done and the blades didn’t get jammed.

    Performance meets Expectations
After two uses of the hedge cutter I am satisfied with the performance and safety of this product. It is sturdy and cuts tougher branches. It is not too difficult to use with the effective safety features. Noise level is acceptable/low. Weight is tolerable and not confining for ground level use.

    Pretty dece
This is the first one of these I’ve bought or used, so can’t compare.

But it has done the job of trimming back the over grown bushes and brambles.

The double safety triggers are a bit annoying when trying to reach into a bush to get the back, but I’m sure it could be clamped or taped temporarily if needed?

Be careful of the lead though, it does seem to want to get in the way, and it is not very long so an extension cord will likely be essential.

    Good Buy
Though I previously had a battery cutter it was always annoying to find I hadn’t charged it up enough when I wanted to use it. I was a bit wary of using a corded one but it has turned out to be very reliable, lightweight and safe if you following the instructions.

Does what it needs to.. only comment is that the lead could do with being a bit longer. Not ideal having to use an extension lead. Otherwise all good.

Only used once so far but very impressed with its cutting efficiency. Selected Bosch as a brand I have confidence in although at this stage I would anticipate it being durable and reliable as have been the several Bosch items purchased over time. It is firmly constructed and quite heavy if using above head height. So far ver pleased and would recommend without hesitation.

I am very pleased with this product.
    – Good grip & control
    – Easily powerful enough
    – Cuts cleanly & evenly along blade

Note: I have tried cheaper alternatives, and they simply do not compare to the clean cut provided by the power and blade-quality of this product. No more ‘chewed’ branches in your hedge..!

So much better than my old Flymo trimmer.
This Bosh trimmer made light work of my hedge and cut through the thicker branches with a bit more effort, but it got through it all the same without stopping.

I think this is the best hedge trimmer money can buy. I went with the reviews and wasn’t dissapointed. Don’t expect to cut trees as this is a hedge trimmer, not tree cutter (some people with low IQ have complained here that the blade snapped or their lead snapped – obviously cutting the lead themselves).

I choose this on the basis of weight but was a bit concerned that it had a relatively short blade. Actually in use – because of its lightness the reach is better than a heavier one with longer blades. Coupled with Bosch reputation I would definitely recommend.

Does the job but heavier than my old one and not quite as good at thicker branches
I bought this to replace a 15 year old Black and Decker which had finally given up the ghost. It is a nice enough cutter, but the blade size is the same as the old one however the cutter weighs enough extra to really notice it for long reach work.

Cutting performance is ok, but it baulks at some of the thicker parts of my hedge whilst the old cutter just went straight through it. As with all electric trimmers visually check the cable hasn’t got into the teeth before applying power …

Got this hedge trimmer as it had good reviews for its price range. I’ve used it a few times and not been dissapointed. Lightweight and easy to use but seems fairly sturdy. The cord is shorter than my previous Flymo but I had to use an extension with that one also so not not a great problem. Overall a good buy and so far after a couple of months use no problems so recommended.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersRobust but has one little design faul
At the time of writing mine is now nearly ten years old and still going. However, it has one little design fault (or maybe two):- Where the blade shaft enters the main body there is a hole and material such as wood chips can enter the gear box. For the first time today, a chip large enough to jam the gears got in and the machine came to a halt. Now we come to the second design fault (IMO) two of the housing screws are of a rather unusual type which fortunately I happen to posess but most folk would not and so could not dissemble the body to look for problems. However I did, discovered the chip jammed in the gears and removed it so that my hedg trimmer became a happy bunny again.

    This just works brilliantly
Everything is right about this. My pole hedge trimmer was so heavy that it’s not getting much use. This works even in a big garden because I can do do a bit of work every few days and it copes perfectly. It’s a perfect length to manoeuvre in tight spots, it’s light but sturdy, and cuts very well. Super purchase.

Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersBrilliant Bosch bush trimmer Bosh💥
Well the wife asked me to trim the bush in the garden, she usually lets it get out of control and I’ve always had to use a jungle knife to make it neat but it can make your wrist ache. This year as we are in lockdown and her bush was getting out of control blocking out the light I decided that I needed a bush trimmer and what better make than Bosch. This Bosch bush trimmer is amazing it’s light, versatile and sharp and certainly trimmed the bush perfectly. Now when you open the back doors you can see a lovely trimmed bush. I recommend the Bosch Bush trimmer and now I’m looking forward to keeping the bush nice and trimmed like the ones in Hollywood.

    Well balanced tool.
This is a lovely trimmer, with all the features that I would wish for. I have tested it with our privet and box hedges and it breezes through them. I found the trimmer a joy to handle and control. Bosch make a big deal about the noise level, but there is no guarantee of the noise that you will make when you are cutting. It does seem to be quieter, but I prefer to wear ear protection anyway.

The trimmer has a 10m power cord, which is fairly standard for this type of trimmer. Combined with a modest extension lead it will suffice for most domestic gardens.

The obvious negative is the relatively high price. I do prefer this trimmer to those that I have used in the past, so if you can afford it then I do recommend it.

Well made, intuitive to use, double triggers for safety. I am very happy with the Bosch AHS 45-16 Electric Hedge Cutter, 450 mm Blade Length, 16 mm Tooth Opening. This does what it says on the tin. BUT a corded trimmer always has problems with cable management. If I were cutting hedges all the time instead of once a year I would always favour cordless. As it is, I plan the cable routes very carefully.

I was given an old hedge trimmer and used it until it could not stand the usage at which point I hunted for another, just the same. It is not as heavy as some hedge trimmers that I have borrowed in the past and it does the job as needed; I will probably try and get another of these when this one dies on me, hopefully not for a few years though.

    Worth staying with.
This is my second Bosch AHS 45-16 I loved the first one and used it for seven years on my two hedges. I caught the wire on something and cut it quite badly and knew it was to bad to try repairing and after seven years of excellent use I certainly couldn’t complain. When I looked for a new one I was tempted by another make that was cheaper, big mistake, and I returned to the one I know and have always been happy with. I am as impressed with this one as ever and I am really fussy about my hedge. This one, like the previous one, does an excellent job and is lightweight and easy to use and my hedges are back to looking very good indeed.

    Cuts hedges!
At a reasonable price, this machine does it’s job with the minimum of pain. Blade is long enough to work quickly, but not so long as to be unwieldy. Not too much vibration, and not too heavy. As it is a Bosch I would expect it to last well, but early days for that. You have to use two hands to work it, so safe against cutting stray fingers off, and the cable colour contrasts well with the hedge. It was delivered just in it’s flimsy original box, with a label stuck on, but nothing was lost or damaged. Sadly it doesn’t stop my hedge from growing, though, so nearly time for a second outing!

Seems to be a good trimmer but not happy with the condition I received it in. If this had been a gift for someone I would not have been able to give it with the condition of the box. Also very disappointed with the flimsy cover for the blades that comes with it. As you can see from the pictures it is very inadequate and would have expected better from a brand like BORSCH. It has a slit along the entire length that both ends are open. I actually took the cover from my old flymo hedge trimmer which has a solid cover which screws the cover into place. Luckily it’s fits and screws in place on this trimmer too.

Never used a hedge trimmer before. Plug in, switch on, slice away, ten minutes later lovely tidy hedge. Does an excellent job. The longer blade may have helped on the top, but the shorter one (this one) is probably easier to manoeuvre on the sides. Really pleased with it – vaguely considering turning pro if hedge clipping is this easy!

Good tool, only use for light shrub work and light hedges, but would not try to cut thick branches with it. Did an excellent job and easy and light to use. As recommended by other reviewers, I also spray the blades with oil to make sure that they keep well. I would recommend putting ear protectors on, although not loud, it would still damage hearing if used for a period of time. Happy with them and do all I need to do.

This is a great little hedge cutter – I use it to remove the neighbours annoying greenery which grows at a regular pace over our fence. Been using some shears as I was worried I wouldn’t be able to cut through the branches of the greenery but this thing did it like a hot knife through butter. Its a large item so you need to be confident in manouevering it – but its fairly light so suitable for all

Golden Review Award: 118 From Our UsersSpeeds up gardening
I bought the Bosch AHS 45-16 Electric Hedge Cutter to speed up the gardening especially when it comes to trimming some of the larger bushes in our garden.

The AHS 45-16 is good, when used within its limitations. It is not a chainsaw, it is a trimmer, so if you try to use it to cut thick branches, guess what, it’s going to get stuck and come up short. To trim larger bushes it is great, it’s quick and relatively easy to handle, the safety switch configuration works well.

My only complaint of this type of item is that there is always a chance of nicking the power cable and manufacturers really need to give some thought to safe cable routing and around the operator. I tend to sling the cable over my shoulder, but there must be a better way of doing this and I feel that the manufacturers of such items should give this some thought and this isn’t a unique problem to the AHS 45-16, but something you become acutely aware of when using the item.

Bought these to cut the neighbours ivy as it was creeping over the top of the boundary wall.
    Secateurs = hours + blisters
This baby = 10 minutes of mwahahaha mayhem.

    It’s a power tool
It saved my hands getting blistered using secateurs
    It’s a power tool

    What else needs said?

I needed a new hedge trimmer to cut back invasive climbers that had grown over a high fence. It’s light enough to reach and cut through all of it quickly. I’ve had a trimmer before which needs 2 hands on the handle and the trigger so I find it gives more control. I also will be getting it back out next spring, before the birds take up residence, to cut back my pyracantha. It needs something tough and this will do the job. I chose a cabled trimmer as I find the battery ones lose power quickly and I’m really slow. Just keep control of the cable!

Not too heavy, it appears to do a good job at a fair price. I heeded the warning to keep the blades well lubricated and sprayed them carefully before and after use. they worked very well. They are lighter and quieter than the petrol cutter that failed after many years of use.

Bosch AHS-16; I have used this item only the once and so far all is fine; It is a lot lighter than any hedge trimmer I have previously used, It does not feel powerful but cuts away slowly and gets the job done; I find it quieter than my older trimmers probably due to new generation of motor prohibition rules which is in all our best interest to protect the planet.
I feel for the low price if I get a couple of seasons use then it will have paid for itself.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersA beginner review: cord is too short, tad heavy, some vibrations. Does its job.
I’m a beginner at this kind of gardening, but in our new garden I needed to do some heavy remodeling after the previous tenant let it go wild.

As soon as the hedge cutter arrived with his compact sturdy box, I’ve plugged it in and I faced the first problem.
The cord is too short (around 10m I’d say).

I was nicely surprised about the plastic cover that keeps the blade safe when the trimmer is not in use.

After retrieving a cable reel I was good to go. Some plants are cut like butter, but if they hide some thicker branches, you’ll feel it!
I’d say the 16mm thick ones are really the limit.
Lots of vibrations coming from the motor and once you’ll turn it off, you really will have a strange feeling in your hands.
Even if it’s a 420w motor, it’s still quite quiet (on the box it says 92dB), and with a 2.5kg weight it’s alright for shorts jobs.

You need 2 hands to start cutting; one holding the pad under the handle, and the other pushing the pad at the base of the blade.
    I’d say it’s well balanced.

Do wear gloves when using it and some glasses for protection!

What a bargain…top product by a top brand. I ordered this and it came a day early, very sturdy and powerful, and I had no idea that it could make such short work of virtually anything it touches. It comes with a sheath protective cover for when not in use and also has a safety grip that must be compressed before you can start the trimmer with its trigger. Surprisingly quiet for such a powerful beast and has made the garden so much easier to manage…I highly recommend this as it has so many uses apart from cutting the hedges…I use it on grass I cant get my mower around, thick weeds, and my bloody neighbours overhanging tree.

This is my first purchase of an electric hedge cutter and I love it. It is so easy to use and makes cutting my hedges a doddle. It is lightweight so doesn’t kill your arms and has cut through all my branches swiftly and easily

Brambles are scared stiff of this. After a few cuts I could see it shrink back in fear. Hahaha I smirked! Take that and that! Gone was its confident spikey attitude. Nowhere to go but down! It new it was done – cut and dry! Those darned brambles had sat there for years with me cowering. Well near enough. It would not tackle the very thick woody branches but all else gave in quite easily.

For the money this is great value.

This 500 watt trimmer is the best that I have ever used, and I have used many, trust me! Well balanced and fairly lightweight, it has a really good diamond cut blade that makes mincemeat of hedges. Not the quietist on the planet but powerful. The machine is well balanced and easy to operate and the 500 watt motor will not slow down. A great tool but wear earplugs – it is not much quieter than my JCB petrol trimmer that I am replacing it with!

I got this to replace my old 45cm Black and Decker which died on me. I’d say this one is as good, if not better, for trimming. I also have a Bosch Pro with a 70 cm blade and wider teeth for the tougher cutting back. In comparison with that the smaller machine does seem less well balanced – the larger one has a better front grip which you can hold on the top, left side or right side, which allows you to ‘lift upwards’ easily when cutting up the front of a hedge. I found the 45 rather less easy to manoeuvre as you can only grab the front handle from the top. On the other hand it is much, much lighter. I would recommend this for light to medium work. I found the cable rather short.

    Bosch fantastic
I have had this hedge cutter around nine months and the only bad thing I can say about it, is the power cord is too short . I have a tiny garden and I have to use a extension power lead which is very annoying, I did not have to do this with my Flymo hedge cutter. However, it is a very good product and I hope it last longer than my flymo, which lasted 8 long years until I dropped it and it stopped working! Very happy with this purchase even though it is cheaper than the price I paid last year.

It's perfectly fine for a large/medium sized urban garde
I had a very similar model to this which lasted over 10 years of infrequent use and finally gave up the ghost probably due to a bit of mistreatment by me. So I bought this off amazon. It’s perfectly fine for a large/medium sized urban garden. We have lots of quite mature shrubs/bushes as well, of course, as a hedge. Cuts them fine. The only thing I did, as soon as it came, was to attach the old power cord onto the new one to make it longer…as my garden is long. you can obviously use an extension lead. So it cuts hedges and it’s made by bosch…Bosch hedgecutter; does the job

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWish I'd bought this item sooner.
I chose this hedgecutter for 2 reasons. Firstly, I have a fondness for Bosch products as I feel they are good quality and, in my experience, long-lasting. Secondly, having read the reviews, it seemed perfect for my requirements. It’s everything I expected. I was confident that I would be able to use it easily, but asked a friend to try it for me in the first instance, as I felt a little tutorial wouldn’t hurt. After trimming a few shrubs, my friend said the hedgecutter was a delight to use, and not at all heavy. I too, from a female perspective, am happy that it’s not a heavy machine. I also bought the Bosch lubricant on the recommendation of others, and once the trimming was done, I cleaned the cutter and gave it a quick spray of lubricant before putting it away. Delighted !

Used this today for the first time and it worked wonders on a large Leylandii that was growing sideways (having been topped) and assaulting me everytime i went into the garden. It’s now nice and neat 🙂 Be warned though that these are powerful enough to cut through a metal chain link fence, as i found out accidentally, so be careful with it. Tomorrow it will be used to attack the mass of brambles i’ve spotted attempting to invade my garden. I would recommend this to anyone who knows what they’re doing with a hedgetrimmer 🙂

    A cut above the res
OK so “A cut above the rest” is a bit of a corny title. It has to be said its true. This Bosch Hedge cutter is just great and I find it hard to criticize its design or capability to do the job it was intended for. I have never owned a electric cutter before, thought I could make a much nicer job of trimming the few bushes I have in my garden. Its fairly light to handle, cuts with ease and used with care very safe. I nearly purchased a much inferior make and even looked at 2nd hand, but with Amazons amazing deals buying new was only a few pounds more. I Would recommend this cutter as I would be surprised if you could get any better results by paying more. A few reviews comment the cable is to short but I found this not to be a problem when using a extension reel. Don’t wait 18 years like me to buy one, buy with Bosch confidence today.
