Sturdy and attractive
I needed a smaller bin than my old Brabantia 60 litre bin. This 30 litre is just right but It does take a sharp tap to raise the lid. Not as smooth as my old Brabantia 60 litre bin lid but I do like it and it looks very good and neat in my kitchen. I still have my old Brabantia bin elsewhere which is over 20 years old and is still in good condition.

I needed a smaller bin than my old Brabantia 60 litre bin. This 30 litre is just right but It does take a sharp tap to raise the lid. Quality
Not the cheapest bin around but it pays to pay that bit extra for some quality. I find it ideal and very clean when used with the provided bags which save all the messiness of dealing with ill-shaped an sized bags which inevitably split or fall down etc. Impressed.

My favourite bins
I’m no bin officiando but these are my favourites. Practical, sturdy, easy to clean and to remove the full bag, last for ages when we’ll cared for and you can always replace the lids if needed without changing the whole bin. This is a lovely colour too.

We’ve had an excellent 60L Brabantia soft-touch bin since 2008, but after a kitchen-redo in 2018 its new location made it a bit of a nuisance as it’s so big.
Well, the spring on the lid snapped a few weeks’ back and rather than try and source a replacement we decided 12 years was a good run and it felt like a good opportunity to downsize it the 40L (it might be misdescribed on Amazon as being 30L for some reason, so note this review is for the flat-backed 40L, not the all-round 30L), which is a little wider, but is shallower and has a flat back to go against a wall. On those grounds, it absolutely does the job, and indeed has a real benefit over the 60L (and the 30L) is being wider, sliding waste off cutting boards is so much easier, nothing goes on the floor 😉 . And despite our slight fear about the downsizing in volume, 40L it turns out is still more than enough for a week, maybe sometimes even a little more, of kitchen waste for a couple of people.
There are a couple of downsides. We don’t think the soft-touch lid mechanism is anywhere near as good as the quality on our old 60L’s lid, which was excellent (well, up until the point it suddenly wasn’t, but that was after 12 years!). This rattles a little, and isn’t as “soft”. And we know it’s not a one-off as we’ve actually had two, and the lid behaviour was identical on both. The first bin we were sent was unstable and rocked around while opening it. On investigating it (pictured) it turned out that the plastic base insert hadn’t been attached properly and there was no way to reattach it, it was totally out of shape.
We ordered a replacement and in that one it was fitted correctly, so we’re pretty happy with it now: it’s the right size for the position it’s in, it’s rock solid stable on the floor like the old one. It just seems there are some QA and cost-cutting issues at the factory, as shown by the broken base and cheaper-feeling lid. These are very expensive bins; one can accept the base was just a factory error, the lid feels a little more intentional. The broken bin was sent back and has been refunded with no issues. So we do recommend them, but check thoroughly and get it replaced if you find it’s got anything that feels wrong.

Easy to use and clean and the flip top lid is just what we wanted.
The bin is in our kitchen and is used for general non recyclable waste. We find it excellent. No criticisms. The flip top lid is just the job.

A fantastic product. It’s a little bit pricey, for a bin, but it’s Brabantia quality and I purchased it at almost half price, so I’m very happy. Arrived extremely well packed so it was perfect. Recommended, if it’s a good quality, 30l bun you’re looking for.

I spent ages delivering on which bin to buy. I followed the reviews and got this one as a sturdy but more expensive option. So glad I did! I love having the inner bucket to make it easy to take out and clean. Can’t go wrong with a 10 year guarantee! Would definitely buy again.
Good looking sturdy bi
I really love this bin. My son who is 3 can easily use it as well. We previously had a sensor bin which was useless as our bin is next to the kitchen door (the only space we have for it). The bin is lovely and sturdy and it’s reassuring to have the 10 year guarantee too. I didn’t imagine I’d ever spend this much on a bin but so far so good and feels like a good investment. As it’s 30l we have to empty it more often but feel that is better as it doesn’t get smelly like bigger bins. The slim profile means that it doesn’t get in the way either and ford the small space we have.

The bin has a 10 year warranty. However I still have one of these bins which has lasted 20 years so far and still going strong. I expect this one will be the same. However the down side is they are expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for. If you shop around the occasional bargain can be found if things like the colour are less important to you.

After lots of recommendations to buy a bin that would last and not have a problem with throwing away a broken lid, I finally got this one.
Delivery was 1 day earlier than expected and much cheaper here than on the retailers website
So easy to remove the bag and clea
Strong, high quality, plenty of storage, takes up little space.
Bags are very easy to remove due to the design of the inner bin that prevents the usual vacuum you get when trying to lift the bag out of other bins.
It took us ages to find the right bin for a narrow space in our kitchen. This one is perfect.

Well, its a bin. One I got is used in a kitchen and is a little annoying to keep clean, though understandable. Price could be cheaper. Be nice design if they added a place to put an air freshener inside it and had improved small feet to move it on, rest of design is superb

Love the press open /shut lid and especially love that the lid comes off meaning you can easily lift out rubbish bag without wrestling with the bin/lid.
I used to hate having marks on my wall where the little bit sticking out of bin scraped against it. But no more with this one since you can align the lid however you like meaning the bit sticking out can be placed away from the wall.
Best, efficient, affordable, easy to use and good on the eye.

Can rely on brabantia
I have bought brabantia bins for all my family. They are sturdy and do the job perfectly. I’ve had my bin for almost 20 years and have only had to replace the lid catch twice. Brabantia send replacement parts no questions asked. Would recommend this item no bother.

A quality bin from Brabantia
Nothing to dislike, it replaced another Brabantia bin which I had for 10 years and was still in excellent condition, however, my new house called for a new bin! This has more capacity than my previous slimline bin which means changing the bag less often another plus point.

Only gave 4 as the price is a tad high. Apart from that it’s a good bin. Keeps cleaner alot more than our old one. Replacement bags can be brought online a tad expensive but you know, they are made to measure don’t split and fit. So all in all yes would recommend the bin.

1. The inner bin has holes in the bottom. Why? This makes it difficult to clean, especially because my wife likes to swish hot water and detergent around if the bin bag splits and spills its nasty stuff out. This is no longer possible due to these holes.
2. It is very hard to squeeze the top of the bin liner between the inner bin and the outer casing. This causes the bag to not be properly secured and it gets pushed down when squeezing many things into the bin and has at times resulted in a big spillage inside. I’ve seen designs where there is a hole that you can push excess liner into which tightens it around the edge too. See Joseph&Joseph food bin.

It’s a BIN hade them before and no doubt we’ll have them again, the only thing to dislike about this bin is the price, lots cheaper on the market, but you get a ten year guarantee so that’s hard to beat. Just look out for somebody offering a deal or sale then grab yourself a bargain.

Great bin - shocking delivery
First up the colour and finish on the bin look great (as far as bins go).
If it had made it to me in undamaged, I’d have been more than happy with it in my kitchen, hence the 5 stars.
Unfortunately, it arrived looking like the delivery guy had used it as a trampoline – it’s actually been completely flattened in the middle.
