A basic 14 stitch sewing machine with finger guard for younger sewers.
The Brother KE14s sewing machine has been made with younger sewers in mind. A specifically designed finger guard is included, which minimises the risk of little fingers getting in the way of the needle. It has 14 basic utility and decorative stitches, which are factory set, and so not complicated to understand. A foot control is included in the box, which means your younger sewer can concentrate on only moving the fabric with their hands. Accessories in the box include a Zig Zag sewing foot, 4-step buttonhole foot, Zipper foot, 4 bobbins and a needle set – everything they need to start sewing. Other useful functions include: an LED light for clear sewing; tension dial – for adjustments on different fabrics; 6 point feed dogs – for precise fabric feed on most fabrics; free arm – allowing easy construction of tubular items like sleeves and trouser legs.

An innovative finger guard can be attached to the needle bar, to ensure younger fingers don’t get under the sewing foot.
14 easily selected stitches
The 14 stitches can be easily selected by moving the jog dial around. There are simple set lengths of straight stitch, set widths of zig zag stitch, as a well as a 4 step buttonhole, blind hem stitch and elastic stitch. Everything a younger sewer could need!

Very pleased with it. It’s so easy to use. Would definitely recommend it.
Handy sewing machine, so easy to use for everyday use or basic sewing crafts. Struggles with stretchy materials and thicker materials.
The instructions/DVD that came with the sewing machine are easy to follow for a complete beginner such as myself. The needle and bobbin are easy to thread, which was my greatest worry. It is a really sturdy machine and easy to use. I highly recommend it.
Cadeau d’anniversaire pour ma fille de 8 ans. Elle en rvait! Je lui avais dit que la couture tait une activit qui demandait beaucoup de patience! MAIS L!!!!

Ma fille a donc fait preuve d’ENORMEMENT de patience!
Et en voulant la brancher aprs ces mois d’attente….. La prise lectrique est anglaise… Je ne regarde jamais ce genre de dtail malheureusement….
Sachez qu’il est possible de commander un adaptateur pour ce genre de prise, mais encore une fois, il faudra patienter….
Si la patience est la meilleure qualit d’une couturire, Jean-Paul Gautier n’a qu’ bien se tenir, ma fille arrive!!!! Enfin…. Dans quelques jours…..
Je regrette que cette machine coudre, n’ai pas la prise franaise. On c’est bien fait avoir.
My parents bought for our 7 year old who wanted to get started in knitting. It’s a great first model machine with all the features required to make new dresses for toys or repair existing wardrobe malfunctions. The device is a bit light so I recommend having a dedicated table. It came with some accessories but I would splurge on another newbie set to get going.
Having said all that, the foot activated start makes the machine too dangerous to leave kids alone with it. It’s definitely one that requires full time attendance by the parent or grandparent.
I bought this machine for my 5 year old Montessori educated daughter and it is a hit. I purchased the book sewing school 2 with it and she is able to complete simple projects with only limited assistance. Instructions to wind bobins and to thread the machine are indicated on the machine itself which is very helpful. I obviously supervise her while she is using it but both her and I have loved it. Even as an adult it’s a great machine for simple sewing projects or repairs.
Nice machine, easy to use especially for beginners, I still have to experiment lots of stuff.
Excellent sewing machine,great for beginners.Easy to setup and easy instructions would highly recommend..
My only reservation – and this applies to many similar machines – is the fact that the needle needs to be threaded from front to back, so it’s difficult to employ the needle threader tool. I’m sure my mother’s machine used a side-to-side threading system, with the bobbin at the end of the sewing bed rather than the front.
