The Brother M343D Overlocker sews seams, trims excess fabric and overlocks raw edges, all in one easy step. It features 3 or 4 thread sew-and-cut overlock stitches, an easy to-follow thread guide, and a F.A.S.T. lower looper threading system. It also features a free-arm/flat bed convertible sewing surface for easy control when overlocking cuffs and sleeves, saving time and producing professional results.

Easy to use

Wow!
Bought this for the wife as she had been on about one for ages. She was amazed how simple it was to set up. Watching the videos helped along with the instructions. Within half an hour she was fully up and running. Don’t ask me what she does with it but she needed one
Love this machine- wish I had bought one sooner. Easy to thread providing you study the dvd well and after a couple of times can now thread on my own! Would have been nice to have included the trim trap and I would have happily paid the extra- in conclusion, thoroughly recommend if buying as a beginne
Good value overlocker.
I took time to investigate overlockers, as they have got a bad reputation for being difficult to use. I looked at YouTube videos and read reviews. I was very pleased with the clear instructions on the machine itself and in the instruction booklet together with online. I am delighted with the results I have got with it on my dressmaking projects. I would recommend it, a good machine, slightly noisy, but effective.
Great machine
This is a great machine and fantastic value for money. I’d never used an overlocker before and was a bit intimated by them but this one is easy to use. It comes already threaded so you can just tie your new threads on and pull them through rather than having to thread it from scratch. I really love this machine. It makes sewing so much easier amd quicker. I wish I’d bought it months ago
Nothing broke
Ordered yesterday and it arrived today! I had read the reviews before buying and it arrived with nothing broken. Haven’t used it as yet as waiting for threads and trim tray bought separately to be delivered.

Perfect for price
This is my first overlocker and I’m not disappointed. Get the first threading out the way and its really easy to do. Mine came with thread but i have ordered more. I have a brother sewing machine and its the same cable and pedal so thats a plus.

Followed instructions, threaded it up, worked first time
Never used an overlocker before. Followed the instructions and the threads already in place as a guide. It wasn’t difficult but took some time. I tested it with scrap fabric and it sewed a perfect overlocked seam and neatly trimmed off the excess fabric. The machine is sturdy, and a good weight so it doesn’t jump. Very good value for money.

Should have bought one earlier! It came pre threaded, so it was easy to attach my thread and pull through. Clear instruction booklet, works like a dream!

Really good
It took me a while to put it all together but I followed the instructions slowly and got it working. It’s so good. It gives me nice edges and the finish is fantastic. I used it on my maxi dress I made. I would say I’m still a beginner as i started sewing last year but wish I bought one of these sooner. Fabulous

Easy to thread and use.
A great machine, easy to thread, easy to use. Very good value for money, have used already and I’m over the moon with it. Comes with thread nets and tops, hexagonal screw driver, brush, tweezers and two sets of spare needles. A soft cover too. The dvd shows you how to thread it step by step, and use it. It’s brilliant. It’s not too noisy either!

Love this over locker! I am a sewer and had never used an overlocker before. I watched a YouTube video to learn how to thread which I found much easier than following the instruction manual. This is totally suitable for beginners.

This is amazing, i love it !
I was gifted a very old ‘work horse’ overlocker. I was very excited to finally have annoverlocker . I got it serviced and i sat with tears running down my face trying to thread it. I hated it but many people said they are fab, they are work horses not like the new moden plastic rubbish, keep it ..but it hated me and i hated it. Then when it spat a needle at me and a part that i assumed was important bent it was the last straw and i ordered this beautiful thing..
Arrived the next day, worked straight out the box. Tons of you tube videos for visual learners, easy to thread,, purrs like a kitten, leaves a beautiful finish..have i mentioned i love this machine?

I’ve had this beauty a few months now, and I absolutely love it. I bought it based on review’s and ease to use and it didn’t disappoint. It comes with a demonstration DVD so I recommend watching that before you get started. Also it doesn’t come with cotton spools so buy those ready. Having an over locker makes clothes look more professional and quicker to make. It’s a great price and a great product, I haven’t had any problems with it. I don’t have anything to compare to as this is the first time using and owning an over locker, but for me it’s great, I love it and I would recommend it.
Very easy to set up and use
I’ve wanted an over locker for years and finally treated myself to one. This is so easy to thread and the dvd that comes with it makes using it very clear – much better than a booklet alone. My only criticism is that it’s a bit noisy but works beautifully nonetheless. I would definitely recommend it as a beginners machine
Easy to set up, tidy machine
I have never threaded one before but the instructions were so clear and the machine itself has the path really clearly labelled. I have been able to sort out rethread issues. I felt braver because I have an expert friend who I can have a lesson with after lockdown if I need to. I think this machine is real value for money – I am using it for art work primarily, but I have also used it to make old towels into reusable clothes for the children and to make an easy edge to my patchwork quilt project. It takes up very little space and packs away tidily. A good buy.

I have both a Huskylock and a Singer overlocker which have black and white threads in them but wanted a third for use with colored threads. I chose the Brother overlocker based on its price. It was reasonable and not too pricey compared to others. Feedback from other users seemed good. So far I am really pleased with it. Mine turned up safely in the post with no parts broken. Overlockers are tricky to thread and this one looks no easier, but I tie my new thread to the old thread and then try and pull it through. Doesn’t always work, so when a thread doesn’t pull through I have had to thread manually but have managed it so far. Has a nice smooth action and the overlooking looks good. It’s good for the money.
Fabulous item.
Bought this overlocker, having never had one before or even used one before. Started sewing in the last year or so, so I am a relative beginner and I absolutely love this machine. It is fiddly to thread, however all overlockers are difficult to thread, I understand. But following the video tutorial definitely helped. It is really well colour marked as to which thread goes where and easy to use. I really love this item and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a really good solid overlocker whether you’re a beginner or not.

I got the Brother Overlocker for Christmas and practiced threading and sewing scraps of fabric until I’d got the tension perfect.
I’m used to sewing a variety of different fabrics and was surprised at the ease and professional finish that the Overlocker gives. It’s so much quicker than using a sewing machine. I made a top in less than half the time as it sews and finishes in one movement.
I was fortunate enough to find this on sale at a cheaper price by clicking on “other sellers ” and got it for a bargain price of 149.00

Sorry l can not comment on the working of the machine as it is for a Christmas present. But delivery and everything else was spot on time and packed well.
compact machine
bought this overlocker to replace mine, which I damaged last week. Bought the same make as I was pleased with the last one. However this one seems to be less well made, the lever to pull out the lower looper for threading, seems very flimsy. It is different than on the old machine, and I think the idea was right, but I am not sure how long it will las
Have to say this machine appears to be a really good buy at a very good price. I have never used an overlocker before so it is taking time to get used to the difference between this and a normal sewing machine. All I would say is take your time to become familiar with the machine and practice, practice, practice and you will not be disappointed. The machine arrived in perfect condition and on time. Very happy and a good way to spend time on these cold, dark dark winter days whilst in lockdown.
Easy to use
First time with an overlocker for me and was scared to buy one in case was hard to master.. but this is an excellent piece of sewing equipment..so easy to use ..threading looks complicated but it’s really easy..follow the numbered diagram instruction…. do number 3 first then 4 then 1 and 2 and your on your way to more professional looking sewing!
Absolutely buzzing
Great wee machine. Easy to use can came pre threaded. All I had to do was tie my new thread to the pre-threaded thread and away I went.

Great machine. I have only been sewing for 5 months and was worried that I would find it difficult to use. However, I found it very easy there are some great videos on You Tube that show you how to thread the machine. It saves me so much time, I definitely recommend this product!
Very reliable
This is a great peice of kit. Bought it for my wife who is a seamstress and does not require to be doing endless amounts of overlocking but who needs the machine to be reliable and consistant. When she turns it on, she knows it will work and not suddenly stop or ruin the customers clothing.
As with all overlockers, there is always one thread that is a little tricky to thread, but this does not happen very often.

Great for beginners. Has all thing that more expensive ones have. Very easy to use. Extremely easy to thread. Comes prethreaded, just tie the threads and pulk through.
If you are sitting on the fence of whether to get an overlocker. I would go for it. Sees like a dream. Made cloths to practice. My first attempt to overlocking.

Brilliant, makes sewing garments so much quicker.
Amazing, easy to use overlocker. So much quicker to sew up clothes and the CSP i make with this instead of the sewing machine. You’ll still want a sewing machine for certain jobs but the majority can be done on this. Easy threading instructions too.
If you struggle with threading an overlocker, here is the one to buy
I have tried other overlocker S which have sat in the craft room as it takes a degree to get them threaded. Ever the truer I bought this on recommendation, wow it is so easy to thread and use.

Easy to use, the instruction DVD was very informative and I was able to use it straightaway. I have been using it to sew up scrubs for our doctors and nurses.
Good instructions
Before I used the machine I read and watched the cd. This was, in my opinion, easy to follow and of course can be paused and/ or rewound to study more. Follow the instructions and you are ok. Rethreading is easier than I anticipated. I am glad I bought this machine. I have put the machine to good use whilst I have been making scrubs for the NHS.

This is the first over locker i have brought. I Read the reviews, and so pleased i got this its small but does a great job. The DVD is very helpful I never knew you could do so many different things on this little machine, you have to buy the extra attachments to do it which I will probably get eventually. Its a shame it does not come with a trim trap so I had to buy one separably. But overall its a great little machine
Perfect first overlocke
I’ve wanted an overlocker for years and finally purchased one. Was worried about the complexity of rethreading but it’s super simple! Got used to it after the first try. Perfect for beginners and experienced users. Making scrubs for the NHS, and has made life a lot easier!
