The Burg Wachter Double Loop Security Cable is suitable for a multitude of security applications including – home, garden, leisure, commerce etc. It is manufactured from braided steel for increased strength and flexibility. The double loop design enables the user to maximise the length of the cable by clinching (pushing one loop through the other). The swages are extra-large for added strength. It also benefits from a weather resistant vinyl coating which protects against scratching.

I bought this to go with a padlock for my garden which are used to secure ladders which won’t fit in the shed. Seems really sturdy and safe and long enough to wrap around a post a few times. Really pleased with it. Good price and value.

I bought this Sterling 825C cable for an unconventional use which was the creation of my DIY gym pulley system to enable me to work out from home during the COVID-19 lock down.
While I haven’t tested it for security purposes, I can say that it can hold quite a lot of weight without showing any sign of wear and tear.
I was supposed to hook it up to a weight loading pin that I have not yet recieved, although I did hook it up to a heavy duty climbers carabiner and heavy duty chain to simulate the same movement and attached weights which enabled me to lift 60kg so far.
If you are looking for a cable that can be used in home gyms this works like a charm.
It is made entirely from reinforced braided steel, therefore it won’t be tearing any time soon. The outer vinyl coating which covers the cable also allows it to slide nicely across a pulley block nicely without scratching or catching on it.
This also means you won’t need to oil your pulley block because the vinyl shell is slippery enough.
Both ends are also double looped which makes it a great cable to use on home gym attachments such as handles. The yellow branding also act as stoppers so that the wire does not fall right through the pulley.
Therefore, if you’re in need of a weight bearing cable that isn’t used for the typical conventional use, this is it.
(The cable is about 8.2ft in size and cannot be cut to length).

Needed some of these to secure two ladders,bikes,kayak and a sack Barrow after downsizing home.
Small loops on the ends
I’m happy with the product, however the end loops are too small for a bike lock that I have and wanted to feed through them. So I fed the cable through itself and created a larger loop. ( if that makes sense) Just something to keep in mind if you look at this product .

It does happen and causes alot of damage usually wrecking the trailer and expensive repairs to the car. Loop it round the towball and use clip hooks on the loops to two equally spaced fixing points on the trailer, leaving sufficient play for turning. If the hitch snaps at least the trailer will stay squared up towing and although dropping which becomes rapidly obvious to the driver, it allows you to slow down quickly and safely.

Long cable offering light security
This is a very long security cable (2.5m long) it is also quite slim at 8mm so provides fairly light security. I would recommend it for general daytime use if you are not too concerned about theft, it would not be suitable in a high crime area as it could be cut quite easily.
Does it’s job, hard to pack
As a rider of a flashy road bike, I was looking for something to secure the wheels for my bike as I already have a sturdy D-lock to secure the frame. This item was ideal for my needs, does it’s job well. It does look a bit weak in size but makes up for it in it’s durable/hardened feel. The loops makes a nice feature for my D lock to thread through.
I wouldn’t trust it on it’s own though, so make sure you have a strong D lock in addition to this. And also it’s not self coiling, so if you’re a bike rider keep that in mind, because packing it away can be a nightmare if you have a small bag!

Purchased this steel cable to take away with me to Australia and have to say I am delighted with it.
The perfect length foe what I wanted but the low price was explained by the small gauge of the cable, however this is not a major issue for me, a slightly bigger issue is the quite small loops on the ends, having said that it is easier to transport because it’s lighter!
Generally good for securing the wheels while using a “proper” high security rated D-Lock to secure the frame.

Good quality and hopefully a good deterrent. At the end of the day, if someone has the tools with them to cut cables and steal your stuff they will, no matter what you use.

I don’t know how resistant these are to thieves but they feel substantial and the covering means you are unlikely to damaged what you are locking up. They do coil well but also stretch straight without too much resistance. I think the balance is about right especially at this budget.

Great detere
I bought this for threading through our camping chairs/table and stuff for when we leave the campsite.
The cable is covered in a strong smooth plastic coating so its really easy to wipe clean and thread through things.
It rolls up into a small loop so its easy to store when not required.
It would be relativly easy to cut through with the correct tools but I guess/hope most casual thieves would just move on rather then be delayed.

I could close both of the wheels of my and my boyfriend bikes to the main D-locker and so far no one try to steal the bikes. I don’t think it would survive to a thief attack but it definitively discourage makeshift thief. I recommend it especially if you have quick release wheels as I do.

God enough for my use
Came quickly, and works like I thought it would. Won’t stop a persistent thief with bolt cutters, but keeps whatever you’re locking safe from the casual thief, which is what I wanted mostly.

Using to padlock solar panel to caravan. Great product and can’t see any issues. If a thief wants what you have they’ll get it. Choose security carefully and invest in more robust products if you were to lock a motorbike for example. This is what I expected and better than I had.

Fit for purpose
Bought to secure the kids bike at the front of the house. Whilst as others have said it would not take a genius to break through this it is great in its flexibility and length. This means you could lock up a variety of things in one go with one padlock.
Would recommend but if you have something really expensive then you need to invest in an expensive lock and not this.

Has so far seen a multitude of uses and it acts as a reasonably visual deterrent to put off an opportunist thief. It’s long enough to protect both wheels without removing them and is flexible enough to coil up into a small bag to take out with me. The loops will pass through each other if you want to make a larger loop which has proved useful for securing our pushchair after a spate of thefts. It’s been subjected to plenty of wet winter weather which hasn’t caused any problems.

Cannot see this would deter the most determined thief but locking my golf trolley with this in a shed at the golf club were others have no protection will mean that mine is certainly not the first to go if a chancer happens by
