I live in the middle of the mountains, in a 10x20ft cabin. No bathroom(other than going outside like a bear), no kitchen, etc. So I rigged up a shower station outside with hose and a shower head from my well hydrant; which as you can expect. Being mountain-fed well water, its freezing, which was great during summer. However, now its winter.. and having hot water is almost a Must.
Stumbled across this and after first getting it I wasn’t a big fan, but that’s because of how you have to set it up to work; caused me to lose common sense so I had to backtrack.
Firstly, I forgot the D batteries. DO NOT FORGET THEM. Once setup up and ready to go. You turn your water up and propane wide open. The force of the water is apparently what triggers the striker to ignite the propane and BOOM! It was lukewarm with the propane on Max(both at the tank and on the heater) and I let it run, but was still barely warm. Even cold at some points. Then I remembered that the force of my well-hydrant can actually knock your hand back like high-fiving the wind while driving down the interstate. So there was way too much water pressure. I needed the it at first, but once the propane ignited. I was able to lower the water pressure from my hydrant and turned around to see STEAM!
Well worth the money and I almost feel like a “civilized” human being LOL
Now, just a matter of seeing how it lasts.
We used this on an island camping. Worked amazing….!!!!!! It’s now my backup for my camper.

Purchased the Camplux 5L 1.32 GPM Outdoor Portable Propane Tankless Water Heater to go with a Seaflo Water Pressure Pump (12V DC 1.2 GPM 35 PSI 21). Very pleased with the quality of the heater unit.
Contacted Camplux about a quick connector that had gone missing. They asked for confirmation of purchase and then promptly sent me a new shower head, hose and quick connector. Excellent customer service!

This little heater gives a lot of hot water. Using on a hot dog cart and works like a charm.
We have an off grid cabin, and we’re using this to heat the water we draw from an IBC water tote outside. We also have the Camplux 12V DC water pump feeding this. Great system! We used a combination of PEX and water supply hoses and it works great!
So happy with this product was easy to set up followed instruction was using in in no time.

Easy to hook up. (Use plumbers’ teflon tape. Also, I used a longer shower head hose than the one provided.) Instant hot water, good water pressure. I use a 5 pound propane tank. A lot of people don’t have a shower this nice in their homes.

The heater arrived quickly and was easy to install in about half an hour. It connects to a regular garden hose and the same type of propane tank I use for the BBQ. The shower head is fine – has an on/off switch and three spray patterns. The water temperature is nice and hot when the water flow is at the minimum setting. It has an auto shutoff for propane after 15 minutes or so which is good in case the kids ever leave it on by accident. We have used it daily for 3 weeks and I’m really enjoying it. Nice to use after swimming or just to be outside and keep hot humid air out of the house when weather is hot. The propane tank still feels quite heavy/full indicating we haven’t used much even with regular use. … My only slightly negative comment is I wish it could heat the water really hot at a higher flow – if I could do it again I would consider a larger unit.
I dont normally write reviews, but I am blown away by how efficient and easy it is to use the Camplux Water heater.
We use it for an outdoor shower, hooked up to a simple 55 gallon rain barrel. The water comes out nice and hot within 5 seconds. We set the thermostat to less than half of the heat it can produce, so even in freezing temperatures I imagine the water will continue coming out nice and hot.

I replaced my old hot water heater in my motorhome. The only problem I had was the bsp threads on the in out water connections. I ordered bsp x 1/2 npt connectors from Amazon and hooked it up. Seems to work ok but I can’t go camping because of the Corona virus lockdown now.
I haven’t had it for long but so far I love this thing. Very well made. I’m using it with a 35 PSI water pump, the pressure at the shower head is great and the water heats up in a matter of seconds. Very convenient and easy to get set up.

Water flow is good, easy to get wet down and rinse off. Will use it with the dog next time she needs a bath. She hates cold water as much as I do….
My only complaint is that water leaks from the quick disconnect for the shower hose. Not enough to return it but you will want to shut off the water to it when you are done.

Betreibe den Durchlauferhitzer mit einer 12V Tauchpumpe auerhalb (wie vorgeschrieben) des Wohnwagens. Habe Wasserschluche nach vorne zum Gasflaschenkasten gefhrt und hnge den Durchlauferhitzer einfach mittels 2 angebrachte Haken unter den geffneten Deckel. 1 Stern Abzug, weil der Gasregler standardmig nur fr 27mm Clipanschluss geliefert wird und die D-Batterien fr die Zndung nachgekauft werden mssen. Einen passenden Druckregler fr 11Kg Flaschen bekommt man hier zwar inkl. Versand fr knapp 10,00. Aber das msste nicht sei
Our first one developed a fault that the online team dealt with really well and in the end decided to send a complete replacement . Anything can break or be faulty and it’s the way it’s handled shows if a company cares about its customers. Both overseas and local teams have been excellent and we’ve already ordered another large one for the yard. Dogs happy too ….though it only needs the minimum setting for the heat for him, and you must place it out of the wind or you’ll be continually getting the reigniter clicking away. Good product.

I rigged up a nice hot shower with this unit, a Rubbermaid stock tank, and a 110v water pump. Saved a lot of trips to town and kept me a lot more presentable.
I used the shower head and hose setup that it came with – it’s cheap, but worked. Looks easy to upgrade if needed.
DON’T LET IT FREEZE! The heat exchanger is really thin by design. If it freezes with water in it, it’s a goner. It’s best to just unhook it and take it inside with you if you’ve been using it outside.
I have used this heater for 3 years! I mean use. We live full time in a camper. Use it to wash dishes, wife and I shower every day. Even wash my truck. Up greased to a bigger camplux this year and it’s super!!! Customer service was great when I melted battery box with heat lamp when temp got to 10 degrees. They sent me a new one no charge. ( I moves heat lamp). Thanks for a great product!
Bought this for washing my dogs. Attached it to a wheeled trolley for ease of use. Have found the water temperature drops now & again so have to keep an eye on that, goes from warm to cold without warning. Have found it helps to stop & start with the water flow often to maintain the water temperature. Not really a massive problem.
This has revolutionized our approach to outdoor dog washing! No more pet store visits! Will likely pay for itself in 5 uses since we have 2 dogs and used to spend $20 per visit to the pet store. The dogs love the low flow and warm water, no more struggling to get them under the spray, they stand there and ask for more! Note a short hose and lower hose pressure is needed, out 75ft hose was too long so switched to a 25ft hose.
My third one of these on demand propane water heaters. Meets all my household and cabin needs. (No tub). I love them. May have to turn volume even lower for hot water in the winter.
This is a great little unit. I purchased this for my summer outdoor shower and it works great. If your trying to gravity feed water through this unit you will need a pump to get the flow rate high enough for the unit to turn on.

Using this as a temporary shower whilst having renovations in the house. As this is meant for outdoor use we keep this in another room rather than the bathroom with a window open to avoid any issue with fumes. As a result I bought a garden hose to run water from the bathroom tap to this in another room and back to the shower head. I aslo bought a small ikea trolley for under a tenner that this can hang off and can a small canister can fit underneath.
The water flow and temperature is set on the shower and it provides a very consistent temperature water. It was very easy to set up and connect to the gas. I use patio gas/propane gas that is available at B&Q and Homebase. The smallest 5kg canister lasts around 4 weeks with 2 of us showering daily, so very economical.
Purchased another one of these and was happy to see it has “CSA APPROVED” in the product description. upon receiving product, i could find NO csa/ul certification markings on the water tank at all. The regulator that they include bears the csa logo, BUT NOT THE HOT WATER TANK.

Ok this product works well but you really need a stand or place to hang it. Easy to connect to propane tank and adjusting the flow and temp you can get this really hot. We used this to fill a kids pool which takes forever with the low water flow.
This would be great for outdoor showering or warming a baby pool but it’s a stretch to fill a larger kids inflatable pool.

I hook up the product to a spigot in less than 5min and was already having a blast washing my dog from a sticky accident at the campground. My dog loved it and I was happy to have warm-hot water for my little furry friend :).

I was completely surprised how well this worked. I used pump (Camplux 12V Water Pump 35PSI DC 1.2GPM 4.3LPM) and it works great. Uses minimal water yet gives you plenty of water pressure to shower.
I purchased this shower unit for a music festival outdoor shower experience. I needed something that was portable, easy to use and had a consistent warm water flow. This worked brilliantly. Really easy to use with simple controls. Worked well for our camping trip, having hot water was amazing!! We just couldn’t find the right hose attachments so some water was leaking out of it during use. Buit wasn’t a big deal since we were outdoors.
I would have gave this five stars but as soon as I used the shower head the hose broke I did read a lot of reviews saying hose was cheaply made but I still bought it.I hope camplux will send me a new and improved shower hose so I can use my shower other than that the shower did work grea
I love this product and I was so happy to get it hooked up with no problem at all! The shower head was really great and the hot water came flowing right out! After a month and a half with no hot water I am very pleased to have this!

The paperwork states more than once not to use this indoors or install it permanently under any circumstances, I am a rebel so proceeded to do just that. I vented it outside and hooked it up like you would any other water heater.
It has worked great so far, the pressure has to be turned down pretty low to get the water really hot but in my application I don’t need high pressure, just an occasional shower and washing hands.
One note, the connectors are British pipe thread, this isn’t a problem if you use it as intended as they supply an adapter to connect it to a garden hose and the shower hose connects directly to it. If however you are disregarding their dire warnings and hooking up to permanent plumbing it wont work with American NPT fittings. You can get adapters here on Amazon to make it work
We’re having our bathroom remodeled and for a family of five, 2 weeks without a bath wasn’t going to cut it. This unit works fine, does exactly what it says it will do, was a breeze to set up and has saved the day – great purchase, fast shipping, all good!
It should be noticed that as it is marketed as performing under low-pressure situations–it also means that when the shower is turned to it’s hottest–it is pretty low pressure. Still, it’s decent pressure and gets the job done.
I installed a drain valve between the unit and the water supply hose so I could easily drain the unit after each shower during the winter by just turning a handle. It worked perfectly. We used the shower for two winters without a problem as long as I drained the shower religiously after each use. Unfortunately… I forgot one night to drain the shower when it was going to freeze, and today the unit has a broken pipe inside. Totally my fault.
So if you are thinking of using this in the winter you absolutely need to install a drain valve (super easy–just a couple of fitting from Home Depot and some plumbers tape). And you absolutely need to not forget to drain it!
