Hi,
I have seen a few reviews regarding the temperature bring too hot on lowest setting. When searing the grate i had a reading of 300 degrees on the lowest setting
Can anyone show me how to reduce the temperature
Really like this BBQ, it’s great for camping or a day at the beach or even a main BBQ at a push. There are a few things that stop it from being excellent, the first is that it burns too hot even at its lowest setting. I haven’t tried adjusting the regulator yet let someone has already mentioned. Another issue is how much it smokes, I’ve never seen anything like it! I also wish it had a higher tray like most BBQ for slower cooking or keeping warm. One last thing is the connection of the gas to BBQ is well dodge in my opinion.
I don’t regret the buy but I need to do some work on it for it to be awesome!
This is a good bit of kit. Cooks well and a handy size. You will need a wire brush to clean it fully, the little tool that comes with it isn’t good enough to clean it properly but it does help. BBQ highly recommended. It’s a shame they don’t include the extender hose and this is expensive elsewhere. It’s easier to just make one yourself.
Attractive throw in the truck & Go BBQ. Problem as many reviews stated gets far too hot. On the minimum setting reaches 300 c this totally scorches any seasoning off the grill bed. More of a burnt sacrifice than food. Following advice from reviewers I removed the bits to expose the burner and lit with regulator set to minimum, removed the sticker in centre of dial to expose hex drive bolt then inserted alan key and turned anti clockwise until it just supported a flame. Now it is enjoyable to use and can cook a full breakfast. BTW the budget De Buyer 20cm 1mm thick La Lyonnaise pan fits with the lid down to do the fried eggs. IMHO Char-broil have over specified the burner, much too powerful, like setting your car to tick over to stay under the speed limit. The expensive bag that’s an extra is fine for that grab & go. I have a 4×4 pick-up and the highest mountain in Portugal on this island so perfect for Tailgating and cooking up in the clouds.
Would be 5 star if they fitted a more reserved burner.
Cut the regulator straight off fitted pipe and propane regulator- jubilee clips to a 11kg bottle of propane it will last months, turned regulator right down works a treat!
Can’t wait to cook on it. Save yourself some money people get converting.
This thing definitely kicks out and retains hear very well. I’ve used it so many times now over the last few weeks. Uses very little gas, I’ve had about 10 decent cook outs and only just used up 1 bottle of gas.
It is well built, for the price point I can’t fault it at all.

This one is a game changer. It sits beautifully on a surface so you can have space around you to put things. Once finished with, the grill and drip tray go in the dishwasher, give the rest a wipe over, and put it away in the kitchen cupboard ! Brilliant !!
We will get an adaptor so we can connect to a larger bottle for home use but having the option to use small cannisters is brilliant for travelling.
Bought to replace a none portable barbecue so we can store it in a small bunker, as we use at our holiday home at the coast and the other one rusted over a few years
We bought this to take on caravan trips. The temperature gauge is a great feature and helps to cook food to perfection. It is a good size to BBQ several items at once. Very sturdy and much better than others we have seen on the market. So easy to clean and store. A bit more expensive than others on the market however well worth the extra cost.

Seen lots of mixed reviews of issues with heating and or burning everything.
Most i saw, had a regulator with black top. The one with red I have works flawlessly.
Few things people would perhaps not understand and have issues with as a result:
– the coleman c500 is a butane 70% and propane 30% mix. Butane is known for being difficult to work with in cold conditions and surprise surprise- using bbq outside in 12c cold, once i got to half bottle of cartridge it was barely burning. Seen this “issue” in other reviews and is purely down to cold temperature. When i used it in hot weather, i ran down the gas cartridge to fully empty without issues.
2. If using it with the purchased adaptor for large bottles i do not think the onboard regulator is actually a pressure regulator. I did have some issues with big gas bottle being too high pressure initially. So decided to replace the bottle side of the adaptor to the same propane adaptor that came with my ooni gas oven. Now surely 2x adaptors are not supposed to be used -but I haven’t seen any markings for the onboard adaptor to show something like 30mbar or any pressure rating. So the onboard red top regulator I believe is just a tap and not an actual pressure regulator.

I got the adaptor kit and am using this with an 11kg gas bottle. Most cost effective way to do it. No issues with control of gas flow. Just work the regulator as best you can, use your meat thermometer, and you’ll get delicious meat.
Fabulous small BBQ, have used on boat trips & at home. Really sturdy & plenty of cooking surface for BBQ for 4 people. Best thing ever – the Ikea 71L shopping bag is the perfect size to carry or just cover the BBQ.
Ich kann wie gesagt manche Rezensionen nicht verstehen, ja ich habe auch einen zurck schicken mssen weil der Gas-Regler nicht in der Halterung einhackte aber beim 2ten ist es perfekt und der Austausch hat 2 Tage gedauert. Und ja das Rost wackelt am Gehuse, aber das legt sich nach der einbrenn fase…
Ich habe den charbroil Grade das erste Mal getestet und er ist der erste Gasgrill den ich besitze (vorher nur Kohle) und ich bin sicherlich kein Profi aber die Hitzeverteilung ist perfekt und mit geffnetem Deckel und dem Regler lsst sich entspannt! Grillen ( ich knnte whrend dessen in den Keller und mit ein Weizen einschrnken ). Klar man sollte nicht oder nie auf voller Leistung Grillen damit das so entspannt bleibt… Rauchentwicklung fand ich auch vollkommen in Ordnung… Bei Wind ist die Flamme nicht ausgegangen…. Alles perfekt… Zu der Haltbarkeit kann ich noch nix sagen aber die Qualitt und Wertigkeit finde ich mit Weber und Burnhard auf einem Niveau! Habe mir noch den Gasflaschen Anschluss bestellt, falls sich da was im Grillverhalten oder anderes sich ndert wrde ich den Kommentar ndern, aber ich vermute das es genau so top ist wie ich es heute erlebt habe!
Easy to put together. Follow the seasoning instructions to help prevent food sticking to the grate. Run on full blast afterwards to burn off food scraps and grease. Grate not the easiest to clean but not too difficult.
I’ve run it with C500 cartridges for a small meal and on patio gas with the adaptor hose for a larger gathering. A C500 cartridge easily lasts 3-4 bbqs when it’s just the two of us.
Overall very pleased. Food tastes good (even better with wood chips) and does not dry out.
One niggle is that it can run a bit hot if you’re not careful, I just open the lid from time to time to keep things a bit cooler. I’m not so sure regarding the claims about preventing flare ups. Most meats are ok but take care with burgers dripping lots of fat onto the burner!

For the price paid thus is such a decent bit of kit, had a cadac previously and although not as good for actually cooking it’s so so much easier to move, cook and clean. Learning to get decent results as it cooks differently to a Cadac but totally effective and easy to use

Excellent. We have had 2 small bbq’s so far this week and it cooks very well.
Went on my brothers recommendation as he is a fab cook and excellent on the bbq- saw some reviews and had some reservations about the heat but hubby says this is excellent, easy to use, cooks well and seems easy to clean. Isn’t as heavy as i thought and the food certainly tastes amazing and moist. Can’t wait to try it out on the beach ! We would recommend this to anyone wanting a portable one. We are going to make a trolley for it to sit on at the van so its off the ground.

Firstly it cooks really well and produces perfect result.
Its super portable. It’s easy to hold and carry and quite lightweight.
It looks very cool and definitely is an object of desire at the beach.
The grilling space is huge. It maximises the space and can fit plenty on. Cooking time is quite quick and heating is even.
It cools downs rather quickly once finished with.
I’ve had no gas issues with it as other reviewers have mentioned. It regulates well. The temperature keeps consistent. I used it with a Coleman 300 gas cannister.
The build quality is very high. Its clearly built to last and be quite durable.
Update 6 May 22 we had been using Coleman C300 performance gas cartridges. The instructions don’t really specify what size to use so last week we bought C500 cylinders as they were the only ones in stock in the shop. Excellent !!! The fact that the cylinder is larger means it has a larger surface area so the gas can vapourise more rapidly. The quality of the cooking was great! If only this had been made clear in the beginning!
This is a very good BBQ. I bought one a few years ago and have worn that one out, so I bought a replacement.
If you are used to a charcoal BBQ these are very different. They cook fast and the lid needs to be closed while cooking.
It is portable and you can use small gas cannisters. These are ok when full but I found that the pressure and hence the heat produced drops off. I bought the hose adapter so it will fit on a larger gas cylinder and this is a lot better.
Der Grill ist klasse, minimal hat der Rost Spiel und wackelt etwas aber das strt mich nicht solange die Grillleistung super ist. Der Grill erreicht sehr gute Temperaturen und bis jetzt ist bei mir alles, von Fleisch bis Gemse, sehr gut gelungen. Durch das TruInfrared Konzept, qualmt der Grill etwas mehr als andere Gasgrills aber es strt mich nicht wirklich.

Love the versatility and portability of this bbq. Can be put away when not in use and no more ugly big bbq in the garden. Took on our holiday to Cornwall. Super quality and friends and family are buying them too. Highly recommend.

We bought this unit April 2020 so I think we have used this unit long enough now to leave a REAL review as a user for more than a year now.
We held a recent Glastonbury party for 16 people and cooked burgers and other bits so quickly that even I was surprised at how well this unit did. The burgers were cooked well and I was extremely happy with how well this bbq performed. I have used it many times before and been impressed but this time I was compelled to write a review. This Char-Broil X200 replaced a large freestanding bbq (well known brand) that had rusted away. I have to say, at least in this case size isn’t everything. I would never buy a large bbq again… Why? well this BBQ out performed anything I had used previously. When we were finished we cleaned and packed it away easily in the optional bag, and stored it in our garden shed. In conclusion, would I buy this bbq again? ABSOLUTETLY YES

Bought this BBQ as we wanted speed on set up and dismantle. Sets up in 2 minutes and can be cooled down in half an hour for a quick lift and in to the garage for storage. Also we didn’t want to have a BBQ trolley that stood outside all year rusting. This is very portable and small for storage.
OK so you don’t get the complete charcoal BBQ taste (always gave me heartburn anyway) but we were very impressed with the cooking as we can control the temperature. Still leaves the nice char marks on sausages and burgers. We tried minute steak and half peppers and whole mushrooms, all cooked perfectly without burning. Can’t wait to try it again once the weather improves.

Top Grill. Wird schnell warm. Hitze verteilt sich annhernd gleich auf kompletter Grillflche. Einfach zu reinigen mit dem mitgelieferten “Kratzer”.
Trotz dass der Grill sehr kompakt ist, hat man genug Grillflche um fr 3-4 Personen zu Grillen.
Absolutely love this BBQ easy to set up, easy to clean. Need to experiment with timings and controls as it cooks quicker then a normal BBQ food tastes amazing.
