Great game to play with all ages. Every Christmas/ Birthday I look for a new game and I wish that I had seen this game years ago. During lockdown we played this in my parents garden. It was perfect because everybody could be 2 meters apart playing the game. My son was 9 and my parents are in their 70’s and we all had a big laugh playing this game and it was so easy to understand. Definitely value for money and because the box is not big it’s great to go in a suitcase. Also it was educational and great as a conversation starter. Gm wych

This is a hilarious game to play! Dead easy to pick up and get to grips with. We especially liked the swap/copy/double sections….they added an extra sense of fun to the game. We would’ve liked a Scribble board for each team, but just used pen and paper which worked well. I would definitely recommend this game!

Great game, especially for families / groups of mixed ages and abilities. If you want a game that you can start straight away without lots of rules, one that everyone will enjoy and a good giggle I highly recommend.

I would purchase this game for my friends!!

We really enjoyed this game, simple to learn, all the ages in the family could play easily with as much chance as each other of winning. As there is no central game board, you can play without sitting round a table, game takes about 30-45 minutes so perfect amount of time in my opinion. Shows up that you have no idea sometimes about things you would have thought you knew! Good family fun!

Excellent game, which isn’t just your standard pub quiz type game!!! It really gets that brain power going, but ultimately is so much fun for the whole family. Anyone can have a good crack with this game at any occasion. I thoroughly recommend.

A change from the usual quiz based games, you just guess a range for your answer. Simple idea, easy to play and the dry wipe boards saves hunting round for pens and paper. And it’s great to play over Zoom!

This game is easy to get the hang of and so great for players of all ages. However, players can cheat by putting down huge ranges when guessing the answer to a question – which is a bit annoying. There is a rule that says if all players guess the correct range in answer to a single question, then the person with the biggest range doesn’t score any points, but we ended up introducing our own rules to combat against this! I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys playing board games and is looking for something that’s relatively quick to play and easy to set up.

What a fun game. Good laugh for the family. Boards are really good quality and the scoring is easy. We’ve played it a lot in our house.

Easy to learn the rules and to play. The fact you guess a range, rather than the exact answers really levels the playing field for everyone. Great game. We will be adding it as a round to the regular family lockdown quiz over Zoom.

We played this at Christmas as a family game. It’s a great leveller as anyone can gain points and win. In fact the usual brainy one in our family often lost out to the considered least knowledgable member and youngest!. Loved it! Going to buy an extra set of cards soon!

  19. Anonymous says:

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersOf all the games we’ve bought over recent years (we tend to try to buy one each year for the family at Christmas) this one has ‘scored’ the best! We’ve played it once and had a good many laughs as well as finding quite a few of the ‘facts’ both interesting and amazing/shocking (it being quite educational too).
There are five of us and each became the ‘quizmaster/mistress’ for each question in rotation, which seemed to work well, score-wise.
What we are really hoping is that when the time comes to need new cards [which won’t be long as we’ll be playing this game regularly because it’s so good (!)] we’re hoping that a ‘re-stocking’ set of cards won’t cost virtually the same as the original game (as, with most of these games that need new cards, often the cost of the set seems more than maybe it’s fair to charge). My view is that if you charge a reasonable amount, more people will buy the new sets – simple! But charge a lot and people will look out for new games and effectively discard the old game once the answers to the questions become well-known!
But, all of that aside, 10 out of 10 for dreaming up the concept of confident – thank you !!

Really liked this game. Found it to be so easy to grasp and play. Played about 6 games now and a real favourite that can easily be played on video calls. The amount of cards supplied means you can play tons of games without ever using the same card. A game that i feel is for all skill levels.

CONFIDENT – The whole family played this board game and we all had so much fun. It’s simple to learn and the instruction give you the detail that’s not so obvious. The phrase ‘O is that what it is’ was the favourite on the night. If you don’t know the answer then a guess will do – so much fun! and you will learn a bunch of interesting facts. Well worth buying. 10/10

My family love board games but I hate spending ages reading instructions this game is super quick to learn and good fun we really enjoyed playing it. It’s quite simple but I like the fact there are extra additions to make it more challenging if you wish.

Bought after is was recommended by a friend.
Brilliant game, play it with our 17, 19 and 20 year old children – it gets everyone talking (sometimes arguing!)
It’s quite quick to play, so we have family time then it allows people to get on with other things.
Might try it over zoom with friends (and a glass of wine)

Bought this for a family member after a friend recommended it. His family enjoyed it and invited me to play it with them over zoom. This was very easy to do and we laughed a lot playing it. We ranged in age from teens to over sixties and all enjoyed it. No prior knowledge is needed and part of the fun is estimating the answers using a mixture of general knowledge and wild guessing! I’m looking forward to playing it again, it was great fun.

Good game – easy to pick up and play. Has universal appeal and can be played with young and old as it’s not a test of precise knowledge as such, more a view on the range based on different things.

Loads of cards, so can be played many times without repeating the questions.

My family have really enjoyed playing this game. My sons are 14 and 12 and we have all found it great fun. My daughter is 9 and enjoys reading the questions and keeping the scores. Due to the nature of guessing within a range everyone has an opportunity to win. It is a great balance between knowledge and just having a guess! The questions are varied and fun. I would highly recommend it!

This is one of the few games that you can pick up very easily and ensure all the family can take part. We had a 5 year old, a 7 year old, a 10 year old and two elderly grandparents playing and it worked very well with lots of laughs and discussions. The only concession we made was to take out a few items which were not relevant for all the young ones. Highly recommended

We bought this as the family Christmas game but didn’t think we’d be able to play it because of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. As it turned out it was easy to join homes via a video service (FaceTime, Zoom etc.) & play it that way. Lots of fun & although based on “quiz” questions, doesn’t really take much knowledge to play. Everyone can have a guess at a range or use a “Boost” to help them out. Well worth the investment.

So far, played the game only once with an assortment of players across all ages from 12 to 70. Age is no barrier to enjoyment. No complicated rules to understand or argue over – just open the box, take a minute or two to read the introduction and get going.
And, as a side issue, you learn a lot of facts along the way.
    Thank you.

  48. CharmaiURR says:

     United Kingdom

Possibly with its roots (like the similar card game More or Less maybe) has its roots in Distinctly Average ( a round in Richard’s Osman’s House of Games ) it certainly gets conversation going so is more than just a quiz, and so better with more players. Very much enjoyed but we did adapt the scoring especially with fewer players as often one guess was close – say ’60 to 70′ with an answer of 59 where other guesses were all 100+ and we chose to award 2points.
House Rules Apply like many games we play.

The questions are varied – so everyone feels they have had a fair chance.

We’ve really enjoyed playing this over Zoom with the family we couldn’t see at Christmas. It’s easy to learn and really fun when you introduce the copy, swap and double functions, which all backfired on us and resulted in my 82 year old Mum winning – hilarious! We played across age groups 15 to 82 – great to have a game the whole family enjoyed that just needed brain power and no computers.

Lover the fact that it could take you 15 minutes to complete a round or you could keep going all evening depending on how the mood took you. I bought Confident for a Christmas gift for my granddaughter who is 12. I really didn’t know what I was buying as I bought online hence couldn’t see the product but was swayed by the excellent comments – I certainly wasn’t defrauded. Would highly recommend for any family gatherings. This was our main board game for this Christmas and it went down a treat. It’s an easy to understand game, so much so that all ages can participate, our youngest was 9 yo. The rules are also easily changed for whatever the situation (e.g. for faster play). It quickly ignites the competition in the family with the score board and allows for laughs at each other’s answers.

Really enjoyed the game. Played a few times now. Easy to learn. Works well over Zoom! Great for getting conversations going ( I didn’t know….. etc). Having a rubbish memory, we have played the cards a couple of times and although we were closer, there was still a competition there. A bit concerned about when we know the answers really well. Hopefully there will be booster packs every couple of years. Intrigued by the personal extension pack. That should last if it’s played by different groups. Good original game!

It’s quick to play (about 20 minutes), easy to learn but with really intriguing questions that get you thinking – and let everyone show off their specialist knowledge! No strategy required, just guess the range of the answer as closely as you can! We’ve even played it online as the cards are fun to try without the boards if needed. Although – the pens and boards are great – nice design with the built in erasers.

Perfect party game with wipe-able answer boards, score sheet and dry wipe pens (although ours didn’t work the first time we played, until we got it back out a few days later and they suddenly all worked fine!) Are there any downsides?
    1. I’d like an option to buy expansion packs of questions

Fabulous Christmas or birthday present. I was lucky enough to meet Ceri when he was promoting his game at a stand in John Lewis. I can honestly say that they game lives up to its title. Love this game! We bought it for ourselves initially and then bought it as a gift too. You can play with big groups and pair up, or you can play as individuals. We have played in groups of 4 but also up to 12. Good that there are 2 sets of cards, you don’t even get through a third of once deck with one game. Something for everyone. Look forward to purchasing the extra card sets when we get through these. Highly recommend!

It’s easy to learn and enjoyable to play. Purchased for a quick Christmas activity with the family, everyone loved it so much that it even made a second appearance at the start of new years eve. A question is asked, you choose your lowest and highest answer, the range inbetween is also noted. If the answer falls in the range you get 1 point, the player/team with the smallest range gets 3, quickest to 15 wins. The questions are excellent, they really make you think.

A different take on a family or group game, as you basically all play at the same time, and anyone can play – as you are just taking your best guess at the range that the answer may be in. We find usual trivia or knowldge games to be a bit awkward and offputing for those less clever, or younger. But this gets round that by being easy for everyone to play at once and just take a good guess. The quality of the boards, pens, etc is good too. Be good to have additional boards.

“Every day is a school day” – That is how this game will make you feel. The facts are really fun and this is a game that the whole family can play, even those with limited general knowledge. The ‘Swap’, ‘Copy’ and ‘Double’ power-ups are really fun too, especially if you’re playing to win!!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersAs an avid board game player i bought this to play at our family game nights. We normally play with 8 people so found this played better in teams of 2 but tbh this worked better anyway having someone to throw your guesses at.
Have played with kids aged 12 to 14 who loved it and adults upto 70yrs old and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The nature of the game meant age rarely was a factor as noone knew the answers spot on. The only thing is some of the dry wipes are so dry you cant use them (nit quite the point of a dry wipe pen :-)) also as yet there is no exp pack and as is typical with games like this it would in time be possible for it to become stale if you play it a lot and become familiar with the questions, that said the creators included a message in my copy stating that 1 is planned shortly. Good fun would defo recommend.

    Update
The creators have sent out replacement pens not expected but 1st class service. Looking forward to the expansion being released September.

Like that it is very fair and hard to predict who will win – different to other games where age/education provide more opportunity as the questions are quite diverse and anyone can take a guess. Really interesting facts in the questions too.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI bought this for my sons 14th birthday. Have just played it with 5 of us ages 9-52yrs. It’s a good fun general knowledge game with numerical answers. As the answers you give are ranges there is less pressure you can play according to how confident you feel of your answer. The questions are interesting for example how many sausage rolls are sold each week at Greggs? We have only played the basic game once so far (many more questions to answer!). and we will try the three Powers next time… planning to take this on uk holiday for the rainy days/evenings I imagine it will be good for team play too…

This game is just brilliant. We have spent many a hilarious hour playing it with the kids and the grandparents too – it definitely appeals to all generations! Perfect for a camping trip or a weekend away, this game is guaranteed to get everyone involved. One of the particularly great things about it is how the questions are written in such an accessible way. My 12 year old has learning difficulties and usually shies away from reading aloud but when we play CONFIDENT he always has to be in charge of reading the questions. Thanks for inventing such a simple, engaging and enjoyable format – genius!

Loved this new game! Really easy to learn and suitable for all the family, we played in mixed age range teams and some of the discussions were hysterical. We had to set a timer in the end or we would have been there all night. In the end with the timer we could play numerous rounds, best or three, changed to best of five, then seven, we were addicted immediately and friends and family have gone on to buy there own copy.

    Hi Ceri & Natalie
As a retired actuary (yes I saw the review in The Actuary) I love it. Unlike with most quiz/trivia. questions you don’t have to know the exact answer – just be somewhere near (or at least nearer than others playing it). A possible change would be to limit the upper number in the range to 2 or 3 times the actual answer to prevent “silly” ranges getting a point.
As with most question based games, if the same players are involved too often the answers can be remembered meaning expansion kits will be required (or at least a Guiness Book of Records to write your own). Great idea – well done.

We’ve played this game a number of times since we bought it at Christmas 2018 and we absolutely love it. It’s our new favourite! We have played it with a number of different groups of friends and family members, adults and children, and they’ve all enjoyed it. Initially, everyone thinks its going to be difficult as its not terribly easy to explain, but after one quick trial round everyone gets the hang of it and you’re off! Would love an expansion pack as I think we’re running short of cards now!

We’ve had hours of fun with Confident? You truly don’t need to know the answers to get good at this game, and the ‘wild card’ elements keep everyone on their toes, and help provide a randomness that keeps the competition alive for those of us who love that part of playing games. And we laughed like drains….

Bought this to take home for Christmas and play with the family, and everyone enjoyed! It’s a perfect game for all ages and abilities with it’s unique approach to answering using educated guesses. There’s a great range of well chosen questions across a broad range of topics with some really surprising answers to keep the experience competitive and fun.

I highly recommend this game, definite 5 star purchase.

Bought the game as a Christmas present and it was perfect for large, diverse age group to play over the holidays. We all liked the fact the answers require a “range” response not a precise number or fact, therefore increasing the chance of winning and also being good fun. Everyone felt involved and enjoyed playing several times over Christmas. Wide range of topics and categories covered too. Will be good to play again and again as we will never remember all the answers!! Good fun, highly recommend it.

This game is so good because it’s accessible to anyone and everyone. You don’t need to have amazing general knowledge like other similar games and there are so many different topics that you don’t find that one person runs away with it. The addition of the 3 powers adds an extra twist to the game, and are particularly useful when you’ve got people nearing the 15 points-mark!

It’s been a big hit over Christmas with friends and family alike, and my family are not big into their trivia games and I’m already looking forward to my next games night. Even better, I’ve learnt some new fun facts that may come in handy at a future pub quiz!

Great purchase and I highly recommend buying it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe game is really well designed and fun to play. The questions are almost perfectly set where you always feel like you kind of know it, but you can never be totally sure. The extra powers add some spice as well.
We found it works as a competitive game and just as well as a collaborative one with people working in teams or all together to come up with the best estimate.
    Highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis really is such a good game for any groups. Unlike quiz games where it gets tedious when you don’t know the right answer, in this one it’s unlikely anyone will know the exact answer and so everyone is able to join in and play. “What’s the average running speed of a kangaroo”? I’d go for 30mph to 50 mph? Winner just has to have the right answer in their range, and a smaller range than the others……….. really simple, and it works so well because the questions are all a bit off the wall……..

Personally I prefer games like this to right / wrong trivia games, and for me Confident is as good as games like Chronology, Dixit and Exploding Kittens………

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe best thing about Confident? is that it offers a bit of something for everyone, no matter what age or level of general knowledge. I haven’t really played any games in the past that do this.

For me, I love that you can play in teams or you can play solo, you can be devious against other players (or teams) and you learn new facts. There is tension, excitement and surprise at some of the answers.

All in all great fun with friends and family alike.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI don’t usually buy board games, but decided to get a new one for Christmas and I couldn’t recommend CONFIDENT? enough – I can’t think of a better game to play with family and friends. It only took a couple of minutes to learn (there’s a good video on their website) and It’s so much more fun than the traditional games. I really like the range idea – it perfectly balances having to know facts and making educated guesses, and it means that everyone has a chance so no one ever gets bored. There’s depth to it too as you can play strategically depending on how clever you think your friends are. The powers add an extra dimension with fun interaction between players. I expect I’ll be having many more exciting evenings playing CONFIDENT? with family and friends!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersMost trivia games work best when you have players with similar trivia knowledge but ‘Confident?’ works with various levels of ability thanks to it main twist on the usual trivia games, the use of ranges.

In Confident? instead of giving the correct answer you give a range, the person with the smallest range is rewarded the most but everyone who gets it right is also rewarded.

The additional 3 abilities which the game has to copy someone, switch two people and double points for one question add an extra dimension especially when people have played the game a couple of times.

Small groups (3-4 players) can play a round in 15-20 minutes, if you have a larger group with 4+ teams (of 2+ players) the game time can be up to 45 minutes.

This is a great trivia game which has plenty of re-playability, plenty of highs and lows for all the players.
