Easy to understand
I am a fluent Welsh speaker (mother tongue) living in Scotland, I purchased this in an attempt to assist a non Welsh speaking Welshman to improve his language which he has self taught during lockdown. As yet we have yet to fully test it out but I feel this game will assist his fluency.

As a family of 4 of which 3 are welsh speakers we used both languages for the questions, which wasn’t onerous at all and added to the fun. I would say teenagers up would be the age demographic

This is a fantastic game but I would recommend purchasing it elsewhere. Amazon will not allow me to use even a single word of Welsh in this review, which is disgraceful. Shame on you Amazon.

Great game to play with my friends. Very fun and interesting questions. Also great help if you’re learning Welsh.
Great fu
The concept is a lot of fun and is strong enough to carry the game really. It’s designed to sit around a table but you can do it over zoom etc as well if you want to, we did that over Christmas and it worked. Much more fun than a standard quiz.
The bilingual aspect is brilliant for a family like mine who mostly speak Welsh at home but have a couple of English members as well. My wife is learning Welsh and although she’d be lost with it only in Welsh, she understands enough to go “ah so does x mean y in Welsh?”.

Post Xmas lunch and a game Hyderus provided light hearted fun with an opportunity to improve my Welsh.
Pretty decent quiz style game
I play a lot of board games but wanted something to take to a work’s party that would be accessible to everyone and didn’t have a lot of rules overhead.
The welsh slant is great and the questions are well researched and up to date. The game itself is O.K. it plays on a wits and wagers style where you don’t need to know the answers to win but the game itself can be a but easy to break, especially at lower counts. This really works best with a big group and ideally in teams in my opinion.
Excellent game for bi-lingual Welesh speakers
Not had a chance to play it yet, but am looking forward to. I’m a fluent Welsh speaker as are many of my friends so we are looking forward to being able to meet properly to have a night of enjoyment.

Great to play with friends
This game is very interesting to play, has some great facts about Wales as well as other subjects. Great scoring system too as people who are behind can easily get in front. You don’t have to be a Welsh speaker either, don’t let the welsh language aspect put you off. You may also learn some of the language as you play if you wish. Only tried plying so far in the basic form.
Great fun and genuinely bilingual
We played this game with a wide range of family members and kept returning to playing it again and again. There is a huge number of questions, so you are unlikely to run out, and it is genuinely bilingual, meaning it can be played in both languages together at once! Well worth it!
Great family fun with a Welsh focus!
Got this at Christmas and had fun playing a couple of games. Played in English so far as with non-Welsh speakers which is perfectly easy to do as everything’s translated. Many of the questions are also Welsh themed. Looking forward to playing this with my husband in Welsh to practice and planning on using it during Caffi Pop- a Carmarthenshire pop-up caf for Welsh learners and speakers.

A great easy to set up and easy to play game. The fact it is bilingual and that many of the questions have a Welsh focus is areal bonus, whether you are Welsh or not. Recommended!
Fantastic family game
I bought this game for my sister and we played it after Christmas dinner. Excellent game loads of laughs and instructions easy to follow and a very good video explaining how the game works. I would recommend the game to anyone. The biggest problem I had was that I wrote a review in Welsh and English, as the game is a Welsh and English game, but Amazon wouldn’t post the review because I did it in Welsh and English. I think this is discrimination against Welsh speakers and am very disappointed with Amazon. Excellent game though.
Great game
I usually buy a board game each Christmas to play with the family. Some are better than others.. Confident was very entertaining & worked really well across the generations (from teenage kids to over 80s) .. The ‘How to play’ instructions were easy to follow & we got started quickly. Although a bit of general knowledge can be useful when playing ‘quiz’ games .. it is not essential when playing Confident as players have to provide answers within a range and everyone was able to participate.The mix of questions was good too.. We played the basic level of the game but there is the opportunity to play with ‘add on variations’. Have bought a second game as a Christmas present..
Gwych/Excelle
This is a smashing game , fun for all ages. The beauty is of course is that even if you don’t know the answer you can still have a good guess. My kids loved it (primary school age) as did the grandparents.
Highly recommended.

My fam has been playing Confident? for years – it’s our favourite game to play at Christmas. So when I heard there was a Wales version I had to get it!
Around half the questions are about Wales. They’re on fun topics about Welsh celebs and culture, like how old was Rob Brydon when he got famous and what’s the top speed of the zip line in North Wales. The other half are random and hilarious questions that cover all sorts of things. The beauty of the game is you don’t need to know the answers, so everyone can play and it’s usually people’s wild answers that make it so fun!
Everything is in English and Welsh, which is really cool. Half my family speak Welsh so it’s perfect for us as we can brush up on our Welsh!
Highly recommend it – There’s nothing else like it about Wales! If you’ve played confident before and are Welsh, then you’ll absolutely love it. If you haven’t played confident before, then you’re in for a treat!
