I have several reviews, good and bad, but saw it recommended in PC magazine to took a chance. Worked first go and connected to PC. It doesn’t actually connect to PC but to Google drive, which was fine and I just made a short cut and renamed the default directory. Between its software and windows you reverse back to front scans etc. It wasn’t keen on the thin plastic 35mm frames, but it was easy just to drop into holder one at a time. Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersThis item did its job 99% – the only problem I had was when it froze on just one complex slide at 10megapixel resolution, but that worked at 5mp. Getting the illumination level optimum took a few “runs”, but the delivery was very quick and “saved my bacon” in a rush job after my previous converter died.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersUpdated review. Having had chance to use this now, I have to say it does what it says and was impressed at its simplicity! Oh I’m sure you can get better quality, but with that the price goes up and up. For the money I’d say its a super bit of kit for digitising your old slides/negatives. Will be trying the VHS to PC kit next…

My scanner, arrived two days ago and I’ve just got around opening it and setting it up. From first appearances, it appears to be a decent piece of kit, although it’s plastic. It seems relatively well-made and robust, though I think as with most plastic items it would be wise not to mistreat it. It’s a pity that an SD card wasn’t included, you have to buy this separately. The scanner is quite easy to operate once you’ve got to grips with the instruction manual which seems to be written by someone without a very good command of English. As for the results I will need to scan a lot more slides before I can comment on this but so far they seem okay. Considering the price I think this is a reasonable piece of kit.

I really liked that this product is so simple to use, and to setup.
It wasn’t 100% clear in the instructions that in order to transfer the images from slide/negative to the PC, that they have to be saved to an SD card first then transferred from the card to the PC, but I figured it out quickly enough anyway.
Occasionally I found the slides were occasionally sliding under each other and I was getting a double overlapped image, and the slider is a little sticky, but as far as the slider goes, it will probably loosen with use.
I am more than happy with this product as it does exactly what I was looking for without breaking the bank too much.

This is an excellent and simple to use film to digital file scanner. It comes with both 35mm negative and slide carriers. Sadly it does not have a 110 film or 127 film carrier so a hand made card version would have to be made DIY to scan these less common film types.

Plastic framed slides fit neatly and slide in and out. Paper framed slides move around and have to be aligned.

The automatic feed works well with cardboard and thin plastic slides and the separate slide holders allow you to capture slides held in thicker sleeves. The end result can be managed with the settings and in general the end result is quite good. I did have some problem with the result being a bit pink but I managed to fine tune the exposure too limit this effec

This device is really good, shame I purchased a brand new one and the seller sent me one used,as you can see my screen is very heavy scratched!I will buy again and keep when I know it’s brand new,I don’t have a laptop, take a brand new 32gb max card, registration it on your phone but to transfer to (media to other devices)your phone should promt this descission, put card in device and work away, put card in phone and upload to social media, very simple.i do find tho,the good crisp colours from photograph’s is lost even with the adjustments you can do on the device, but definitely worth it,a app could possibly add in better depth off colour?!.very fast,I have hundreds to get done, but I want my brand new device!

    Brilliant for what it does

i found a couple of films that had been used and i had no idea what was on them, so i got them developed because i had some negatives from a while ago. buying this slide and negative viewer was ideal. i could view the negatives, save them to a memory card or transfer them to my computer. a great universal bit of equipment, highly recommended. supplier equally as good.

The slide delivery system is a bit clunky but i managed to scan in all my slides from the sixties and seventies in as good a quality as the original image. Exposure takes a bit of adjustment but i got there. i haven’t marked the technical support as i didn’t need it. Ideal machine for 1-100 slides if you are doing 1000s a better delivery system is needed.

This is a competent standalone scanner with adequate quality. It is fast and easy to operate. I bought it principally for its magazine feed, which works well with manufacturer-processed slides in plastic mounts; however, thin card-mounted slides tend to jam. The film holder is easy to load, with magnetic catches; the slide holder is not nearly so convenient, as it is very sticky to open and relies on plastic catches. This scanner was ideal for my purpose, but the slide holder is too fiddly for volume scanning.

Does not work consistently on Windows 10. You will need to buy a San Disk 32 GB SD card (not the micro) and plug into the back of the DigiScan. Set capture, Exposure, Resolution and finally MSDC. You can now scan say 30 slides, remove the SD card, plug it into your computer and upload the images. They will need some editing and resizing. Overall the DigiScan gives a very good result and is a good buy.

The DIGITNOW did the job and I was able to convert/store all of my late Mums photographic slides. Picture quality, as has been said, is hugely affected by the quality of the slide being scanned, but overall the quality is pretty good if you play a little with the options.
Photos were saved to the SD card (a must have) and then were easy to transfer to the PC.
Only issue I had was the rapid slide feeder which I found jammed all the time so I used the alternative holders that were included. A little fiddly but you soon get the hang of it and I was able to convert the slides.
Not perfect but at this price point I believe its good value as it did the job.

I have used this for a week now, scanning around 450 slides. Although I have nothing to compare this to, I am very impressed with the ease of use and the resulting images. I found the quick feeder works best with slides in plastic frames as slides in thicker cardboard frames tended to get jammed easily. The scanner does feel lightweight and I wouldn’t expect it to last a lifetime, however I have already saved lots of money by scanning slides myself rather than paying a shop to do this for me. It was easy to alter the exposure settings too in order to improve on an under exposed slide. As already mentioned by other reviews the final image is very dependent upon the quality of the original slide ! I also scanned a couple of film negatives and got good results.

I bought this to scan some 35mm b&w negs from 40 years ago to put on a web site.. For this it seems a good choice. The limiting factor is the 5MP CCD scanner which with 35mm slides/negs is a long way below what the film is capable off.

The 10MPs mode seems to have little effect other than increasing the file size. The film strip holder is good and works well.

If you just want to scan a few dozen slides/negs, esp. for web use, it is good value but don’t expect ‘high res’ images. For that spend more money on a higher res CCD scanner.

Had a lot of slides from the 70’s, and wanted to get them digitised so I could view them on the tv or computer. This did the job easily and is good value for money. However slide frames vary in thickness and can come in plastic or cardboard which can stick or jam in the loading tray, apart from that, I would recommend this product.

Very easy to use with good instructions and clear buttons on the device. Why only 4 stars? It appears that it only does the smaller slides and the full size slides get cropped. The feeding mechanism is very intuitive and is easy to use and un-jam.

It’s easy to use initially you transfer the image onto an SD card, from the card then onto your computer, where you can use your photo editing software. Golden Review Award: 90 From Our UsersI bought this scanner to digitise some old slides for posting on Instagram. I had something similar which needed software to download onto a PC. I was happy with that, but it became obsolete when I changed my computer. This one has the advantage that it transfers the image directly to a SD card (not supplied) It’s simple and straightforward to use and using the slide tray it’s possible to relatively quickly download and process images. Generally ok straight out of the scanner, if necessary I can use Lightroom on my iPhone to adjust them further if required. It won’t resurrect very badly exposed or out of focus slides – nothing will, but for my purposes this little scanner is, easy, quick, convenient, future (PC) proof and is well worth the money.

The device works fine. I give 4 stars because the transparancies that I have were taken, using a cheap camera, back in the 1960s. The interface is a bit typical of where the item is made, the picture in the viewing screen is not brilliant at all, but you can make out what is showing on the unit. the press buttons appear sturdy enough. Transparancies mounted in the holder, do slide around a bit, and therefore you may miss a bit of the top or bottom of photo, so readjust. I found that holder has to be taken out and put into unit on other side. I plugged in the USB lead, into my computer, and downloaded direct..
I have done 50 or so pictures, they show well on screen, so item is good for the money.

Golden Review Award: 89 From Our UsersEasier enough to use. Slide stack feeder was good but we had some old Boots slides( light blue ones) which didn’t work as Boots slides thicker than Kodak slides. The slides that did work didn’t take long to do.
Comes with a negative feeder and another type of slide feeder. This slide feeder again didn’t work with the Boots slides unless you remove the lid of the feeder. Lid of feeder was fiddly to get off and I found I could use it with the Boots slides if the lid was off. This led to some issues on framing but you can pick the scanner up and Tilt it slightly.
As for quality hard to tell as some were better than others and we were scanning from slides done in 1966 onwards. Still a good trip down memory lane and I had scanned 10 boxes in a couple of nights.
Choice of 10 or 5 mb scanning but I couldn’t see the difference. Instructions rough translation from Chinese but done well enough to get you through. Most of the buttons and menu straight forward.

Golden Review Award: 80 From Our UsersBought it for the fact you can load up a stack of slides and then easily feed them through and scan. Compared to most solutions that take ages to load up the slides. Scan quality a bit average so it is a trade off of quality vs convenience. Feed mechanism prone to jam a bit. UI a bit clumsy but once you work it out it is OK. While it is obviously a slide scanner the setting for selecting colour slides vs colour film vs B/W defaults to colour film. So out of the box the resulting image is all wrong. Totally inadequate documentation so you have to work it all out yourself.

Scans to a memory card. So you have to remove card to insert in PC card reader to upload the scanned images.

But overall it has enabled me to scan a lot of slides that would have (and have) sat in a box for 20 years had I not bought i

Golden Review Award: 133 From Our UsersJust like most people buying a product like this, I have hundreds of old 35mm sides put away in boxes and never looked at. I thought I’d buy this and finally store at least some of the slides. I unpacked and read the quick instructions and was up and running in a few minutes. I tried the flat 4-window carrier and it worked just fine but was rather slow so I tried the stack filler. This worked fine with the thicker plastic slides but kept jamming with cardboard or very thin slides. However, I found that, even just putting the slides in one by one into this carrier, it was quicker than using the flat 4-window carrier. You have to push the slide in carefully to prevent misalignment, but all in all the system worked fine.

It’s difficult to comment on the sharpness or colour accuracy without projecting the slides and comparing with the scanned image but they looked fine and I was happy to have digitised versions of those old images. You can see each silde on the front projected face and you have the chance to adjust brightness/exposure before pressing capture. I just left it in mid position. The other choice is resolution 5 or 10M. I changed to 10M each time I turned the machine on. It plugs into a USB port to power up . You have to have a SD card pushed into the card slot for the machine to work even if plugged into a computer’s USB port, which also powers the device.

On my Windows computer, the machine appears as a folder and you can copy the photos and paste as you wish. Sometimes you have to pull the plug out and push back in again and do the same with the SD card on occasion.

The machine also stores the images on the SD card and you can view them and delete if you wish from the computer or in stand-alone mode.

Overall, the scanner does it’s job. Not sure whether purists will find the images of the highest quality, but the machine is not expensive and is far better than the last one I had.

I’m very pleased to have it and finally be able to show old pictures to my highly amused children!

There is nothing to dislike, it is functional and does the job, even though I had to read the instructions a number of time, but go there and find that 5M in my case on slides, both negative and positive, are good and mostly sharp. The only thing I am confused about is the lead to the PC, or is it to the monitor, in that it has one yellow single bayonet, and I have none of those on the PC or monitor. I looked at the video here on the page and it showed the use of the monitor for viewing, but I can’t find anywhere to plug the yellow PC lead. Can anyone help?

A very compact way to show slides or convert to video on dvd.

Great gadget for looking at your old negatives on the laptop, compact and easy to setup, only thing i’d pick up on is that the cable provided to connect to external display are too short, the need to be longer or you need to go buy an adapters. Came promptly. Instruction manual could be better but I did work it out.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersI was suprised at the quality of the images from the negatives. Although I noticed I could only scan 35mm film, and not old 110 film. It was easy to use, but the slide holders were not very good, as the negatives tended to move in them, opening and closing the holders is a bit hard, you have to prise them open with your finger nails, and when you insert them into the scanner, it’s a bit stiff and jerky, so the negatives tended to move. For the money though, I can’t complain, it has two resolutions 5mp and 10mp, I don’t know why you would want to scan at 5mp,when it has 10mp!

Bought this to change old slides to digital. It isn’t the best item on the market but it did what was required. The pictures can only be as good or bad as the originals, which being old weren’t great!
