Beautiful electric log burne
Excellent fire, looks amazing, the log effect is as close to the real thing as possible without all the hassle of cleaning up ash and having expensive flue liners installed. If all you want is the visual aspect of a log burning stove then this is the fire for you.

HAD THIS FIRE A WHILE NOW AND LOVE IT. WORK WELL, LOOKS AMAZING.
Remote can be a bit iffy.
Used the dimple as a substitute for an old leaky gas fire.
The remote is awkward to use as the sensor on the fire can be hidden by the fretwork on the door. Just a matter of finding the right spot to trigger the remote. Though it means arm can end up in a strange position.
The flame is so real.
I am so happy with this fire. I have it for sometime now. Delivery was perfect. Nothing was missing. My Niece put it together for me so no problems there. The flame is so realistic. I light Westwick candle next to it so it sounds like the fire is crackling with the wood. Highly recommend to buy.
The original stove arrived with broken logs, I think the box should be clearly labelled ‘fragile for transit’ as a lot of reviews have commented about this happening. There are no complaints about the product itself, easy to assemble & looks great placed in the bedroom fireplace, very relaxing & cosy. We ordered the faux flue too so it looks more authentic. Easy to fill up the water tank from the water filter jug we have. So far so good!

Great product, looks very realistic when on. Heat is ok not powerful but didn’t buy it for that. Makes the room look very cosy. Easy to use and fill up. Very happy with my purchase.
Very impressive
This fire is the nearest you will get to a real wood burner, without the mess. Fairly easy to put together and fill with water, it does need filling everyday if you have it on a lot, but is not hard to do.

I love this was a bit strange filling with water in electric fire but it looks amazing! So glad I didn’t buy anything else such as the normal electric log burner this is far far better.. Everyone looks twice at it!
Lovely fireplace
Everyone loves the fire and can’t believe it’s not real flame. I have it on a high ‘flame’ setting and whilst the glass of the stove door does steam up initially, it quickly dissipates.
Really happy with the fire up to now two months in, we bought it mainly for the flame effect for the fire surround I built, but the heater does work well. Remote works well,the flame effect can be adjusted but on full can use up the water quickly,one thing to note is the water must be filtered,so I bought a Brita water filter jug.

Love it, so realistic, a bit thirsty, and fiddly for cleaning. But, so much easier than the real thing, no mess. I only use it for the flames, have tried the heater it’s quite a powerful, but can’t say what it’s like running continually. I would definitely recommend this stove.

Great fire for display or use,only problem being having to keep topping up with water,after continuos use.
Arrived with broken log, hence the 4 stars, but this was resolved by customer service at Amazon.
Realistic flames , smoke & burning embers gives a very cosy effect, however, heat output is minimal.
It’s quite easy to use. Does not take that long to be delivered.
Really good product was very easy to use. And didn’t take that long to come and also to be able to be using it. Only thing we weren’t happy about was that when it had came all the logs for inside were smashed so had to send for some a new one.
Wow what a product this is. Recieved mine today bought in a terrific deal I am absolutely thrilled! I don’t normally leave feedback but this is gorgeous and a terrific centre piece to any room.
Amazing realistic flame effect. People think it is real
It make a bit of noise when the heater is on but not so much. And at first it smelled like plastic but after two days of use not so much.

We love our new electric stove, it’s made such a difference to our lounge, the smoke effect is brilliant, we have had loads of compliments. The flue pipe was 19 from B & Q a lot cheaper than dimplex, very easy to fit. The water tank is easy to fill and lasts about three/four nights. Looking forward to seeing it at Christmas with garland on fireplace etc. Very cosy.
Brilliant wee fire. Did a lot of research before buying it and considered all models and other makes. I’m so glad I bought this one. It looks real as other people have stated. I bought the pipe for added authenticity and everyone has been fooled into thinking it’s a real stove. Was simple enough to set up and I had it unpacked and up n running within 10mins. I will probably only use it lit up for aesthetic purposes, although the heat option is handy. The only very very small picky gripe I have is I can sometimes hear the water gurgling into the chamber that turns it to steam. It’s faint, but I can hear it. I may also add that I bought this fire through the Amazon warehouse and secured it for 50 less than normal due to some small mark on it… that for the life of me I can’t find! So it’s a very happy purchase. Would defo recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing.
I previously owned an electric stove, it was cheap and cheerful and did the job. I hadn’t seen a Dimplex Opti-Myst stove until recently, and when I did then I was sold. I bought a Dimplex Gosford GS 020 here from the Amazon Warehouse. It was a “used like new” offer with a significant discount from the new price. Delivery was very fast, just two days and it appeared at my door. Setting up was a little more complicated than expected. It isn’t quite plug and go as advertised. First unpack carefully and make sure everything is intact and present. Place the stove in a suitable position allowing sufficient ventilation. Dimplex provide excellent instructions with diagrams which I found very helpful. After about 30 minutes I was done, the reservoir, water tank, bulbs and optimist transducer all fitted. Switch on and the flame effect is simply amazing and very convincing. I did however have a few issues to solve. As said previously, I bought a used item, and whilst overall it was in very good condition and “like new” as described it did have a minor problem with the stove door which at first would not close correctly. The membrane behind the glass was not seated correctly but I soon put it in the correct position. I also noticed the plastic log tray provided was broken. Actually only the base was in one piece with the logs that sit on top in pieces. It spoilt the desired flame effect:( but one short friendly phone call to Dimplex Customer Care, and a replacement log tray was sent just two days later. Very impressive service and a big thank you to Michelle.
The instructions says to use filtered water only, also to clean the internals every two weeks which as others have commented is bit of a faff. I live in a hard water area so I have decided to use a mixture of filtered with distilled water to keep the solution as “soft” possible. For reasons I am not aware apparently pure distilled water should not be used? So anyway, I am very pleased with this stove. It looks great, it has the most convincing realistic flame effect I have ever seen and the 1 or 2 Kw electric fan heating it provides whilst won’t be used very often (we have gas fired central heating) it will come in handy on those few very cold winter days we get. I forgot to mention the remote control which simple to use, smart and effective. One button controls the heating, one the flame effect and between them is a third button that switches the stove in stand by mode.
In my opinion the Opti-Myst range whilst they are expensive are well worth the money . If you seek a simpler option with less faff and maintenance then you might want to look at the less expensive Opti-Flame models. Either way you will be pleased I am sure. Dimplex Opti-Myst Stove, Black
EDIT: I have owned my Opti Myst fire for almost one year and everything is still working perfectly indeed nothing has failed. I read a number of negative reviews here complaining about poor longevity of components; replacing the water tank, bulbs, or the transducer on a regular basis. I surmise this is the result of poor maintenance and/or not reading the instructions. You do need to take care of this fire and that can be a faff at times but it’s the price we pay for the realistic flame effect. So, don’t over tighten the water tank cap. Always use filtered water. Do clean the components every two weeks and never leave the transducer in standing water for an extended period. If the fire will not be used for a while, then drain down the water and leave the transducer dry. There was another negative review commenting that LED bulbs are not fitted. Whilst LED bulbs would indeed use less electricity, It is my understanding that the heat from the Halogen bulbs is required for the flame effect. If you don’t want all the maintenance, then consider the cheaper alternatives. Some look very good but none compare with the realism of the Optimyst fires.

Lovely product. Looks very effective even when not turned on. The flames are very clever. We had issues with how ours was packaged as the plug had been bent. But we got some money back and bought a new one. We are also missing the cleaning brush. Doesn’t use much electric either.

Whilst not as good as a real fire… its as close as you will get & they look pretty good.
If you run it all day it will drink its water reservoir in one day. Though very easy to top up.
Gorgeous and realistic fire
Better than I expected. Visitors double take when they see it. The most realistic fire I’ve seen. A bit pricey, hope it lasts for a good few years. Overall very happy

First arrived broken but very quickly replaced and love it in our conservatory.

Whilst we’ve only used this once due to holiday period, I have to say that it looks really authentic and sits lovely in the room. Easy to install and hopefully bulbs will have a good shelf life as I have to say they are very expensive.

Soooooo realistic
This fire is so realistic it’s unbelievable, if I didn’t know it was electric I’d believe it was a real wood burner. We love it.
Bought this mainly as feature fire and not for heating. Looks great, we’ve had it on every evening. The fan heater isn’t really being used as we have efficient central heating but on setting one it does quickly take chill off room.

Easy to assemble, great fire effect however fan is a bit noisy as its a fan heater! For over 400 Dimplex should have put more money here to reduce the whirr.
Even the flame effect has a gentle trickle of water sound which could be interpreted as a fire crackle.
A great product which could have been even better.

Slight issue with condensation on the inside of the door but I just leave it open a little! Absolutely fabulous otherwise, I love sitting in front of it all evening!! Very realistic for an electric fire!!

Minor damage to “log fire” effect. Must have been done during packing. Log broken off. Stuck back on. No damage can been seen with fire on or off.
I love this stove after doing away with my open fire which I had no time for. Everyone comments on the “smoke effect” and it heats my sitting room very quickly. Might be a little expensive to run, I don’t use it constantly.

I really like this stove however the glass door does steam up even if the door is left open slightly. I have to open the door about half way before the mist clears completely but it looks amazing when its on and throws out some nice heat.

Just love this stove, dearer than your standard electric stove but so glad we went for this one (the Opti-Myst effect) it looks soooo real without the hassle of a real stove.

Didn’t buy from here but just wanted to say how amazing this fire is. We have always preferred gas fires because of the effect but the layout of our new house prevented us from having one because we couldn’t place it anywhere for the flue. So we settled for a LED one and were never happy. For us, this is better than the gas fires. You can have the effect without the heat (the gas fires always got too hot so we had to decide on whether we had the effect and roasted or no effect and were comfortable). This solved that issue.
Only had it a few days so can’t tell you the long term functionality but another customer in the store said he had one and he had to replace parts but that’s because he didn’t clean the water tank. Instructions say to clean out every 2 weeks and in his case it was accurate. It lasted 2 years but the limescale build up clogged systems up. But I believe Dimplex were good about replacing it.
Anyway – we love this. Definitely worth the money and so easy to set up!

This fire exceeded expectations. It really is realistic and very quiet when the heat is switched on. Easy to operate and maintain I would definitely recommend it.

A very realistic fire. Condensation only lasts a few minutes. I use de-ionised water which works very well. Put in a little of the smell enhancer that you put into iron’s, but you don’t need much. It warms the room even without the heater being on. I got some small pine logs, as shown in the picture on the stove pipe box, which I also bought. They make it look even more realistic. Well worth the money.

So thrilled with my fire . I wanted a real log burner but not possible in the house. This as good as the real thing without the mess. Really cosy and lovely to watch the flames, plus gives off nice heat if needed.

Very pleased with our purchase. Looks as realistic as you could hope for. Window has some condensation if opti-mist is on high but clears away very quickly if the door is left open a little for a minute or two. It’s not a problem.

Got one of these a week ago, massive improvement over my last Dimplex fire, which had opti flame technology, Opti myst takes it to a whole new level, combined this with a plastic stove pipe from B&Q and almost looks like a real log burner.
Seen various complaints on reviews regarding condensation, we have had no issues although we keep the flame on the lowest level as it looks more realistic on that setting.
Also seen complaints regarding the routine cleaning, again this has been no problem and takes a couple of minutes every couple of weeks. This is an expensive fire but is a fantastic focal point in any living room and is worth every penny, I haven’t even mentioned the thermostat controlled heater element of this fire, very warm and quickly heats up our living room although we usually only use the flame effect.

We just love this fire, the flames look real and really make our room very snug and warm without the heater on well worth the money and would recommend this fire.

Arrived before specified delivery date, well packed. The fire itself is very realistic and we have had several favourable comments from friends.
I love this fire. So realistic and despite what other people say it’s not a problem filling up the water container – takes 2 minutes, if that. A lot less time than building up a real fire! If i have one small niggle it’s that the door steams up when the fire is working. However, I just leave the door ajar a little and it disappears. Doesn’t detract from the whole effect.
