This is a great little fridge lock, the adhesion is really strong and the clip takes a bit of dexterity to open whilst still being easy when you know how! Perfect for purpose ( keeping a very strong cat and small people out of fridge!)

I got this because my cat has learnt to open the freezer, but not to close it. It was easy to fit. The gap between the door and body of the freezer was slightly bigger than that between the adhesive parts, so I cut a small strip of the film that had been on the adhesive and reapplied it. This stops the exposed adhesive from picking up dust/dirt. It is unobtrusive in situ, and operates smoothly both to open with one hand and to close.
Good but beware of doors that are not flush to side

Super easy to install, it has adhered well and we've not had a problem with it pulling away. It's easy to use when you're used to it, but it takes most by surprise and we've had lots of friends and family not know how to open it until we've shown them. Best of all, it keeps our two year old out 👍

Love this!! Only 4 stars because like others have said, it is a little short and doesn’t take the gap between the door and fridge itself into consideration for length. I used some *longer sticky tape that had. It made a difference.
I put it on the door first, slightly over the edge. I clipped the 2nd piece into the first and then closed the door and firmly pushed the second piece to adhere to the fridge itself. My freezer has a habit of popping open if the refrigerator door gets closed too hard. This works great for me.

Or are not loud enough. The reason ours failed.. someone did not close the door properly. This inexpensive but durable item fixes that problem. What this is…its a latch. It locks the door when you close it. And The freezer cant be opened unless you push in the sides. So now when one opens the door, they have to push the two buttons in, and when you close it, you listen to the click, then when you hear the freezer sealing, everything is gold. Originally I was going to return it as our freezer door seal is thicker than pictured in Amazon's photo. I dont know of any seal on a freezer that is that thin. So i had to maneuver it differently so the two pieces would meet as thats how it clicks together. Either way, happy with the product. It does its job. I may get a thermometer down the road that alerts if it get to warm in the freezer. But I would use it in conjunction with this.

I liked this one because it’s simple enough that I was able to show my 4 year old how to use it, so he can still get snacks and drinks when he wants to, but it’s far too complex for my little egg breaker to figure out on his own. Totally discreet and highly effective
My daughter is learning disabled and obsessed with the fridge and eating and I haven’t been able to keep her out of it until now. The best thing is you can’t see the lock at all from the front of the fridge. Have just bought 2 more to keep her out of the freezer drawers too!

So good I bought two, I can recommend this fridge lock.
Finally found a way of keeping my dog out of the fridge! Her medicine makes her ravenous and twice she raided the full contents. Thought I would buy this but was slightly reserved with it being only a few quid and I questioned the adhesive against a 35 kgs dog paw. However! 10/10. She’s tried. The fridge has moved twice but no access gained.
Fab product that not only saved my sanity, saved huge vet bills of removing wedged food packets in her gut but also saved her another 5000 extra calories. Winner!

Used on tall fridge as temporary door fix as not ready to replace fridge for a year. Put on wrong way, adhesive so strong when removed sticky got damaged. Bought another and put it on correctly. VERY good, cheap and a perfect solution.

Arrived quickly and I was surprised at how easy it was to put on the side of my fridge. I was expecting it to be fiddly but literally I peeled the tape off, lined it up on the side of my fridge door and hey ho it was done within 30 seconds! My 18 month old is obsessed with opening the under counter fridge and emptying the contents and this is literally a life saver! Iv had it on about a week now and she cannot get into it no matter how much she tries! And it’s still very firmly stuck on! It’s very easy for the rest of us, including a 6 and 10 year old, to open (after I showed them). I would highly recommend this!

This has all but solved the issue. While it does stretch over time, it has not done so by more than a millimeter or two at most, and shows not sign of additional stretching. Installation is a snap and the adhesive is quite sufficient for the purpose I have. It would be very difficult for a small child to pull this without leverage or considerable effort.

Did the job ...
Found old garage freezer door had been left slightly open and it had frozen up. Fully defrosted it to be sure n fitted this catch so it won’t happen again. The alignment was slightly out as the door is oddly offset from the main body, so we used a bit of gorilla glue. Been on 2 months and no probs at all. Should imagine this would be great for kiddies doing fridge/ cupboard raids.

Used for fridge. Didn’t stick well to the side, so had to use gorilla glue which did the job. Overall this safety clip is strong and keeps the kids from going in fridge. Would fully recommend this after using different ones which just weren’t upto it.

Easy to fit on our fridge. Just got to make sure you get it on straight , as I was slightly out. Still works ok, glue seems ok so far. Wife says it’s a bit awkward to use, but I think it’s just getting used to it. Certainly helps keep the fridge door from being left open. Not used for children.

We’ve bought this to put on the fridge – my grandad has alzheimer’s and he was always eating everything in sight in the cupboards, but especially from the fridge. We’ve had to buy this to stop him from doing that which has actually been the best thing. The adhesive isn’t that strong, but bear in mind, this was for a grown adult male – so naturally it was inevitable that it was going to stay put with his strength. We’ve superglued it to the fridge now and it hasn’t budged since!

This thing is the bomb. My wife and I are food-hoarders. Our freezer is CONSTANTLY too full. That thing is always on the verge of bursting open. So it would be that we would hear the alarm telling us that the door was open. I installed this little beauty, and it INSTANTLY solved the problem. I used a Sharpie to point to where to pull on the two buttons to release it, and even my ice-cream-obsessed family all figured it out, without having to be told. It requires zero thought. Just clean the surface with alcohol or some such, peel the backing, and apply to the door and the freezer wall AT THE SAME TIME, WHILE THE TWO PIECES ARE LOCKED TOGETHER. Thereafter, it will work perfectly.

Great for lazy fridge doors popping ope
The door of our fridge at our caravan would not stay closed which was really inconvenient as you can imagine. As the fridge was only 2 years old I did not want to replace it and this little gadget solved our problem. Door now closes with a secure click and can still be opened with one hand

Fitted well on Samsung wine fridge. Needed to re-stick to fridge after my teenage son pulled it off because ‘he didn’t see it’ but he said it was really difficult. Has worked very well since. I’ve tried pulling whilst closed and they really don’t budge!!! Easy to open for adults, you end up using the lock as a handle, so there hasn’t been an occasion where I have forgotten the lock is on there or thought they its been unlocked and then nearly punched myself in the face!!!

This does do what it claims. It was not bought to exclude children but to ensure the door stayed tightly closed. I had to bring the freezer forward an inch or so, as it is too close to the adjacent cupboard to get your fingers in to operate the latch otherwise. I’ve not had it long enough to comment on the longevity of the adhesive but it is 3M so should last well.

Fantastic little buy, a win for the kitchen. It provides peace of mind that the freezer is properly shut, when close the door and hear a click of the lock you know it’s not gonna be left ajar by anyone in the household again. This saved me money because the freezer seal was not as strong as when I first bought the freezer and things kept defrosting. Now my freezer locks and the food stays frozen. Fantastic product I’d buy it again.

This was very easy to install and has worked great for the last week or two I’ve had it on. You do need to make sure you find a place where the door and the fridge/freezer line up, but otherwise it’s pretty slick.
I’ve used the straps before and they were a little more cumbersome as I had to line up the parts and the buckle doesn’t always release easily. These are lined up and pushing both buttons is a piece of cake.
You want to put it in place before removing the adhesive cover and check to make sure the adhesive will make contact with both sides. I discovered that my mini-freezer has a beveled edge on the door when I noticed a gap between the adhesive and the door. It was easy enough to find other places where both sides met up.
I have two and will probably get a few more for our other fridge/freezer. I will try and update this when I take them off in the future, to comment on if it was easy or not – though I may leave them on as it’s a good way to make sure your freezer is closed.
Very effective childlock
Easy to fit and 100 per cent effective. Fitted to two freezer doors and fridge.
My fridge is pretty standard and this lock is too short and its full length can’t stick to the fridge, so a large portion of it just floats. That being said, the glue is very strong, even when I unpeeled it once to reposition it (my bad!), it’s still holding after about a month and I trust it will stick for a long time.
The 2 small buttons are hard to press, and one of them started to behave weird. It will get stuck when I press it, and unpress itself over time. The other one still works.
Overall, the lock looks great on my fridge, sticks very well and so far has been keeping my toddler from eating the butter. I’ve bought a 2nd one because if this one breaks and I don’t have a spare, I’ll be in trouble.
edit: bought a 3rd one for the freezer. the 1st one I have is still working.

Little bit of DIY and works on integrated unit too
I was having problem with my integrated fridge door. It’s an old unit so magnetic seal has lost suction. This was the only one I could find suitable for my need but manufacturer did mention that it’s not integrated units.
I didn’t have any choice so ordered one and voila, I was able to use it after a little bit of DIY. I had to break that L-shape part, stick and leave it overnight and now fridge is properly sealed.
I must add that one part is sticking out a little bit but that doesn’t bother me so I’m happy.

I have never been more satisfied with an online purchase. I bought the fridge lock to keep my cats out of the fridge and it does the job perfectly.
Foiled the toddle
Having caught my 3 year old opening the fridge door and leaving it while they went to fetch a step so they could rifle through everything, I decided a secure fix was needed. This was so quick to install – just stuck it on, and it has stayed on despite said 3 year old swinging off the door to try and open it. It has caught me out a few times, so it is very firmly stuck!
Very simple 1 handed operation to unlock – as long as you remember it is there!
Freezer issues...
I actually bought this for a standup freezer. Once in a while, someone would bump into it, look at it wrong, or think about it as it set in the basement and the door would become just adjar enough to cause it to defrost itself after several hours, if not a couple days standing a crack open in the basement where it was not noticed. I thought for SURE this last time that it was the freezer breaking and that the compressor or something went out.
Nope. It was just open. In frustration I picked this lock up. While it DOES work, and works great, it does not fully stick to the door and body. This is due to it being on a freezer, which has a wide gasket gap. I can hardly blame the lock for that though.
It does what it needs to do, and was very easy to install. I just wiped the area down where I was going to apply it with a bit of nail polish remover to ensure it was clean, peeled the backing off, and pressed into place in the best position I could find for my door. Poof, works great. I did have to modify it prior though, cutting a tab off the rear of it to ensure it set on the door and body correctly. Again, freezer.
All in all very pleased. It’s doing exactly what it needs to be doing. Keeping the door shut unless I want to open it. Push on the buttons, opens fine. I’m done? Closes with a click. Have not had an issue since.

We were so happy with it that I ordered a second one for the freezer as my little one has learned to push chairs to the fridge to get treats from the freezer.

Perfect for the job
I actually bought the child lock for me, as I accidentally left the freezer door open costing over 100 in wasted food. Wanted it so I knew the freezer door was closed and would not spring open.
The lock is easy to fit, easy to use, and as the advert says, works well with one hand.

So far so good. Bought this to try because my non verbal autistic child was getting up in night and going through the fridge to eat all the treats. He can’t operate it so it’s perfect in that sense However my very clever 2 year old once he realised he couldn’t do the mechanism just prised it off by the adhesive part soooo yes I’d buy it again but I intend on either using stronger double sided tape or super glue to fix them to the cupboards/ fridge etc

This product is simple but works very well. I had no concerns on that part when I ordered it. I did have major concerns about the adhesive it used though. A lot of reviews state its not strong enough to hold, or the piece falls off. So when I received it, I knew why people have had so many issues. Its not an issue with the tape. Its an issue with reading instructions lol. This uses 3M VHB tape. Its a very strong and resilient double sided tape, that works well when its applied correctly. So use these steps and trust me – it wont fall off easily! First you need to clean the entire area with isopropyl alcohol. Once it dries, remove the vhb tape backing and apply it to the door/side of fridge or freezer. Press firmly so to make sure all surfaces of the tape make contact with the appliance. Then, here is the most important part. DONT TOUCH IT FOR 24 HOURS MIMIMUM. When I apply vhb, I let it sit for 48 hours, but 24 is absolutely minimum. And now I get it, you need to get stuff out of your appliance. For 24 to 48 hours, it might be annoying and you might need to make plans in advance (coolers, order out, etc), but its worth it to allow the tape to bond properly. Use this method for anytime you use vhb tape!

I doing a van to RV conversion for the first time. I bought a new refrigerator with a freezer. After driving and finding my food everywhere I had to find some type of lock that would work but would be a hindrance, as I live in my van full time. A lot of the options seemed to complex for day to day use. Don’t want to have to pull out a key or a magnet every time I need to open the fridge. Didn’t want something that required 2 hands to open, which would be a major inconvenience while cooking. And I didn’t want any type of strap that dangles and scratches the fridge as it rocks back and forth over time..This product fit the bill, and it is pretty well made. Good strong adhesion 3M tape means my milk will be where I left it. It’s a very intuitive and simple one hand process to open once you’ve trained your mind to remember it’s there. It doesn’t interfere with the operation of the door and there is no added effort required to close the door. The 2 parts slide together smoothly, with the fridge body part pivoting slightly outwards when open. This well thought out action allows the two parts to sink up smoothly by allowing the device to compensate for the arc of the door swing. Very basic, but very smart.
My only issues is that I wish it was a bit longer so more of the door part attached to the door, and that it came in a 2 pack. Fridge and Freezer, need 2.
Otherwise, does the job. I would recommend it if you’re trying to keep gravity, babies, or drunk frat buddies from getting into your fridge.

We bought this due to some issues with our freezer not closing full on occasion. So far it works well, but I had to adjust the application of the clip further forward, so the piece that is supposed to be flush with the corner on the main unit isn't, otherwise the door piece would not adhere due to the angle of the door and the space between the latch and the base could be farther a part as others have stated. Also, I am not quite sure of the durability of the clip, so I use two hands to open the freezer, one to release the clip and the other to actually open the door for fear it will break or come off the door. Other than that, when the freezer door closes the latch clicks and it secures the door with no chance of not closing fully.

I know myself— if it’s a hassle to use, I’m not going to commit to using it day in and day out. At that point, what’s the use? This product is simple and effective! I can open it one handed without much if any effort and it requires no work to lock (just push the door closed and it will automatically lock in place.) it’s strong and sturdy. I have tried pull on the door’s handle and it doesn’t budge. I loved it so much I even put one on my freezer... Sometimes when I slam the fridge closed the freezer pops open ever so slightly. No more worrying about coming back to a defrosted freezer. Perfect! I wish I could find more baby proofing products as hassle free as this! (Who here actually opens and closes the baby gate throughout the day instead of just stepping over them?!)

I bought this because the seal on my freezer wasn't working well and the door would stay open. I put this safety do-dad on it and it works great. Easy click close and half the time I go to get something and try to open the freezer and it won't open...then I think "oh ya!". If I'm not getting in, no child is either. Lol

Great Lock. Easy installation with just 3M tape (pre-applied to lock). Keeps my special needs 8yo out of the fridge when he shouldn't be there. Strong hold! Had a few adults struggle to figure out how to open it. Once you know to push button on both sides at the same time its easy to open. Definitely would recommend.
