Bought this as preparing ceilings can be a back breaker but this makes light work of walls and ceilings. A little heavy to operate above your head but the fact it’s all done and dusted in no time, means that’s not a problem. You do need a vacuum of some sort on the end or you’ll have a cloud of dust that takes 3 months to settle, then you realise you missed a bit and bam, another 3 months gone but overall, an excellent tool and well worth the money.

Would highly recommend i plastered my wall and it was a pretty good job, then I sanded it with this sander and now it is like glass.

    Would recommend.

Make sure you mask everything off and dust sheet I did clean up was a breeze but without the masking the room would have been ditched.

Saves a lot of time (compared to sanding by hand), saves the dust spreading into the room (by connecting it to your vacuum cleaner, speaking of which, one advise – use one that you don’t regret losing as the dust will eventually kill it). It is a bit heavy but you can split the job into smaller surfaces and take breaks as necessary.

The bottom line – great tools that saves time, dust and money

Worked well. So well it went walkie – so the cheap part was really good!

After buying a house that looked like a drunken Stevie Wonder had painted it, I started off by noticing all the bad paint work, bad polyfila touch ups, the bad glossing, so I started off with a Mouse Sander & done one room. This took me a good 5/6 hours with tons a mess but it got the job done. Got a loan off an orbital sander was amazing it tore through the hall area – but with tons of dust & lots of cleaning.

Now fast forward to this piece of equipment, it genuinely breezes over the walls, it isn’t dust free but in comparison to the other two it’s worth it’s weight in gold in terms of speed & with the Hoover attachment it does help loads.

Complaint wise is, it is really heavy I am a fairly fit 33 year old & found this hard going on the ceiling or whilst using it for a period of time. I was being macho thinking oh it’s probably age 55+ reviewing this no wonder their struggling, no it is heavy so prepare for sore shoulders/back muscles the next day, I combined this with the Mouse Sander to get right into the corners & awkward angles so it left the room looking great & the walls as smooth as a French babys derrire.

Wish I had bought it sooner & I would recommend. But keep in mind – it isn’t dust free & it is heavy on arms / shoulders / back.

    Great device

As usual as other Evolution tools its robustly made but is difficult to use on ceilings as its very heavy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo, I have high ceilings in the house I am renovating and using the Evolution wall sander was just killing my shoulders.
All my ceilings are Artex (asbestos free) so needed the right tool for the job.
This worked a treat, still hard work but so much easier than having a wall sander above your head.
The weight is ok but after a while it does get heavy. Ten minutes rest then off you go again. The suction, well, that depends on how good your hoover is.
I would not recommend using a normal everyday hoover, get something more industrial like. The hoover I have cost me about 90 (Titan I think) and that worked a treat, very little dust.
The two light system is a nice addition and helps so much to identify parts that need more sanding. Great product that has already paid for itself.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI almost hired a pole sander but decided to buy this as the house refurb was going to take several weeks. It’s paid for itself times over. Despite being a little heavier than I was expecting, it does the job perfectly. Tethering it up to a cheap titan vacumn I hardly have any dust problems (I still wear a mask with filters). I have only used the courser grades of discs (60 and 80 grit), sanding drywall joints, filler in walls, uneven plaster and to give walls a general ‘once over’ in prep for emulsion after stripping wallpaper off.
I’m surprised everytime at how good it actually does the job!
The led lights are a fantastic feature.
Only negative I have is that I do occasionally catch the main on/off switch, turning it off when I’m in the throws of using it – perhaps locating it somewhere else would solve this.
Fantastic machine that I would certainly recommend.

It’s ok for what it costs, if your an occasional user then this is fine. I use it once every 3 months. It saves an enormous amount of time and effort compared to sanding by hand

I love everything about this tool. Maybe the dust extraction could be a little better, but as long as you put the hose directly from a vacuum into the sander it works perfectly. Highly recommend. The lights on it are super useful too. They are not just a gimmick.

Excellent piece of kit! Has made our work so much easier as a decorator.
Preparation is key and this certainly helps.
Only gripe is it’s a little heavy. The LED and task light makes such a difference.

    Fantastic!

    Great piece of kit!

If you are a moderate DIYer and looking for a wall sander this bit of kit is excellent. Dust extraction is good and when used in conjunction with easy fill the results save a fortune.

Makes sanding big areas very fast and virtually dust free! I just put the hose into a Henry hoover as don’t do huge amounts of tape and jointing but it works! I still go over with a hand sander quickly for tiny imperfections. The LED lights are amazing.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI am currently in the process of refurbishing a house and every room needs redecorating. All the bedroom walls are now stripped, cracks filled but need smoothing – hence buying this machine.
It’s big! and fairly heavy particularly when the extension pole is fitted. However for my use on the walls the extension pole can easily be removed and set aside making the machine more manageable. When I first started to use the machine I noticed a lot of vibration once the sanding head was pushed onto the wall – soon sorted by turning the speed down to about half – this made the sanding much more manageable. The LED lights on the front and the LED torch are excellent and a superb addition that really do light up the area being worked on. Attaching a vacuum to the supplied long hose took care of the dust and to be honest there was hardly any on top of furniture or window sills which is a massive bonus. The unit is very well made and very good value for money compared to the hundreds of pounds you could spend on an item like this.
So why the 4 stars. Simply because the machine is heavy which makes using it for any length of time fairly tiring. The weight probably comes from the solid construction and using lighter material would be reflected in the cost.
Would I recommend it, definitely, it smoothed the walls very quickly and made short work of removing the tiny bits of paper and paint still stuck to the walls, the walls felt much smoother to the touch. Don’t be temped to use course sanding sheets the finer ones roundabout 200 grit gave a far superior finish.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis megasander does exactly as you would expect. I had to buy some extra pads immediately (40 grit – for tough stuff) along with extra bags for my Titan vacuum – which fill up in about half an hour.
The megasander is pretty heavy. I’m a strong enough bloke and I had to have small breaks every couple of minutes to give my shoulder and back muscles a quick breather. I’m going to look like Xherdan Shaqiri by the end of this week.
I will be using this at work from now on (I am a decorator).

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersVery happy with the sander, it saved us a lot of time and produced an excellent finish. You’ll have to go over the area with a naked eye to ensure a perfect finish, but we were able to complete a 4 bed house, with 2 receptions, 3 hallways and a kitchen in 3 days.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI do a lot of taping and joining but didn’t want to fork out hundreds for an exspensive sander. Bought this on a wim with the expectation to return… but it is great! Sanded a 46m2 ceiling in under 10min and not 1 speck of dust landed on the floor!!
Deff don’t need full power, 1/4 is more then enough!
I did need a light rub with 220grit after just to get a beautiful finish but recon after abit of practice this won’t b needed.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersDecided on this, having previously purchased another of Evolution’s products. It was very easy to register its purchase online. Comes with an array of lights (you can switch off) an extension pole for higher ceilings and flexible dust extraction tube with neat stand to avoid damaging that when stood upright. If it helps anyone, the hose of Numatic’s Charles vacuum with its short curved metal tube slotted straight into Evolution’s. The machine easily abraded for repainting a 3m x2.5m glossed ceiling in 25 minutes using a 120 grit disc. I found stray dust to be far less than expected. At 5.8kg – nearly 6 UK sugar bags – consider its weight carefully as it might be too much for you to handle. That said, other makes were even heavier… I’m giving it five stars because it worked so quick, whilst I stood safely on Terra firma and after a couple more jobs, it’ll have earned it’s keep.
