I had been using a strimmer on an uneven small lawn. The Flymo mower was so easy to use, it collected the cut grass and the lawn looked much neate
Lightweight, ease of use
Compact product, perfect for my small lawn (4m x 3m). Due to vacuum effect grass collection box holds loads. As with most hover there’s a bit of loose clippings blowing about which don’t get collected. Height adjuster fiddly as blade needs to be removed and discs inserted/removed whereas wheeled mowers there’s just a clip to lift/ lower body : hence 4 star.
How to remove the blade effortlessly?
Lovely and light for my small back garden. Good value price wise. My big question is how to remove the blade underneath to fit the spacers? I literally had a team of adults attempting to do this, as per the instructions, without success. It was futile. I really like this lawnmower. If I can figure out how to get the blade off, I will love it more.

It is working ok and the grass is cut to the desired length but the mower is hard to move around as it doesn’t hover very well. I think the emphasis to get cuttings into the box reduces the power available for hovering.
i bought this as a second mower as my battery mower battery is running out before i finish cutting the grass,. it is light weight , works better without the catcher on it , it is for a small garden.. mine is quite big
As a lover of all things Flymo this lawnmower doesn’t disappoint. Its a good solid construction yet light weight and most importantly gets the job done. The addition of the grass box to catch all of those clippings is just the icing on the cake. Oh! And did I mention what a great price, absolutely can’t go wrong.
Arrived all well, mounting it all up was easy, I did have a problem undoing the bolt on the blade to add the spacers as on very tight.

The bad points, as it a flymo it will blow the grass around, it will suck it up if you go over it, not a big thing, I did fill a bag up with grass.
This mower is very light, easy to adjust cutting depth, very affectionate and very quiet. The performance is excellent bought to replace a much bigger mower, but have found it cuts just as good. Easy to use vacuum great additional feature
I have a small patch of lawn which does not warrant an expensive mower so this is perfect. It was easy to assemble and light to carry too. It does not cut as close to the edge as I like and is not too easy gliding but i am not complaining for the price of it.

Bought for my son who has newly sown grass about 10ft square,he said it struggled as he grass was damp and only 4″ tall,i thought 1400 watt would be plenty of power but i was wrong

And I like the neatly finished cut it imparts. Ideal for a compact lawn. However I don’t like the permanently fitted mains cord because it’s very difficult to stow neatly and the clumsy grass box is fiddly to remove for emptying.

I wanted a small grass cutter for a small garden, I got a small grass cutter with a tiny 25 cm blade, It could easyly hold a larger blade, about 30 cm, of which you can purchas at a ( reasonable ) price,
Persomaly, I leave the grass basket out, cut the grass, then put the basket back in and a walk aroung to collect the cut grass after, Dont know why, but it just makes the job feel lighte
Fairly large garden so probably should of purchased slightly bigger model but does the job and picks up the grass well, always seem to be emptying the grass box though
I purchased this Flymo Hover Vac 250 to replace my previous one as it no longer worked. I put it all together as per illustrations which was quite easy. Only problem I had, I couldn’t get the blade unlocked to put in a spacer as I like a close cut grass. Tried several times to get it moved, to no avail. Gripper kept slipping off which meant my knuckles skidded off the blade! Hope you have better luck.

Was a little apprehensive about buying a smaller Flymo, but no problems, ideal for my smaller garden, may have to empty it a bit more, happy with purchase

This is okay, does a good job of cutting the lawn if cut regularly. If the lawn is long, then this struggles and is better to strim the lawn first.
Undecided whether to replace with a wheeled version. I think the hover function just isn’t quite strong enough.

Good mower for the money but I’m on my third one in the space of four years. Motors keep blowing up. And my lawn is small.
Having destroyed the impeller fan in my previous famous but gone British named mower. I found a replacement on Amazon but I couldn’t get the damaged part off, so it was mower shopping. Wanted a small lawnmower due to space restrictions under the stairs.
Read some reviews and a 2019 garden magazine recommended it. Found some odd negative reviews. Mostly down to customers who don’t follow the instructions.
Mower is quieter than the previous, collects less grass, but is easier to put in compost bin. All metal blade, British design, goes up slope of 20 degrees, light weight, cut is good for moss/grass. Downsides the small collection box and the grass pick up grabs the lawn when pulling back
2 year warranty, put together in minutes, bought at Amazon deal price.
Brilliant little mowe
I only have a small patch of somewhat uneven grass so this is perfect for that. The first couple of times I used it the handles did keep coming off in the middle of mowing but for some reason have now stopped. I find it picks up pretty much all the grass but does blow some of it around. It cuts well and is easy to clean. For the price though I am very happy and it was easy to put together on arrival.
Has multi level cutting and glides across the grass, has a bit of grass overspray but that is soon cleaned up.

Overall it’s ok,but the grass collection could be better.the collection spout needs to be nearer the ground as in earlier models of flymo so more grass is collected.it’s not good to leave cut grass on a lawn.scarify your lawn at the end of a season and then see what gets collected.easy to manoeuvre although the blades will dig in the lawn a bit if it’s uneven in places.
Works well. I have a bumpy, sloping lawn so this makes things a bit easie

Very lightweight and does the job it’s intended to. I like the grass a bit shorter than this ( hence 4 stars) but for the price I’m happy with it.

Good little mower but nut extremely stuck so not good when try to put in the height circles in.

Does the job
As I have a smaller garden now, and because my large old flymo was getting old, I decided to downsize to one of these. It is light and does a decent cut, but for some reason it is not as manouverable. It picks up the grass okay. The grass box needs emptying quite frequently. It is a pretty cheap mower and it does the job okay.

The hover mac 250 came as new to me. I wasn’t disappointed as to it’s condition. Manual and warranty were available too. In such a transaction you at least expect to see cosmetic wear.
This was more or less untouched.
Assembly was easy. And the lawnmower runs impressively. Once again Amazon come up trumps for me.

Only used it once up to yet but seems to be OK and the grass box holds a fair bit the fact that it’s really lightweight makes it a lot better to carry around
Don’t be put off
Firstly I would like to say some of the reviews almost put me off! And I’m soo glad I did order! Who doesn’t get grass all over the place when using a mower that has a collector on only one side! I got this because I moved and needed something cheap for now to sort a jungle and my was I surprised!!! Nothing broke, nothing had to be changed or replaced! Still works perfect. VERY happy and very surprised!

The height adjuster is by putting spacers in or removing them which is a negative but considering everything else and the cost. .. I am very happy with my purchase.
Nice light mowe
Grass has been too wet so I haven’t used the mower yet. But it was easy to assemble, is very light and I’m sure that the little wheels/rollers will help with maneuverability. Metal blade, grass collection box – I’m looking forward to using it if it ever stops raining!

Compact mowe
Relatively easy to assemble, compact, ideal for a small garden. Hover mowers obviously blow the surrounding soil in the borders all over the place and flymo is no different. Mostly plastic so not sure how long it will last.

Easy to manoeuvre as it is a hover mower but makes a lot of mess as it blows the grass around. Ideal for small gardens (upto 30 sqm) anything bigger than that you better buy the next size up.
It is light and easy to store in a shed. The only negative side is the time consuming process when it comes to change the height of the cutting.
Good little flymo
Generally a good little mower, however, I do not know how long the plastic used in its design will last. The mower is light, easy to use but perhaps a little too fragile……………….But only time will tell.

Good little mower but handle is short. I find I have back ache after using as bend slightly to push this around garden. Has a tendency to dig into grass when pulling back but apart from these little problems it works great. Ideal for smaller gardens.

Re folding fla
I’m finding folding flat quite difficult, you have to push the handle sides in towards the mower at the base and need strength to do this.
Also finding that lid doesn’t stay clipped closed when hanging.
Otherwise this is a good machine

Good value lawnmower for the price, very lightweight and Easy to move around the garden, in fact it really makes light work of it now and I’m getting to enjoy mowing the grass, only one thing wish the grass box was slightly larger but saying that it’s so compact and hangs up in the shed neatly.

This is an excellent little mower. My mums lawn was a state but other than having to empty it every five seconds, as the box is tiny, it breezed it. (The grass was well overdue a cut). The second mow was a lot easier as was much shorter so although you do have to empty it quite often it’s not a hardship when it makes easy work of a terribly uneven law

Good little mower and glides easily across the lawn. not very good at handling longer grass but admitting my lawn was a bit of a jungle!
Really easy to assemble in a matter of minutes.
Think mower has different grass level cuttings but I haven’t adjusted mine yet so have no idea how short this can cut.
I do need to empty this more often than my last lawn mower though as the box isn’t as big, but all in all I’m happy with my purchase.

Easy to assemble and gives perfect lawn cut with very little effort as its almost weightless in use due to hover mode. Had one before and it lasted 10 years! Great product!
Does the job ok
Being a woman, I assembled it fine. I use it fine. But not good for long grass, that’s the downside. Cable needs to be longer. You need to make sure and clean it after use. But saying that it does the job OK.
